Hello Daz Gurus:

I recently purchased the Victoria 8.1..   I downloaded it via DIM and then tried to put it into the render room.  I got a warning that it needed to update Starter Essentials which it did.

However.  When the figure showed up it was without any sort of skin textures..  Making it look like a marble statue.  It is rigged and all of the dials work, it's just missing all of the textures.  I also bought Raw Art's Pearlette and it does the same exact thing.  So both figures are missing their automatic textures.  When you try to apply the textures to them nothing happens.   Does anyone know what went wrong and how to fix this problem?

I've included a screen shot so that you all can see what I mean.

(SOLVED, what brought by my Iray Render Engine was a udate of my drivers.. Who would have thought?  But Emma with DAZ Tech support suggested it and it worked!)

N-Ra Swollen Feet and Ankles Morph for Genesis 8 Female

An ugly morph. Then again, swollen feet aren't meant to be pretty.

Based on real swollen feet and ankles.

You may not need to dial the morph all of the way up.  I found dialling up to 0.75 more than enough. 
I made it with the G8F base character in mind - That's why Victoria 8's render looks "off" ("preggers"/pregnant preview). I don't know if it'll work with G8.1F, or with any other feet, ankle, or leg morphs (I can't imagine it will with the latter).

Well, I don't know about the earlier editions, but Response Vehicles scale is notably off. I have a G8M character who is the equivalent of 6'3", and that should easily fit into something the size of your average Crown Victoria imitation. Yet his head gets nicely bisected by the roof of the government vehicle at its default scale. I had to scale it up to over 110%, and even then, the length was still too short, so I had to add z-scale as well. (Somehow, the wheels didn't turn into ovals. Not sure how that didn't happen.)

Seems to be a consistent thing that cars somehow aren't consistently made to Genesis scale, of whatever generation.

Debating whether or not to return them, since they didn't drive any discounts for that particular purchase.

I checked to see that I had harddrive space, no issues. I deleted a already downloaded product as was able to redownload that with no issue.

Items were purchased about four hours ago.

When I attempt to manually download the products I get:

Slight necro, but this is for anyone who's wondering about porting Victoria 4 to Genesis 8 via using Gen X for the initial step. I think earlier in this thread I reported that it doesn't work. This was wrong, the porting works just fine, you just have to make sure your head morph is set right in the converter, as it's unlikely to be FHM :)
Also the secret to Vicky 4 characters looking right is to use the Legacy Victoria 4 shape (IIRC for Genesis 2) instead of the one with Gen X and use the corresponding Genesis 2 to 8 tool to port the one from the store here as a base. 

RS and SY's 3delight to Iray converter also usually does by far the best job on Vicky4 skins, though I've had to use other tools for a few individual mats.

Great tools by Riversoft et al.

Hey all!

So releasing with the awesome and amazing Superhero Training Room will be a collection of not one but TWO pose sets that I hope you will find inspiring. Because superheros come in different shapes and sizes, I've included a selection of shapes support to make things a little more easy and interesting and allow you to get going on your renders without having to stop and tweak the poses. Pose presets support for Genesis 8/8.1 Male, Genesis 8/8.1 Female, Michael 8, Victoria 8, The Brute 8, Freja 8, Kayo 8, both shape options for Raw Biggun HD (1 & 2), and Raw Jemma HD. Also, as a side note, Owen 8 works really well with the Genesis 8 Male base poses - for when you want a younger, less muscular (but more muscular than the base shape) hero to work with.

First up: Hero In Training for Genesis 8: Amateurs! For all those situations when things go wrong, or when your hero is just starting out. 

The main promo and the last promo are the exact same image, and in the last promo, she identifies it as 100% Victoria 8.1.

What morphs are you referring to? The Corset morphs have been fixed and daz should release an update for it soon.

Yes, you can work around it, but it's a glitchy pain in the @ss,isn't it?... and then you don't dare get too close-up on the skeleton or the polys show...

Wouldn't it be nice to have (a) product/products that move with the more realistic modern figures?
I'm not knocking v4... but stack her against one of the more recent figures, and there is no comparison. The subtlties aren't there... e.g.

Now, I just wish there would be a clone to bring Genesis 2 clothing onto Genesis 8 characters.

And here is Victoria 8.1 HD at SubD Level 4, running at ~1440p @ 30fps, 33.4 million triangles.  It took a few minutes just for Daz Studio to export the HD fbx file, which was 250 MB.  I tried to reach SubD Level 5, but it looked like Daz FBX export process crashed after 15+ minutes.  I'll try again later when I can let it run as long as it needs.

Edit: sorry, the last two posts just had the default 2048 resolution textures, so visual quality was misleading.  Here's a new post with textures set to 4096.

SubDivision Test Screenshots of Victoria 8.1 HD at Subdivision Level 3 (editor view and game view).  Unity 2019 HDRP is drawing 8.3 million triangles at ~1440p@60fps (in Game mode of Unity Editor).

FYI, Victoria 8.1 HD morphs require Subdivision Level 5 before they are applied, so this is technically still Victoria 8.1 and not 8.1 HD.

Slightly off-topic: It would be very cool to see how well the true SubD Level 5+ Victoria 8.1HD can perform using the advertised power of Unreal Engine 5.

For hair, the most efficient method is usually to load the hair without fitting it, scale/morph/position it manually so it fits when the figure is in defaut position, then parent it to the head. You might have to adjust it a bit once the figure is posed, but that way you keep all custom bones and morphs of the hair.

Voglio vedere se riesco a dare una refreshata a qualche vecchio asset interessante.

Victoria 3 is Generation 3.  Victoria 7 is Genesis 3.
