How does one redeem the punches?
Is it automatic or do you need a "coupon code," like many other sale offerings?!
I'm at the point where I don't have any more money to speak of.
I might get something with the combinaton of my one punch and some luck.
Next month (next year,) I'll set myself up with a large amount on a gift certificate. That way the money will be reserved for future sales oppotunities.

Nvidia plans heavy cuts to GPU supply in early 2026I got a new 4080 system last year and between Fooocus, Forge and a couple of online AI apps, I have spent less on 3D assets and had less strain on my PC doing most of my images with AI, only using DS for reference images for poses, image to image, etc..I figure I am good for another 5 years. I am more concerned with how controlling and intrusive Windows has become.

It's in your account under "Edit" - see attachments.
ETA: Dang, too slow again!
New Daz 3D 'Safe Search' FilterI'm 68, and will be 69 on February 24, 2026! I've been a member at DAZ3D since early 2010, or late 2009. I remain logged in for long periods of time, due to visiting the site at least once every day.
I started seeing the Mature Content Filter about a year or so ago, if I remember it correctly, and have been unable to find the Show Mature Content checkbox in my Account Profile. If it is there, where is it, and how do I access it?
When I'm in the Shop looking for things to buy, or even grab for free, many of the Products I look at have those blurred promo images now, even for items that have no images that are even close to fitting that criteria! On top of that, there are some products that don't even appear in the store pages, which I know should be there, because they do appear in my Wishlist pages. And then in many cases, there are items in my wishlist that have either been discontinued, or are being filtered out so I can't even look at them; much less decide to buy them!
If you are going to have such a filter in place, at least make sure it works the way it is supposed to, before implementing it! This is just common sense! The results I'm seeing, and according to most that are posting in this thread are proving that the Mature Content Filter is seriously flawed; not really working as expected at all!
I will ask again, where is the option to turn the filter on or off, and how do I find it? If I can't see all of the promo images, I for one will not buy the product! I think most of the other members are with me on that, as well! We do not buy things when certain aspects of them cannot be seen!
Nvidia plans heavy cuts to GPU supply in early 2026I did a RAM upgrade earlier this year. The kit I bought has since quadrupled in price. I hope it lasts because there's no way I could afford to replace it now. :/
One consequence of hardware being so expensive is it might push the software side to innovate and run on lower spec hardware. In the Daz world maybe that would translate to steady demand for optimized models, thoughtful instancing, etc.
Llola Lane’s RENDER A MONTH Challenge 2025 (ALL are welcome to join)@Elor I can definitely sympathise - I don't like to be woken up and so would probably be a little upset at the beeping even if it was only 1 day a year :P
Feng CharactersEleanor has at least one cbc that is not connected to her body shape, so it fires with all characters. I deleted the character from my library and since my support ticket of over a year ago is still open, I am assuming it has not been fixed.
Daz Studio Iray - Rendering Hardware BenchmarkingI remember, years ago, when I was running 4 x 2080ti, and the time was 1:14. Now, a single 5090 is significantly faster than all four of them.
Love NVidia or hate them, their products rock.
There's Always Another Sale Thread -- Discussions Only Pt 5I spent too much time deciding whether I want my calendar freebie and hunt for something else to buy, or I'll get the calendar cheapie instead and call it a day. Leaning toward the second option, because both Better than D+ and the Deal aren't interesting to me (I agree, though, that the villa is stunning). I share others' sentiments about gifts that are addons to some obscure item from the store. While there's that saying of not looking gifted textures in the mouth, I also don't feel inclined to even add them to my cart. But there's always one or two of those each year, so I guess we were lucky to have made it this far without one :)
Semi-transparent Geoshell casting shadows, bug or physical consequence?Hello. I applied a geoshell to a Genesis 8.1 model and tried to do two things:
1. apply a shader called “iray uber water thin”
2. apply a shader called “iray uber water”
The first one worked correctly, but the second one blocks the light, creating a shadow effect that looks like a glitch. Here is an example with an image:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OII186VAbod3qxq72H4GsJRD-fYb4Iug/view?usp=sharing
Okay, maybe it's just a normal physical effect, right? After all, the water shader must have been made with larger bodies of water in mind.
However, I've seen this same pattern of interference between shaders and shadows happen with products designed just to make skin look slightly wet. I've tried:
1. Modifying the “offset distance” of the geoshell
2. Placing the model at coordinates 0,0,0
3. Changing all rendering optimizations (memory, caustic samples, etc.)
But nothing worked. Only by slightly reducing the geoshell's “cutout opacity” can I get rid of the shadows, but I don't think this is a real solution...
Does anyone have a better idea of what is happening?
EDIT:
I ended up noticing that the "thin walled" On/Off option is the difference between the two shaders. The “thin walled” option considers the shader to be just a film and there is no shadow projection. But I wanted the shader to be understood as if it were volumetric water, without the thin walled opton, and still without blocking the light. If anyone knows how to solve this, I would be grateful...

