Help find a character
Could be just Victoria 8.1 not dialed in all the way, maybe less than 30%, because she almost looks like the default Genesis 8/8.1 Female.vl80s2012 said:https://www.daz3d.com/fe-diverse-hair-vol-1-for-genesis-8-and-81-females

Thank you for the insights, bytescapes. While not directly confirmed, what you shared seems to be borne out by the ongoing dialogue afterwards. I don't think this is anything for me - even if I join, I have to roleplay as a woman? I love and deeply respect women, but I have no desire to be one.
No, the blurb about a group of women was the personifaction of the first product, nothing to do with the makeup of the discord channel. The way that Daz has sometimes used a Victoria as a spokesentity

Thanks nonesuch00. It seems that the original Toon Generations was Poser format. I could not find anything similar to the fit option you mentioned for using the original Toon Generations with Toon Generations 2. Looked at a couple of videos for converting Poser to Daz3d, but they all seem to be for figures and props. The clothing was my easy out.
No, the original Toon Generations come in DAZ Studio & Poser formats but were 100% original figures and not based on any Genesis, Victoria, or Michael characters.
Did you actually load a Toon Generations 2 character in a scene and then try to add a piece of original Toon Generations clothing to it? Steps:
1) Load Toon Generations 2 character.
2) Load Toon Generation Homerun Baseball Uniform
3) autofit dialogue - Toon Generations (3D Universe)
4) same with the Baseball mitt
If you want instead to fit to a Toon Generations for Genesis 8 (aka Toon Generations 3) or Toon Generations 4 for Genesis 8 then
1) Load Toon Generations 2 character.
2) Load Toon Generation Homerun Baseball Uniform
3) autofit dialogue - Toon Generations (3D Universe) / fullbody
4) same with the Baseball mitt - Toon Generations (3D Universe) / none-not supported
5) Load a Toon Generations 3 or Toon Generations 4 character
6) Select the Toon Generations Homerun uniform in the scene tab and parent to Toon Generations 3 or Toon Generations 4
7) autofit dialogue - Genesis 3 Male / fullbody
8) same with the baseball mit - Genesis 3 Male / none-not supported
Notes:
1) baseball hat will fit but the bill/visor will crumble. You will have to use a baseball hat made for Genesis (any Genesis generation will do) and re-texture it. Or load the Toon Generations baseball hat without the character selected, and then scale and position the hat so that it looks like from the angle your camera is at it fits (it doesn't but if it looks like it does that is OK) and then drag the hat so that it is parented to the head bone. Not you can use the original Homerun hat textures too.
2) Baseball mitt as the uniform above but DAZ Studio is automatically mirroring the baseball mitt on both hands. Use the Homerun utility to hide one of them (may not work, I've not tried lately.) This bug used to not be there as I've used the baseball mitt on TG 2 like this before.
3) Baseball, Baseball Bat, Baseball Field all should be scaled bigger. I chose 175% to be "about right".
If you still have trouble ask again & I will upload the scene file you see in the example image.

So ... please correct me if I'm misunderstanding ... Apologies for all the awkward questions. I'm genuinely trying to understand this correctly.

These NFT "people" are somewhat like characters from a book, TV series, or movie. They're all technically fictional, run by a team including a writer, a voice actor (or actress), and a 3D artist. The intent is for each character to be as realistic as humanly possible.
The channel is about connecting ... either with the NFT's, or else their artists / writers / voice actors. Maybe sometimes a combination of the characters, and members of the teams behind them?
The first 8,888 NFT's do not include any binary males. For whatever reason, those in charge of this channel felt a need to highlight this missing group by pointing out they have other groups.
Is that a fair summary?
Not exactly. Basically the marketing information for the page/Discord server was written in the voice of the NFPs themselves. Like the Victoria 8 Facebook page says Hello, my name is Victoria 8 and I am... (or at least used to though I assume it still does LOL) So the "we" is the Collection talking about itself not the people behind it, the customers, etc. (Hopefully that clarifies better?)
As for the collection, I apologize if you are upset by the wording or feel excluded. I am fairly certain there will be other sets but there always needs to be a first one and since the charity was going to Women in Tech, they made the collection coincide with that (Assumption on my part, I am not in the know on the choices)
If you wish to discuss your feelings on the wording further, you can put in a help ticket: https://helpdaz.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new and choose sales support and let them know your feelings, although the concern has been passed on.

