It would have been a nice finale if the calendar had worked until the end, but I'm not upset about it. For a whole long month, I collected tons of freebies and almost-freebies, and I'm grateful for that. Happy New Year!

I believe I edited the dsf files directly. (I've done it many times since Oct 2024 for other assets. I don't recall if I ever filed a ticket. Nor do I know if the actual store asset was ever fixed. I don't think it has since the package date, according to DIM, is still April 2024.

Many thanks for the countless gifts and overwhelming sales we got to PAs and of course also to DAZ! Wish everybody the best for the upcoming / new year of 2026!

The item I got today was a $13.95 g2f texture set, and that with  3 punches - I do own the outfit, and it's better than nothing; but it's a bit disappointing compared to the rest of my advent items. Oh well. On to the new year!

Welcome, and I hope you'll enjoy the experience, both rendering and shopping.

As for whether it's common. In general, yes. With multiple stacking offers there's usually something that will break something else... Having said that, this year the calendar has been running extremely smoothly, and was set up the way that allowed users to build their own pools of items which they'd like to be offered. Two years ago we had at least 4 or 5 days where the calendar didn't reset at Daz midnight but rather UTC midnight, causing all sorts of issues and a lot of discontent, so one missed day is not that much of a thing in comparison ;).

In general, if you want to preserve your sanity, remember that there's always another sale, and forum users are here to help figure out issues with not working coupons, botched promo wording, and so on. It's probably the most friendly and helpful community I've personally seen.

Same to you! <3 Holidays are a little... off-beat... for Little Dude. He doesn't have an understanding of mythical gift-bearers (makes me glad I got to do the Santa/Ostara Bunny/Tooth Fairy thing with Teen Kiddo) and gets overwhelmed at too much new stuff at once, so presents are opened gradually over the next few weeks, when he seems like he's in a place to enjoy something new. But he has lots of fun stuff incoming. Teen Kiddo made quite the haul of video games, and I'm absolutely spoiled with new music. Santa was indeed generous. :)

Well it looks like my advent calendar is playing up as well, as even with 3 punches, I too only have a paid option. Got loads through the month though so I can't really complain! :)

At this point I have my fingers crossed for an orange banner tomorrow, given folk in other time zones would miss it due to (very reasonably) going to bed. 

After all, if they're going to advertise a free item with punches, they should honor that claim.

I can only suggest to try with any of the products I was able to get, maybe some items are not correctly assigned to the code

The mini computer I've bought is fabulously fast and works brilliantly with Daz Studio, Carrara, Bryce, Poser and Blender. 

I'm getting fast renders and increased stability. Also the ability to do things which my old Windows 10 machine doesn't do. 

I don't use 3delight very often anyway but I've saved the older Daz Studio so that I will still have the option. 

I see no reason why I would be "stuck" with cpu rendering. I was using integrated cpu/gpu on my slow old machine but now I'm rendering without delay. 

ok.. my last render for the challenges and for the year... 

I wanted to redo an old render so I picked the STRIPE one I did for January 2014... the old version was done in 3delight and since we are seeing it go by the wayside from what i've read... I remade it to IRAY... I had to tweak some textures and I lost some of the stripe fabrics I had from the original so it looks a little different.  I still can't get THE KIDS to look as realistic as I like... I always thought it was the lighting but I'm beginning to think it's the textures on the kids.. they are quite flat.  The poses are stiff... but overall I like the new Iray version... here is before and after.. I'll be sad to see the challenge retire, but real life must always come first!  It's sounds like you've got a lot on your plate right now, so I hope any art you do can be for relaxation, not as an obligation.  You are always such a sweet, joyful presence here on the forums, your posts make me smile ^_^  I'll be praying for you and your family, and thanks for letting us know!!!!

'Tis the time of year nobody sleeps. Especially little kids with eyes aglow!  Tonight will be a sleepless one for sure. Some of my neigbors will be firing off fireworks until 2 AM. That's about the time one particular family, two doors away, pulls out the Kareoke machine, cranks up the mic volume, and very drunk people sing very off key I should tape them, blow the leaves off my outdoor speaker system, crank up the volume and play it back at 7 am LOL, tempting, but deleting the thought.

I'm heading into the New Year with some good steps already.

I've been making cartoons featuring the Genesis 8 "seniors." My friends love them.

I'll be getting some new color laserjet cartridges. My senior friends prefer to see printed art. It's hard for many of them to look at my iPad.

I'll be starting a new Portrait Painting class on January 6. It appears we'll have the same friends who were in the flower painting class.

My one hope for this year: I hope I don't lose hearing in my only good ear.

At the beginning of 2025, a blood vessel in my right ear burst. (It was a freak happening). I lost hearing in my right ear.

The first few months were difficult. I got my new hearing aids on April Fool's Day.

A New Year's Eve Complaint:  Well, that was irritating.  I've been opening champagne bottles for 40 years and never have I had a cork refuse to cooperate.  It wouldn't budge.  When my arthritic hands failed, I used a jar lid opener and that failed to grip tight enough.  I tried warming the bottle neck gently but was afraid of stressing the cold glass and shattering it.  So I dug into my stored away collection of kitchen instruments and found my long abandoned leavered, winebottle, corkscrew, vice thingie and realized that I couldn't use it directly because champagne corks are different than wine corks.  Wine corks are simply cylinders stuffed completely into the neck of the bottle.  Whereas, champagne bottle corks are shaped like buttontop mushrooms, with about 3/4 of an inch of the cork top bulging above the lip of the neck to allow one to grab and twist the cork.  So the leavered, winebottle, corkscrew, vice thingie couldn't get its anvil down onto the lip of the neck because of the bulge of the mushroom top in the way.  Ah ha, says I, I'll just cut the mushroom top off and then use the corkscrew thingie as if it were a wine bottle.   A razor blade and several minutes of fidgeting finally decapitated the cork and I was finally able to get the corkscrew down through the stuck,  super compressed, super dense cork and gently, slowly, millimeter by millimeter, tease the cork from the bottle, to the point at which it POPed violently throwing the cork and corkscrew thingie out of my hands and across the kitchen sink clattering against the window and knocking my collection of cheap little ceramic animals into the sink.  Thankfully, there was no volcano of defizzed champagne.   I'd been taught to hold the cork and release the gas slowly like a like a baby fart instead of an explosion, to avoid the fountain and wasting a quarter of the bottle.  Apparently Mumm brut is not that type of champagne. (Something to note)  Now, after two glasses it doesn't bother me anymore.  Wheee...  the night has begun.  And no ceramic animals were harmed in the process.
