Just so it's been said, I'm about as much of a beginner on this sort of thing as a person can get, but i hoped to reach out for some help.

I just re-installed Daz Central, and several assets that I purchased last year were obviously not installed.

I attempted to install them through the Daz Central interface, and *none* of them would install from there ... the install process would reach 93%, and then just stop, with no errors, warnings, or any other messages.

I then attempted to download the assets through the DAZ Install Manager, and most downloaded fine, but there are a handful of them that continuously state "Install Failed!", again, with no explanation or specifics regarding the failure.

 

The assets failing to install are:

 

• Genesis 2 Male Starter Essentials
• Genesis 2 Starter Essentials Female
• Genesis 2 Starter Essentials Male
• Genesis 3 Starter Essentials Female
• Genesis Starter Essentials
• Photoshop 3D Bridge for DAZ Studio 4.15+ (Win 64-Bit)

Now, the last asset, Photoshop. It does try to successfully download that one, but asks me to specify an install path, and i have no idea if i'm supposed to place it somewhere specific, so DAZ can utilize it, or if i can just put it wherever. The rest though, simply state "Install Failed!" with absolutely zero specifics. 

Anyone have any idea how i might clear these issues up?

Daz Central doesn't have a screen that shows you your current download activity or queue. It doesn't have filters to show which assets you have installed. Use Install Manager instead - there are links on each Product Library page.

When Central installs "Daz Studio" it's installing all the support packages too - the various * Essentials and so on - so it may be one of those that is the problem. The log file should tell you. Install manager is still available, and still allows installing (and so tracking) the parts individually.

btw, I have tried the START CMS button, Tried to use DAZ uninstall to reinstall the program. Norton says the uninstall program is doing some dubious things so I stopped and just deleted the folder. Reinstalled using Central.  No help   Invalid CMS

I can't establish a valid cms connection AGAIN

This time I think it may be because I changed my password using the website. I can access my account on the website. I can bring up DAZ Central and all my content is shown but if I try to use it, Central "cannot find the product".    Once I get this straight, is there a way to show content in central in an organized manner?  I find it totally useless unless I am accessing a recent purchase

Haven't used Daz for over a year. I just started using Daz Central about 3 days ago. It's buggy. Couldn't even install Daz Studio. Installs just stops and goes back to the install button.

Stop using DAZ Central and/or Connect to install the program and models. Do not login to DAZ within DAZ Studio, work offline.

Moved to Technical Help, since it seems to be a Daz Central rather than Daz Studio question.

I'm not sure Daz Central is the ideal choice if you want to customise your content - Install Manager allows much more flexibility. Is Daz Central trying to install Daz Studio and the base content, or it it itself it's trying to install/update?

I use DAZ on multiple computers. (All mine. All in same house. Same IP). This allows me to be rendering while I create a new scene.  I got tired of downloading new purchases manually, copying to zip drives and installing on each computer. Daz Central is up and running on my main computer. When I attempt to install it on other computers, it goes thru the entire installation process. When I try to open it,the splash screen says "install selected" which begins the installation process again. ????   

How did you install? Central/Install Manager should show updates (for downloaded and for downlaoded and installed content) when you log in, Daz Connect will show updates with a U arrow symbol at top-right of the product thumbnail, if you downloaded and installed manuallyyou will just have to redownload and compare the two,.

So PostgreSQL is installed, presumably - it should have an entry in Install Manager/Daz Central. Do you see entries such as the attached image in Task manager (right-click on Task Bar to launch it, click More Details at bottom-left of the window if it shows only the applications listed in the Task Bar)?

Similar issues with installing assets. Try installing multiple assets at the same time, most of the install process just stops and goes back to install button. Luckily clicking on install button again usually continues where it left off and was able to complete it.

Looks like the install process often time out after a period of time. So it prevents me from installing a bunch of assets overnight.

I think I know what you mean in DC but I forget exactly what happened when trying option that you locate via the top right corner. However, I do remember I was unable to do the same settings in DC, that I usually do in DIM. 

As for DIM, I never had a problem with it either until after the 4.15 update came out, as I said in original posts, been having issues for a while with installing assets after initial first library setup. But after 4.15 update came out, I was unable to even install my library via DIM at all. Also, DIM wouldn't even install Daz Studio correctly, so there something buggy with DIM and Daz Studio 4.15 on my end.

I got library reinstalled today finally but I manually installed it, which is how I install from now on. 

 

Daz Central should allow you to set a base path, but how is Install Manager being buggy targetting another drive? I've never had an issue installing content to a secondary drive (which is what I've done since the beginning), though applications do go to C:.

Still trying to sort this out but does look like I got 2 solutions here, not sure what happened but DIM is now buggy with installing to any drive not named C. Considering Daz Central doesn't have a way I can see to change where your library is and therefore you stuck with putting it on your C drive. Starting to think Daz themselves want you to install Daz on C drive only now but not sure, maybe I'm missing something but, either way, DIM + D drive = does not work.

Solution 1: I upgrade C drive from a 240GB to 960GB, that be more enough for my library to go on C drive, tested and got down to about 5GB space left before I confirmed 240GB wasn't big enough. That cost me about another £70.

Solution 2: Install Default Install Sets to the C drive with DIM, then download everything else in the library and manually extract to a temp folder, then move everything within "content folder" to a second Daz library on my D drive, which I then add as a new base directory in Daz Studio itself. On testing, I can access the second library via content library and load into the scene that way, It's a real pain but better than nothing. Still early in testing this, so I'm sure there be some unforeseen things that cause some issues but it's my best solution for now (I think).

 

P.S I really hope Daz Studio sorts DIM installing to D drive, that would be the ultimate solution, and soon as I sort out Library in just one location, I'm backing that up on an external drive.

Can anyone make the toolbelt and bracers for the central female character please for Genesis 8?

And if anyone fancied making the robot or octopus lady or could point me towards appropriate similar products I could purchase that would be great.
