I think you need to expand that slash - NURBS conversions/poly conversions. It's meaning tools that make a new mesh around an existing mesh, not NURBS used freehand (or just by eye around the DAZ mesh).

Of course DAZ can't copyright the human form, but they can copyright the Genesis/Victoria 4/Michael 4 form. Remember that they are already allowing things, modelling by hand around the figure to create clothes or add-ons, that they don't have to allow in law; the question is one of where they draw the line on permissions, not of their inching the line out to annex virgin territory beyond the usual scope of copyright.

Hi Doctor Jellybean, the third option yellow colored icons are unisex; for both Victoria & Michael 4. Most yellow icon effects also work with Victoria 5 and Michael 5 textures, The ones that get cropped in generation 5 for template differences you can most of the time fit by moving them around using the Layered Image Editor viewport and move cursor.

Hi SereneNight, remember that you can make those bruises lighter with the Layered Image Editor by controlling its opacity.

As stated previously, you can't 'choose' a directory to install Hiro 4 into. It MUST be installed into the same runtime folder as Michael 4, or it wont install. Find out which folder M4 is installed into, and give the installer the path to the folder which 'holds' that runtime folder, and it should install OK. I can't see that it is a problem with Mountain Lion at this stage, since the other files installed correctly.
Are you sure that M4 installed correctly? Can you see a runtime folder structure that Michael is installed into. Can you load M4 on his own before you try to install anything else?

Here is an old ad I did with Michael 4.

I'm trying to install some old content on a new Mac running the latest version of OSX 10 Mountain Lion 10.8.1.

I've downloaded and installed Daz Studio 4.5 with no problems and added the Genesis starter items. I've also added Michael 4 from archived copies of original Daz installers.

However when I try to do the same for other content I have such as "Hiro 4" and "Ethnic faces" the installer fails with the message "can not finish installation as the file does not exist".

I have no option but to click "OK" to this and the installer then quits and nothing is installed.

How I can re-install all my original content when I only have the Daz installers?

GenX is a script (I think) that works like this - if you have in the past (before Genesis was invented) made some characters for Victoria 4 or Michael 4 you can then transfer them to Genesis with the help of GenX. It has nothing to do with clothing. Clothing made for V4 or M4 fits Genesis via autofit.

non sono riuscito a trovare un supporto o forum di DAZStudio in italiano... :exclaim:

Sono un grafico e caddista, uso mac e ho provato a scaricare Daz3D 4.5 per dilettarmi un pò con questo software e magari ricavare qualche render di figure e pose caratteristiche per inserire su eventuale grafica pubblicitaria...
Ho testato la versione standard per capire la logica generale del software (l'inglese non lo conosco) e capire se poteva andare bene per quello che mi serviva... :-)
Precedentemente avevo famigliarizzato con Poser9, ma la qualità di Daz3D mi sembra superiore...
Ho installato quindi la versione DAZStudio_4.5_Mac64 e GenesisStarterEssentials_1.3_trx e tutto sembra funzionare correttamente, così mi sono deciso di acquistare Victoria 4 bundle. Michael 4 bundle e un altro pacchetto di figure, una lunga lista di files da scaricare... :red:
Ho installato tutti i componenti per Mac, ma quando apro DazStudio solo una parte dei componenti installati vengono visualizzati su "Smart Content", ma Victoria e Michael nemmeno l'ombra... :bug:
Ho riprovato ad installare di nuovo i componenti, re-importare i metadata (anche se non vedo elencati i metadata riguardanti Victoria e Michael)... ma niente, Victoria e Michael non si vogliono far riconoscere... :coolmad:

Se qualcuno mi potesse dare una mano, sarei molto grato, oppure qualche link dove poter chiedere semplice supporto in italiano... :question:

I am going to read into it, and after that make a decision what path i am going to follow.

At work i have the 3d tools at hand (Maya / Lightwave), and we have made some characters in the past, but after playing in daz i convinced my fellow colleagues to use daz. Great content, and we just can't model as fast as it is cheaper to buy content like clothes in the stores.
A shame that the content for victoria 4, or michael 4 sometimes doesn't fit on genesis. Like the shoes and the feet positions in poses for example.

I'm almost certain it doesn't support geografting. I recently purchased this and it's not showing up anywhere. Or I'm blind. Sometimes I have issues finding stuff. <.<</p>

Transmap nothing -- These things ain't human, so I'm just gunna make my own texture for their entire body once the wings are done. That'll solve blending issues. Besides, Genesis's textures (Even the "Michael 4 Elite" ones) are too small for me. I have this weird affinity for rendering at 10000x10000. I'd go higher if I could. Knowing me I'll probably have at least an 8192x8192 texture for each material zone.

I am working in Carrara 8 with Michael 4. I need an anatomically correct Micheal with genitals. However, I dont see any options to add genitals as with Micheal 3.

Any suggestions as to how I can show the genitals?
