Yes, Delilah was on Rendo but I reworked the Genesis 3 morph and added Genesis 8 too. Remade the textures too (especially the brows and lips) and shaders :)

Imported the eyelashes from G8F base resolution, created the morph, imported onto G8F and the eyelash morph at first seems successful. However the eye moisture is scaling with the morph dial (please see attached) as the eye lashes have the morph applied correctly. Notice before I export from max the eye moisture vertices have not been touched. However, after successfully importing and applying to G8F eyelashes, it looks as if the dial applying the morph correctly to the lashes but for some reason scales the eye moisture when I do not want it to do. If I import the morph as an .obj into the scene, the moisture is the correct size.

some setting in DAZ is causing the morph to scale everything vs just applying the morph to the lashes.

I have set dial limits from 0% to 100% and have autofollow checked in the parameters tab for the morph. Am I missing something? Please Help?

thanks guys just wanted to do a basic compare test but does have the look, the Darius 8 HD morph should be pretty impressive when released. With this I maxed out the settings to get as much detail as could no extra lights just camera

As you requested, Richard, I applied a Growing Up morph, only, to the VW Adele character, saved it as a Preset, then applied the preset to a base G3F character. No distortion resulted, that I could tell. I took it a step further, and saved, as individual subsets, both the original morphed character, and the one created using the preset. Still no distortion. I did this, because that was how the distorted figure was first made. The green figure is the one that was made with the preset, then saved as a scene subset. Note, with the pink figure, I applied maximum bending to the fingers, too.

I used https://www.daz3d.com/adele-for-genesis-3-female as the basis of the figure, addedhttps://www.daz3d.com/growing-up-for-genesis-3-female-s (child morph), then adjusted some facial dials (under 'Actor'). Once it looked like I wanted, I saved it as a Scene Subset for later use. Please note that I very much doubt that the Adele original character is the problem, as this distortion has not happened before or since. I suspect it is a freak problem - maybe something working in the background (Windows 10) gave Studio the hickups the day I created the small character.

Will it's a freebie but there is this anime female head morph for G8F.

They also have made one for G3F. Sorry but no G8M or G3M that they've made.

If you have the DAZ Original body & head morphs products for those two generations you should be able to to create original anime style characters.

A third DAZ Original package you can add, for G3M, is the Morpheus bundle.

I had this problem, too, with a G3F character modified with Growing Up morphs, and a lot of dial turning. Nothing I did could fix it, so I gust deleted the saved preset I had, and used a different character for the scene. First image has G3 at Zero pose. Second image with hand pose of 25. Distortion only affected hands and fingers, not arms, legs, feet or toes.

That looks like a failure of the rigging to adjust to the shape - which should be set up for store morph sets. Were you using any custom morphs? Had you exported the morphed figure as OBJ and loaded as a new morph? The latter will cause problems like this and so is a bad idea even if there's no issue over not being able to share the result.

Yup. I was a die hard Poser user and hated DS but got into it for IRay. I still have my beloved Mac that just came out of the shop with a brand new hard drive but I finally caved in and got a Windows PC with NVIDIA just to do IRay during Black Friday sales. I still haven't set it up but can't wait to render an actual IRay scene instead of just a girl with no background for 24 hrs...

What exactly does IRay do that the latest version of Poser can't?  I'm still an exclusive Poser guy, using DS only as a vehicle for auto-fitting clothes and exporting new figures via WillDial's indispensable process,  Frankly, I love the fact that an enterprising Poser user figured out how to get figures into Poser that weren't actually supposed to work in Poser, and with most or all of their functionalities intact!  A part of me can't help but think of it as a sort of defiant triumph after Daz's decision to stop supporting Poser-compatibility directly.

I think the question should be what can DS/IRay do, that Poser/Superfly can not, assuming you want renders from an unbiased renderer.

The short answer is it can nothing more, and that both should be able to produce similar results, however that is in the hands of experts. The advantage of IRay, at least in the hands of "normally" skilled users, is the fact that it has a vast array of available shaders that makes getting the wanted results easier. There are some SuperFly shader packs around, but a far smaller number. Also so much content is available now, both at this store, and elsewhere, which has been set up and optimized for IRay, an order of magnitude more than that available for Superfly.

