Law Enforcement Outfits for Genesis 2 and 3 Male(s)

This is a nice product with LOTS of components. The pants have modeled pockets, fly, and belt loops. It comes with a belt to go in those belt loops. This is the first product I've seen with welt pockets on the back of the pants, I think. That is a classy touch. But there are no side pockets (except the low cargo pockets). The pants have a pretty tight wedgie in the back. There are several adjustment morphs. Sadly there is no adjustment morph to reduce the size of the oversized buttons or very large shoulder patches. It comes with one texture - dark blue Police. There is a short sleeve shirt and a long sleeve shirt. There is an add on with other colors, hats, and insignia for other law enforcement organizations. I haven't tried the G2M version, but it is nice that it is for both G2M and G3M.

Some one asked for a render of the Knights of Valor for Gen3M.

Edited to add, the poke through at the top on the torso armor is my fault as I did not dial the morph for Darius 7 into the clothes. There is a morph there and it works perfectly, I just forgot to do it.  Once i did it fit over the the other parts perfectly.  Also, the only reason his head is at that angle is because its part of the pose I picked lol.  Has nothing to do with the neck its find when his head is in a normal position.

Thanks for posting this. I'm relieved to see that the sword and other metals bits look, well, metallic. In the product's own promo pics they look like they're grey plastic - almost like a Lego knight instead of a real one. Are there morphs to stop the skirt flying up in the gravity-defying way it does in the promos?

    Nicely done!

Wow, lots of great images here. You are very talented.

She looks great.  I think the makeup works, too.  :)

    Thanks everyone!

I need to figure out body morphs and how they work. Some require that other people also have the morphs, others don't. I need to figure out how to tell which is which in my morph dials. Then figure out how to save it. So much learning.....

And its just the tip of the ice berg lol.  One thing leads to another, to another.... I will say this, they say that continuing to actively learn things helps stave of alzhiemers and dementia.  I figure, I will be learning more things about this program for another 30 years so I should be good to go....

  • Someone has developed a Character Preset to allow Carrara users to use Genesis 3 ?

    paleolithic? smiley

Ayup.... and I am going to get to work on his Neanderthal friend tomorrow! Just need to transfer some features over doing a side-by-side as the sliders are different from the G2 model used then.  yes Silene

  • Anthromorphic Cat Character for G3M

So far as I can tell, there is only one Genesis 3 character that is an anthromorphic cat, which would be Cheetah Girl. This would probably work except I need to make a male character with a cat face for a anime motion graphic project, and cross-figure will not work because I need to mix in the George morph. Cat World is along the lines of what I need (but Genesis is a little too old), and I know there are cat facial features in G3M Fantasy Creature Creator but that doesn't give me a tail, texture, or ears.

  • You Can Help Design the Next Create a Room XPack! [COMMERCIAL]

Those who have been following the Collective3d Facebook page already know that the next XPack for the Create a Room series is currently in development.  Due to the enormous popularity of this series, the third XPack is quickly becoming the largest one yet.  44 different wall sections have been completed so far, and I'm estimating there will be a minimum of 60 by time I am finished.  For the sake of comparison, there are 25 total wall sections in the first 3 sets (Base, XPack 1, and XPack 2) combined.

In looking to add greater flexibility and customization, Create a Room XPack 3 provides wall sections in differing lengths, with square (rather than angled) corners.  This switch comes directly from user feedback.  Plain wall sections come in lengths of 2.5, 5, 10, and 15 feet.  There is a 2.5 x 2.5 foot corner section as well, so the trim works on the longer outside angles.  In additon, there are numerous window sections in 5 foot and 10 foot lengths, with animated sashes hooked up to morph sliders.  Single, double, and triple window arrangements, each with 5 different styles of mullion.  2 different bay window styles.  5 and 10 foot sections with passage doors (5 varieties), entry doors (5 more varieties) and archways.  I will be adding floor and ceiling sections in 5 x 5 foot squares, making it possible to build the floor plan of an entire home.

Each of the wall sections is mapped and unwrapped in such a way that color changing can be accomplished purely with the color picker in the diffuse channel.  Each is mapped with baked ambient occlusion, and the normal maps are tiled appropriately.  You just pick your color and render.  The trim is fully unwrapped, and can easily be "finished" in plain paint, painted wood, or stained wood textures.  The entire set is also backwards compatible with the previous Create a Room sets (expanding your choices even more) and many of the Movie Sets and Portrait Vignettes released over the years by Collective3d.

Beyond walls, floors, and ceilings, Create a Room XPack 3 will also include numerous additional furnishing and fixtures, including new paintings by Matthew Hibben.  This is where you come in!  I'd like to know what features are most useful or interesting to you, as the end user.  What "quality of life" improvements would make the set easier to use?  What props, furnishings, fixtures, or structural elements would be most useful or interesting?  Your feedback has already driven the development of the set to this point, and I'd like you to drive it a little further.  I'll be looking for comments, suggestions, and wish lists here in this thread, and also over on the Collective3d Facebook page.  Let me know what you think!

  • Is there a morph or a setting ...

Is there a morph or setting in / for G3 to make the eyes bulge out? I know that there are settings to make the eyes wider but from a profile perspective, the eyeballs still look relatively flat. I'm talking about making the eyeballs themselves bulge out more. Thanks in advance.

  • Using GenX2 on Toon Genesis characters?

You can transfer a head only morph by using "Single Morph Only", however when the pop up box appears where you have to name the morph you need to change the Region from "Actor" to "Head"

Remember to select the head to be transferred as one of the morphs under "(region) Head" first.

Note that most of 3D Universe's toon characters have no separate head and body morphs, just a single full body morph, so you can not transfer just the head on these characters.

