I'd like to know before I decide what to buy. Thanks :)That's the gimmick! To always have punches, you'll basically need to anticipate spending $1.99 a day (since items are split $0.99 or $1.99). Some days could sometimes be less (eg if the Better Than Daz+ offer appeals and you're a Premier member, etc.) You don't need punches every day of the sale, but you'll need good luck (and patience) if you let it drop occasionally and Daz suddenly runs an unexpectedly strong offer at an odd time of month. Last year I experimented and the two strategies seemed to be: keep a daily punch quota no matter what (spendy, but most latitude), or don't worry about it at all until late in the sale (and be limited to those offers/selection, but enter with a bigger bank).

Agreed that a membership makes sense this month. I see there's a Better Than Daz+ offer which I assume is daily, and for Premier members it's $1.49 which plays nicely with the holiday punch card requirements. If someone wanted punches all month and wasn't selective about acquiring any of the buy-in items, the difference of buying a $1.99 item for 30 days and a $1.49 item for 30 days is already almost break-even for a month of Premier. Plus the two coupons, free character bundle, and any membership bonus offers (gift card deals, etc)
If you join today it'll probably end at some unexpected hour near January 1st. :P imo the membership clock has been too unpredictable to anticipate a specific renewal date/hour.

I wish we had some clarification on these rules. I think there is a chance nothing has changed, because the gift card works in the same way, it didn't earn a Punch last year either, but it did reset the Calendar freebie offers, so I guess we need someone with zero punches currently to do a test and see if a 99 cent purchase today will earn freebie offers for the next 3 days.
If it's like last year, you get the advent calendar offers every day whether you buy anything or not. I seem to remember the offers switching to two buy offers (no freebie) if you didn't shop regularly enough, but I'm not sure.
If the Nice List offer is a daily thing, whether or not it's a freebie says it's based on punch count, so as a Daz+ member any future ones would stop being a freebie if you let your punches lapse (until you built up 2 punches again)
Not sure on the advent calendar freebies responding to a $0.99 purchase. It wouldn't surprise me if they're keyed to punches as well, i.e. spendy customers might get options that reinforce spendiness.

Thanks :)As the punch card section states, the purchase must be over $1, so yes, it's safe to assume that $0.99 won't count (and if you're in a place where sales tax is added, keep in mind that sales tax doesn't count toward the punch card either). So if you want to use QG/OS items, the $1.99 items will be the minimum.

Denizens of the Daz3D forum freebie area - The festive season is upon us once more, but there's no time for merriment just yet! You see, i've spoken to santa (we're on the same mud wrestling team), and he has an unfathomable conundrum. No-one seems to believe in the chubby fellow any more. The man spends all of christmas eve greasing up your chimneys to spread Christmas cheer, whilst you're unconscious on the couch, in some sort of mince-pie induced coma. He spends all year figuring out how exactly playstations are made, and sewing a billion pairs of socks … For what? If no-one believes in him, the man might just jolly-well give up the game all together, and take on mud-wrestling full time. We can't let this stand denizens. I want my seinfeld anniversary box-set and festive mud-wrestling mankini under the tree, so it's time for action.
I need everyone to post evidence that santa has been. Half eaten cookies perhaps? Hoof prints on your roof? Maybe you have ring camera footage of the man in action? We need to get the word out there that the big man is still in the game, and he's going to be out there wrecking chimneys in less than a months time.
TL;DR - Render Santa, or evidence of santa.

Shake Bridge 20 has some sharp vertical cliffs at the water's edge, where the bridge used to be. TangoAlpha warned me that these terrain presets were not designed for use without the bridges, so the land is adjusted to prevent interference with the bridge. You know I always try things that were not intended. In this case, I have been pretty pleased with what I got so far. It sparks imagination to see what can be done with it.
In the case of Snake Bridge 20 with the steep cliffs, if I were not doing it to demonstrate what it is like, I would try to change the texture maps so that the path texture didn't run vertically down to the water. I would prefer the rock texture there. OI course, when you use the product as intended, the bridge is there and that is not an issue at all. Anyway, the path at the top of the cliff is wide enough for a vehicle, but not wide enough for two side by side. The river is wide enough for two of the canal boats to easily travel side by side. It might be a tight fit under the bridge, though. The character in the scene here is a G9. I added the road barricades on the cliff edge. I changed the water preset to glacial stream to better match the water in the HDRI I used.

