Issue with some poses after creating a new face morph
(Caveat: I'm barely more than a total noob with Blender)
I have no idea if it'll work in your case (it worked when I created simple full / partial body morphs for clothes), but you can temporarly add a subdivision modifier in Blender, fix the problem with the subvision modifier active, then remove it and export your work at base resolution to be able to create the morph in Daz Studio.

into the filter box should show the Premier add-ons (I am told). In Daz Studio, once they are installed, you have logged in, and restarted DS, they can be accessed as folows:
Geo Sculptor shows up in Window menu / Panes(Tabs)
Pose converter shows up in Edit menu / Figure / Pose
Shape transfer shows up in Edit menu / Figure / Shape
DForce manager shows up in Simulation Settings pane / Manage
Render queue shows up on Render Settings pane / Queueall of the show up ... besides Geo Sculptor... :-(
Geometry Sculptor is in the Tools menu, at the bottom.
Installing, activating, and accessing Daz Studio Premier featuresYou should probably mention in your literature that Shape Transfer is limited to Genesis 3+. I tried to convert a Genesis 2 figure (Belle 6) and Shape Transfer refused to do it.
Missing /data/ ... /Genesis8_1Female.dsfWhen loading Scene Subsets that I have saved of pre-formed characters, I get the following error:
2024-10-08 11:23:39.861 [WARNING] :: Could not resolve: /data/Daz 3D/Genesis 8/Female 8_1/Genesis8_1Female.dsf
The file is there. (see attached).
It finds other stuff in the /data/,,, folders.
for example:
2024-10-08 11:22:51.041 [INFO] :: Loaded morph deltas: 0m 0.1s - /data/Daz 3D/Genesis 8/Female 8_1 Eyelashes/Morphs/DAZ 3D/Base/bs_EyelashesLengthUniformUpper.dsf
So I'm note sure what its complaining about.
The figures seem to work...
Anyone seen this?
Any thoughts on resolving?

