Custom morph from morphed figure
- there are drawbacks to combining them in a single custom morph: if some of the morphs you used as part of the mix triggers some related corrective morphs (eg to correct posing or expressions) you would lose those when using your custom morph as they wouldn't be linked to your new morph
- it wouldn't work for HD morphs as only Daz PAs have access to the tools needed to create HD morphs.
Thanks for your reply. I am not intending to share them ATM as most of my packets are not MR. Hovewer, I quoted some of the things I didn’t understand fully.
The first point is conpletely too complex to me :O
the second one: HD morphs. I’ve never heard of them before. Does this have to do anyrhing with HD figure? Also, what is daz PA?
thanks
Custom morph from morphed figureYou could create such a morph by exporting the resulting shape as obj then loading that obj as a morph with morph loader in DS.
But:
- you wouldn't be allowed to share it unless those morphs are merchant resources which specifically allow this. If you used regular morphs you are actually supposed to share a preset so that the person using it needs the original packs.
- there are drawbacks to combining them in a single custom morph: if some of the morphs you used as part of the mix triggers some related corrective morphs (eg to correct posing or expressions) you would lose those when using your custom morph as they wouldn't be linked to your new morph

Custom morph from morphed figureWell, i’ll try to explain this as much as possible. Let’s say I use Gen8 figure in Daz and use some morphs on it (I change face, body etc). Then, I can either save those presets as my figure OR export it. If I save that figure as a preset, the person who I share it with (or even me) needs ALL the morph packages used by that figure.
My goal is to create a custom figure out of it so I can apply those morphs without extras (if I reset my library or something). Maybe achieve a single custom morph that changes head/body at once or to apply that figure directly. Either way is fine.
I searched for similar topics but couldnt find any. I hope there is a way.
TIA
Welcome to Hatsune Miku Anime Manga Cafe ☕Hi all!
I need some advice.
I wanna make Haruhi Suzumiya Great again model, but don't know, which Daz model is better for that anime style? Here are a quick sample render of the Haruhi Suzumiya using Futepens Sera and NearMe, these are bases I did not morph faces or anything, but you can see that Daz Software is possible.

Also I'm no fan of that character :P
Is there an app/program that will transfer morphs/shape between Generations?GenX and its various addons can transfer morphs between Genesis 1, 2, and 3: https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-generation-x2 It can also transfer morphs from generations 3 and 4 (michael and victoria 3 and 4 for example) to Genesis. However, it does not work with Genesis 8.No one asked me - Diomede screenshots on whatever - Warning AI Discussion OKHere is a new car chassis. I am doing the tires separately so that I can use the spin modifier instead of using a morph to spin the tires.
Mesh plus UV map. Test render with checker procedural. Should be easy to morph and texture to get a few different toy cars.
Is there an app/program that will transfer morphs/shape between Generations?Hello y'all,
I would love an application that would allow the transfer of shapes and morphs between generations of Genesis. There are several out there for skin/surface, but I haven't come across one for SHAPE. I would purchase such a product and I can't imagine that others wouldn't also. I do understand that such a application could possibly decrease future sales of new toons (but only reproduction of old stuff - the truly new would be unaffected).
So if anyone knows of such a product or knows of a way to accomplish this, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks

I Forgot What My Complaint Was - Complaint ThreadI think part of it is copying the rig to it.
Makes sense, still seems like some arcane art to me though xD
Ditto goes for people who make things as simple as pose packs or morph targets for existing content, I never ever figured out how to do that right.
Other random stuff:
--Again with the DUF-only thing with new stuff. Really nice dinosaur - DUF ONLY! Sigh. Wish they'd just put out a DUF-to-CR2 converter or something... That new dinosaur looks so nice ;v;
--Working on making a certain effect in Cinema. I go looking for possible solutions/alternatives. I find some, but most involve things I can't use (Studio-only features like Cloth Sims, expensive plugins I can't afford, or require version 15+)
--On the version thing. InterposerPro stopped being produced around R14 or so. Meaning on the amazingly unlikely chance I do get the latest Cinema - Studio or not - I'll be missing out entirely on my stuff. I really don't like the idea of having to export between apps (especially if there's something I want to change, which is often) though I'm already kinda forced to do that with C4D/Vue and ModernDAZ/Everything so... Studio would at least give me the ability to recreate the Morph system though. PLUS DYNAMICS. I LOVE DYNAMICS.
--Was up all night again. Great that I'm having fun messing with 3D again but I really need sleep :V
--Non complaint: Got Vue 10 and CarbonScatter back up and running. :D
--Minor Complaint: Will need to go through that again in a few months since aiming for a new computer hah
--Also meh in that you buy a collection of models for your app of choice (Cinema 4D in my case) and the bundle isn't exactly provided in a library-ready structure. It's basically like you buying content off the store here and then you have to manually assign the Textures, Figures, and etc folders to their respective spots individually if you want it to be recognized by the browser. The scene file loads fine on its own, but if I want it to be in one of C4D's libraries for quick accessing, I needed to manually open each and every file, make sure the textures got saved to it properly since Cinema's super-finicky with texture paths, and then save each model to the library one by one

