Ordered Items Not In DIM or DAZ Central
I placed an order for 16 items this morning. Everything went fine as usual until I opened up DIM and none of the 16 items were there waiting to be downloaded. I checked DAZ Central and they aren't there either. I tried to download and install from the order page with DIM, but it brought up an item, then said download failed. When I closed, then opened DIM again, the item wasn't there.
The order shows as complete on the order page in my account.
Edit to add: If I download manually from the order page and then open DIM, it shows ready to install.
Anyone else experiencing this?
Not a fan of the new product library layoutI begin to believe that DAZ sadly didn't learn from the Connect only debacle earlier. A continuing case where two working install methods (manual and DIM) and a Product page that doesn't generate issues are apparently being replaced by worse/damaging methods (DAZ Central).
I note that today opening DIM from the desktop after pruchasing products doesn't show the new purchases, requiring one to go to the new, not improved product to download via DIM, individually. Poor poor choice for a company that relies on customer loyalty.
Not a fan of the new product library layoutI don't get why Daz keeps doubling down on Daz Central. Whenever I would need to report an issue, I'd check my Product Library, and there used to be useful information at the top of the page where that HUGE blurb is pushing something no one wants or needs.
This just adds to my suspicion that there's more to Daz Central than just a pretty interface that lacks functionality, and that Daz is gaslighting us.
Purchased product today apparently only accessible through Daz Central.I just assumed that was the direction Daz was going.
No, it's not. DazCentral is not suitable for all users (for example people with complex setups), and Daz has stated multiple times they had no plans to phase out other install methods.
I have no trouble organizing my content on my own and have no plans to go to Daz Central (especially after seeing troubles that others are having with it).
I am very unhappy to see today that the product descriptions on my product library pages have all been replaced with "nag screens" to install Daz Central . . . so if i want to see the product description I now have to open every product page individually.
This is not cool at all.
Not a fan of the new product library layoutNah, I don't care for that either. I don't see why every product needs to be advertising DAZ Central so very prominently. If I'm looking at my product library clearly I'm not interested in DAZ Central. I'm probably using Manual Install or DIM.
+1
I loathe Daz Central and object to it being shoved down my throat.
The new page is a lot less useful, it's barely adequate now.
I'm buying less.
1) I don't like how Daz Central is being pushed.
2) I find the quality no where near the consistant quality it used to be; I'm now very picky and return items for reasons I might previously have let go.
3) Relates to 1, but like DIM. I like how it's seperate and easy to use and find products; it doesn't mess anything up and it isn't part of Studio.
4) Some of the chages were great - the new bridges and alternative files .blend for example; except they don't work. They are positioned incorrectly, scaled incorrectly and don't have particularly good shaders. Yes, I've raised a ticket, which has had no response.
5) Customer Service doesn't seem quite as good; in the last couple of months after returning items, I've had to ask them to remove items from my account that were still showing, either three or four times.
I love Daz and what it offers; this is very worrying.
Not a fan of the new product library layoutIt's all very well the Daz people pushing people to use Daz Central, but shouldn't they get it to work first? Half the Holt 8 & Weird West stuff didn't appear in my Central library, neither did Abandoned Restaurant and Toon Eren I bought this morning.
Not a fan of the new product library layoutI also am NOT interested in Daz Central and am unhappy with the information being pulled. I've been purchasing products here for almost 20 years and especially need the data regarding the large investment I've made here. This push to use DC is most unwelcome. Please restore the previous layout or a comparable one. This is not cool.
"There's Always Another Sale™" (Report sales issue here.)If we are forced to start using Daz Central, with no manual downloads options
No need to panic; read back over the last day's posts in this thread. What's happening isn't "install only by DAZ Central", it's "store glitch, no installers exist at all". Whatever bit of code was added to the store pages to display "DAZ Central install available" isn't checking first to see if there is actually an installer.
This is something that's happened several times now in the last couple of months, no-one seems to know why. There's nothing us users or the mods can do, it has to be fixed by the people at DAZ putting the missing files onto the store download servers.
See this thread:
https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/431921/not-a-fan-of-the-new-product-library-layout#latest
Now tell me this isn't a customer unfriendly move. I just checked my latest order. The order date and order number are now missing from the product pages for all of the products I checked. I rely on this info when dealing with customer service whenever there's an issue (say a certain ice cream bundle that has no sub-product page links included in the product library page). This is making my shopping experience harder and less satisfactory, not better.
Obviously I'm not the only one that is less than happy with this change. I'd say change it back, but I'm guessing this ties in to the new store software that is supposed to be coming soon. The issues that a number of us have are already noted in the above thread I linked, but IMHO the new pages should function almost identically to how the older pages did. Obviously that is not the case. New functionality is one thing, but removing functionality, with said functionality being critical information about the products I ordered, like the order date and order number, is another matter entirely.
Also, occasionally I do want the product templates as well, when I need to modify a texture for some artistic piece I'm working on, so being able to manually download those as well when available after the fact is also important to me. More products do not include templates these days, which is a separate issue but does concern me as well.
Hopefully the new store software will reduce the load put on Daz customer Service, but retaining manual download functionality, and including the order invoice numbers and dates on the product library pages should be a trivial matter at best. Das Customer Service requires this info on any customer service tickets we submit, and now extra steps have been added to make it harder to do this. Understand that I often place 3-4 orders a week thanks to the whole 'freebies mess up PC+ and other coupons' thing, so I have hundreds of order invoices in my daz account at this point. Sometimes, when dealing with weird issues like not getting credit for a bundle even though I have all of the contents of said bundle that I acquired in a previous purchase (this happened when I bought Carrera), I'll need to refer to that order number as well, and I'm not going to remember the exact date I purchased that, as it was years ago now...