Making the G8 base expressions (and any expressions that are using them) work on G8.1 requires removing dummy/placeholder expressions that are installed to G8.1 morph folders - These dummy/placeholder expression files have no other function than to prevent the base G8 expressions from loading.
The dummy/placeholder files are located in;
...\Data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female 8_1\Morphs\Daz 3D\Base Pose Head\ (255 files, can be more if you have additional DAZ expression packs)
...\Data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female 8_1\Morphs\Daz 3D\Expressions\ (24 files, can be more if you have additional DAZ expression packs)
...\Data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Male 8_1\Morphs\Daz 3D\Base Pose Head\ (255 files, can be more if you have additional DAZ expression packs)
...\Data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Male 8_1\Morphs\Daz 3D\Expressions\ (24 files, can be more if you have additional DAZ expression packs)Please make sure you are removing the files from G8.1 morph folders and not G8 morph folders.
Note 1; If you are logging in to DS and letting DAZ Connect (within DS) to install/update your content, you may have these also in an other location that has "\Data\Cloud\" in it's path
Note 2; Do not remove any files from "FACS" or "FACSExpressions" foldersThese are the files called "alias_head_*.dsf", correct?
All the files in those folders are there just for one purpose, preventing morphs made for G8 from working on G8.1
Daz Studio Storing Morphs in wrong folder.Hello, I have had this same problem for a while. several years ago I tried creating a custom morph and made the same mistake. Now those custom morphs have infected every character I save as scene subset.
Like the OG poster, when I delete the problem folder all my characters come with missing morphs. Below is an example of new G8 figure with Hourglass morph and then the figure after being saved as scene subset with the same morph now asking to come from the custom morph I made years ago. the file also changes from the original author "P3Design" to my moniker "PhoenixCreed" as highlighted.
Ideally I'd like to get Daz3D to pull the morph from it's original location and stop pulling it from the custom morph. hopefully without having to delete the problem custom morph file and then having to redesign my entire cast.
I've attached a 3rd image showing the error report when the custom morph folder has been deleted.
Thanks!-PC
Why am I seeing this in my Log file?It usually means something you do have installed has a link to something you don't - most likely a corrective morph to make whatever is associated with the error play nicely with the morph that is not present. Sine you don't have that morph, it doesn't matter that the coirrection cannot be linked - you can generally safely ignore such warnings.
Installing, activating, and accessing Daz Studio Premier featuresThe plug-ins provided as part of Daz Studio Premier need to be installed, like any plug-in, through Install Manager with Daz Studio closed. In DIM pasting
rx::ci::^Premier -
into the filter box at top-right should show the Premier add-ons and allow them to be installed, assuming that you have the Download Filters set to include plug-ins.
Once installed, open Daz Studio and log in to your account (Connect>Login..., for the plug-in/feature activation you do not need to update metadata though you do if you also wish to download the content that is tied to your membership; that does not include the free bundles, which are not tied to remaining a member). You should then be prompted to restart Daz Studio.
Once DS is running you can find the new add-ons in the following locations:
- Geometry Sculptor shows up in the Tools menu (remember that, like other content creation tools, it disables any GeoGraft's mesh hiding and won't show interpolated hairs for dForce/Strand Based Hair)
- Pose Converter shows up in Edit>Figure>Pose
- Shape Transfer shows up in Edit>Figure>Shape
- DForce Manager shows up in Simulation Settings pane / Manage
- Render Queue shows up on Render Settings pane / Queue
Premier QuestionsI just want to know why they release a detailed document about daz premier or a video explaining in depth it. It wouldn't take much time to do it.
i would like to know if the new geometry scuptor can sculpt in hd mesh, if i can split head and body morphs maintaining the hd morphs and the with the shape transfer you can transfer hd morphs. And what about the blender bridge? Its a new plugin? Its a update from the already existing blender bridge plugin? Can it transfer hd morph and transfer the entire scene with exact settings and position of lights and camera to blender?
Its just sad they no specified this, but the way the things are going i bet all this new "features" of premier is only for base resolution thats why they make poor a explation of them. And they had the audacity to remove manfriday plugin from the store.I bet that with the new versions of daz3d you will no longer be able to use the old manfriday plugins. This such di.. move from them. I love daz with all my hearth but they need to stop trying to trick consumers to buy useless things and start creating real useful things like ways of editing hd morphs inside daz, create a real documentation for daz studiobetter cloths for g9, a new render engine, better optimized library and ui scaling for 4k monitors. And after all that they can create a subscription plan or make daz only subscription only.
Issue with PHMEyelashesCurlYou don't need to worry about it as long as this morph (Eyelashes Curl) really works if you dial / zero it. But you may try:
- press F2, Clear DSON cache. Reload a G8F or G8M, save the scene... see if it's okay.
- if the issue persists, completely uninstall Starter Essentials packages and reinstall them via DIM.
Premier QuestionsQuestions, and feelings about the offer:
What plugins are in the premiere? -> I already have a few, plus several converters and morph packs. List the plugins and content, please
A free Character Bundle Each month -> I wasn't going from G8.1 + G8 to G9. I have just 25 G9 out of 1800, while more than 800++ G8. Converting G8,G8.1-> G9 could cause problems, I want to see the converters in work first + What about duplicate data? Will I have 100GB+ in duplicates?
Free Premier Exclusive content (other users can't even buy it) for free each time we release a Character Bundle (Even if you don't buy the bundle!) -> Do you own those items or only have them till you have a subscription? Could you transport them out to other engines?
Seeing that there is a Premier level of offer and a different DAZ+ offer that could be a selling point. (This is not listed, but it will cause a major problem within DAZ+ members....)
I think the Premier is not for people who have already a large library as some of them are more picky about what to buy next. But for new users just before Xmas, it will be popular for at least 1 month... December
ps: If they would had said to pay a one-time fee for PA tools, that would have been interesting. but this is the path of Adobe...

