  • Facially, V4 more versatile than Genesis characters

I used both since their creation, and being around for the many forum wars, I can say that probably has a lot to do with it. People will defend what they use, often even when their arguments don't always hold water.

    This^

The title of this thread says "more versatile than Genesis Characters"
However the body of the post makes a comparision between a figure with nearly twelve years of  patches ,Magnets re-weighting and content support....
and the versions of genesis than have only been out for less than four years. G 3/8

What say we compare V4 to her immediate successors
    Genesis 1 and Genesis 2??

You will find there is NO comparison because with the GENX 2 plugin I have access to every face&body morph ever created for V4, plus HD
not to mention her entire catalogue of clothing and skins
now add to that every morph created for G1/G2
and not just the young, Ideal BMI white girls, but the many Alien& creature morphs from Hellfish Studios and others.

V4 is a vestigial relic of a bygone era in Figure tech.

IMHO the only  reason to cling to the delusional notion that such a figure  is superior, is if one is using a certain
"Figure design and animation "program that does not support modern day standards.

  • Who is she?

It is Osuine by Sangriart over at Renderosity. It's definitely the correct texture and it appears to partialy use the head morph; about 70% Osuine morph and maybe 30% one of the Daz core ladies such as Olympia 8 or Charlotte 8.

I actualy own osuine and didnt recognize her. But you are right on the texture and you may be right about the moroh as well, i would expect Olympia but i will give it a go and post my results here.

  • Noob question

Quick noob question. Do Genesis 3 props (bows, guns, etc) work on Genesis 2 models? I’ve found threads on how to fit clothes, or transfer morphs, but nothing about props. Thanks! lol

  • Zbrush morph breaks posing

You may just need to adjust the rigging to the shape, though getting the eyes right can be tricky from what others have said - Edit>Figure>Rigging>Adjust Rigging to Shape. You may also, or instead, need a morph to correct the eyelid. Once you have a solution you will need to link the chnages to your morph, via ERC Freeze.

  • Alt Style Glasses promo question

Given that it's an add-on for Teen Kaylee 8 I'd expect it to be her. The eyebrows look right, anyway. The morph may have some dial-spinning.

  • Zbrush morph breaks posing

    Hello everyone!

I'm new to working between DAZ Studio and ZBrush, and I just made a whole head sculpt by using GF8 as a base. I was able to load the created morph in DAZ smoothly, but there's heavy distortion occuring when I attempt to close the eyelids, they don't follow the eyeball.

Are there parts of the model that you shouldn't touch in Zbrush to not mess with posing in DAZ? I wonder if it's safer to use existing morphs in DAZ to create a face close from what I want to do, then use Zbrush for more details?

Thanks in advance for the answers!

  • AIUTO...CHI CONOSCE L’ITALIANO? PARTE UNDICI

Comunuque vi siete accorti che siamo rimasti solo 3 di moi su questo Thread, tu, io e Muscleman. Dovremo cambiare il titolo e chiamarlo "chiacchierata fra noi 3".

    Restano solo i migliori! wink

Non ne ho la piu pallida idea.

Ah, peccato!

Thanks, EP.  I should say that Tomato Boy's head is a morph for the free killer tomato offered by GK Dantas used in Challenge 33.  Anyone can get their own killer tomato by following the instructions in Stezza's second post in the following thread.  https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/168881/carrara-challenge-tomatoes-et-al-33-chat-time/p1

  • Is there a fit control for victoria 4?

There is a free morph at Renderosity: Breast Spandex for V4 2nd Skins

It only alters the mesh between the breasts though. Works fine on most clothes with mesh smoothing added.

The old Generation 3 figures had "spandex" morphs for the chest and hip areas but those weren't included in the Morphs++ sets for Generation 4.

  • Substance Painter Vs. Silo Vs Hexagon

I have  acquired alot of modeling software over the years.

    Silo 2.1,an old MODO 401,Maxon Cinema4D with bodypaint3D
    all on the Mac platform.
On windows, I have  Lightwave3D 2015,Blender for artists
    and Hexagon.

I actually used the "Silo man primitive" to create My universal
development mesh that is the basis for all of my clothing models
    for Genesis 1,2,3

I tend to use MODO only for sculpting custom face  morphs
and Maxon C4D to build out My custom outfits from my base mesh.

My typical time from base mesh to completed outfit ready for the Daz transfer utility, is about four hours.
    ( see picture attached)

I personally find Hexgon tools way too primitive and clunky for creating anything worthwhile, I open the program and immediately feel like I am tossed back to the year 2002 angry.....so Kudos to DZfire !!

As I only create clothing for my personal usage I dont bother with UV's at all, only simple material zone assignments as I use C4D procedural shaders in animations and the amazing principled Shader for high quality stills in Blender.

I am planning on at least partially replacing my aging C4D with
Lightwave2015  as the render engine in my animation VFX pipeline.
So I may eventually end up doing most of my modeling in lightwaves time tested Modeling app.

  • Full Body Morph on Eg Dog 8

Also I se that setting a morph at +3 (eg) doesnt do anything more than give you the same morph as +1 - any ideas to get around that welcome :)

you can try putting a larger value in the Parameter settings... click on the little cog next to the morph slider and put a biggerer value in and see if that changes anything.

  • Full Body Morph on Eg Dog 8

I guess, you can encrease head size in DS with standard dial “head propageting scale”, then export the dog to *obj with base resolution. After that load your *obj file with “Power loader pro” and save it as a morph dial. Must work in Carrara.

  • Full Body Morph on Eg Dog 8

the best way is to use your Carrara edited obj in morphloader in DAZ studio and save as a morph asset there

    thanks Wendy :)

No problems with the mesh changing or the scale or xyz coords changing when going from Carrara to Studio?

as long as you export the dog obj at base resolution and import it the same scale

it has a developer kit figure you can convert to a prop and save to edit in Carrara too

Hya I aquired Dog8 after Bunyip's kind destriuctions on how to get it to work.

I wondered what the best way to do a n FBm on it?

I'd jut like an easy way to make the eyes a tad lower and the skull a bit higher without having to use individual morph areas,

Also I se that setting a morph at +3 (eg) doesnt do anything more than give you the same morph as +1 - any ideas to get around that welcome :)

    thanks again

    regards from oz :)
