rigging problem
That is quit normal.
If you intend to use it with dForce, it will not matter much, if you start from default pose.
If you want to use it partly conforming, you need to smooth the weight (a lot). Transfer utility will generally allocate weigt to th nearest, and thereby you will get a rather sharp line between the torso bones and the arm bones.

Hello everyone,
a cool thread that I like to follow because I also really like filatoon.
I'm actually looking for answers to a specific topic that I haven't found here. If my question doesn't belong here, maybe someone has a tip where I could find answers.
So: I keep trying to convert normal figures into filatoon and usually have problems with the eyes, as you can see in the picture. The pupils are not big enough and I can't enlarge them. Could it be that this doesn't work so well on morphed figures? That I have to use simpler figures? I haven't actually managed to get the eyes right on any normal figure. Does anyone have an idea what I'm doing wrong? I am happy about every tip :-).The light isn´t the problem ;-). I didn´t change it at the moment. It´s from the original iray render.
Best regards, Samara Blue/Kerstin Ellinghoven

Can you morph the eye size/pupils before you convert it? Create the character first, then apply the shaders but don't apply the toon shaders to the eye moisture or sclera.
No, I can´t morph the eyes, but I can try your workflow. Use I the normal eyes or the toon eyes?

@maikdecker It seems like the Premier program is designed to push new figures - recent G9s packed into Character Bundles. I'd be surprised if we get anything for G8.
I don't expect any G8 FIGURES from it... just maybe some figure pack with ITEMS to use with G8
Could even live with poses, as they convert quite nice. Or dForce clothes, that do dForce properly when fit to G8.Won't bother with G9 figures until there's a "transfer figure to G8" option/product...

I dunno, I am really torn about this character.
She's pretty and the quality of the character seems fine overall.
But why sell a 'crusader' character without any visible muscle definition? Face aside, she looks the same as most other G9 Females.
Could we maybe get, at some point, another black person? Another freckled skin? Maybe a Rune 9 oder a Beverly 9? A teenager or maybe even a child? Hell, maybe take another crack at Maryam 9 - that was the coolest idea they had this entire generation and they used the strangest morph and worst materials I have seen since Genesis 1.
Now, my whining aside, the Dryad Add-On and Forest Skin do make up for a lot. Those are very nice. I just wish they were for a more interesting character. Or, rather, they had at least done something cooler with Ashley 9.
I'm also really disappointed in that hair (at least as far as the product description and promo images go). I like a good bob cut, but it seems borderline useless since it doesnt seem to simulate or come with any morphs at all. What is it with Genesis 9 and hair products that only work as long as you do not move or morph your character?
Otherwise, as usual, the clothing in both bundles looks mostly awful, and, as usual, the props by Censored look absolutely amazing.
I dunno, it's a mixed bag, but it's overall still much more appealing than the other stuff DAZ has produced lately.
Hmmmm? the bob cut does simulate, I even showed it in the promo https://www.daz3d.com/sylvia-9-hd-character-bundle here xD
Whoa, my bad, I did not see that. Thanks for the info that makes that hair much more useful. You're too late though - I had already bought the Bundle anyway ;)
Still, and I hope this doesnt sound snide, but it would be really helpful, if information like this was on the product page or at least visible in the promo shots of the product itself and not a related but ultimately different item. What is even more confusing is that usually hair with that functionality has the 'dForce' in the title, which is true for other 'Hair Studio' products (specifically "dForce HS Ursula Ponytail").
I really really wished DAZ would spend some more energy into providing relevant information on the store pages and streamlining the way the pages and products are set up. It is very often very confusing. Obviously, all PA's have their own process and preferances and that's totally fine. DAZ should be the ones to get those differences in order before putting the items in the store.
Lashes Utilities for Genesis 2, 3 and 8 [Commercial]I know that this is thread for the older product but I could not find a thread for "Lashes Utilities Merchant Resource for Genesis 9" which I just bought today.
It works great for scene characters, BUT.....................
Has anyone gotten the G9 version to work as a merchant resource?
I have followed the directions as best as I could but could not get it to work. The directions aren`t as specific as to make it easy for me to follow. I mean I`ve used Chevybabe25`s Lash Master to create lashes following her detailed merchant resource instruction and got it in the first shot. I even did her Beautiful Brows with no problem. Her very detailed step by steps and images are exactly what I needed.
These are the instructions and what I did to follow them.
1) After shaping lashes as desired, export them as OBJ as base resolution. - Export what? Both the Lashes Utility Genesis 9 root and Lashes Utility Genesis 9 or just Lashes Utility Genesis 9? The no merchant resource instructions say not to mess with Lashes Utilities Genesis 9 Root. (I`ve tried both ways)
2) Import back the OBJ and use the transfer to rig it to Lashes Utility Genesis 9 Root (not directly to Genesis 9) - I clicked on import, then in the Source window I selected Lashes Utility Genesis 9 Root. And in the Target window I selected the renamed Lashes Utility Genesis 9 OBJ file that I imported. I clecked accept.
3) Convert to SubD.- OK now there are more files.... Lashes Utilities Genesis 9 parented under Lashes Utilities Genesis 9 Root, Lashes Utilities Genesis 9 Obj, and Lashes Utilities Genesis 9 not parented to anything. Which to I convert to SubD? (I tried multiple combinations).
4) Change the material. OK? I guess on the thing I just converted to SubD right? LOL
5) Save both your customized lashes and the root to your product folder as Figure/Prop Assets. - I did that in multiple combinations.
6. Make sure to delete morph dials of Lashes Utilities Genesis 9 Root from your final product - Did not get this far as the prop did not fit.
7) With the pieces properly conformed, select Genesis 9 and save as a Wearable Preset. - Did not comform properly.
Have I missed anything or did something wrong?
As stated, I tried multiple combinations multiple times.
Any help would be appreciated :)
Thank you

