  • CAR AND BIKE LOVERS THREAD - MARK IV

Are you using Sketchup Pro or Sketchup Make? I've tried Sketchup Make and a couple of free ruby script plugins, but the results were often hit or miss...

  • CAR AND BIKE LOVERS THREAD - MARK IV

No, affraid not, that one is a sketchup file I converted back when I still had sketchup 2014, I still have it alright, but its on my other computer, and I can't even get video on that one right now, its supposed to be a 46 Ford mild custom.

  • Sketchup file import

Sorry but I' was recommending a native file format importer for Sketchup files (.SKP). And not STL or OBJ or MAX or 3DS or LWO.

  • Sketchup file import

Not sure if this is possible but a script or plugin allowing DAZ Studio import Sketchup models in the native Sketchup file format (.SKP).

"Now thats a name I haven't heard in a very long time." Sorry I couldn't resist. I know you can see him on Illum (i think) but I can't say I have ever seen him in 3D sad Hope you will be able to find him.

ETA: I found this on sketchup if you can use that. If you don't have sketchup give me a shout, I might be able to help.

  • Diner with logo sign I have done in Sketchup

Thank you for the comments.  I wasn't thinking 'retro' when I start making this.  Just playing in sketchup to see how the arc tool works.  If I have time I want to work more with the building try other options, i.e. testing out the Artisan tool/Sculpt brush, etc.

In my country we don't have diners as in America, more roadhouses where people are eating in there cars (serving trays clipped to windows), parked in a parking lot in front of main building.

Santa's New Sleigh - Did this render in Vue about 7 years ago. Created the hot rod in SketchUp. I painted in the Santa figure using ArtRage.

  • Diner with logo sign I have done in Sketchup

Only my second building I have done in Sketchup.  It is very simple, i.e. door can't open.  I am new to this and still have lots to learn.

Interior is not my work and not included, however one can get it free from DeviantArt (link to freebie in my ShareCG upload).

  • Object Rotation Center Origen Point Can't Be Found Or Changed

Thanks Richard and Syrus. I'll give these things a try when I return to the situation.

Ya. It is a static mesh. A car.

    https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/91b8ece60d42eb68f766eaa8de0b52c9/Hong-Qi-红旗

I converted it for use in Daz Studio in two different ways. The first way didn't parse the materials out enough. But that one I could find and center the rotation pivot points. The second way did parse out all the materials by way of simply breaking the model down into about a thousand parts. So I put all the parts into a heirarchy of groups and other parenting. But this one I can't find and center the pivot point for the car, and is what this post is about.

  • Hello!!

Hello! I'm John and I'm new to Daz3D!!

I am a Senior VDC Engineer in Chicago and I'm a long time 3D modeler. I also own my own side business GravityArt 3D Studio. I primarilly deal with architecture and architectural environemtns. Generally I utilize Sketchup for simple modeling of buildings and I export to Lightwave 3D for more advanced modeling, texturing, rendering and animation. I came across DAz from an Ad click and I'm very intrigued!! Is there a large market on Daz for 3D environments and building models??

    Thank you!!

  • Sketchup to Carrara

well my versions of sketchup with third party obj exporters can no longer access the 3D warehouse.

so it looks like I need the latest one now

not bothered yet as the models are really rather roughly made in most cases.