Others have covered these points in the above linked thread much better than I can. And as I noted, if manual install links end up going away, then that's a deal breaker for me. So PLEASE restore the previous functionality as best you can Daz, this isn't working for me.
BTW, after waiting for almost a week for the 'FG Ice Cream Bundle' and 'Out to Dinner Bundle' items to get added to their associated Product Library pages, I did submit a ticket. I guess we'll see how that goes, and how much longer I'll have to wait to download those items.
Not a fan of the new product library layoutAll of the order numbers are still there in "Orders" but as others have said, it is not possible to search by product. I will add my voice to the number of people who do not have and definitely will not install Daz Central - I have always done my installs manually and intend to continue doing it that way.
This seems to be becoming a trend with tech companies, the idea of "we know what's best for you". Apple have done this for years and Microsoft are doing this with Windows 10 updates. I am very disappointed in Daz taking this approach and removing functionality and choice from their customers.
Not a fan of the new product library layoutThat is no longer a product library, it's nothing but a tasteless attempt to force people to use Daz central (in my opinion that is). Please bring us back our actual product library!
Not a fan of the new product library layoutI hate the new page. We know Daz central exists, thank you very much. ...
I've also put in a ticket (for all the good that will do).
Not a fan of the new product library layoutDaz Customer Service representatives in Sales Support are the nicest, most helpful I've ever encountered. Several PA's are continuing to make outstanding products that work as expected.
The product image in the Product Library is now smaller than before, but there's plenty of room for a Daz Central advertisement. Daz Central messed up a lot of people's libraries. If I have no information on a product I purchased, and it has been removed from the store, there is no other way for me to learn about it than trial and error. Quality Assurance has gone steadily downhill, while Tech Support has remained as inconsequential as ever.
Instead of removing the information we had in our Product Libraries, I would have preferred to have kept the information and have a search and categorization function ADDED according to NAME, VENDOR, CHARACTER, ENVIRONMENT, PROP, etc.

Not a fan of the new product library layoutI thought it was some kind of fluke when I caught a glimpse of it earlier, it was too much of a dumpster fire to think they were serious about it.
I'm not laughing anymore. No purchase info will make submitting tickets way more difficult (the cynic in me wonders if that wasn't part of the intent behind this, discouraging us from returning products that don't work out for us or ones that never should have made it through QA), and they're clearly more concerned about trying to shove Daz Central down our throats than anything remotely sensible or useful.
I absolutely refuse to use that disaster of a utility, and I don't every single item in my product library screaming at me about it! I'm already mad enough at how inflexible DIM can be and how subsequently removing things from their multiple layers of stupid vanity folders breaks them in Smart Content, I've got no interest in something that'll effectively nuke my library and workflow.
I also need easy access to purchase information. I don't like to make returns, but sometimes I have to because I buy something that ends up choking my computer, or needs a higher version of DS than what plays nicely with my GTX card. Take away that ease and I'll return less, but that'll be because I'm buying less.
Not a fan of the new product library layoutNo promises, but I've brought some of your concerns to the right people and they are considering some updates. It will have to go through the standard discuss/design/implement routine so it will take some time if they do like the suggested updates but the right people are aware.
At an absolute minimum the order number needs to be there, preferably as a link; the SKU and order date would be nice to have, especially for reference in a trouble ticket. Having all three in one easy to find spot is extremely helpful, to the point that the order number MUST be a link if the SKU and date are left off.
As for the write-up on Daz Central -- overkill. Put in a link each to the documentation center for Central, Connect, and Install Manager instead.
Not a fan of the new product library layoutAbsolutely insulting. I refuse to have DAZ Central on my computer, I am offended at having it continually thrown in my face.
I also am infuriated at the removal to the link to the product page. Since purchased content is hidden in the store by default, that link is the best way to double check on package contents and other information.
This is NOT making things easier for established customers. Please stop it. Give me back my link to the product page. A link to the posted Read Me on the download page would also be extremely welcome.
There is still a link to the product page.
Be Advised: Bad Girls Poses = only DazCentral Installer (RESOLVED!!)I can't download this by ANY method lol
It doesn't show up in DIM, the Manual Download page doesn't have a link to download it, and DAZ Central doesn't show it in my recent purchases.
Same thing with DD Maeve.
And then the "bundle buyer' purple banner thing apparently is single-use only, even though I don't see that explained anywhere. Just decided to see how much the mouse was with the discount, but there's not extra discount. Not a good start to a shopping day lol
Re: Bundle Buyer Purple Banner. I purchased a gift card and a PC+ new release to trigger the 20% discount. After that purchase was complete, I carted Mr. Mousie and it showed only 30% discount, left him in my cart. I decided to complete Mr. Mousie purchase, brought up my cart and the additional 20% discount was applied and checked out. Just a few minutes ago I carted another item and it too received the additional 20% discount.
My hunch is MY purple banner discount will disappear at DAZ midnight time.

"There's Always Another Sale™" (Report sales issue here.)I'm doing manual installs exclusively atm as the machine I have Daz Studio installed on is deliberately and physically separated from the internet, and I won't be connecting it to the internet ever again. If we are forced to start using Daz Central, with no manual downloads options, well I don't have Daz Studio installed on my internet appliance, so I may have to cancel my Daz account at that point.
If it says Daz Central Only it means there are no installers.
Everything says it has Daz Central, regardless.
You can submit a ticket and advise us in this thread so we can flag it up.
Not a fan of the new product library layoutI hated it when they stopped putting readme's in the product file . Sometimes you need the readme files. I only do manual downloads and installs so I sure hope that manual downloads do not go away
...yeah as I have a custom library/runtime setup (I don't bother with Smart Content anyway) and issues with the IM, I have gone to manual downloads, so Daz Central is totally useless.
