Daz Central Ending - New Enhanced Install Manager
And you can do a search like this and quickly get a view of possible items.
###
I think a lot of users will have missed the announcement and this discussion and are going to get a shock when Daz Central suddenly disappears.
###
If it is essentially the same underlying program as DIM, it's hard to see why something so useful would be cut. It's surely not a huge heap of work to keep it as a front end.
I think they could happily drop everything from Daz Central except for the Daz Studio assets section and I'd be happy.

Thanks for the response, @MelanieL - I'll try and get them all loaded. I started with my installed products and it's taking forever, which is frustrating. Neither a limitation with my PC or internet, it just is what it is. My uninstalled list is MUCH larger, so I'm not looking forward to that. At least I can do other things whilst it... downloads pictures. I noticed that it shows me how much space my collection is taking up, too, and now I just feel like I have too many products installed!! :D I do hope the images appear at least slightly as large as DazCentrals - however it's now not so easy for me to spin my mouse wheel, see what takes my fancy and get inspired to install something to make art. That is a horrible loss as I did do that quite a bit.
...
You're welcome!
I'd be interested to know what that Daz Central scrollable list of larger images looked like (I started with DIM shortly after it was introduced so have never seen Central). Personally I spin my mouse wheel on Smart Content Products view for inspiration. I sort by Installed Date Recent First as my norm, so I can easily see things I've just bought, but change that to SKU Id Low-to-High or High-to-Low sometimes just to get a different perspective!
Here is Daz Central with the images set to large. You can have them smaller, too, in a list like with DIM. But these big pics are a big draw for me as I rarely wear my glasses (they cause migraines), but without them everythings a little bit fuzzy so I sometimes have no clue what I'm looking at! It does take longer to get through the list, but that's OK for me - I want to see if anything catches my eye rather than just whiz through.
I looked at DIM again after installing the pics, and the icons when hovering over are a bit better. Still not great, but it's not as bad as I first thought. I definitely think I'll be making less random art based on things in my collection inspiring me, which is a shame as I have so much stuff!why isn't anybody talking about Daz 4.22?NorthOf45 said:

i'm so glad i waited a while... the OOT issue needs to be resolved before i'll risk the the update.
It is a settings issue that is pretty simple to resolve, if it even affects you (depends on installation method/order, mostly)
Easy for some... the fix detailed earlier seems like a right pain, do you have to do this every time?
Just install one of the updated OOT hair products. The fix applies to all of them in a shared file.
As long as you use DIM/Daz Central/Manual install, and don't have a second content dorectory with an older version of the file that will; be found before the updated one.
How do I disable popups messages in DIM?this message has popped up 3 times today in DIM. I never used to get these. I close it each time and each time it comes back. I don't want to upgrade as rendering is significantly faster in DS 4.16 than in any newer version of DS. If ending DAZ connect or central or whatever its called, means that now you're going to start bombarding us with messages in DIM, then I"m just gonna have to do all manual installs. I don't want any Daz messages popping up at me unless you're giving me a free shopping spree.

Update 4.22 Leony Ponytail Genesis 8This is a known issue with some Out of Touch hairs - though whether you encounter it it depends on the instalaltion order, and method.
The immediate fix is to seelct the hair and any cap or other parts in the scene, then go to the Editor tab of the Surfaces pane and select the hair and any cap or other parts there. Find the transmitted colour property (just type transm in the filter box at the top), click the nano-thumbnail to the elft of the colour picker, and from the menu that opens select None. Edit: according to the read me this hair has been updated, so if you install with Daz Central or Install Manager try redownloading from your account and reinstalling.

