Bridget 8
EDITED I would like to get rid of the "whistle" hole in the middle of the lips. I have several morphing tools, but that is a stubborn feature.
Well, I like the gamin look (not gaming, I don't know anything about gaming) Anyway, here's one of a couple test runs today. I modified a bit here and there, in the cheeks, the nose slope, and tried very hard to get the whistle out, which made other distortions.
The EJ Face Morphs & Details has a morph under Actor>Head>Face>Mouth called "EJFM Lip Gap Soft" that removes whistle holes with a minimum of secondary effects.
Since so many complained about “another white girl,” I experimented with 100% Bridget morph and used Skin Builder 8. The truth is that facial morphs with the melting pot world we’re in can go with any color skin and vice versa...

WONDERfull renders, Wonderland! Thanks for sharing. I, too, am miffed at the no-def HD, but I haven't had a chance to download yet.
Bridget 8Can someone render her with the "weight" morph applied? I'd like to see what she looks like as an overweight nerdy type before I decide.
Here she is at 50% and 100% weight, no expression. To me it makes her look older...
Thank you! Got me wanting to get her now!

Polish's Military AircraftConsidering their intended use I think they are very good models but the deal breaker for me is the S-14 (F-16). Its so close to an accurate depiction but with a few jarring inconsistencies that prevent me from using it. The lack of the bubble canopy is perhaps the one that annoys me most. IMHO the bubble canopy is one of the most beautiful features of the F-16 (and functional for dogfights) and with the F-16 in use by so many countries (and with Free Falcon, Falcon BMS etc), I can't fathom why the canopy is so flawed on this model. The Conformal fuel tanks should also have a toggle switch to hide them. I'd love to buy this model but please Polish, fix those two things at least (I can at least not show the erroneous right side gun port). And all this being said we also need some nice jet pilot flight suits!.
There is a very nice Flight Suit/Flight Helmit for M4. The promo pics don't do it justice BTW. I was able to fit it to G8M and convert it to IRAY. It looks very good. Use the transfer tool to fit it to G1M, then fit it to G8M. Once you get it fit to G8M, save the pilot as a scene sub-set. That way, you can just load him without having to do the fit thing over and over gain. Below is the flight suit on G8M (front) and M4 (back). The kit comes with face mask and the helmet visor can come down.

Wow! Thanks for this tip!
Morphs from G3 to G8Can someone give an update about the situation of transfering G3 morphs to G8 please? I downloaded the "helper" from page 4 of this topic (https://www.dropbox.com/s/x2vcwnfu7w2wtj9/G8 Morph TransfersR1.zip?dl=0 from Redz). Is this still the only way to transfer the moprhs or there is already a script for this (I searched the shop and found nothing). If the scrip is still in works do someone have n ETA for it?
Thanks in advance.
Bridget 8Get this https://www.daz3d.com/skin-builder-8-for-genesis-8-females and any of the many morph kits or mix characters you already have. Why do people want their personal ideal characters out of the box? Seriously, the fun is creating your own...
I couldn't agree more. I was going to shy away from this part of the conversation, but I think I will lend my short two cents about it. We all know DAZ is in the business of making money. They will diversify if they feel there is a need but the bottom line is money. Earlier, I made a comment about this one being lackluster to me. She still is to a degree because...well...she a bit ordinary. Most of the Genesis 8 bases that I love have been a little different, especially the POCs ones.
However, at the end of the day, those of us who are POCs that wish for more representation in the medium we love know that the sad truth is...there's not many non POCs that like diversity, which may result in low sales for someone like Lee 8 or Darius 8 (I don't know how they did sales wise, but I'm going off a comment I read earlier that stated there were 38 Daz Originals, 32 of which were white, 3 black, 3 asian. Broken down like that, it pretty much speaks for itself).
I started doing this thing back in 2004 (15 years ago, whew!). You know how much diversity was out here for Victoria 3, Michael 3 etc...not a whole lot, that's for sure. With the Generation 4 stuff, there were some in-roads made, but still not a lot and as a POC myself, I simply did not want to make all my art with just one type of character. We don't live in a world like that anyway.
Fast forward to today, and while there is still no where near as many diverse characters as there are "white" characters...we've still come a long way baby. These characters should really be blueprints for our imagination anyway, a starting point toward something greater, not the measuring stick.
I agree that I would love to see more diverse and more fantasy type characters. I'm tired of the werewolf, vampire, zombie, witch, sorcerer, sorceress, superhero stuff (and I like all of those genres) but would love more diversity. However, while Daz continue to make strides in this direction, we really do have enough resources to make almost any character we want, so IMHO, we POCs (and others too) really have two choices...
1.) We continue to voice our opinion about the "lack of" diversity amongst the Genesis 8 and beyond line and hope DAZ listens...maybe...if the interest is there and the sales show it. Or...
2.) We can make use of all these wonderful resources and craft our own unique characters (which is probably what we should do anyway) and who knows...turn around and sell them (while still voicing our love for more diverse characters, but not just characters that look like us)?
Again, just my opinion. Take it with a grain of salt. :)

