Nah... but..well, it'll be just a little cubersome if you wanna do so... You said asset owner is DAZ, I assume you've modified a Genesis Base Figure, probably...
For the figure, let's say a Genesis 9, all the geometry (vertices), rigging and weight data are stored in data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 9\Base\Genesis9.dsf. You cannot distribute it and its derivatives at all. You've saved a new figure asset with all the modification, so it's a 'derivative'.
In this case, you need to 'recreate' a modified figure with no DSON Support Files (dsf), i.e. a pure 'scene-based' modified figure, then save the scene file.... Let's still use G9 as an example:
1) New scene. Load your modified G9 figure (A) into the scene, Zero it. Load default G9 (B).
2) Transfer Utility - Source: A, Target: B. Distance Tolerance: 0. Only check Weight Maps in General Options ! Uncheck everything in Post Transfer Options. Accept...
3) Memorize Figure Rigging.
4) Delete A. Save the scene file. Now all rigging / weight data are saved within the scene file. Check duf file with Notepad++.
* If you have also rigged attachments (anatomical elements, etc.), as well as weights, replicate the process on them accordingly.PS: As for morph files if there's any, always import objs with Reverse + Delta Only. Then they could be shared.

Yes... old but still have that memory. Because of the rigging and ERC Freezing issue of Dwarf Base(eyes have translate values...), you have to create another single dial by export / import Dwarf Base, re-rigging ( use Rigger Plus! default Adjust Rigging to Shape is not perfect, with artifacts...) and ERC Freezing. Reload G2M, then go for conversion with GenX. (...while GenX is not perfect though)
If you know Hexagon or Blender, etc, finetune it a bit (smoothe torso, refine limbs, etc...)

Yes, I know there is a Daz to Blender exporter, that's not the question and kind of weird if there is still only a one way street with this.I want to return the "New" Scene menu item to the old behavior. How?This is defnitely one of the most annoying changes in the new version so far... I seriously dislike it, already went over the "About plugins" section in hopes that we might be able to prevent the whole wizzard pane from loading but no such luck it seems. I also completely fail to understand the logic here.. when I want a new scene I want just that: a new scene, and a bit quickly if it can be helped.
I think this pane would have been much more useful as an extended load option. I mean, there is some value in being able to quickly open scenes you previously worked on, but NOT when all I want is to quickly clear my current scene in order to continue working by dragging a new figure in and work on a new pose or morph or whatever.
Of course the Daz documentation site decided to give up on me with errors making it even more difficult to check up on how I should create such a custom action, which only adds up to my agitation. Never done this before... ugh! Eventually I figured it out, thanks to Google and another 3D website...
SO... here's to those of us who like me never created a custom action before while also wondering how to get rid of this annoying wizzard:
- Fire up Daz Studio where you should be met with an empty scene; if not empty then you'll have to go through this annoying new scene wizzard.
- Immediately use: File => Save as.. => Scene. Name it "Empty scene" or something.
- Optionally (but highly recommended): Go to your content library pane, find this new empty scene in "My Daz Library => Scenes" and after you confirmed its existance: create a new folder in your library called "Templates" then move the empty scene file in there. For 2 reasons: by moving it you'll break the metadata path which means this empty scene won't show up in the "Saved Files" section of the smart content pane (which would be even more annoying!). Second: by using a dedicated "templates" folder it'll be much easier to remember why there's an empty scene file when you look into this at a later time.
- Either way.. in that same content library pane right click on the empty scene file, then use "Create custom action". You can pick whatever menu you'd like, I went for "Favorites" with the label "New scene".
- Now follow up on what Crosswind mentioned above: press F3 to open the customization screen, then you'll find your new custom action under the "Custom" header. Here you can assign the Control + N shortcut to it.
- Also optional: this custom action works independent of any menus. So if you want your pulldown menu to return the way it was you could consider removing the Favorites or Scripts menu. Press F3 and then check the "Menu" tab on the right. Here you'll find "Main menu bar" which will now contain "Favorites" or "Scripts" or whatever. From here you can easily remove the menu item entirely.