Morph is moving the target prop way out of positionOk I guess I'm not making myself clear. It doesn't fail to import the morph. It reports morph loaded successfully, but moves the prop WAY out of position when I slide the morph dial, something I usually associate with a scaling error.
Here is the screen shot, "Fixed Blender" (which is simply the Blender preset with the axis corrected in Daz), The Daz preset is default - no changes at all (for the times when I export back out in Daz scale, which USUALLY solves this intermittent problem, but is not doing so in this case). I can post that one too, but as I say, it is vanilla -out of the box Daz scale.
Morph is moving the target prop way out of positionTake a screen shot of the options dialogue successful OBJ import and the failed morph import - I'm pretty sure there's a mis-match (it's geernally best to use a preset, then DS takes care of converting the scale and any axis changes).
Morph is moving the target prop way out of positionGood morning everyone,
I'm morphing one of my existing products to change it's shape. This is a support asset. It's a prop (a bathtub to be exact).
I exported the existing prop as an obj to be absolutely sure the placement would appear in Blender precisely where it loads in Daz. The scale is correct, the placement is correct. I worked from that obj rather than the original mesh file. I exported the object back out. I imported it in to DAZ to make sure the scale and placement were correct. So far so good. I then loaded the morph in morph loader pro, double checking the settings that I was indeed importing at the correct scale. Morph loads successfully. However, when I apply the morph, the bathtub moves halfway across the galaxy. It does change the shape as I intended, but doesn't leave the prop in place.
Next step, I import the morph obj mesh in to Daz, and re-export it at Daz scale to see if that works. No dice. It still acts as though there is a scale issue, even with all of those precautions.
What should I check?
Thanks,
Causam

Why will genesis 8 female not load any more ?Uh... I don't believe that is the case. At least not unless the connect version works differently. Only morphs that have been dialed in will be loaded. This is why loading a character that has a lot of morphs applied (set to non-zero values at some point, I don't know if setting them back to zero will strip them out the next time you save and load it) will take longer. You can see this in the Studio log. If your figure is coming in with all morphs applied there may be something else going on. But you can see what morphs load in the log when you load a new G8F figure, and you can apply some morphs and look at the log to see the morph deltas being loaded as you apply morphs.
All the morph files have to be read, otherwise DS won't know which sldiers to show or which other sliders will trigger or be triggered by a given slider. DS doesn't keep the deltas - the actual changes in vertex position - in memory after reading the file if the value is zero but the number of files will affect how quickly the figure loads, as (I suspect) will the complexity of their relationships. Do those of you with slow loading have Caryn, and if you do does Genesis 8 male also load slowly? What (if any) other characters or morph sets have you installed since the figure was loading more quickly?
I hadn't used 4.10 in a long time, so there were quite a few changes I'd made since then. I have Caryn and Tobyn - both are PA versions. For me Genesis 8 Male loads quickly in 4.10 - along with the previous Genesis generations. All load within about 20 seconds. It was just Genesis 8 Female that took ages (about 10 minutes) to load. I'm not super worried about it since I mainly use 4.11, and I don't have any load time issues with 4.11. But wanted to mention the issue with 4.10 since the OP was having trouble.

