I own Victoria 8.1 and so I loaded up the character and you're right, that's Victoria 8.1. There might be a few morphs, but it's definitely Vicky 8.1 at the essence. Thank you so much, Matt!

 Well took this as a challenge, and an opportunity to play with the Shape Splitter | Daz 3D tool. Did what you asked on both the G8.1M and G8.1F figures. 

For the G8.1F (Pink Belt) I split the https://www.deviantart.com/agentunawares/art/Transgender-Genesis-8-723851486 into a separate body only morph, also split the G8.1 Michael Chest morph from the rest of the Michael body, then transferred it to the G8.1F using the transfer utility tool. The rest of the transgender male body I used the Genesis 8 Female Body Morphs | Daz 3D to feminize the male looking figure. I used the Victoria 8.1 head and materials to finish off.

For the G8.1M (Blue Belt) I used the same Michael 8.1 Chest only morph that was created with the Shape Splitter tool, then split the transgender head into a separate morph. I transferred the Victoria 8.1 head using the transfer utility tool, and then used the same Victoria 8.1 Materials by using the https://www.daz3d.com/uv-swap-for-genesis-81. I carefully matched all the settings between Genesis 8 Male Body Morphs | Daz 3D and the G8.1F so they are basically duplicates

Close to perfection, and great use of old characters.  My only quibble is David's left hand.  It took me a few seconds to realize what he was holding/releasing.  A flower wrap is hard to convey.  The bare flowers and stems - a little brighter - would probably be enough.

It appears to be an orphaned reference. It is a translucency color map used for various eye surfaces when used with Victoria 7. It is set up in the image_library and animations sections of the preset for Kaeko, but the translucency weight is set to zero, so it has no effect.

The presets must be modified to remove the errors, which will require a help ticket to get done officially. You can work around it by re-saving the presets by removing the file reference from the Translucency Color channel. Set the Translucency Weight to non-zero to expose the Translucency Color channel, then set the image to "None". Reset the Weight to zero. Kaeko has that reference on the Iris, Pupil and Sclera surfaces (Victoria 7 also has it on the Cornea, but not Kaeko).

Could get tedious as you must re-save all the material presets that have eye surfaces included, that is the Kaeko Full, and all of the eye color presets, as well as the character preset. You could edit the files directly if you know what to do.

I can confirm that the new cycles is about 200% faster. The new denoiser is also noticeably improved, not that the old one wasn't good already. Tested a victoria 8.1 portrait with volumetric skin and a heavy transmapped wig that's quite intense for the gpu. Straight from diffeo.

It's 122 seconds for blender 2.93.6 vs 59 seconds for blender 3.0.

Comments etc - This is adapted from a 1950s ad for homebuying.  I thought it would make a good setup for young love.  A nervous boy asks an eager girl to GO to the prom with him.  I used a lot of older content.  The figures are vintage Victoria 3 and David 3 with the V3 Prom Dress and David Suit found in the Daz store, and Hollywood Hair by Jim Burton.

Just can't get Daz to connect to Photoshop, no matter what instructions I follow! Software is all the newest editions, so any tricks or tips would be appreciated.  Also, does anyone know if there is a Face Transfer software program for DAZ that works with Genesis 8 and Victoria 8.1?  Thanks! - Ski

Your DIM content installation path appears to be consistent with your Content Directory Manager's Daz Studio Formats library paths, so I don't see any obvious reason why you cannot load content in Daz Studio. You said you could load Genesis 8 Female, but not Victoria 8, right, so at least some content is usable.

Have you tried loading Victoria 8 from the Content Library tab instead of the Smart Content tab, to see if that makes any difference?

Have you investigated possible file blocking by antivirus or antimalware apps?

After you try to load content that fails, open the Daz Studio log file (in menu Help/Troubleshooting/View Log File). Scroll to the end of the log file. Does it give any warning message, error message, or additional clue about where it is looking or what might be wrong?

In DIM, go to the Installed tab and right click on the product that is not loading in Daz Studio. Select "Show Installed Files...". A window will open with hyperlinks to the installed files on your hard drive. Click on a link for an item that will not load and see if the link finds the file.

If none of this shows up a problem, I'm out of ideas. I hope someone else joins in here with other insights.

Yet another thought. I see you are logged in from inside Daz Studio. You didn't install Victoria 8 a second time from inside Daz Studio after installing with DIM did you? That would create a duplicate installation in another place.

Another thought: If you load basic Genesis 8 Female, can you find the Victoria 8 morph sliders in the Actors section of the Parameters pane?

You can see the Victoria 8 thumbnail in Smart Content, so it would seem that your file paths are OK. Right click on the Victoria 8 thumbnail in the Smart Content pane and select Browse to File Location (or something like that; I;m not sure of the exact wording). What path does it open? Is that where you expect it to be based on where you have DIM configured to install content.

I'm trying to get back into rendering after a very long absence but I'm having problems getting my content installed. I downloaded Victoria 8 with the manager but when I try and load the figure I get a error message saying the file doesn't exist. Do I maybe have maybe file insilation  paths set up wrong?

I can open scenes that I saved using Daz Studio 4.15.  The only issue is that version 4.16 couldn't find some skin textures for a character (Julie for Genesis 1, I think).  I had to delete her and load her again.  Victoria 4 and older characters loaded without any issues.  Images render fine in 3Delight.  I haven't tried Iray renderer yet.  I'm using an Intel core I5 8th generation processor.

@nabob21 - I used the same texture on all three characters - Victoria 7's for G3F texture Face 05 but I photoshoped out everything from it except for the blush (I removed the entire lips too). The eye Makeup was done using Materials Wizard (available at DAZ store) and the lips are from the original, base G8.1F with red added to the base color slot of the G8.1F lips material in the Surface tab. 

I used the same process for all three characters.

I also saw the Victoria offer with a blank sales page, as I had them all, yet didn't get any message notification for a free figure. And the last time I tried to send a ticket for a past freebie, they demanded documented proof that the item was in fact eligible as a freebie with that order, but they took so long to respond to the ticket that the offer had expired and was thus impossible to show the proof they demanded. Of course, I asked if someone had a record of which items were offered as freebies in past promotions, but was told that they don't keep any records of those. Their attitude was that if there's no screen cap of the cart showing that price or copy of the promotion page, it never happened! Yeah, I hope others have better luck than that, but I'm not inclined to stick my hand in that beartrap again. :/

As for freebies, the Christmas items count as a "new" item for the weekly membership club freebies.

Hey guys,

I'm using Daz3D ver. 4.16.0.3 and I add the character Lainey into the scene. Everything works fine and I can even preview or render it in Iray but when I add her Skin and try to preview in Iray Daz3d crush with no explanation.

I used to render this character in the past and I tried to open some of the old renders but with the same result.

Do anyone have any ideea what is wrong or how I can solve this issue?

It started around 2 weeks ago. I don't know if it started after I updated Daz to ver. 4.16 or updated the Nvidia driver. 

I will really appreciate if anyone can try to do a render with this character and see if it's working. Maybe there is something wrong on my side...