Hmm. I glanced over this thread, and my first question is not about the technicalities (I may or may not wrestle with those later).
I looked at FAQ's, and was honestly a little unsettled by the following ...
"8,888 generative 3D PFPs designed to portray powerful, self-expressive women and non-binary people from all walks of life. Like every woman and non-binary person IRL, this collection highlights how not one character is the same. Each has their own unique qualities and characteristics that are all beautifully rendered into hyper-realistic 3D Non-Fungible People."
----
The first thought to come to my mind is, "Are [binary] men excluded, or unwelcome?"
That is not discussing the people joining or the people participating but is rather discussing this specific collection they created - it is written from the collections voice so of similar to how Victoria 8 has a Facebook page and its written as if it is "her page" and she is writing to the audience. Sorry for any confusion.
Would it be possible, please, to clarify this in that statement ... so nobody else gets confused?

Or better yet, maybe mention clearly among the FAQ's that everyone is welcome even if no product currently exists that represents them?
I'll leave my prior reply to Mr. Haletine's reply to tend the other concerns.
Thanks for your time, and here's hoping you have a great day ... even though you are at work and must wrestle the odd awkward forum post.
We will pass it along...
Hmm. Maybe the simplest solution would be to simply remove the labels / limits??
Example:
"8,888 generative 3D PFPs designed to portray powerful, self-expressive women and non-binary people from all walks of life. Like every woman and non-binary person IRL, this collection highlights how not one character is the same. Each has their own unique qualities and characteristics that are all beautifully rendered into hyper-realistic 3D Non-Fungible People."
Just a thought. Trying to be helpful.

Legacy UVs for Genesis 8 [Commercial]Cayman Studios said:
Genesis 8.1 Female has been released by DAZ today. I have provided updates for all four Genesis 8 Female Legacy UVs products: Victoria 4, Victoria 5, Victoria 6 and Genesis 2 Female, and they should be available now through DIM and other download methods. The scripts have been amended to accommodate the new figure and surface changes, and there are new UV Sets for the new 8.1 Eyelashes mesh. The operation of the products should be as before.
If you have any problems or questions please let me know.
I just puchased and installed Legacy UVs for Genesis 8/Victoria 4. I used Daz Central to install. It's not working with 8.1. It says "You must select a Genesis 8 Female figure in the Scene before running this script."
Kaeko issueNo problem. That was a sneaky one. Any users who have Victoria 7 (and I'm sure there are many) would never see the error, nor notice anything different. You never know when something might trip you up.
Genesis to Genesis 8 ConverterI don't know of any direct morph converter from Genesis to Genesis 8. You could use GenX2 and its add-ons to convert them to Genesis 2 (or G3) then use the G2 (or G3) to G8 converter though.
For textures, a lot of Genesis characters used V4 or M4 UVs, so you would need those:
https://www.daz3d.com/legacy-uvs-for-genesis-8-michael-4
https://www.daz3d.com/legacy-uvs-for-genesis-8-victoria-4
If the texture you want to use is made for another of Genesis UV sets you could use Map Transfer in DS to create a version of the textures using V4 or M4 UVs.

... honestly, although it's an odd angle and it's partially hidden, it looks like it could just be Vicky 8.1
The skin probably, but the headshot has a chin cleft and Victoria 8.1 doesn't.
There's a morph for the chin cleft, but that said, you have me very curious if that's a different character than Vicky 8.1
I could be a morph, but Krashwerks over at Rendo has many characters with cleft chins (it's a bit of their signature) so maybe it's a blend with one of those and Victoria?