Without multi-resoltuion morph support plugin for MLP (exclusive for PA...), any way of making HD morphs with dhdm files is again TOS of Daz3D ~~
Well, that makes the sort of sense that isn't. Some clarification might just be useful. Since I don't fathom what a multi-resolution morph support plugin for MLP is (spelling corrected). Nor do I have any knowledge of what a dhdm file might be. 1: Multi-Resolution morph support plugin 2: MLP 3: dhdm file... Please interpret 1, 2, and 3 so that I can at least understand what is exclusive for PAs or against Daz TOS. Thanks. All I know for certain is that there are many items sold on this platform as well as alternatives (gasp!) that contain pressure morphs. It beggars the imagination that all of the sellers on other platforms are PAs here using alternative names, given that the style of the items is quite divergent from what might be found here. Though I can accept the possibility that I could be wrong, I don't claim to be an expert in the field. I can simply recognize stylistic commonalities.
Okay ~
0: With Multi-Resolution Morph Support plugin (exclusive to PAs, "HD plugin"), one can import morphs with SubD, aka HD morphs by using Morph Loader Pro (MLP). As users, we only can import morphs with Base Resolution.
1: After saving Morph Asset of imported HD morph, a *.dhdm file (Daz HD Morph file) is generated and saved in the data folder where the Morph Asset file (*.dsf) locates.
2: There're two types of "pressure morphs", HD and non-HD. If you can find a dhdm file in the data folder of the pressure morph dsf file, it's the former otherwise it's the latter. My PA friends told me they signed NDA with Daz3D for using HD plugin and they can only sell products with HD morphs in this store rather than other 3rd-party stores. If you see there're dhdm files in some products from those sites, the vendors might've use DS 4.6 + HD plugin... because someone ever leaked HD plugin years ago... but only for DS 4.6 version...
Then some guy developed plugins for Blender / ZBrush by using techs. of reverse engineering. The plugins can import HD morphs and generate dhdm files. Using the plugins is against TOS in here, AFAIK.
It is against the Daz Studio license.

