    Male-M3dia, your female model also does have your shapes morphs right??  i means this one:

    https://www.daz3d.com/m3d-jessica-hd-for-genesis-8-female

    would be good if in future we could get a "hero" version for female too for that stuffs lol

    That item only has a genital crease morph. For as much as my female sell, it would have been a waste to create too many morphs beside that, especially since better 3rd party options exist if that's what people want beyond the basic.

    Or just go to renderotica and get a 3rd party option. They usually have more options anyway and look/function better.

    you've seen one anotomical, you've seen 'em all - imo 3rd party is not any better in fact even terrible when you it comes to character textures; but 'otica does offer good morph and pose dials for the defualt element

    maybe you are talking about the males since I don't use them often, but for the females, the 3rd party addons are far superior and I have no issues with textures matching, it's a simple click.

    The 3rd Party male products don't work to well with custom shapes that are scaled. I had looked at making some shapes for some other products but I stopped because the rigging wasn't suitable, and I ran into issues making them work with my shapes. This is why I add these shapes for the DAZ gens to my products in this store.

    I'll agree that none of the third party male products are perfect, but to be fair, the DAZ male product is lacking in a number of ways as well.  Then again, the concept of doing it as an added element rather than an intrinsic part of the figure is the root cause of a lot of the problems in most of the current solutions, both male and female.  Because, lets face it, none of the DAZ figures bend completely naturally, even the G3 and G8 figures. Otherwise, why would so many vendors apparently be making a good living creating endless series of "correction" morph sets?  And all you really have to do is look at the distortions that occur in so many texture sets when you spread either Vickie or Mike's legs into the splits to see that this is one of the areas where DAZ hasn't really complete solved all the the myrid problems involved with that part of the body even before we bring the gens into it.

    That's not meant as a dis on DAZ, by the way, it's just reflective of the fact that the human body is a big sack of mostly water that holds it's shape through a combination of external tension and a number of internal elements of varying degrees of rigidity, so trying to simultaneously simulate the effects of gravity, inertia, temperature AND varying levels of internal rigidity using just morphs on a mesh that's composed of polygons that are absolutely gigantic compared to the subcomponents of a real body isn't practical at the level of computing power the average hobbyist has access to. Which is why it's damn near impossible to do a render of M8 looking as though he just got out of a cold shower.   And the end effect of trying to make the gens shape and pose naturally when they've completely seperate items that are essentially sewn to a geograft pair of shorts only exacerbates the problems, so sometimes "things" are simply not where they should be.

    All that said, I do findthat I use the DAZ male gens more often than the other alternatives I've picked up, but on the female side of the equation I've honestly found both the NewGen and Golden Place products to be noticeably superior to the DAZ product.  On the other hand, while Erogenesis' Lali figure has flaws of it's own, it does ably demonstrate how much better results can be obtained when the gens are an actual part of the main mesh and all the pieces are working together.

    I'm going to say that someone that modifies the daz gens.. and others as well, your comment at least from the males is uniformed. A few months ago I took several of these 3rd party gens and tried to modify them for products I wanted to sell. I didn't get to far with the others. They were simply weren't that good outside the morphs initially available to them. It basically came down to making a morph for EACH body shape I created, rather than just making a gens shape and that proprogated to each of the body shapes. The female gens would be different as the prop would need to be made with the items that you intend to move and morph. Still the "creating a corrective for each shape" may exist which makes customizing to a different shape feasible to do. As far as the cold shower, you definitely can't do any of that with the humungous base shapes of the other items... i'm sure a morph could be made for it... but let's be honest, from the renders that displayed, a flacid morphs is used about as much as a uncircumcised morph.

    Well, he does have 1 G8F figure, which you linked there. Kayleyss' figures also come with one anatomical elements morph, as I recall...

    I'd also point out Zev0's Breast Controls and Hellboy's Breast Utilities. Just linking to G3F and G8F...

    Even if you use meipe's headlights, the HD morphs for the baby feeding areas will morph through to the geografted anatomical headlights.

    Other than that, there's a lot of third party stuff at 'Rotica. A LOT a lot.

    Here's another from that morph pack. It's Edwin, using Anderson materials.

    Jian Hair (Gen3/8M)   (color 9) goes great wth the Anderson eyebrow default, it's a bit rusty in color. There's also a silver color, and the hair is styled so that it looks appropriate for older guys too.

    dForce Coveralls And Tools is the outfit.

  • Review System

    Rendo has a review system, including comments and stars. I don't really read them. I can see how they might help inform a buyer, but I don't personally use them for this hobby.

    Once in a while, I'll look at the reviews in Rendo, but 95% of the time, all I need to see is in the images and the list of morphs. There's usually not enough of a volume of reviews to make the observations worthwhile to me. I don't tend to trust star ratings when there are only a few responses.