Thanks, Phil.  Yes, it is very powerful.  yes  I've successfully followed your video to control one object with another (see feet split object).  Your explanations are always clear.  Part of my problem with the morph controller is that there are so many options that it is hard to go through and isolate when something goes wrong.  That is the price to pay when a function has so many abilities.  There are a lot of boxes that could be checked or unchecked.

Check out the GenX tutorial list in Novicas Art Studio Thread: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/2178136/#Comment_2178136

For head morph transfer between Genesis figures : Go to the GenX tab, load your source figure, expand the Region Head section, check all head morphs you would like to convert on the left side, Mode needs to be Selected Morphs, select your target figure and click on transfer.

@Saiyaness he's another great character but got a slight problem with another just finally got around to looking at Abel loaded from the smart menu his morphs don't work tried updating meta and installing reinstalling yes have aging morphs btw anyway I went into the other shaping tab in parameters section found the body dial but couldn't locate the shaping dial for head only appeared when typed his name in search so I've worked out how to get him but thought let you know

Hmmm...that's weird! I haven't had any concerns from anyone else about loading his morph. Hopefully it was just a hiccup? Do you have a custom library set-up maybe moving files to weird places?
Is it his Character preset, Shaping presets or his Head and Body dials that aren't working? Do you have Genesis 3 Male Head Morphs as well?
I'm glad you got it working eventually. Sorry for the inconvenience! :)

studio has been having some issues for me lately yes different glitches for awhile couple of second circle's ladies went haywire with arms hands fingers distorting crazy long and weird shapes got that fixed after several attempts via db maintainence also had dupilcate errors. Then I discovered for some reason my content was also being installed on my c drive which isn't large and I have dim set to install on my other drives that are raided together so I moved that content over but had to send some naprts back to c so studio would work. Now when I install via dim I'm finding I still have to install including updates and re meta inside studio as well sometime again when I start up again and it is sub groups of products. I haven't made custom libraries that I know of but I do think things have been split up to different areas on my computer no issues with Dale, Opal, Jurou, Ceridwen or Nyarai

ok I think I have an actual gremlin poltergeist or something that just loves to mess with me often does weird stuff to or around me. Just started studio loaded Jurou and Opal as haven't used them recently to check them then loaded Abel and he fully loaded normal and I triied loading him several times last night unsuccessfully till I went that other way someone/thing is having their fun with me. Well these are great characters thanks

  • Using GenX2 on Toon Genesis characters?

It looks like you can as long as there is already a separate head morph already. Like I just created a Head Morph for G3F that is just the Girl 6 head. But that morph was already a separate morph. I'm not sure if you can do a sperate head morph for a full character that doesn't already have a separate head and body morph.

  • Using GenX2 on Toon Genesis characters?

Ok.. finaly getting back to this.. I've done a basic transfer, but I wanted to do a head only transfer...is that not possible?  Or am I just not remembering how to do that?

(The one I tried gave me a head morph in the right category, but it morphs the whole thing)

I've not tried a head only morph. I'll give it a try and see if I can figure it out.

  • Serious asymmetry problem, is Aiko6 an incomplete product?

    jestmart said:

Aiko 6 is a morph (so can't cut in half and mirror) for Gensis 2 Female so weight maps aren't the issue as other characters based off G2F don't show this behavior.

Morph can be mirrored.  Open the cr2 file with a text editor, you will see the deformation values for each verticle, and the index of the verticles are the same as the original G2 model. It should be easy for a famous company like DAZ to do it automatically by writing a program. Even as an amateur, I repaired the the obj and morphs half automatically by processing the data through Excel/VBA.

I don't believe the weightmap issue only happens for A6 unless whoever shows me that the weightmap of hip part doesn't have the rubbish verticle I mentioned for another G2F-based model. Even though the problems in A6 are obvious if the mesh mode is turned on or you have a look into the cr2-file, few people realized that.

Thanks, Phil.  For some reason, I am having touble getting the ERC to link control of a morph by rotating of a skeleton bone.  I wonder if it might be the angles vs quaternion thing.  But it might just be the issue of controlling a slider between 0-1 with something rotating in radians.  I'm not even bothering with the Brash model.  I'm just testing it on a more simple mesh.  See the feet model above.

  • Not necessarily an issue but...

Okay, I decided create her a 3rd time and look at the Surfaces at each step.

    1. Loaded G3F and her Surfaces are not iray. Only Eye moisture and Cornea have Ambient active.

    2. Applied character morph so no changes to the Surfaces.

3 Applied character texture without converting Surfaces to iray beforehand and that application automatically changed the Surfaces to iray. None of the Surfaces have emissive active.

    4. Just set up for a night scene with a single spotlight on her upper body so it leaves the nails in mostly darkness and applied a basic background so she isn't standing in the middle of nothing or clouds.

    5. Applied DTAS - OiledA. There are now no emissive settings.

Before I type what happened next, I'll just say that I typed the above as I was applying each of those steps. This is what followed.

I'd intended to a render but viewing it in the iray preview, her nails didn't glow. However, the background was dark and couldn't see it so I decided to turn it into a minor emissive and attached its texture map to the emissive colour then played with the luminance. Lo and behold, her toenails start to glow. In the original image that inspired this thread, there are a number of emissives in the scene and I'm now guessing that is what is causing the shader effects to glow LOL.

Want no glow, don't have emissives in the scene :).

First image, background not an emissive.

Second image, background as an emissive but it made a lier out of me because the emissiveness isn't that strong lol.

So, I did a third image and added an emissive like the original image to duplicate the effect and this is the result. The stronger the emissive and it shining onto the surface, gives that glow in the dark effect. HA! The emissive is showing off her sparkling skin :)