Bringing older generations up to modern standards - might be fun ;)I really wish DAZ would bring their original older characters like David 5 up to Genesis 8. That would be fantastic. Poor David has been totally forgotten, even though they've continued Stephanie. Maybe someone could make some of those older characters for Genesis 8. I have Michael 7 for Michael 8. I also have Gianni 6 for Gianni 7. It would be great if they could bring David 5 up to Genesis 8 in a similar way, even though there's no David 8 (and probably never will be, sadly).
I did get my customized David over to G3M at least with GenX2, but he looks a bit different. I'm customizing him further and am starting to get something I can live with ;). He doesn't look like the Genesis 1 David 5 that I customized, but at least he looks like his brother. LOL He's wearing Malachai for G3M's skin and borrowing M7's HD details morph here. I still have to set the skin up to chromatic tho. No special lights either...just the default HDRI.
Getting old figures over can be done, they just aren't gonna look exactly the same, but only like a close relative :( However, I would definitely buy a "David 5 for Genesis 8 Male" if he looked as good as some of the ones Gravity Studios has been doing.
Laurie
I believe the reason he doesn't look exactly the same is because of the lower poly count of the G3/8 models. But it's good you're finding ways to adjust.
Well, I have three choices. Use David 5 (which I will), use the G3M version (which I will, probably) and have Mike 7 as a brother between the two (would probably work). LOL I have not yet begun to customize!! I find it extremely fun and rewarding making something no one else has ;). Probably why I can't leave a character alone "as is" LOL.
You are so right about the lower poly too....I'm finding it hard to just add small details to the G3/G8 figures. In a weird way, they are very "doughy" and smooth, which looks so totally wrong to me. I find myself adding another characters HD details just to give the skin SOME tiny details, but that creates its own issues. There's a lot to like about the newer figures, but they do NOT lend themselves well to small details unless you add HD (which since I'm not a PA I can't obviously and can only borrow another characters) or make normals (there again, I'm borrowing from another character).
Wow! I have so much to learn. Are you doing that via the sliders/dials?
Tired of Sassy, need AwkwardPoses can usually be applied to both genders, even if advertised for one.
True, but not all G8F poses transfer to G8M well unless you want effeminate males.
Well, you know some people are going to wanna render effiminate males, too. Its a diverse world. :D
I know that is why I say unless.

Bridget 8"Bridget is the epitome of the modern gamer girl."
I've been a gamer for 42 years, never met any girls like her.
I'm 58 but the majority of people in my company are 20-somethings and there are actually quite a few "Bridgettes" running around. The thing is, the definition of gamer doesn't mnean what it used to...
To me the definition of 'gamer girl' is 'female under the age of 25 or so who plays computer games', but I like Bridget :-)
For me it's a girl/woman that plays videogames just like male gamers they run the entire age spectrum...
Another white girl. Brilliant idea; we really don't have enough.
The 3D/gaming industries are largely geared towards the "majority" demographic, so you should not expect another 6th generation of inclusion for the base figures as that was a fluke; we'll just have to rely on PAs (They are the ones that are the glue that we/this company relies on!) to provide the proper range of races/cultures aside from the token black/Asian couples that daz 3d does.
That is, until the next generation replaces the old guard...