    Speaking of Rendo's review system you guys should take a closer look at them. It seems like every review i look at has nothing but praise for the creator and/or the product and that alone makes me suspicious.  Like people dont want to leave a bad or negative review for fear of hurting the creators feelings or upsetting the people who run that site.  But IMO honest feedback is needed so that creators can better themselves and their product.  If someone is constantly releasing products that have messed up files and it always needs work getting it to run properly and all their product reviews have that info in it then people might not want to buy their stuff if they dont want to mess with that. And maybe that will drive the content creator to actually try and improve their content instead of releasing garbage.  But on the flip side of that people who leave reviews may end up abusing the system.  It might be useful at first but ultimately it could just end up like the cesspool that are youtube video comments, steam review bombs and stuff like that.

    yeah, they can be a little touchy when leaving a less than stellar review, I know from experience, LOL I recently purchasd a character because in the promos the skin looked great and I loved the face morph. This vendor also sells just morphs packs for faces and bodies, so I just assumed that the character i purchased would have both face and body morphs, nope. Needless to say the skin didn't live up to the hype either, so I left a review saying I was dissapointed and why. I wasn't rude, but i was firm in whay i was disspointed.The vendor PMed me and chewed me a new one, so needless to say, I will not purchase from them again. Granted i could have dug deeper into the what's included, but seeing their other products and this was just a simple female character it made sense to me that it would have both morphs and to fair, I didn't return it, so they still got the sale.

    I'd like to mention that although those of us who donated did $20 or more amounts, every $5 will add up- so don't let the other amounts deter you if you just don't have it at the end of the month!  There's those pesky "not now!" things that break at the worst possible times too.  We have a  guesstimate $4000 fence coming up (part of the back one just went ka-put and fell over!) but there's a three month wait before the fence company can even come see us to give an estimate. Since that's smack dab in the middle of hurricane season (Sept) we aren't going to do the fence until end of October.  So I have a bit of time to spread out that expense and use a credit card LOL.

    So everyone understands if you have pressing things going on / unexpected bills / unemployment and can only donate a little, or not at all. We don't want anyone to feel pressured to donate that would make it a hardship.

    One thing you can do- if you bought the male morph pack at the other store, leave a review. I'm on my way over there to do that now. I'm going to see about putting the render in my gallery over there too. Edit- here's the gallery link.

    This is from GypsyAngel at another site, it's just a morph set- and I laughingly say JUST because you get FOURTEEN guys of all types. There's even an elder dude! (It's also on sale 50% right now) So this is a fantastic combination with Daz dudes sold here, using their materials. @DarwinsMishap Salvatore (G3/G8M) is an excellent one if you want bushier brows that go with a rugged countenance.

    PS GypsyAngel just did a GoFundMe so we can help her get her computer fixed. Otherwise, she's done as a vendor. It wasn't her idea, several of us encouraged her to do that btw. We're not about to see that talent disappear!

    Which of Male-M3dia's products offers the best value for genital enhancements? The comical prudishness of Daz's website makes it a little hard to know what you really get in that area.

    Well, you may just want to look for numbers of morphs.

    For instance... https://www.daz3d.com/m3d-hd-hero-shapes-for-michael-8
    This lists "3 Anatomical Elements presets".

    https://www.daz3d.com/m3d-dalton-hd-for-genesis-8-male
    This has 2 "Anatomical Elements presets".

    I happen to have both of those packages, and I can tell you that each of those presets has its own look. So there's not a huge worry of overlap.

    It's difficult to tell you what to buy without pictures, but even an untextured picture would not work here, so I'll just leave it at that. There's a variety when you get multiples, and you can mix/match by using partial dials. The more you have, the better, sort of like Pokemon.

    ......

    Actually there's more differences in there as the Hero product mentions veins.. and Dalton is the only set that morphs, ahem, anyway... you should get both sets particularly Dalton (and M3D Jesse for G3M) if you're posting images on 'rotica. I only do that one morph once per generation because it's a PAIN to do.

    Your veiny morphs are definitely very good, but they aren't the only way to skin the cat.

    Have you checked out Eroticalist's Veiny Wet "Rooster" for G8M? That product uses a Geoshell with Diffuse, Bump, and Displacement maps to apply veins to the male anatomical pokey bits. (It's also highly useful for applying textures for people who use Torso UV for those figures that don't come with textures for the gens)

    I don't know if a geoshell approach would be easier (or even if geoshells for the "rooster" would even be a valid product in the Daz store), but I think the results are very good.

    (Not sure if it adds anything to the back door. It's relatively trivial, although the texture maps for the back door are split due to the way the torso map works...)

    In this case it uses maps, which in case of iray takes more memory than the morph, also since the products are shape-based it wouldn't make too much sense to create a set of maps for that purpose only. Besides a morphs actual closing and opening and as veins and the other rmorph are hd based, they don't have volume to they should cause little poke thorugh.