This is just my opinion, I feel like I'm alone with it. DIM looks old, feels old, is harder for me to navigate (I have no idea what half my products are by name, because a lot of things are named ridiculously), and just overall not that great to use, in my opinion. I started out with DIM, found DazCentral very quickly which was leaps and bounds better - I assumed it was Daz's modern, new, shiny version, whereas DIM was the dated, old version that would get phased out.
I've now installed DIM again because of DazCentral being scrapped (can I still use it, or will it just no longer work?), and it really is just, very visually at least, outdated. Maybe my install has an error (I just updated it), but I can't see any way to actually make the product images bigger? At first, I assumed it wasn't possible to see the images, because they haven't loaded - I'm not sitting here to go through thousands of products just to retrieve the thumbnail, either, so I guess I just don't have product images with DIM. Sure, DIM is slightly faster to load (even though it prompts me to sign in every time, despite 'Remember Me' being checked), but I really prefer clean, modern, and highly-visible UI over a slightly faster load time.
I suppose I'll get used to it eventually, and I know that plenty of people prefer DIM and think it's better than DazCentral. Personally, I think it's a shame I have to start using something that's harder for me (personally) to use. If anyone can help me figure out how to make those images bigger AND load all of them in for thousands of products in one go, that'll make the transition smoother I think. I do like that it's a little quicker to scroll through all my items, but that's not quite a benefit if I don't know what half of them are. :)
Rant over, and I am sure there are benefits to DIM, people do seem to prefer it after all!
Yes. All of this!
DIM is fine if you can remember what all those badly named items actually are.
DAZ CENTRAL is so much better at showing them to you so you can choose intelligently.
The loss of CENTRAL will make me use Daz a lot less because it will be a lot harder to use it in the way I need to use itDaz Central Ending - New Enhanced Install ManagerFor me it is manual Installation per zip file only, or *.exe for DS software.
No DIM, DAZ Central, Smart Content or what ever, never!
I have never understood why all those installer apps suppose to be important.Daz Studio 4.22[.0.x] Pro, General Release!Rammaukin said:

Is it just me or has anyone else been having the same issues.
Since updating to version 4.22 I am receiving multiple "File does not exist" errors when trying to load item into a scene. This happens regardless of whether the item has been downloaded/Installed through DIM or Daz Central and it happens whether I use the Smart Content Tab or the Content Library Tab. I have 500GB of Daz content and re-installing my entire Library is not an option. How Can I resolve this issue any help/suggestions would be appreciated. It happens on both my Windows 10 and My Windows 11 installations both of which have in excess of 32GB Ram and an RTX 3060 12GB GFX card onboard
Check the log file (Help>Tro8bleshooting>View Log file) to find exactly what it is trying to load - often that is down to the database showing that there is a Connect (through daz Studio) instal when there isn't.

I want to go back to the previous version...

For what issues?
Genesis 8 female character doesn't work with OOT hair. I need to set a Transmitted color of the hair to none and that needs to be done after all other assets are loaded to character so I can render.
That is a content bug, compounded by installation order if using DIM/Daz Central/manual (it's a shared file that has the issue, so if a fixed version is installed last the issue will be fixed for all hairs like this) or exactly which product is read if using Connect (each product has its own folder, but I think DS grabs the first copy of the shared file it finds).
That content worked very well with the previous version. That's why I would like to go back.
Neverhtheless, it is an error in the content and that shouild be fixed - the maps in Transmitted Colour are not actually doing anything useful in any event, as I understand it. Since there is a fix/workaround for these issues I would think it unlikely that support would give you a link to an older version.
Daz Central Ending - New Enhanced Install ManagerI tried to use daz central and just got confused by it. In contrast, DIM seemed very intuitive, albeit ugly UI

Pitmatic You can totally say that a few more times.

Will I have to uninstall all my content and reinstall through DIM?
Jorune2112 No, no you don't! Dowload the latest DIM and just have a look around. All your installed stuff will be listed. DIM and Daz Central interface to the same system.
(Just check that DIM has the same install paths as DAZ Central...)

Daz Central does not install to the listed locations on the readme page/tutorials for scripted products. It spreads them over your system and this will break most scripting. I would suggest installing any scripted products via DIM or manually.
You are thinking of Daz Connect, not Daz Central.
OP: you say you are looking under "C" - have you tried looking under "R" for "RSSY Character Converter ..."?