Tika 8 - thoughts@Jardine thanks! Yes, I knew I could try fun things on her... And because so many complained about too many White girls, here I just used the highest translucency skin setting and just tweaked the translucency color a bit, and tada, not a White girl! Used Suki’s eyes and brows and added in some LaTonya morph. I also have an Asian version but I’m posting too much already lol. They are more artistic than totally realistic but it shows you can do more with a “Thorn doll” than just fairies...
Very nice and also very believable.
... And they are all (the characters) dolls. They are there to be manipulated, posed and dressed up, then placed in stories. That sounds to be the purpose that dolls (including anction man) were for.
Calling any charcter a doll, whilst excluding others from the monica seems to me to be disrespectful.
This comment isn't aimed at you btw.Just another "Offended" poster. We all get it. I try and not discriminate between digital doll creations, but sometimes I just can't help myself!
BTW, Wonderland's posts are just terrific! There's a term I've heard called 'Romantic Realism' from 2D art paintings that just might apply to her's (and some PA's) pictures posted here. Just another peg in my thoughts to purchase the product!
I'm not offended, although being singled out and then quoted, does irritate me. I said ("seems to me" to be disrespectful). That is there for someone to start a conversation.
Personally, this thread is starting to get a bit personal and at risk of getting locked. Getting locked would be a shame.

This comment isn't aimed at you btw.I don't think she meant anything by it - I think when people say "Thorne doll" they just mean that many of Thorne's characters are really cute and doll-like. I don't think it's meant to be disrespectful, but more of a descriptor on the style of the characters. :)
I know that, which is why I said I wasn't aiming at Wonderland; I also got that she was showing those that though of the character as just another doll, what could be done with it.
The toddler is excellent; probably the best (imo) render i've seen of Babies8; although I've not been in the thread since the first day, so take that into consideration.
Why will genesis 8 female not load any more ?It happens when I load a base Genesis with nothing else. A ton of different characters show up in my log, even though they are not being applied. When I first got G8, they loaded super quick. Now, not so much. Its not 10 minutes long, but it can take about a minute or more. This applies to every G8 I load, including the base models and even the developer kit versions. And as I said, they don't have any morphs applied. All those morph dials still have to load, or they wouldn't show up available in the shaping or parameter tabs. How do they load otherwise? This happens with every Genesis generation I have. No matter which one I load, there may be dozens of calls for other characters in the log.Why will genesis 8 female not load any more ?Look up your help log file and see what it says. There should be something getting flagged by the log. You can also uninstall just the G8F base and reinstall her. Some data may have become corrupted somehow. Did you install or save anything before this happened? If so, there could be conflicts.
If you have tons and tons of content it could take longer to load. This is because of how Genesis is designed. When you load any Genesis figure, it loads everything. All the different morphs you have from every character you ever installed gets loaded. So the more you have, the longer it can take. This is really something I believe Daz needs to work on, because if they expect users to buy all this content, they seriously need to streamline the loading process for Studio. Its a serious flaw. Victoria 4 may be old, but the way she could load with only base morphs meant she will almost always load quickly, and then you can inject only the shapes you want for that scene. Honestly at this point I think I would prefer going back to that kind of system! It would be so much faster than the mess Genesis becomes with a large library.I've been playing a lot with V4 lately, and even with all the tons of G8F stuff I have, G8F still loads faster than loading those silly morph injections. lol Plus being able to use the sliders to mix all the different morphs and create new and unique characters is fantastic. I've not been able to figure how to do that with V4 yet without the figure getting seriously distorted.
Don't get me wrong, I'm having fun playing with V4 content and rendering the cute V4 characters, but I definitely wouldn't prefer to go back to that kind of system.
Cow!!!!
We have llamas??? Great Caesar's Ghost Batman! Though they don't seem to be for Iray. I wish Iray didn't hate fur so much. But I still am wishlisting them, even though I have no idea what I would actually do. The girl is really adorable, but I don't know what I'd do with her. Then again I don't know what I would do with the cows other than silly things. There is a fantastic ice cream place nearby that is built right on a dairy farm. So we can meet the cows that the milk came from right in front of the shop. The farm also sells their milk and related items direct from the farm. You can even tour the place, and we had a lot fun letting our little niece see the cows. However the poor girl didn't like the milking stations all that much, she had this really serious and creeped out look on her face, LOL. So we got out of there and went back outside to see the calves. She perked right back up.Goofy question, what happens if you dial the morph part way? Do you get some horse-cow hybrid creature? Are there other morphs or props for the Daz Horse that can add weird things with them? Like wings or unicorn horns? <.<
Yes
