Daz Studio 4.14 Pro, General Release!
Greyed out products sound as if you aer looking in the products tab of Smart Content. Instead, look in daz Studio Formats (or Poser Formats) under the content directory you installed to 9if it isn't listed then that si the problem; if it is listed and the files are there then the issue is communication between DIM/CMS/DS at some point, or possibly having the CMS closed during installation.
How it's happening is of no importance, specially not to the end user. the fact that it's happening again and again is the problem.
In case nobody in daz have ever thought of it, here's how a responsible company deals with these [stuff].First: they consider the types of their users, in these case there are 3:
- connect users that like to see the big thumbnails, tags, description and the categorized content that allows them install what they need when they need it
- central users that like new shiney things and don't mind installing another program with less functionality than connect
- DIM users that like DIM for some reason.
Second: they write down their users likes and dislike, I'll list some that most users can agree with.
- users like to see programs that are ready to use when they open them, not fiddling with files and folders to get it working
- users don't like downloading the same thing several times
- users like to keep their computers clean and running fast with installing less programs
- users don't like their hard drives full of content if they're not going to use them
- users like to use their time to create, not spending it on forums complaining about problems that hindered their progress
- users like portable programs that don't need re installing when they migrate to another computer
- users like to choose where their files are stored, almost nobody installs their library on the precious NVMe or SSD that is their drive C
- users like when the developers are considerate and ask where to store the files before downloading the whole library
Third: they buy some cheap laptops and install their program on them according to their different user types.
- One with content installed using connect
- And two for the inferior methods

Fourth: they go through few scenarios and make sure the software still functions and fulfills user's likes and avoids user's dislikes, for example:
- The user upgraded their hardware or migrated to a new computer
- The operating system has been corrupted and the user had to re install it
- The user wants to use an older version alongside the new one
- The user haven't opened the software for a while
if they spot something that might annoy any of the user types, the developers would try to write some function or tool to handle the situation with minimum effort on the user's side. It's really that easy and cheap to make sure the user is unhindered to "create their own universe".
Once you have that system in place, you can open those laptops every time there's an update and check if the update would reek havoc on the users before unleashing it on the unsuspecting users right in the middle of doings some [stuff] that's important to them, interrupting their workflow.
Where do I download updates without Daz Connect?I think you mean Daz Central -- Daz Connect is built into Daz Studio, and cannot install DS itself. But regardless, you don't have to use Daz Central. However, if you want to install the Beta, you must use Daz Install Manager.
Where do I download updates without Daz Connect?I see in the FAQ that I do not need DazConnect to update but no where can I find where to download newer version with Filament included?
I am almost certain DC will totally break my multi machine render setup using a central server for assets therefor I will not download or install DAZ connect. I do NOT use the database for the same reason. I uninstalled it when I set up DS because it will not work for three machines over network.
Can someone direct me to the location of the update or clean install of the latest DS but NOT Daz Connect which their info says is not required?

Does Daz Studio 4.9 require me to use Daz Connect?
No, you are not required to use Daz Connect services in Daz Studio.
What happened to Dystopia City Blocks? This might be off-topic, but I wonder what happen to the purchased product when it is removed from the store? Can I still download it if I have purchased it, and will it be available in DIM or Daz Central?
DAZ Studio 4 Installation Guide WindowsI was suddenly booted from Daz central and am no longer able to sign into it. I've uninstalled 5 times but nothing works
In that case you probably should open a ticket:

Click on the Sign in in the upper right corner first.
Daz Install Manager (DIM) 1.4.0.94, Now Available! (*UPDATED*)It works now!!!!
Don't know how or why, but...
- I was able to download manually, got network error before
- I was able to download through DIM, see posts above for my troubles
- I was able to download through Daz Central, got endlessly spinning wheels before
Better to be working and not know why then whatever my situation before. Maybe I was on probation for some reason?
.
Thank you again to everyone who tried to help troubleshoot
Daz Studio 4.14 Pro, General Release! So I will ask once again - Where can DAZ Studio be downloaded without DAZ Central or Install Manager?
Once you've scrolled down, you want the Manual downloads. Even though it says Download zip, the actual installers are downloaded.
Daz Studio 4.14 Pro, General Release!Where can I find the download links for the new build of studio,.. I refuse to install central,.. IF I click on download studio it just suggests hey why not download central,. if I go to my products and go to DS pro from there,.. it just suggests Central if I click on the DS picture it takes me to a "Oh not there anymore missing page"
I've been wasting my time on this website and on the forum wondering the same thing. WHY is it so hard to find a download link for DAZ Studio. It should be in plain view site.
This is ridiculous.
Daz Studio 4.14 Pro, General Release! Thanks very much for the replies.
Can DAZ Studio 4.14 be downloadad and installed WITHOUT DAZ Central or Install Manager?
When I install via DAZ Central, DAZ Studio no longer appears in my Windows 10 "Add / Remove Programs"Also it does not install DAZ Studio in the folder C:\Program Files\
But installs it in "C:\DAZ 3D\Applications\" which I prefer not to.
Is there a benefit for installing it in this folder over C:\Program Files\ ?????
Cheers & many thanks
Ken
You can download a stand-alone installer from your Product Library: https://www.daz3d.com/downloader/customer/files#prod_13176
It doesn't show up in Add/Remove programs -- if you install it with Daz Central or DIM you uninstall it the same way.
Daz Central simplifies the folder structure by installing everything into one folder, C:\Daz 3D Since it's installing content there as well as applications, it's better to stay outside of Program Files.
Sorry but there NO download link at the url you posted.

DIM not working (was Can we manually install Daz 4.14?)Trying to fix another problem, I tried uninstalling and reinsatlling Daz Studio 4.14 through DIM.
Well, the uninstalling happened, but now I have no Daz Studio in the "Installed" tab, but also nothing in the "ready to download" tab either.
I took a risk and tried Daz Central, that just said "loading" forever.
Is it possible to download it and install it manually? What else can I try?
Nothing in Ready to install either? Have you checked the Dowload Filters?
Yes, theer should be a stand-aline isntaller in the Product Library.
Transferring all data to another computerPlace the files from the desktop's content directories diectly in a contetn directory on the new machine and they should work once DS knows where the directories are - it saves scenes and presets using relative paths. The CMS database also uses relative paths. Only Install Manager/Daz Central store the absolute location of the files they place.

Why is Daz Tech Support so bad?Well, they DID fix the missing shader in BodyScapes pretty fast. As wit QC, the new texture and interior rooms expansion for Grovebrook House installs the majority of file in Lost and Found. The same issues ever and ever again....
As with installation, I avoid DAZ Connect and DAZ Central, as both methods have reliably proven to mess up my installed files. I prefer to stick to DIM. Taht one is rather reliable, so far.
Moving my library to a new (bigger) drive and I need a little helpDaz Central is just a simplified front-end -- the engine behind it is DIM. You can queue up everything in DIM, then resume any downloads that failed, You can change the paths DIM uses in Basic Settings.
Why is Daz Tech Support so bad?An update to the Grocebrook Park file issue. To fix the missing file error I had to copy the correctly name Bump Map to My Library using the same seires of folder names from the Connect Library.
I wish Daz had not messed with the way they placed and installed products. Between DIM, Daz Connect, My Library and now Daz Central, what a mess. Files are all over the place. I made the mistake of installing Daz Central not long after it was released, that totally screwed up everything. Took me a couple of days to get rid of Daz Central and clean up all the duplicates files and products.
I am scared to even try Daz Central again, not sure if they fixed all the issues that change created.
Daz Install Manager (DIM) 1.4.0.94, Now Available! (*UPDATED*)One more clue. Daz Central does not seem to connect to my store account.
I had never installed the Daz Central thing. Decided to give it a try. I downloaded and installed. When connecting to my account, the icon for connecting just twirls in a circle forever. I went to my store account page. Chose a recent item from my product library (not yet installed through DIM or manually installed). Clicked to install through Daz Central. I was forwarded to the page that assumes that I have no Daz Central linked to my store account.
Moving my library to a new (bigger) drive and I need a little helpSo I installed Daz through daz central on my new drive but whenever I try to install the content through daz central it keeps stopping. It will download maybe ten percent of a product, then just stop for no reason. And I have to click install again. At this rate it will take me roughly a decade to install all my content. Is there anyway to get DIM to install content to a different hard drive? Or mabe daz central work. I thought daz central was newer? Shouldn't it be more reliable than the old software?
DazStudio crash on macOS Big SurHello, I recently updated my Mac (macOS Big Sur) and since dazStudio does not want to open anymore ... I uninstall everything with Daz Central and reinstall but nothing changes. I see the little application icon appear and then disappear as soon as possible ... Any ideas?
