Daz 3D isn't saving my characters correctly :(
Apologies if this has been asked before, but I tried doing a search and the answers I got were not accurate.
I have been using the Face Transfer to make various Genesis 9 characters. However, when going to save, they aren't saving properly. When reopening it to continue working on the character, I get a while bunch of error messages saying that there are missing files.
If I tell it to ignore, it eventually loads the character, but the character is toilet bowl white which is useless when trying to work with the character. It seems that if I use the face transfer again, I can recreate the character, but I have around 10 characters I have created using that and regenerating each one over and over again is just a hassel.
When closing the program, I tried saving using the dialogue box which didn't work. Then I tried to save it as a scene subset, but that yielded the same results.
How can I save a character so that I can work with them again without having things like skin color damaged when re-opening?

For some reason, it won't hide DAZ+ items anymore, and it doesn't show the recent lowest price in the cart now.
Those features are working for me with DAZ Deals Pro in Chrome on indows 10.
What browser are you using? Do you have the free or the Pro version of DAZ Deals?
From everything you keep repeating, the feature actually only works if you're using Chrome (Edge is also basically Chrome and eww - I use Firefox) and paying the $60/yr (pointless if not spending a lot at Daz store). At this rate, we'll reach a point where the plug-in will be completely useless unless paying the $60/yr. 'Cause what it does now is tell me the price history (key function), gray out items from bundles (key function), give best recent price in cart (excellent!), give forum and gallery links, give readme link (links nice to have). And I can't help but notice @overdrawn and @ati have ignored every report of malfunction I've made. So there's that.
If this is what it does, great! Good stuff, very helpful. But the broken functions are annoying because the controls to use them are still there.

An updated genesis 8 figure or genesis 3 figure would be really nice from Aeon soul.
As I understand it, the Alice model was based on the PA's own daughter, and has been available for some previous figures, but they withdrew it after comments about how strange the character looked, so I'd consider an updated figure unlikely
Nope.
We don't know who invented this rumor, but it's untrue, in fact there isn't even a daughter :).As for Alice, in her "final-form", Alice-Ily (face, bodyshape and skin), she was actually available at RuntimeDNA until we closed our store there and retired all our V4 products due to the fact that we would no longer support V4 and Poser.
At the moment we're mostly focused on clothes, clothing textures and poses, but we'd like to go back to characters as well. Nothing is set in stone yet though.
That said, we're not going to release Alice herself. As many have noticed Alice is constantly evolving, slightly or greatly and she is different in each product we release. We don't want to release something we'd find ourselves dissatisfied with after 2/3 months :)
I am so glad that i finally found this forum after all of these years. I have spent a ton of time driving myself crazy trying to find Alice. This find for me is bittersweet for me, because it's sweet now since I can stop looking for her and bitter for me, because now I know that i will never have her to work with and will never be able to render her for myself. At best atleast my search has closure.
HAS THE CLOCK STARTED TICKING FOR DAZ?AI does not equal image generation and writing emails for you. Those are simply 2 headline grabbing applications of AI and I feel the distinction of what AI looks like to the layperson and what it actually is often goes lost in these conversations.
At the root of AI are many types of machine learning techniques that can be trained to automate tasks. That technology has been around and developing since the 1960's. The current bubble is generative models, which we're calling AI because they apparently fool enough people that they have some sort of creative sentience behind them. They absolutely don't, and skilled professionals who assess their suitability for creative tasks will very quickly understand that. A LLM model, as an example, is literally just a linguistic interface into a search engine that fools the layperson that it's able to create literature when, in actuality, it's laughably poor at that task. The same for image generation models.
What the recent bubble has shown, however, is that if recent technological advancements in the ML field are instead employed in a limited manner as a tool within a creative process, they can significantly improve the creative output of the individuals utilising them. The failure of Daz to design and integrate tools based on recent computational and technological advancements into Daz Studio is where the threat to their product lies. Midjourney will not kill Daz - that's not the competition, and I, for one, simply don't understand why Daz picked that battle with its recent AI Studio web product, unless it was a stepping stone to a wider strategy to understand and develop the tools in Daz Studio that I believe it needs. Instead, the threat is from other rendering and gaming engines who are looking like they might get there first. I love Daz Studio, but if in a year or two a competing product - either existing or completely new to the market - offers me tools that increase my creative output, I don't see why I wouldn't be interested. That's the threat. Or the opportunity, if you're into SWOT analysis. Me, I just want to create more output.