How to make custom modifications to a characterThe old Creature Craetor morphs moprhed one finger inside its neighbout, and then locked the rotations of the hidden finger (by subtracting the morph value from a hidden morph channel with a value of 1, and multiplying the rotations by that).
LEGS AND MORPHS! SOLVEDPlease post a screen shot of the settings you have for the two links (to the JCM from bend and from morph)
How to make custom modifications to a characterI want to make a troll character, but I'd like it to have only three or four fingers, instead of five. I'm trying to figure out how I could modify the model, and if it can be done in a way that I can still pose and dress the character afterwards. I know a bit of Blender so I thought maybe I should be able to export it there to remove a finger and import a morph that I can use.
I'd really appreciate it if somebody could point me to some tutorials or give me some pointers to do this, thanks!
March Madness 2019...again the "key" items are not only pricey, but nothing I am interested in as I do not use G8. Would be nice to see a few more "generic" items as "keys" like simpler props and sets.
Somehow paving 66$ - 94$ for a pro bundle to get an extra 10% savings kind of seems economically inefficient.
The Bridget 8 Pro Bundle with two add-ons for PC members is $34.02, bringing the Bridget 8 HD Add On to $3.02. Still need to cart $50 in DAZ O freebies. too!
...for one,as mentioned I haven't bothered jumping on the G8 bus as I am on an extremely tight budget and cannot afford all the extra morph, shaping, and skin resources to make it as useful as G3 already is for my needs.
I also don't bother with Pro Bundles as often they have content I'd rarely if ever use, like fantasy and skimpwear, as well as pre-made characters (I dial spin my own custom characters using the various vendor morph and shaping resources I have). The last one I purchased was the Young Teens 5 as it at least had all reasonable clothing I do use and character morphs that weren't just more fashion models.
What character is it?I think it's based on Osuine's morph as well as her textures. As missuskisses says from the 'Other' store by Sangriart. (https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/osuine-for-genesis-8-female/126928/)
S.Bringing older generations up to modern standards - might be fun ;)They are similar, but not exact. While one could apply a morph meant for Aiko 3 to Hiro 3, that same morph could not be applied to Michael 3. Now, I'm not sure if that's because the body part "grouping" was duifferent for some figures, say a few extra polygons for M3's neck (grabbing them from the "chest") as compared to V3, or if some meshes actually had different number of polygons. (I'm at work, so I can't verify one way or the other.)
Sincerely,
Bill
Bringing older generations up to modern standards - might be fun ;)after bringing aiko3 over into ,duf how maks a template so she can autofit clothes from v4?

If you have copied over the Aiko 3 shape you can use that to create an A3 clone, to load clothing from A3, but not V4. For V4 you need to copy over the V4 shape via GenX and then create a clone from that. Alternatively there are a lot of products available to give you a V4 clone in G3F or G8F, and Genesis 1 has a V4 clone built in.
but, how to save as a clone?
ty

Firstly bring up the "Parameter Settings" of the morph and change the Type from Modifier/Shape to Modifier/Clone.
Then File->Save As->Support Asset/Morph Asset (not clone asset)
In the popup box locate the morph you changed to be a clone, select it, and then this will be saved for the relevant Genesis base figure
TY!!
LEGS AND MORPHS! SOLVEDPerfect! So, what I do to link bend a JCM? In a forum thread I opened months ago you told me this, could be useful?
OK, try this (using the Property Hierarchy, from memory):
- Open the Property Hierarchy pane
- Put the Parameters pane in Edit mode (right-click menu)
- Right-click on the new corrective JCM and select Show in Property Hierarchy
- Find the bend on the bone in the parameters pane and drag it into the Property Hierarchy into the 1st Stage (Additive) group under attributes for your corrective
- Find the morph (Toned Edna) and drag that over to 2nd Stage (Multiplicative) under your corrective.
- Now exapnd the options under the rotation and you want set the scalar to 1/max angle - so if the corrective should be 100% at a bend of 85 you want 1/85 as the scalar.
- Make sure the ERC link is set to save with the corrective morph.
These steps works well, only stupid thing happen when I move the slider of the FBM. I mean, when it moves is at 1%, the JCM corrective go at 100%!