I listed a bunch of questions several pages back. There hasn't been an official answer for any of them. I have 22 months left on my DAZ+ subscription. I'm being offered ZERO months of DAZ Premiere in exchange. Why would I give up all that time for literally nothing, especially since I can't get the time back if Premiere doesn't deliver?
That sounds odd, it should reflect what you paid for the remaining time plus 1 - please open a Sales Support ticket.
DAZ Premiere claims to have several wonderful tools that I would like to use but I have no idea how well they work nor what exactly they work on (iray only or the old mat system as well, G9 only or also older figures, strand based hair, dynamic clothing, etc.). I'm not sacrificing 22 months of DAZ+ in the hope that maybe DAZ Premiere's tools will do what I want. I'd rather flat out purchase tools that I can get a refund on if they don't work rather than play the lottery with this new scheme.
They are mainly derived from Man Friday's tools (Geometry Sculptor is Mesh Grabber 4) - as far as I can see they do not give access to things you cannot do with other tools, albeit with more work - and I don't think render Queue is tied to Iray, none of the others are. However, they don't give access to HD morph creation/editing or to dForce hair creation/editing either.
If DAZ wants this to work, they need to work with us. Why not offer those of us with extended DAZ+ memberships something like $5 per month to get the software features while we wait for our DAZ+ memberships to run out? Sure, we won't get the extra coupons or bundles, but it's better than trying to blackmail us into giving up months (or years!) of current benefits for a month or two of a possibly better deal.

Yes, I am getting different results in Public Build and general release - it is very strange, I have sent my experience in to Daz.

I reckon this has been asked but I can't find an answer:
"Integrated export options allow you to easily transfer your Daz content directly to other popular 3D software."
Does this mean we will no longer be able to convert to Unity or Unreal in the free version from now on?
This has been a fundamental requirement in my workflow, and I invested in Daz and interactive licenses specifically because it was free to do so.Yeah, quite a lot is confusing.
- Is 4.23 free or Premier? I get that the Premier version has the extras but, if so, what does 4.23 basic have over 4.22?
- Are these Premier add-ons just the same as those many of us have already paid for? If so, will those we have stop working?
- Are all new developments, including the ever-receding DS5, going to be Premier only?
Daz 4.23.0.1 Beta was just posted today for download in DIM.

Well, shall we further confirm something ? So, the OBJ you've mentioned is the geo-graft which you fitted to G9 with Transfer Utility, right ? Then you imported an OBJ as a morph onto the geo-graft rather than G9 by using Morph Loader Pro, then you want to ERC Freeze on the morph, correct ?
If so, you need to firstly Adjust Rigging to Shape on the geo-graft (DO NOT unfit it !)... otherwise you'll find nothing to Freeze...
You know.....sometimes when you work to hard at something, the solution is right in front of you. PALM TO FACE.... I Was so tired that i did this once and it worked, but becuase i accidently Transferred the obj without changing the setting to Current, and i had to redo the whole process again... I Was so frustrated at that, as i finally had it working; therfore, when i transferred it again correctly, and applied the morph, I DIDNT ADJUST THE FRIGGIN BONES! AHHHHHHHHHH! No wonder the changes werent showing up! That was the missing step that my brain couldnt rememeber even though i did it 10 min before.... PALM TO FACE, PUKE IN TOILET, You get it.... WOW!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU! You are a legend and you helped me walk through it! Even though i knew what to do (initially), i just couldnt see through the fog! Thanks for being my lighthouse! Truly!

I believe you only get credit for what you actually paid.
Quoting DAZ_Steve:
"It's a different offer for each person. We take what you paid for the membership you currently have, see how many months of Premier that equates to, then round up (so we give you a full month of Premier instead of a partial one.)"
pity they don't factor in the ownership of the items that now apparently come free with the subscription. Some of us bought the head and body morph sets for each generation, so getting those for free doesn't really make for a reason to subscribe. but clearly the offer was designed by the accounting department to offer the least possible.
