[FIXED] Frontier Outpost... DazCentral Only !
Ugh....wth first I'm not a dude...dude StoneMason didn't specify what he was getting fixed. If it was the fact that it wasn't downloading through DazCentral or for the other options being available.
DAZ made in the past a very clear statement that DIM will stay and DAZ Central is only an option for new users.
So you can expect that's only a bug that Frontier Outpost is not working via DIM.
Have a little patience
bugs happens. But in the meantime, DIM functionality is being removed, and DazCentral, even in its broken and incomplete form, is being pushed on us. Daz has not acknowledged or apologized for the many problems it has cause its customers with Daz Central and rather than scrapping it going back to the drawing board to produce a properly functioning client, continue to cause us and themselves unnecessary frustration.
What DIM functionality has been removed? For me, everything is workign fine what I need.
Links to install with DIM have been replaced by links to install with DC, rather than having added DazCentral as an option.
For me not, just checked it (see attachments) and they go all to DIM as they should. But I never use these links, normally just download new boughts prodcts via DIM directly.
Maybe I never installed DAZCentral, because I immediatelly regogniczed that DAZCentral is a downgrade compared to DIM.
Beta for DazCentral, your new Content ManagerSimple question regarding DAZ Central downloads. When DAZ Connect only was introduced, it was clearly stated that the Connect only would be for one year. Does the same apply to Central only?[FIXED] Frontier Outpost... DazCentral Only !Ugh....wth first I'm not a dude...dude StoneMason didn't specify what he was getting fixed. Frontier Outpost bought but not installableDAZ Central isn't being forced on anyone. This is just a distribution screwup and it will be fixed before the day is out. It will be in your Catalog and available once the issue is fixed. DAZ does care about the customers.
I just bought Stonemasons Frontier Outpost (and added a free one with the coupon).
The free one appeared in my content, the Frontier Outpost did not.
I already filed a ticket, but for the last one DAZ took nearly seven weeks to answer ...
And again they are forcing a new buggy software on the users, since the new content only is downloadable through DAZ Central.
But what does DAZ care? they have my money and obviously anyway see no obligation to deliver the content bought or see that it works.Do you know this for certain, have you actually got that from someone who works for Daz or is it speculation?
SHADERS : Skin Shaders Community Workshop - No links availableI asked for a refund, as I'm not able to download it, but I also stated that I will need no refund, when it is available without Daz Central. So, let's see what's happening.
Update: Seems they solved it
[FIXED] Frontier Outpost... DazCentral Only !It's not an inference and not an assumption though. The product description for Frontier Outpost states as the install method Central and not the other methods, while for example, the Urban Sprawl Big City product lists as install methods DAZ Central, DAZ Connect, DIM, and Manual Install. Both those are factual statements on DAZ 3D's part not incorrect, worst assumptions on the customer's part. DAZ 3D may be incorrect in their statements but the customers can only read what DAZ 3D has told them.
What happened to my Install Manager links? Daz Central only.I just finished going through the new items for today, and found another one, https://www.daz3d.com/shaders--skin-shaders-community-workshop, that I had considered buying, but placed on my wishlist also is only DAZ Central. All the others have four options for download, except of course Stonemason's set.
What happened to my Install Manager links? Daz Central only.I stick to manual downloads as I want control over where and what download to which directory and library. I'm not installing Central. We went through this a couple of years ago. That particular attempt at least had a time limit. One year after purchase all links including manual were made available at purchase. I took my money elsewhere then because I won't be dictated to how and where I download or install products. I'll do again. The Outpost product is nice but I don't need it that badly. I have other similar sets that can work just as well.Yeh, I returned Daisy 8 and some other stuff in protest.
So you returbned items you had wanted because of what is likely to have been a product set-up issue on the servers?
I don't approve of what the direction Daz seem to be going here; I could be wrong, if I am, I'll happily rebuy them at some stage. I'm voting with my wallet.

All products from the Daisy 8 Pro bundle have manual links. I haven't checkedcked the other purchases I've made but I will.I'm not interested in what they have, only what is likely to happen (IMO). Daz connect (and it's encrypted DRM part) introduced in 4.9 was intended to replace DIM if useage of DIM went down sufficiently; this was the official view (I forget the exact wording). That DIM has vanished from some products (actually is only one) is worrying. I'll wait and see. In the mean-time, I can purchase what I need elsewhere.
Daisy 8 etc, will be available for less eventually; my gain, Daz's loss. Very little I actually need; it's a fun hobby...
Which has suddenly got less fun.
Editted to correct a mistake.

bugs happens.Report sales errors here: "There's Always Another Sale™"As fgar as we know there are currently no installers at all for the Frontier Outpost or the Skin Shaders seminar - saying they are available through Daz central is incorrect. We expect that when this is fixed all install methods will be there for the Frontier Outpost, presumably the seminar will not have a Connect option.
Just looked and on the product page it says Daz Central for the installer but there are no installers or downloads in my product library
So hopefully this will be fixed before long (almost said the dreaded S word

SHADERS : Skin Shaders Community Workshop - No links availableI use DAZ Central and purchased this product. I do not see it on there.
Delete Account? We're here. Obviously I don't know specifically what the concern is, or what originally happened, but I would echo what some of the others here have said. The best way to get any one on one issue resolved is to open a support ticket. But if you feel that you are being treated poorly there, don't feel like you are without options. Definitely ask to have your issue escalated if it's not being handled well or to your satisfaction. Ask to have the support manager included, and also escalate up to me if that doesn't help get your issue resolved. I wanted to be sure to answer your question here publicly, and ore generically like this, so that it might help not only with any problems you may be currently experiencing, but also so others can read the response if they run into frustrations in the future. This way we can give the Customer Service team, and its leader the opportunity to resolv ethe issue (as well as bring to light any challenges there), and also things can be esclated and brought to light if that isn't sufficient to resolve it. I'm very sorry you've been feeling frustrated recently. We ddefinitely want to see what we can do to help.
OK .... #1 fix the store. 80% of your customer service workload has to come from problems with sales erros, slow server issues, etc etc
1B ... Make your sales simple ... its like a math course to try and figure what you need to do, or buy, or what combo gives the best deal. It gets old.
1C ... DO NOT have a sale one day and then a better one on the same products the next, or even within a few hours via coupons, banner ads, etc
#2 ... pull back that DAZ Central fiasco. It destroyed my file structure as well the same for many others. It does not work correctly.
#3... DO NOT sell products with DAZ Central ONLY installation method.[FIXED] Frontier Outpost... DazCentral Only !Excuse me? I think we should be allowed to discuss all things. All of us are adults and It's 11:22 am my time and it's still showing Daz Central only so I will continue to draw my inferences until it is fixed. The thousands and thousands of dollars I have spent with Daz over the years should allow me to do so. I'm not assuming the worst, I'm stating facts from what I see at this moment in time.