DIM installs "/People/Genesis 8 Female/Characters/Carole 8.1.duf", so that is why you see it in the Characters in the Content Library. The DAZ metadata included in DIM for the Carole product does not include any metadata at all for that file, though, as far as I can see. I was able to assign an asset type and category successfully with the Content DB Editor and drag and drop it into the product. You can submit a help request about the metadata error, if you think there is any hope of getting it fixed. Or, you can just fix it yourself, like I did and move on with life.
Thanks, I've reported it along with a couple of other content issues that I've been working around. I'm sure it will be fixed within days

Otherwise I'll do the fix as you suggested.

Thanks, there's a thread from release time that states that the DIM version is missing a file. I've reported and I'll wait for a fix, otherwise I'll fix it and see if it resolves the conflict.
DAZ can't find most of my contentI don't use Smart Content at all. Never even open the pane.
But if you want Smart Content to work, you Must correct the issues with DIM to get the metadata files where they need to be.

Ok I think I know what causing the problem.
It seems the problem occurs, when a character have a graft.
When I deleted it, I can exported and did morph loader.
As far as I remember, it used to be no problem, am I wrong?Yes, if so, geograft was the culprit... probably you were not wrong but that would depend. If you exported the selected figure with Geometry Editor activated, the result would be correct 'cause all grafts would be unfitted...
Therefore if you wanna export such a figure to obj, you may either activate Geometry Editor or unfit the graft(s) first before exporting...

Which is by Out of Touch and presumably is calling the custom shader with a map in the Transmitted Colour channel - select the hair, open the Surfaces pane, select the hair there, and type transm in the filter box - click the little icon/nano-thumbnail next to the colour picker for the transmitted Colour and select None.

and it crashes now where as 4.21 had no problem with it and hour earlier.
the log file shows a load of deallocation errors and i tried deleting items for the scene and found it was the Leony hair another thread mentioned the trans map and i deleted that in surfaces and the scene now renders. I did not update the nvidia driver so why did 4.22 crash on this?
Also i noticed errors with Lyra's ears in the log is this something to worry about?
Edit I have tried more hairs and it seem to be other OOT that crash very confused

4.22 crashes when renderingHi
I am getting crashes on some scenes that worked perfectly just before the update for example I have

and it crashes now where as 4.21 had no problem with it and hour earlier.
the log file shows a load of deallocation errors and i tried deleting items for the scene and found it was the Leony hair another thread mentioned the trans map and i deleted that in surfaces and the scene now renders. I did not update the nvidia driver so why did 4.22 crash on this?
Also i noticed errors with Lyra's ears in the log is this something to worry about?
Edit I have tried more hairs and it seem to be other OOT that crash very confused

How to export obj in DAZ 4.22 correctly?Using the G8F on a new scene, I can make it works now.
But I tried on my real scene and export a character in base resolution (I make sure), it failed still.I used the standard export, I tried the script, import morph loader not working, still geometry not the same.

Ok I think I know what causing the problem.
It seems the problem occurs, when a character have a graft.
When I deleted it, I can exported and did morph loader.

How to export obj in DAZ 4.22 correctly?I use another script to hide attachment.
I use ITF kit to export in base model in one click.
Standard exporter doesnt work too.I've tried many times.

I assume you wanna rig a non-Daz figure with just a single mesh.... but you have to really 'rig' it rather than a simple parenting...
Personally I really don't suggest such a way. I myself use Wrap... wrap the target model with Genesis X figure then import back to Ds as a morph.
Need To Download Everything%AppData% is an Environment Variable set by the OS. You can just copy/paste the whole string in a file explorer address bar and it will go there (typically C:\Users\[your account]\AppData\Roaming\ for Windows). If you really want to know, open a command prompt and type SET. The environment variables are listed alphabetically.
Necessary S/W are all the programs you need to successfully run Studio, DIM, database engine (there might be more, but I can't recall). If you use DIM, open the Default Install Sets popup (Configuration Settings) to get an idea. You'll find out what's missing soon enough. DIM is the only part that is installed standalone, other than maybe Studio if you do it that way, but everything else will be available through DIM.
Exporting and Importing metadata is done with the Content DB Maintenance suite of utilities, part of Studio. Right-click Content Library tab or Smart Content tab. Export User Data to save your content customization before anything. When re-importing metadata, do the products first, then the User Data after. I have had some extreme adventures trying to do all at once.
