  • Update from 4.12 to 4.14 breaks GPU rendering for both my Mac Pro machines

    I have 2 Mac Pros (5,1 and 3,1) each with a GTX 1070. They have been running 4.12 (and 4.12.1). When I upgraded one to 4.14 recently on one of them, it completely broke GPU rendering. I tried clearing the DAZ3d application support and preferences, creating a new user account with fresh settings, and reinstalling Daz and Daz central. I even tried to downgrade to 4.12 by copying my version of 4.12 from my other Mac Pro which had not yet updated to 4.14. The issue persisted, and I was beginning to think it was my graphics card. But then I tried imaging the SSD with a clone of the SSD from the other Mac Pro, so they both have the exact same OS and Daz and CUDA and everything. This fixed the issue. So I assumed, the issue was something with other unknown variables associated with the install of the OS or DAZ. But then I tried to upgrade to 4.14, assuming it would work now, and the same issue came back again immediately. Again, the only solution was to re-image the hard drive. I tried on the other Mac Pro now, after making a backup of the hard drive for imaging in case it happened on that one too. After upgrading the other Mac Pro to 4.14, it did start having the exact same issues. So I can perfectly reproduce this issue every time on two computers, and all I have to do is install  Daz 4.14, and it breaks my GPU rendering. It will always fall back to CPU now, and if I force it to use GPU, it will not render at all. It will continue to say "Preparing scene" and the progress bar resets itself over and over. And this is with an empty scene with a cube primitive. Any ideas?

  • !! Store Issues - Known Problems - Please Read !!

    I'm missing multiple products in DIM, DAZ Central, and even my Product Library download links on the site itself. I've filed a ticket, but no idea when it will get handled (and it isn't time sensitive anyway). Edit: Whoops! I didn't realize that bundle pages just link to their individual products on the site now.

    does it say 'Purchased' in red or 'Add to Cart' in green? 

    If it's saying 'Add to Cart' then you don't own the required product.   
     

     

    You are right it shows me that I can add it to card, but I actually paid it ??? And I find it at my orders list and it's in my daz central????

  • Extreme frustration with logging in.

    Update - I was able to manually install Daz Studio and log in to my account from the program but still unable to use DIM or Central.

    I've read everything I can find on the log in issues with the email/password "incorrect".  I'm not using special characters and my password is longer than 7 characters.  I've changed my password numerous times and I still can not log in!  This is going on two - three weeks now.  Yes, I have a ticket "supposedly" open that states that Daz will probably not get back in touch with me for 4 to 6 weeks :( .  Extremely frustrating!!

    On top of that, I've tried updating my email numerous times to no avail as well (that was stated in the ticket also).  This is a new windows hard drive that I'm trying to install on, but Daz gives me the same error message when trying to open on my already establised desktop.

    Any advice to be able to log in and download my products without having to this manually?  I'm at the end of my rope with Daz and their lack of help on their support ticket end.

    Showing Daz Central only usually means "Somebody forgot all the download files. For any install method." Hopefully it does get fixed soon.

  • MMX Fantasy Eyes Mini for Genesis 3 and 8 not loaded

    I recently purchased [MMX Fantasy Eyes Mini for Genesis 3 and 8] this for my Genesis 8 females and males. However, upon installing it, I can't seem to find them. I did try to look in the Smart Content Tab under all files, i checked the antomy tab, I checked the figures then clicked "Explore Product" on both the genesis 3/8 females/males, no luck. I tried looking into the materials, thinking that maybe it was in there, didn't find it there either. I went into the content library as well to look for the file, still couldn't find it. I went into Daz Central and ununstalled it/reinstalled it several times and still couldn't find it. Mind you, this was free for the holidays, but still. I really wanted this product to work, and I can't find it anywhere. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

  • Three Questions Regarding Files And File Structure

    I have a couple of questions regarding files and file structure for Daz add-ons. 

    1. I am learning to 3D model (not Hexagon just yet) for someone who uses Daz Studio to compose pictures. I can save my models as either .3ds or .obj. Is one of them better for import into Daz Studio? If so which?

    2. What file structure do I need to include when I send the model to my friend? Can I just put the model and textures in the same zip or rar file or do I need to imbed the textures in a sub directory?

    3. Where do I put .duf (pose) files so that I can apply them to figures in Daz Studio? My friend sent me several poses so that I can make mannikins to use for scale when modelling for him. I need to know where to put those pose files. Assume I have Daz Studio, Hexagon, Daz Central and Daz Install Manager all installed at the normal default file locations. 

    Many thanks in advance for helping a total and very ignorant noob.

  • Daz Central issues

    Daz Central has a pretty interface, but it doesn't work nearly as well as install manager for actually intalling stuff.

    And you can't hide products you don't want installed, or do a number of the other things Manager does.

    Are there any plans to fix these things so it actually does the job that Install Manger does?

    Or should we plan on just installing everything by hand from now on?

    Hi, Richard.

    I installed the product within DazStudio by clicking on the greyed out product icon in the Smart Content panel. I rarely do so, typically relying on the Install Manager instead. Does Daz Studio introduce prolems when called on to install a product?

