  • Morphs in Shaping Tab not showing?

There should be no issue, I suspect part of your problem may be that you are not using the default paths and Daz Central does use defaults. Check that DIM is isntalling to the content directories that you have set in DS, and that those are the directories with your content.

  • No Suits for Genesis8 [commercial]

There is NO ReadMe file included with the product, at least not with my install via DAZ Central, or in the manual download zip files. Is that an error in the included download files, and a ReadMe actually exists? If so, how about linking it here or something please.

There is a readme with the product...the product itself is also laid out step by step in your library...and I have posted instructions here (and several other thread)

So I think it's a problem with the G8F version of the product. I just bought the G8M NoSuit, and the PDF is there for it, but there's NOT an instruction file in the female product.

Those are used by Install Manager and, I assume, Daz Central - you can ignore them.

Thanks. So, they still don't appear in Daz Central, so i tried to put the files in "install manager\downloads" but it doesn't work too.
In manual installation, i have merged the fils in... i hope, the right folder but there are two fils "manifest.dsx & content.dsx" that i don't know where to put.

  • Interface since the "update" gone white

Looks like an old thread, but I just experienced this as well. DAZ Central just reported on the dashboard that I didn't have DAZ Studio installed even though I installed it long ago via the legacy DIM. After DAZ Central said I didn't have it installed the windows went white.

When I opened DIM  to uninstall/reinstall it no longer recognized that I had DS installed; so, there was no option to uninstall DS in DIM. But, in DAZ Central on the dashboard I clicked the prompt to install DAZ Studio. It appeared to go through a short repair process which fixed the issue.

    Hope this helps..

Daz Central looks at more than just the core application - it also checks to see if soem add-ons are installed. If choosing the install option was quick that probably indicates that it was just some plug-in or small content package that was "missing".

If you were using custom paths, especially for the Manifest Directory in DIM, then Daz central will have reset them - that would be wgy it doesn't see the application as installed.

It should appear in Daz Central, as far as I know. The folders from within the Content folder in the zip need to merge with the matching folders in My Daz 3D ibrary, on Windows you can just drag them across and say yes when asked if you want to merge them.

  • Genesis 8 takes forever to load...

to be honest I'm not sure I understood what you did there.. just to be sure anyway, when you add one or ten folder you mean you copy the relevant dependencies folders, too? because otherwise you are going to make things worst and slower..

for example inside each package you download/install, you have folder like /data /people /runtime. if you only take the data folder you'll have issues..

that's why my suggestion was not to remove everything and add stuff randomly, but to check what has issues and what slows down the loading times.. I attached a screenshot taken from the program I use to check the log file.. as you can see there's something that slows down the loading times for 16 seconds.. the full line of the log will tell you exactly where to look.. so for example if it reports the affected character is /genesis 8/johnny I move that character to a different folder. this mean remove ALL folders that character install into my pc.. it happened to me for maybe 3 characters form another store.. but as I said you'll need to check the package file you got from the store or to simply uninstall with DIM/Daz Central..

I know it seems hard but at the end of the day is better than proceeding randomly, imo..

about the rest, it should make no difference from where you load stuff, if from smart directory or content library. anyway you can right click on a content, choose Choose Custom Action, select Favorites form the Root menu dropdown and make a shortcut to that content directly into the main daz menu, so that you can load that content with a single click.

Las but not least, generally speaking Genesis 8 has longer loading times; same as Genesis 3 has longer loading times compared to Michael 4. I hope this will not be a constant for the future.

No need to remove all character related files, only the ones in ...\Data\Daz 3D\Genesis 8\[Gender]\Morphs\... will be read when loading a Genesis 8 character.

The files in ...\People\... are the ones you see in content manager, but those are "just" triggers for the morphs and have nothing to do with slow loading

Files in ...\Runtime\Textures\... are just textures and only the ones used in the loaded character are being read - Even if you remove the character morph, you can still use it's textures.

    There is no \data\people\runtime\

The way Marksinister has been tracking down the problem, is a good way to do so.

    When loading previously saved scenes, there are two more locations to check for morph files that can be removed;

    ...\Data\Daz 3D\Genesis 8\[Gender]\Projection Morphs\... and ...\Data\Daz 3D\Genesis 8\[Gender] Eylashes\Morphs\...

  • DazCentral vs Install Manager vs Connect confusion
Should I leave it for now and hope that DazCentral becomes the new All-in-One feature?

It won't. Note that Central is NOT "the latest, greatest, all-in-one", it's a simplified cut-down version of DIM specially designed for new users, who have a track record of getting confused by the full range of DIM features. And if you're not a new user, if you know how to modify and control your content library, a lot of people have realised too late that Central has a habit of destroying your custom content settings, replacing everything with the base defaults. If you're happy with Connect or DIM and find it easy to use, stay with it. There are way too many posts here from people who tried it and regretted it. IMO Central's just too trigger-happy with that default reset.

  • After 20+ years...

My rule of thumb: if it has Smart, AI (and similar) in its name, leave it the hell alone because it wont be close; nor will it allow for smart useage.

Amen to that, and I usually add the words automatic and central to that list.  What makes it doubly ironic is that the one thing that DAZ has come out with that works exceptionaly well is called DIM.  cheeky

    Haha.

Good point; I've said it does what it says on the tin, and does it well. I'm not sure how someone can have issues with DIM and expect to manage Studio - but that is apparently the reason for Daz Central.

  • No Sitric Hair download? (Solved)!

These issues only started to happen at the same time they rolled out DAZ Central. And I think we can all agree what an unmitigated disaster that has been for anyone who has tried to make that switch!

It happened before - the only oddity is that it now says Daz Central is available when it isn't.

I too am still unable to download this product, which is annoying as I love Redz' stuff!  Why couldn't this have happened with a product I wasn't to impatient to download? XD

  • No Sitric Hair download? (Solved)!

Ticket submutted to either make available thru DIM and/or manual install or refund.

That's the only way to get Daz to realize we don't want Daz Central as long as it destroys the functionality of the current content setup.

  • Problema en la instalación ayuda!!!!
Logre instalar Daz3d, pero la libreria esta vacia!!! DIM al ingresar email, diche no estar registrado... aunque daz ya me registro como usuario

Still using the online translator ;-)