I am usually plug and play pretty much, choose the terrain, ecology, etc and let er render, but is there a way to manipulate the terrain, raise/lower it, add some mesh to maybe where the path ends to allow it to continue along the river? I don;t remember now, but do the code66 mask products and the other tools work in USC2? I thought I read where they don;t work, but they would give additional options for sure.
You can manipulate the terrain in many ways just inside UltraScenery2, by altering max altitude, using the noise maps, adding your own height map, using displacement, etc. The terrain preset height maps control some areas strictly, so they line up with the props and shape the roads, etc.To fully control the height, you can modify those height maps that come with the terrain presets. I use Photoshop to do that. That is a lot trickier, to get exactly what you want.
The old USC1 tools don't work on USC2, but there is a Mask Builder II for UltraScenery2.Late last night, I played with one of the height maps and the roadbase and roadsurface masks to make the cliff more sloped and keep the road texture from running over the edge of the cliff. I actually like the sharp cliff of the original better than my sloped cliff, I agree with you, the cliffs are a nice change from the normal shoreline, and an unexpected "gift" in this set. I've only explored the two terrain presets in detail. There are 18 more to explore. I think some terrains are the same as others, with only changes to the bridge itself. The bridges themselves are pretty interesting.

Spectulativism, welcome to the forum. Very nice take on a Bryce landscape in Klee-like materials.
I made a second render of the three cubes. I changed the cubes to different shades of grey and made them partly transparent. I also changed the surrounding object to a pyramid with 1% red diffusion and full reflection. I tilted the floor plane and gave it a 2% blue diffusive colour and 50% reflection + 50% transparency. I also added dome light with positive diffuse and negative specular light. Also a yellow radial light inside the cubes. I rendered with a maximum ray depth of 12 to increase the number of reflections. This render can be called 50 shades of purple and grey.
DAZ Keeps Changing Window SizeApologies if this has been answered elsewhere, but every search term I come up with results in huge quantities of false positives.
As I use DAZ, it keeps changing the window size when it has a complex operation. I have a 4K screen, and I have font scaling set to 150% (Windows recommended value). I run DAZ in fullscreen mode, but during loading of props, or files, or any complex operation the window will reduce in size to 2/3, and it looks like the fonts are set at 100%. Then it flashes back to full size.
It's incredibly distracting and annoying, so I am hoping this is a known issue and someone can suggest a fix. I can't say which version this started in, but it was a few months ago.

Unwanted JCMs1. File bug reports. I personally think you should name the characters so when people search the forums about faulty character they will find this thread.
2. Two options to fix
- Option 1: Non-permanent solution. Identify any JCMs which shouldnt be active under 'currently used'. Disconnect/unlink the faulty JCMs so they are no longer controlled by their drivers, and set them to zero, as per what Crosswind described here: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/9359131/#Comment_9359131
- Option 2: Permanent solution. Update controllers via the Property Heirarchy and resave the updated modifier assets so they overwrite the originals (may want to take backup first if you are worried).
- Parameters > Preferences > Show Hidden Properties
- Paramaters tab > go into Edit Mode (right click a parameter and choose Edit Mode)
- Parameters tab > Find the faulty JCM > Right click > Show in Property Heirarchy
- Property Heirarchy tab > Go to Controllers> Stage 2
- Drag over the character's Body morph from Parameters tab into the Property Heirarchy tab Multiply slot
- File > Save As > Support Asset > Save Modified Assets (or you can manually save out indiidual Modifier Asset(s) to relevant content library)
Again, this is vendor's job.

But a good messed-up sale is sometimes a good sale.

Filled a few carts yesterday.
With the Shop turnover over, I grabbed the free items. (Every 2(?) weeks)
Cleared up a few outlets. More items I probably will never use.

60% off was not bad if you were able to get it to work.
Grabbed Fisio: Physics Simulator, and I already have Gescon: Constructive Solid Geometry for Daz Studio. I want to see what those two could do together....