The one biggest thing right now is that one has to work harder in Poser to get a similar result (although, in the scheme of things, that's not really a downside much...lol). I made gem shaders for Poser Superfly same as I did for Iray and in some cases they look better than the Iray shaders, but I had to set up a LOT of nodes to get there ;). And unless you're node savvy (which I am not), it can be very difficult and frustrating. Other than that, there's really not much difference between the two programs. They both have dynamic cloth now, but Poser still has hair and the morph brush and bullet physics. Even so, I got so used to DS in order to learn it for Iray that I never really returned to Poser, even though I'd been using it for 18 years..

As for V4, I think the reason for her longevity was stated early on in this thread - she's the last Poser-native Daz figure and therefore lasted the longest with the most continued support. I also think, like others have speculated, that the reason for that longevity no longer exists and that it will take something equally as important for another figure to survive as long as she did. Personally, I never took to V4 or M4 and only have a mere handful of content for either one, so investing in Genesis 1-8 was an easy thing for me to do. LOL.

What if I used 3D objects that I created myself but still used the 3D print plugin.  Or used open source like make human?

Interesting question, just made this in Max and used DS to render and texture for Iray, If a model used Iray shaders or rigging from genesis in DS, would that still be allowed even though textures, shaders or rigging don't transfer over to the printing service or to the final printed figurine.

If you use Genesis rigging you create a derivative of Genesis, so you'd better check with Daz...

I actually like all the generations for one reason or another.  If I had to pick my least favorite it would be Genesis.  I was on the fence about G8 until I saw how good the facial expressions were. I've moved 90% of my G3 female figures up and am working on moving V4 up to G3 so I can move those up to G8 as well.  I don't actually NEED anything at this point. being able to transfer everything up means all of my wardrobes are, for the most part, usable.  Doesn't mean I don't still buy stuff but I could not and still be perfectly okay, which is nice. 

Which method do you use to transfer G3 to G8, if you don't mind me asking? :) I've tried a couple different methods and I'm still looking for the "best" and easiest way (best meaning least distortions - particularly with more extreme morphs) and easiest because like most people, I want to be able to do it without too much of a hassle or too many problems. lol

I use the method in the thread with Redz and Singular Blues.  Once you do the initial set up of the figures, I saved the clone and scene so I don't have to recreat it every time.  Once that's done, its very simple and very fast, I can probably do 15-20 characters or more a night easily.  It really only takes a couple minute per character.  I don't bother converting the skins because they apply perfectly from the G3F folders anyway.

You can't do this for cross compatibility (eg. M4 clothes on G8F), right?

I don't see why you could not transfer the M4 clone morph from Genesis to G8F in the same way.

I generally prefer Genesis 3 overall, because I have the most stuff for it and I'm too lazy to move every single morph over to Genesis 8, lmao.

That said, what I use Daz for, I pretty much use everything I can get my hands on: Genesis 3, Victoria 4, David 5, Laura 3, Monique 8... (even non-Daz characters like Dawn and Baby Luna. Dusk is too much of a bulky butterball for me to use) I don't limit myself to just one generation or figure set entirely. And with programs like CrossDresser (which sorely needs an update, as it's showing it's age, bad), Marvelous Designer and Blender, fitting clothes not native to one generation to another is fairly easier, though not without its problems.

But I often prefer to use Genesis 3, simply because there's more variety and utilities out there for it. Time will tell if Genesis 8 has the same staying power.

One additional thing people may wish to keep in mind (and that I'm most excited about) is the prospect of dForce being only one component of a complete integrated physics solution for DS:

"Daz 3D continues to enhance and improve Daz Studio with the introduction of dForce Physics. The first implementation will allow objects designated as cloth to simulate physical collision and interaction with other objects in the scene including a posed or animated figure. Other physics simulation types are expected to follow."

That's VERY exciting if they can get soft body physics to work. While there are some good "squish" morph products that help with added realism for figures colliding with things like chairs and what not, it would be really great to get that kind of environment collision look with any part of the body. To have a character be able to lay on something and have it look like she's actually laying instead of either floating above it or partially IN it would be great. With realistic soft body collision and physics, it would really take renders to another level! :)
