Daz Central Ending - New Enhanced Install Manager
Gosh I love it when Daz Central reincarnates again for a while and I can actually SEE what I've got.
Please ... change your mind, Daz and give it a permanent stay of execution.
I've always installed via DIM - but for ease of access to owned products Daz Central's visuals win hands down.
Hot New (Northern) Season, New Sales Thread: Report Issues Here "Reporting Only"tsroemi said:
Hi all, maybe it helps DAZ folks figuring things out if we report where the calendar is working, too? So I'm in Germany (UTC+1), and I usually open the calendar around 8 or 9 in the morning here, which is right after DAZ midnight. It's working fine. Sometimes, when I'm checking the store rather late, I see that the calendar has already changed to the next day, and then, there's the same things in there as before, but I just don't click on it then, and in the morning (= after DAZ midnight), there's a new selection. I'm usually in my iPad, if that helps as well. Hope that made sense. Hopefully, things will get fixed for you guys really soon!
I can confirm that. As always, the daily turnover is at 8 a.m. Central European Time, and the date and the Advent calendar offers have worked so far. Apparently this 'varies' a lot from time zone to time zone. But why?
Roll back to 4.21 ?? Too many bugs in 4.22!Catherine3678ab said:

I didn't even update to 4.22 yet, but my content sliders, with the exception of expressions, suddenly and permanently stopped reliably working on new figures. My project is dead in the water. I haven't updated anything since my last thread over a month ago when I rolled back the 10 / 19 Default Resources, Default Template, and Scene Builder updates just to be able to properly render again. 200+ stopped working, Shape Shift stopped working, half of the sliders in Fangtastic stopped working, and I keep getting corrupted save files when I save my scenes. I check the logs and see all of these failures when loading purchased content. Nothing on my system changed since then. Everything worked for weeks, then suddenly it wasn't. I didn't move any files either. It's like the software is disabling the content as soon as I try to use it.
I've tried the base Gen 9, Gen 9 Dev Load, Matt, and Fabrice. I've rebooted the system a dozen times, restarted the software, refreshed the content, reset the database, done a dozen malware scans to confirm my system isn't infected. Nothing I do fixes this spontaneous problem, and I can't create or edit any characters. I edited one before realizing there was a problem, and it corrupted the file when I saved. I tried to pose it and the eyes slid out of the sockets, the mesh stretched and disgusting looking ways, eyebrows and eyelashes detached, the eyes crossed, the right eye moved forward, I couldn't refit anything to the figure, the morphs on the face disappeared, the right eye slid forward and got bigger, it became impossible to move anything out of alignment, and it started lagging and dropping frames, If I imported the character into another scene, the face morphs would still disappear, and the hair would go away too. I lost the character. I had to delete the scene and the character file in hopes of preventing the problem from spreading to other characters.
I don't know what to do.
:-( I'm not sure either. Okay, you've tried rebooting.
Sometimes, usually for other issues though, asking the program to select another layout, then switching back, jogs its memory to get the panes back in order.
One time I couldn't get D/S to read a data folder until, with D/S closed, I went to the data folder and using the OS, told it to 'refresh' [arrow on the top bars of the folder panes] ... then went back and opened D/S and it could then read the morphs.
I have seen in the forums some talk of D/S having problems with content if/when "both" DIM and Daz Centrale were used to download/install content. Products had to be uninstalled using the same method they were installed by ... and then use "only 1" method [I think DIM is the preferred] to download/install content.
Problems with creating could be issues with the CMS which has to be running in order for things such as the transfer utility and content creation tools to work properly. Make sure the address for its location is correct in D/S [general preferences editor options].
Could you expand on: asking the program to select another layout, then switching back, jogs its memory to get the panes back in order.? Are we talking rearranging the panes? I'm just trying to pinpoint what I need to do here. I'm still familiarizing myself with the lingo.
Okay, I just refreshed all of the folders. I didn't see anything new pop in, or anything go away. I've really got a lot in there.
I didn't install DAZ Central. I didn't even know that existed lol I've only been using DIM. Then I would go into DS and not be able to use my content because it was grayed out. So, I had to complete the install there. I don't know if that's abnormal, but that was the only way to use my purchased content.
For the CMS, I see an address in there, but I'm not sure what it should be. This is totally new territory for me.
How do you manually instal?Sure, this has probably been answered a million times but when I search, all I see is stuff about Daz Central going away and neDIM. No idea why that would be. Anywho. If you have time can you wank an old man through all this technology?

Hello all,
I've read here that many people liked the UI of Daz Central. Now that it's retired I would like to suggest you DSX Catalog as a standalone replacement to view product thumbnails at different sizes, print the catalog, etc..
Disclaimer: I'm the developer of DSX Catalog
Hi Leonardo,
Sounds like a great way to search my DAZ content :D . Is there a way to get your product to work for products that I have bought from other sites like Renderosity?
Hello, the app is working with products containing a manifest file. If a thumbnail is not available because of the different store, can be easily added manually and the app will show it.
DAZ Shop products are currently recommended because packaged in a standard way and containing metadata for the Smart Content feature.
DSX Catalog is available on the Microsoft Store and certified by Microsoft. It's running in a sandbox and can't touch the system, so it's completely safe to install.

Rather odd ... Daz Central is suddenly working again this morning.
I really hope this is a rethink on the decision to close it and not just a temporary error.
I've really missed it and found myself much less creative without it.
It is still intended to be shut down, but it is temporarily reactivated.
Yes, it has been (temporarily) activated. It even includes my most recent purchases as of yesterday.
By chance are the deveolpers reassessing it? One can only hope.
No, this is a purely temporary stay of execution, not a full reprieve.
Daz Central is going away. As a Daz Central user what does this require of me?jamesdavis373 said:
From the email I got yesterday, I needed to Uninstall my content that was in my old manager and then Uninstall Daz Central. Then go to the Install Manager and go through the install process. Then load my content back using the new Manager.
There should be no need to unisntall the content, DIM will see the records and path settings that were used in Daz Central.

I just wish it had happened in time for the big cart full of stuff I bought a couple of days ago.
Daz Central Ending - New Enhanced Install ManagerI liked Daz Central for the large thumbnails and easy searching. It was great for when I couldn't remember the name of an item I knew I had.Daz Central Ending - New Enhanced Install ManagerRichard Haseltine said:

Well, that seriously stinks. What kind of chaos is that going to cause on a computer that has been almost 100% installed from day one - glitch-free - with DazCentral, where I have almost never used DIM for installing? DIM thinks hundreds of things that are installed and working fine need to be installed. Ugh, what a pain.
I have yet to figure out the hate for Daz Central, unless it's not entirely compatible with earlier DIM-installed products, in which case this bodes badly for me. I've set up two different computers entirely with DazCentral only, and I've never had a problem finding and using products installed with it. If there are lurking compatibility issues, then I look forward to all the trouble that future installs with DIM are going to cause (no, I don't).
I can say I was perplexed for the last several days on why Daz Central stopped working. I stopped using DIM to install products a while back, along with Daz Central. I have focused solely on using the Daz Studio application to manually select what is loaded. However, I can say that each time I open up Daz Studio, Daz Central is opened as well. It is the EASIEST way for me, and I am speaking strictly for me and my workflow, in quickly tracking down what I am looking for during the planning/creation process. I was happy to see it FINALLY load this morning. WIthout it, it is super time consuming to search for what I am looking for in far too many instances. I also appreciate the quick punch out to the website for additional information, if needed.

DIM is not showing my last 10 days worth of purchased products to installThanks all. It's been years since I've been in DIM. I've been a Daz Central guy.