Out of curiosity, did anyone track their SKUs last year? Not just generalities (like "I got G8 stuff") but actual SKUs? I'm curious how it compares to this year's.
Yes, last year I got 30 freebies, the lowest was SKU 60469 and the highest was SKU 83399.
They ranged in (base) price last year from 15.95 to 24.95 (I got 4 freebies at 24.95, higher than anything I've had so far this year)
ETA: This year my freebies have ranged from SKU 58679 (which was not on my wishlist but I accepted it as the 2.99 item that day was not worth it to me) to 83990.
The price range this yeaar so far has been from 16.95 to 23.95.
Interesting, and thanks for the data points. So with the thought that there's a little wiggle room as it's likely no one has gotten either the absolute lowest or highest item, it looks like the ranges are the same. I'd been curious if they'd shifted up by a year, and it wouldn't seem to be the case.
As a side note, I've recently started keeping track of what items on my WL have popped up on free or heavily discounted ($1-ish) lists through the year, and there are some of those that have now popped up on my calendar as freebies. So it might be something to keep in mind as the year progresses and there are future offers... could pay to WL things for fodder so there doesn't have to be a massive hunt in November to figure out what's eligible and pad out the options.

Daz Studio Iray - Rendering Hardware BenchmarkingWow, guys! What a great resource for deciding on new GPUs!
I bought a TITAN RTX last year, because the seller let it go for $800. I was upgrading from a GTX 1650, which basically made Daz3D possible to use for animation renders.
I'm debating on another upgrade, possibly a 5070ti. Anyone have Daz benchmarks for that one? What other GPU would y'all recommend for cutting animation render times down?
Thanks!
The 'Eat Your Food and Like It' Complaint ThreadMore progress: Wheee... the new printer (EPSON WF-7840), bought nearly a year ago on a deep sale) is out of the box. Wow, it's heavy!
But thankfully, it was packaged with removal from the top in mind, and came inside a lifting bag with suitable handle holes. Now to read the documentations, and still decide what to do with the old printer(EPSON WF-7520). It's still in a difficult position, behind furniture, so that either it has to be lifted over top of the furniture, or move the furniture, neither is easily possible by me, alone, anymore.
And the new printer has to go back to the printer table the same way. So, now I have TWO printers and a big box sitting uselessly in my living room. (*Sigh*)
Merry Christmas LG.
Complaint: Arghhh... I just received an email from the phone company (Kinetic) saying that they will show up at my door TODAY between 3:00 and 5:00. Unlike their website which still shows my appointment for Jan2, 2026. And of course, here was me thinking that I had plenty of time to resolve my printer issue. But now I have my livingroom floor hidden by an excess number of living and dead printers and a big box. Harumph..., I hope the technician can walk through narrow spaces. Last time I saw one of their technicians, doors presented a narrowness problem for him.
Yet I had to admit that he climbed ladders and worked atop telephone poles installing my fibre connection well enough.

Has anyone done any more "research" into the top price of the items? Or is there a consensus threshhold?
So far for me this year, free has topped out at $25, paid at $30. Given we're 2/3 through the month now, I feel like that's a big enough sample to say it's probably representative.

I would not, at least for products you really want: I had at least two outfits for which I got both the base clothing and the texture pack as free choice in my advent calendar. In one case, I had the outfit before the textures pack but in the other case, it was the opposite.
Regarding where an item ended (free or for cheap), off the top of my head, I think the threshold was around $30, items under that price could end as free items, items over, I don't think they could, and I don't remember having an item over $40 in my advent calendar.
Has anyone done any more "research" into the top price of the items? Or is there a consensus threshhold?

I hate to be "that guy" but a texture add-on for something that I cannot imagine everyone owns for the freebie today? That's a very odd choice.

It is unfortunate, for sure. Get it anyway. Maybe the dress will be offered later.
Another odd thing is that yesterday they offered five G8 Mega Bundles for $3.99 each. Today they offer one G8 Starter bundle for $9.99. Huh?This makes customers feel happy that they bought it yesterday.
However, yesterday's promotion didn't include many items, so the prices of those items may be the lowest this year. or NOT
I'm definitely going to include "PW Boutique Villa" in my shopping cart today, and then I'll wait for Quick-Grab price to be fixed.