    You mentioned opening a ticket. I'm fairly new to the forum. How can I do that?

    It didn't install correctly. You could download the zip and copy everything from inside the Content folder in the zip to /Data/Cloud/1_72471/ so it overwrites the bad files, or you could uninstall through DS and install through Install Manager/Daz Central. I see this too and need to get a ticket in (though you could open a ticket too).

    Daz Central, it messed up, I uninstalled it, tried to reinstall and now I can't use Daz on this computer AT ALL, and I have lost everythiung I had in it.

    Daz wants to get rid of it or at least let people decide for themselves if they want it,I DON'T.

  • Moved DAZ Studio to new drive, now only shows some content in Smart Content

    I AM HAVING THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE!

    Except one addition, I only had downloaded/installed half of my content before noticing that it was taking up far too much space on my ssd (boot drive), so I opened daz just to test that everything was working fine on my new computer. Everything worked as expected and smart content was all there. Then I moved everything to another drive (an hdd), and after ensuring all the paths were targeted correctly in daz central and DIM, I downloaded the rest of my content onto the HDD directly through DIM. Everything is working fine, it's all there in the content library, but in smart content there's only 16 items (which also say theyre not installed, but are in the installed tab for some reason). I have over 1800 assets for clarity. 

    I can get files to be recognized in smart content if i download them through daz connect within daz studio, and it installs onto the HDD still, but it seems really impractical to do that when everything is already downloaded. I really can't figure out what's wrong. I uninstalled and reinstalled daz and the dirtectories are all correct in the content manager settings but its just not recognizing anything in smart content!!!!

    Trying to install Daz 4.5, which requires installation of Daz Central, and not asking me to install Daz to Bridge...and select a Path for Daz to Blender. What does that mean?

    No, the *.enc should not be there. I have seen that a lot with DAZ Connect installs. As a rule of thumb, anything that has encrypted scripts inside is likely to fail when installed via DAZ Connect. I would recommend to uninstall from DAZ Connect and install via DIM. I have not had any issues with encrypted scripts installed via DIM so far. 

    The .enc indicates that the script did not install correctly. The issue with running scripts from Connect has nothing to do with whether or not they are encrypted, it's down to the script not "realising" that it may not be where the CMS reports it as being - I know some of my scripts make assumptions in that way, and would fail if run from a Connect install. Unfortunately it's a difficult thing to troubleshoot, especially when the script is being written initially and when it acesses external files for some of its functionality.

    DAZ Connect may not be the culprit, but I have seen this happening ONLY with DAZ Connect and (sometimes) with DAZ Central so far. Absolutely any script I have installed with DIM was installed correctly. I do not really care who is to blame, but I think it generates a lot of very unneccessary frustration on the user side.

    You find a product that looks great, from promo renders and the description, and think "wow, that's what I need". You buy it, install it, and then - bang - nothing works. Because you where so "enthusiastic" in having it, the frustration of having a product that does not work at all is even higher.

  • Install with one clic... is it possible ?

    Hello.
    I have 1 question please.

    How to install, with a single click, all the resources that Daz Central has downloaded? I am indeed reinstalling all the files I bought on PC / Windows. Before, I was on MacOS. And on MacOS, I was able to select all of my files, or only part of it, and launch the installation with one click. There, I am forced to click on "install" file by file ... I will have it for days.

  • Can Anyone help me with Deleting Category Metada?

    If that category is in the original metadata file, it is considered read-only vendor data. Reading in a new copy of the metadata should replace what is there. How are you installing? If using DAZ Connect, I don't know if there is a way to replace the metadata, since Connect will always try to re-assert itself (metadata updates was one of the selling points, but if it is wrong...)

    If you use DIM (or Central, I guess, I don't use that either) you will have to export your modified metadata and re-import it. With the Sync Product and Local Database unchecked, export (if auto-export is not checked) and overwrite the existing file. If you use DIM to install, you still have the original, so you can always get it back. From DIM, find the product in the Installed tab, right-click on it and select "Re-Import Metadata". The new file should replace the metadata for the product in the database.

    Note: I haven't done it that way specifically, but I have manually edited the metadata file to do exactly the same type of changes, and that does correct the problem. I suggest backing up a copy of that new metadata file in case you need to re-install the product at some point.

    Tip: You can select multiple items in the top half to modify all of them at the same time. In the bottom half, select one item and expand the tree to see the categories. Right-click on the one to remove, and select "Delete Selected Categories from Listed Files". Boom.

  • Daz Central Keeps Crashing and Won't install anything

    Hi! I have been having issues with Daz central for the past 3 days now and I am very frustrated right now. First, it started with Daz studio not responding and I ended up uninstalling it thinking that would help. But now, Daz central won't work and it keeps crashing so am unable to reinstall Daz studio ???????????? Has this been happening to anyone lately or is it just me ???? I tried to install Daz Central so far too but every time I reinstall it, it won't respond and starts crashing. help, please !!!!