This is a head scratcher for sure.
Updating nvidia drivers can leave behind certain common drivers files. Choosing the usual clean install options doesn't replace all of those files. If one of those has become corrupted, it can lead to odd behavior. If you haven't already, you might consider trying something like DDU to completely remove your driver files, and then reinstall from nvidia. Thanks for the DDU suggestion. I wasn't aware this was available. I will give this a try after I search for other out-of-date copies of the hair products.
Which outfit is this? It's the "Demon Hunter dForce outfit" for G8F on the 'sity' store. Just search that name and you can find it.

This has been asked before and just tends to get contentious. In any event, there is a forum for discussing Daz AI Studio here https://www.daz3d.com/forums/categories/daz-ai-studio
Except this question, isn't really about Daz AI Studio. All you have to do is look at any of the work being done with Midjourney and whether Daz incorporates and embraces AI or not doesn't matter, the fact is the business model Daz is using now, is nearing an end. Why wait for a PA to create something, let alone pay a PA for anything when you can get what you want with a prompt? The question isn't if DAZ is going to become a niche tool, it's going to be how small is that niche going to become. Or at least that's the way I see it. It's rather sad, because DAZ 'was' heading in the direction it needed to be going, it was just moving too slowly, and now it's going to be extremely difficult to gain a larger customer base when you've got the major competition that is now out there.
The "Daz AI Studio" Forum can be used for all AI discussion, not just the generator. Looking through a whole site to find info on a particular subject is quite counter-productive when there are dedicated places for the topic of discussion.

Non-complaint: Mutant Robin -- While midlessly doing dishes and staring out the kitchen window I spied a mutant Robin with black feathers on his breast instead of red.
There was some red, but it was in a horseshoe shape with the rounded part at the top of the breast. Either that or he's been nesting on a coal pile.
Complaint: He flew away before I could get a camera.

There are several birds that look like the American Robin. The Varied Thrush is very similar. Did that arch look like a U or one of the Golden Arches? (upside down U) I couldn't find any with the latter. It could very well be a hybrid. Or, it could just have been a Juvenile that hasn't gotten its full coloring yet.
The red marks on my "robin" was sort of a comet or meteor looking thing with the head of the comet near the top of the breast, and the two long "horns" of the crescent comet pointing towards its legs. With black feathers filling in the center of the breast area between the horns of the comet. Also, the rest of the body was more black than robinish. Same size as a robin, and it moved like a robin sort of "bob, bob, bobbin along",
Perhaps it was the product of a forbidden dalliance with a crow?
Too bad you couldn't get a photo. Google photo search is pretty good for that kind of search...not perfect, but pretty good.

Ah, been looking for one of those. Too bad they're listed as "not available". Oh well, no need for a DeLorean now either.

...wonder if it will work with a Cybertruck as those have a stainless steel body as well Should also be able to hold several Mr. Fusions™ in the back.
Ford made a few stainless steel cars too, back in the last century. https://www.foxnews.com/auto/rare-stainless-steel-ford-lincoln-sale
I actually saw one of the three '67 stainless steel Lincoln Continentals ever produced, at a Lincoln convention in Williamsburg, VA. At the time, early '90s, we had a '66 Lincoln Continental (suicide doors) and felt right at home among the hundreds of old Lincolns. If you're going to time travel, do it in spacious comfort with a mid 20th century Lincoln.

Note: We sold our '66 Lincoln to a museum in Arizona where it will live out its life in dry heat.
...indeed those would make for some very classy time machines, and you could put a bunch of Mr. Fusions™ in the boot of that Lincoln.

*scratching my head* Is it possible you have more than one installation in a different place on your computer?
I'll find some identifiable files and search all my drives for them. I may not have searched everywhere when I looked originally. Thanks. Also check you don't have a Connect (through Daz Studio) install that hasn't been updated as that will be used in prefrence to any DIM instalaltion.

Easy Peasy Challenge #1Just in case. I want to clarify that I am doing this for fun. Not for any money. I'm retired now and have a bit time to spare. Don't donate any money to me. Give it someone else who needs it more than I do. I really like that part of the forum. Thanks for having me.

also a google image search
I found at daz a new cemetery with trestle for a funeral wreath by powerage

The product is on my wishlist now:
https://www.daz3d.com/cemetery-for-ds-iray
But i would prefer a more elaborated wreath which isn't a critique of the product - no PA can afford to create HQ wreaths for such an environment.
So as a summary: It would be a dream to have a product containg a) some wreaths, b)flowers and plants to mix and match and c) ready arrangements created for cemetery / church settings to put on graves or on trestles.
Of course it also would be great to have a seperate product with flowerarrangements / bouquets for normal everyday situations.
Don't have a lot of time, but looking at that arrangement, couldn't you do that with a primitive, select flowers from your collections, a bow or streamer from one of the gift box sets, shaders, and an artist's easel that you might have in your runtime?
Just a thought.