[Released] RSSY Character And Material Conversion Bundle Genesis 8 to Genesis 9 [Commercial]Hi there,
I am REALLY struggling with this addon. The material suit works perfectly, but every time I try to export my Genesis 8 morphs, it completely zeroes them and exports the Genesis 8 default to Genesis 9. I have tried every setting and troubleshooting under the sun, even making my own morph and exporting to parametrers, nothing has worked. Zero and Restore make no difference either. Could you please help me figure this out? I desperately need this plugin to work for a short film and I'm completley lost.
Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

The best thing to do is create a combined body morph for that custom designed character. That way only one morph is converted and errors don't compound.

Question about converting ancient posesIf I may chip in as someone who has written pose transfer scripts, I'd like to comment. Now, obviously my comments will be highly coloured by the way I wrote my scripts, and as I haven't figured out a way to do a batch conversion, my comments possibly don't apply to the commercially available scripts.
I have done a V3 to G8F pose transfer script, and in that script I know the transfer is pretty good in one step all the way from V3 to G8F. In this script I applied half the abdomen bend/side-side/twist to each of G8F's abdomen bones, same with the chest and neck, and played about with the rButtock/lButtock applying part to G8F's pelvis and part to the thighs to be added to the thigh values.
The V4 to G8F pose transfer script I did actually does slightly worse transfer than the V3 one unless limits are set to off. The reason is because the zero pose for V4 is close to being out of limits for G8F in terms of hand shape and finger positions even before any pose is added on top, so it's common for V4 poses to be out of G8F limits. If I had not tried to simulate the cupped palm of V4 with the G8F carpals then the pose would have looked less similar, but also be less likely to go out of limits.
Expressions - I must admit I didn't even try to convert expression poses because there is no facial rigging on V3/4 and would have to be taking the expression morph dial values and trying to convert that into appropriate G8F facial rigging settings. Also, with my (then) limited scripting knowledge, had the expressions not been injected into the base character before transfer, the script could have crashed DS. Hope I know enough to avoid that now.
I would strongly recommend that you don't have G2 as an intermediate step in a transfer. There seems to be odd linkages between foot and shin in G2, such that when doing a transfer between G2 and G8F the script has to reduce the shin angle, as if 88 degrees of G2's shin is 90 degrees inG8 and then reduce the foot bend by 2 degrees at the same time.
There are errors, differences and compromises in every conversion. Doing the pose transfer in 2 steps allows for 2 sets of errors to creep in in the transfer, if done in one step the result should be closer to the original. It's starting to look as if transfers to G9 are needed from every generation.
Regards,
Richard

Children Characters for Daz StudioCES3D said:
As crosswind mentioned, items parented to a character generally follow the character's scale, but some adjustments may be necessary.
Here's an example:
In this example, three props are parented to Victoria 8.
The robot helmet and star-shaped sunglasses are parented to Victoria 8's Head bone, and the gun is parented to the Right Hand bone.
These are just props, not follower nodes. In this case, these props follow the position and size of the bone they are parented to, but they do not follow the character's shape.
The ratio of the hand bone size to the shape size does not change much before and after applying the Growing Up morph, so the gun follows relatively naturally.
Since the size of the shape relative to the Head bone increases after applying the Growing Up morph, the helmet and sunglasses sink into the head.In this case, the size and position of the helmet and sunglasses need to be adjusted individually.
Congrats you're getting really close. Google child proportions. Their heads are a little larger compared to the rest of their bodies. Torso length matters. Limbs should be a little shorter. But get this their tongue is larger (from asking too many whys). Ribs are more horizontal. Also they are not toned. They have much greater flexability in poses. Tweens and Teens often reach adult height during puberty.

The setting need playing with but its easy enough to convert them.
Hi, sorry to ressurrect such an old post, but how did you make the streamers and fw bend like that? I can't for the life of me find a way for them to make that curve.
Thanks!
you can find a Morph in the parameters tab.
It doesn't show on mine @_@
It may be on a bone rather t han the figure node, since it is a Poser item.
