While plans are not set in stone, currently I am building a 3D model of Stowe House (Buckinghamshire, UK. See https://www.stowe.co.uk/house).

I am building the mass model in Carrara and texturing it in RedShift in Cinema4D, so it can be blown up in Matthew Vaugn's next Kingsman movie, with Dwayne Johnson flying through the air in front of it, or some such.

While I have the experience and knowledge to model the architectural model and terrain, I am not skilled enough at 3d sculpting to make the Medici lions on the South Front portico, which have a bit of history. These are the original lions from when Stowe House was originally built in ca. 1730. When Queen Victoria visited the Duke of Buckingham, the expense drove him bankrupt, and the lions were sold. In the early 20th century Stowe was bought to turn into a school. Since I graduated in the 1970s, the National Trust has been helping restore Stowe, as a consequence of which anonymous donors sponsored the purchase and return of the lions to the South Front for half a million dollars (see https://wmf.org.uk/Projects/technical-case-study-the-stowe-lions/ for the full story). 

I am very slow. It's going to take me 8 months to do the architectural model, but no problems, the film's not scheduled to shoot until September. Probably the studio will want to improve on any explosions I make, but currently that''s way off in the future. The reason I am doing it is because Stowe gave me an all-paid scholarship, so I am putting at least the first segment of work in the public domain, which also mitigates the required commercial licensing fees. So I can think some residual may be result from your work depending how things go, but I can't promise any payment. I think people call this doing work 'on spec,' lol, although there's no specs at all, it's entirely my own idea and so far no one has objected so Im getting into it seriously now.

Now find the Victoria item you are looking for in the list of props, figures, etc.

And then right click on the selected item and chose "show installed files"

I've never understood what Most Popular in the search filters meant.  Trending I get, it's referring to what's hot right now.  Most Popular I originally took to mean Best Selling Historically, but clearly that is not even remotely the case.  Right now the Nutcracker Prince bundle is near the top of the Most Popular filter search.  There is no way that the Nutcracker Prince Bundle has sold more units historically than the Victoria 4 base.

A genuine filter tallying historical best sellers in the store or in any sub-category therein would be very useful, especially for someone new to the store, but perhaps it would be too difficult to implement in software.

It says on the daily Sale page that it does not stack with any other discount, which I discovered this morning included the DAZ+ discount...

I can see the wording could be a bit confusing, if I understand it correctly, the discount on the New Year’s Countdown Items applies only when.one of the Victoria 8.1 bundles and a Still-New Release is in your cart, or when you own a Victoria 8.1 bundle and have a Still-New Release in your cart.

I want to start buying G8.1 females, do I need to purchase Victoria 8.1 for twice the cost of the other figures, just to run those figures? Or can I just buy 8.1 figures and start rendering? Is there a catch I am missing or is she a barrier to 8.1? Why is the Victoria figure always nearly $50 for just the figure?

I purchased the HD add on for Vic G8.1, will that HD effect/dials apply to the other figures that do not have their own HD settings? I want the highest quality possible skin for figures that do not have HD add ons.

Daz does not sell anatomical elements so search elswhere?

When I load up Victoria 8.1 everything loads in fine and works great.  However, when I then add any kind of volumetric atmosphere prop, like the ones included in Cloudscape Creator or Streets of the Wild West I lose the mouth textures (gums and tongue).  They just go full black.

IF I convert the character to UBER shader than regular G8F textures work fine.  Specifically, though, I'm trying to use Victoria 8.1...

Does anybody else see this issue? 

EDIT... I just found a workaround.  If you select the volumetric atmosphere prop in the scene tab and lower the cutout opacity by .00001 everything works.  SO, that works enough for me.  THank you for your time!  I'll leave this here in case anybody else sees this issue and doesn't know what to do, though :)

Just so you know, Aiko 3 is not a Genesis 3 character. Yes, it's confusing.

I'm not familiar with the Android App, but you can do everything through a web browser, no need to download the desktop app if you don't want to.

You may be right about that. I just loaded Victoria 8.1 and there is no problem at all. When I click on the wardrobe tab everything Genesis 8 or 8.1 compatible shows up. Thanks.

You mostly have to resort to using period women's outfits from the 20's, 30's, 40s, 50s, & 60s. There is quite a bit of that for Victoria 4 & Genesis, with lesser amounts for Genesis 2, Genesis 3, Genesis 8, & Genesis 8.1. 

The good news is most of the the women's (and mens' if you're not trying to dress up a viking or Conan type character) clothing products for Victoria 4/Michael 4 & Genesis is DAZ+ (was PC+) and costs $1.99 per product if you are in the DAZ+ Club.

To use you just fit to load a Genesis base character, add each clothing piece & answer the autofit dialogue if it was a Victoria 4/Michael 4 clothing piece originally, load a base Genesis 2 character, change the clothing pieces you fitted on the base Genesis character to the base Genesis 2 character (by using parent in the Scene tab for a particular item of clothing and then choosing from autofit popup dialogue the version of the base Genesis character that it was already fitted to when prompted (could be Victoria 4, Michael 4, Genesis, Genesis 2 Female, Genesis 2 Male, Genesis 3 Female, Genesis 3 Male, Genesis 8 Female, Genesis 8 Male, Genesis 8.1 Female, or Genesis 8.1 Male), and then you load a base Genesis 3 character and again in the scene tab choose the item of clothing you want to refit currently fitted on a base Genesis 2 character and parent it to the base Genesis 3 character, and repeat the process all the way to the base Genesis 8.1 character and then applyt the morph dials for the particular Genesis 8.1 character you intend to use (technically you can use that character instead of the base Genesis 8.1 character and similarly for the earlier versions of Genesis).

Sounds like a great tip and work around. Is there anything similar that would work with using a M4 or V4 or Genesis pose with a later Genesis character?
