Who's Next to Join the G8 Family?
New dress today lists a Paige 8 morph. The '8' may simply be a typo. Who may be comming this week? Latonya 8 ... Cat 8 ... Mei Lin 8?
And here I was, excitedly hoping we'd finally get a Lee 8 or Gianni 8 (or Leo 8, considering we haven't had a Spartan-theme for this generation yet). Now I'm expecting a fourth female figure in a row, and I see at least two others on that list that I don't recognize that are female. :(
I'm having issues with rigging my ponytail. The boens are created aligned along the twist axis, you then need to use the Joint Editor tool to fine tune them (there are align options to position the next bone at the end of the oen before, to help).
Adjust Rigging to Shape is for morphs - you have to do, and memorise, the basic rigging then the command will look at the chnages in the mesh from a morph and move the bones to have the same relationship to the new mesh as they had to the base.

QuietDamn the time difference, only saw the upload a little while ago. Still need to look at the texture, body and hair but cannot thank you enough for the head morph, what a difference.
GoZ and Genesis 8 eyelashes....Has anyone else noticed that sending a genesis 8 female (I don't have the male yet) to Zbrush via GoZ results in a strange artifact. The first time I use GoZ to send a G8f figure to Zbrush it works fine, the character and any conformed figures such as the eyelashes get sent to Zbrush as individual subtools. However, if I close Zbrush and send the figure again, then only the eyelashes appear as subtools (three copies of them!!)
I can work around this by clearing the GoZ cache, either manually or from within Zbrush, after which the figure will transfer normally (once). What is going on here? Something strange about the eyelashes? Is there a more permanent solution?
Model and Skin within X-Fashion Finesse Outfit For Gen 8 F?It looks like it might be Victoria 8 with some custom morph adjustments and different skin.
QuietThanks for the morph, nice work!!
Celebrity Look-a-Likes for 3D figures Part 2Okay, I've uploaded the morph here: https://sharecg.com/v/91905/browse/21/DAZ-Studio/Quiet-MSGV-Morph-for-Genesis-3-Female
No textures included, will look into what rules I need to follow for future works if I want to share them.
Please test, I'm hoping I've saved it correctly. Any technical issues with the morph are offered as is, unless anyone wants to tweak further and share the updates.

Looking for shirtwaist dress, G2 or G3Wilmap has something close at her site for G2; you might be able to turn off the top part of the dress' texture and put on a regular button-front shirt and shader them together. https://www.wilmapsdigitalcreations.co.uk/view_product.php?id=404
For that matter, she's got a skirt/blouse pair that might work: https://www.wilmapsdigitalcreations.co.uk/view_product.php?id=399
EDIT: Jan has a shirtwaist dress for Genesis at ShareCG: http://www.sharecg.com/v/55357/gallery/21/DAZ-Studio/50s-GalPal_Updated
Apparently, it upconverts to G2F fairly well; I have a G2F version in my library, and the metadata says I transferred it from the original, and I don't see any texture stretching. The only downside is that the skirt has, as they say, VOLUME -- it kind of looks like it has a bustle, actually. Might be worth trying to dForce it, with dynamic strength lower than 1, to see if some of the volume can be tamed. There's also a Poser V4 version which is almost exactly the shape you want in the skirt: http://www.sharecg.com/v/55801/gallery/11/Poser/Classic-Chick-GalPal-II
Apparently, I brought it over to Genesis via SRMS -- Sickleyield's transfer system from a while back -- and it looks like it survived OK. No idea how well it would do being brought from V4 to G3.How to achieve a better clothing fitI don't think there are tutorials for what you asked.
Just some thoughts - why not add a Smoothing Modifier to the Genesis 8 figure with base shape and manualy change the Collison Target to the clothing item not fitted to the figure. Now shrink the clothing and see if you can get the desired result on the genesis figure. Then hide everything but the Genesis 8 figure and export an OBJ with the deformed figure in Base Resolution. Finaly use the MorphLoaderPro to load the OBJ as a morph. Since the smoothing would affect the overall shape of the figure I would use the Attenuate feature of MorphLoaderPro to limit the deformation on certain areas defined by a selection group created before in the Geometry Editor or even better a by a dFormer Weight Map.
QuietDecided to have a crack at it, results attached.
I grabbed the XNALara model you metioned, which gave me great shape reference. Created some profile renders of the face, fed those through FaceGen to use as a base in Daz. Exported over to Maya and used a combo of manual tweaking and the sculpting toolset.
She's far from perfect, mainly some issues with the eyelashes and the waterline, but only a quick weekend project so this is where I finish with her.
I'll try figure out how to package her up as a freebie tomorrow (if anyone has some helpful links they can point me to, it would be most appreciated).
Face morph only, no clothing or hair. Hesitant to share the textures as well; they are based on the RyJeane textures, but I overlayed features from the XNALara model.
Nice work, would love to try the morph, just keep in mind that you cannot share any part of any DAZ or PA asset, it has to be all yours from a template and not over another texture.
If you like to sculpt...And HumbleBundle has Silo 2 on sale for $55 in their store right now as well
How is Silo for sculpting or is it purely a box modeller?
Can't compare to 3D Coat's sculpting capabilities...Silo is maybe a little better than Hexagon at sculpting?
Laurie
Thanks. I'm getting re-acquainted with Hexagon right now but it still isn't as stable as I would like. The sculpting in Hex is similar to Blender's Proportional Edit but perhaps a litlle easier to work with. So if Silo can't offer somthing those two don't have then I'll stick with the free options.
As for 3DCoat - I had it on trial for a while a couple of years ago and found it difficult to get stuff from and back to DAZ Studio. Right now I'm only really interested in morphing rather than creating from scratch although I might progress to that one day (been saying that for years though).

I never really considered what Hex does as "sculpting" really....it's so much like the morph brush in Poser and I guess that's why I liked it :)

Audacious outfit not workingWhat do you mean by 'support shape'?
Sorry, I meant to write supported shape - one for which the clothing already has a matching morph.
QuietAmazing thank you for doing that. Easiest place to share freebies tends to be ShareCG. www.sharecg.com
Textures would be a bonus but the morph is the major thing I was after.
Brilliant work.
Celebrity Look-a-Likes for 3D figures Part 2I know she's a game character but as she's based on an actual person I'm looking for anything resembling Stefanie Joosten.
I replied in your thread as well, but figured I would copy it here too as it fits the topic:

Smarter autofitIf you have ever done any modeling and understand how polygons and vertices work, you will have a whole new understandfing towards DS and autofit. It really is amazing that it all works like it does already.
prior to genesis 1 you had to transfer each of the morphs in the figure to each part of clothing each time you fit it and there was no smoothing or collision back then..
if you were a poser using and using V4/M4, you had to use morphing clothes to transfer any morphs to the figure in order to get any type of fit and then save that custom clothing for future use, it was a total pain, but it was the only way back then. Amazing how spolied we are now, LOL.
Nothing wrong with wanting improvements!
Yes, I want dForce to be as fast and as good as ATP and similar cloth similation utilities.

AIUTO...CHI CONOSCE L’ITALIANO?