    Do you have show hidden properties checked?

    Thanks carrie58 ! That did the trick. At least for 2 out of 3 hair files I have tested.

    It seems like not all morphs are transferred. I also think they shouldn't be in the "hidden" section at all.. My old eyes hate reading grey on grey.

    The authorship information is alright.

    It's a pity as I am a big fan of the RSSY converters and I was really waiting for this one... sigh...

    The script is telling the Transfer Utility to transfer ALL morphs so I am unsure what I can do about this one.

    Don't know if it is related but I was using M4 Midnight Hunter the other night and I found I had to turn off limits and really yank up the numbers before seeing any movement in the back flap of the trench coat - or any of the transfered morphs. Maybe the morphs need to be x10 or x100 strength to see the movement that the original has? And maybe the morphs are there but only appear to be not working. (Don't like the Grey on Grey either but nothig you can do about that)

    I don't know. sad @zzspriest, which item are you not seeing the morphs?

    It is the Christine Hair, a DAZ Original.

    Darn, I don't have that one.  I have wishlisted it to get it when it is on sale and test it.

    Ok I'll be waiting patiently. Thanks so far and all thumbs up for your fantastic work... :-)

  • third party content not showing up after transfer to external drive

    I recently transferred my Daz library from my PC to an external hard drive, because I was running low on space on my PC. I haven't noticed any problems with content I downloaded from daz3d.com, but all my 3rd  party stuff hasn't shown up in my content library. I've checked the files on the drive and the third party content is all there, but for some reason, it won't show up in Daz directly. Does anybody know what's going on or how to solve this issue?

    Thanks!

    No idea why GenX gave you an error message as it should support V4 as a source figure (it can’t convert morphs to V4 though).

    GenX doesn’t support G8 though (the creator passed away before G8 release) so you would need to do it in multiple steps.

    Here’s a tutorial about morph conversion between Genesis figures: https://www.deviantart.com/sickleyield/journal/Tutorial-Transferring-Character-Morphs-G1G2G3G8-409437916

    You might be able to adapt it for V4 since you created a clone for her. You may need to convert her to weight mapped figure first.

    I made progress. I can now use the morph with Gen1, but it seems my issue now is, that I can't transfer the victoria 4 clone morph ALONGSIDE the GND morph from Gen1 to 8.

    I followed your linked tutorial, but it looks as if that also doesn't deal with clones and that clones are handled differently than normal morphs, so I can transfer the GND morph (that I transfered from Victoria 4 first), but of course it looks fucked up, cause Gen8 does not have the Victoria 4 form.

    I used the clone of V4 I made earlier and it still looks like in the attached picture. No idea what else I'm missing. It's been like 5 hours now.

    I've released some free morph packs on ShareCG and gumroad (link in signature) that would get you a fair bit of the way. They are called FaceShifter and are designed to originally work with Faceshift, which is the precursor to the tracking tech in the iPhone. There aren't as many morphs as used in ARKit, but they will get you most of the way

  • Looking for a little clarity on the license's within Daz Studio
    I think a simplified answer would be is you can sell, distribute, anything, with JPG files. You have all Rights to JPGs.

    Thanks.  That does simplify it a great deal.

    I would say that simplifies it too much, as the original texture files may be JPGs, and you CANNOT distribute the original texture files.

    To simplify Daz's standard licence as best as I can (with the caveat that I am not a legal professional):
    - You may store, use, modify and transfer the original product files in basically any way, as long as only you have access to them.
    - You may sell, distribute and use any images or videos you render in Daz Studio (or any other program you choose to render in) for any purpose, including using those pre-rendered images for interactive gameplay experiences.

    (It should go without saying that this obviously assumes that you're not in breach of some other law, such as rendering indecent images of children).

    The interactive licence, while somewhat confusingly named, only applies when a third party will be rendering the resources on their own system (and will thus need access to some form of the original product files).

    ~~~~~
    I will add that I believe there are a small minority of products which have more stringent requirements, although I don't have an exhaustive list. (I believe Reby Sky, based on a real individual under licence, may be one example).
    Also have no clue why I can't use V4 as a source figure. I bought GenX just for this, installed it through the install manager and get that error.
    EDIT: I have no clue why, but after a third re-install it now let's me add V4!
  • Created custom closing - trouble using it with poses or dforce
    For skirts you will usually have to use some exra steps. One thing to check in the transfer utility is the projection template/garment type (I can't recall the label) - I think there is an option for dress, which will give a better starting point for the skirt than projecting the legs. However, you are likely to need to do some editing with the Node Weight Map brush tool - for example softening the maps for the legs to spread the bending out a bit more.
    The dForce explosion probably indicates that the dress is intersecting itself or the figure in the starting position.
