I'm doing manual installs exclusively atm as the machine I have Daz Studio installed on is deliberately and physically separated from the internet, and I won't be connecting it to the internet ever again.  If we are forced to start using Daz Central, with no manual downloads options, well I don't have Daz Studio installed on my internet appliance, so I may have to cancel my Daz account at that point.

For those of us that rely on manual install, so that we can install product packages on machines that are physically and deliberately isolated from the internet, yeah I have absolutely zero interest in Daz Central.  And if manual downloads go away, I'll stop shopping at Daz3D.  It's that simple.

The small laptop that I use to connect to the internet currently does NOT have Daz Studio installed, as it's not well suited for such things, plus my relatively tiny hard drive is pretty much full in any case, so yeah...  I use a USB drive to download product packages to, and then transfer the packages to my Daz machine and install those using the DIM downloads folder on that machine.  Sure, it's not a 100% virus proof method either, but it's a lot harder to infect my Daz machine, which has a lot of stuff on it that I'd rather not lose...  I do backups, but after the last virus fiasco that I experienced, not to mention out of control Windows updates, well here we are...

This method has served me well for close to two years now, and my offline machine is still running like a champ.  I'll do the same with my next build, connecting it to the internet just long enough to get things set up, then isolating it as well.  Call me paranoid, but paranoid works for me.

Nah, I don't care for that either. I don't see why every product needs to be advertising DAZ Central so very prominently. If I'm looking at my product library clearly I'm not interested in DAZ Central. I'm probably using Manual Install or DIM.

Download failed according to DAZ install manager. I start Queue and get back the message in the product line that "Download Failed!" I downloaded other products without problems yesterday and today too.

I am supposed to sort this out with Daz too as somehow no product can be downloaded through the Daz Install Manager!

Same thing today too 3rd day this happens and can't download her. All other downloads are working for me....  So only this one is bugged

What security sfotware do you use? What operating system? Wheer are the downloads being stored?

Thanks, everyone, for the input. I figured it was just "the bewitching hour" in the store, but then started thinking about the old days when there were some DAZ Connect items that were Connect ONLY for a period of time (a whole year???!!) and my eye started to twitch a little - ha ha. I knew about the DIM/CENTRAL relationship thing, but hey, my eye had already started twitching. Seriously though, I wasn't going to worry about it until the DAZ store had time to settle down. I'm glad to hear it was not a new forced compliance technique again.

For future reference-- there's no such thing as Daz Central Installer only because Daz Central uses the DIM installers. If it's available for DazCentral, it's available with DIM and manual download (because those are all the same file/installer). 

Yeah, there's no reason to think that DAZ Central has anything to do with waning DAZ Studio support or that the program will change in any significant way. As far as it being more like Blender, I'd much prefer they just keep adding features to the bridge (well, I'd actually prefer they look into whether a real-time Substance Painter bridge like the one UE has would be possible).  :)

The weekly new character bundles used to bug me a bit because I remember a time when a new Victoria or something like Lee was a huge deal. Now I just think of them as product-heavy release days with a DAZ Original texture. In my opinion, the texture quality is improving (despite my complaints about Babina and Sahira having tan lines, they're both excellent textures), but the clothing releases seem rushed - not bad products, but as if the PA was on too tight of a schedule to do their best. Looking to Artstation talent has been beneficial, but I wish they could come on as regulars rather than giving us a single very good but very stylized product.

Speaking of Bridges.  They left out a Poser bridge.  I really don't think that DAZ3D needs to worry about loosing folks to Poser, esp when the bulk of the end users love Genesis 3/8.  I really needed such a bridge yesterday.  FBX in Poser is sort of borked so importing to Poser kept crashing Poser!  SO I exported via OBJ and now am trying to figure out how to set up the LED's in Poser to actually work correctly since the UV material space is set up to have the LED's in their own material zone.  Making lights in Poser is not as easy as in DS but this is a Poser only product and I really liked this environment as it's simple but interesting.  A Bridge MIGHT have allowed the lights to come over and convert over to Superfly or even Firefly and give me what I needed.  Right now Baggins is helping me but it's still a struggle!

Good to know.  I'll uninstall Daz Central and wait for them to fix the product.

Daz's current statement is that no products will be for Daz Central only.

If something shows as only being available through Daz Central, that means there was a glitch, and it's actually not available by any means, but it will be fixed.

Purchased product today apparently only accessible through Daz Central. Didn't intend to install another content manager but had already made the purchse.  Installed Daz Central and the product doesn't show.  So, no longer a manual zip download, not available in Daz Install manager and doesn't show in Daz Central.

It doesn't show up in DIM, the Manual Download page doesn't have a link to download it, and DAZ Central doesn't show it in my recent purchases. 

Same thing with DD Maeve. 

And then the "bundle buyer' purple banner thing apparently is single-use only, even though I don't see that explained anywhere. Just decided to see how much the mouse was with the discount, but there's not extra discount. Not a good start to a shopping day lol

I have that banner with %20 off mouse drops down from $$23.07 to $$18.46, off course if that is the only thing in your cart, discount would be less if you have other stuff as it is 20% of entire cart not individual items oh correction sorry appears it is 20% off each item just tested adding another item

Right, if it says it has Daz Central files and nothing else you can pretty safely assume it actually has no installers at all - generally anything that is available through Daz Central has to be available through DIM.

Chloe by Angel-Wings is also affected, only she doesn't appear in DazCentral either. I haven't tried Daz Central since the dreadful beta but it doesn't appear to be any better.

If this problem affected their ability to take our money it would be fixed immediately !

Everytime that Daz Central only issue has popped up, it has indicated a total download mess for all methods. Alert the mods in the Sales problem thread and better, submit a Customer Service report. 

Chloe is the only character I don't have from her offerings at the other store, so I am considering her now. Realistic kids are hard to come by.

And the install method is DAZ Central only. She doesn't show up in DIM- Install Manager. Mind you so are some of the other releases today so I'm hoping it's an oversight and will be fixed.

Chloe doesn't appear in Daz Central either, I reinstalled it after trying the original beta, I hope they make Chloe available through DIM and manually... This is a disaster, never mind Covid etc we've been waiting for Chloe for MONTHS !
