A RECENT David Tennant likeness morph????
That "Timothy" set looks far more like Christopher Eccleston (Doctor number 9, or 10 if one factors in the "War Doctor") than Tennant, at least to me.
And though ModernWizard stressed a morph for a "recent" mesh, I still believe what JoeQuick created for Michael 3 is one of the closest Tennant likenesses I've seen. (But I won't link it unless anyone is genuinely interested.)
Sincerely,
Bill
Bouncing Ball Ideas?Until those dforce issues get sorted out - if you're not adverse to using other programs - you can do the simulation in blender or other 3d programs and bring it back into DS . You will have more control over the type of ball and bouncing (e.g. a basketball will bounce differently than, say a beach ball), more control over physics parameters like gravity, friction etc..
You would export out an obj sequence and use either the animMorph script or mcasual's "mcjAnimObjsToMorphs" to import and setup as animated morph sequence in DS . (Because the bouncing ball has the same number of vertices it will work; but something like a particle/fluid simulation typically won't import using this method because of changing vertex count)
How to get this morph pack to work in Daz?Finding a "Libaries" folder told me this was probably going to be a smelly job, bad pathways in the PZ3s and a couple of CR2s confirmed this one was past the U-bend and already into the sewers.
The Poser import plugin in DS is fussy, too many errors and it stops reading the file and dumps what it already has in your scene, it's also always been a bit suspect when it comes to loading Poser Scene files (PZ3), add a PMD into the mix and you can get a right mess.
Now I could show you how to dismantle a PZ3 and turn part of it into a CR2 that will load in DS, but that will give me sore fingers and probably excede the post limit, instead I'll show you a quick (and sneaky) way to get piggy here (points at piccy) into DS.
First off load the Gamorrean Guard.pz3 into DS, first two missing files are for the ground.obz, skip both of them as they aren't important. Next up is the Gamorrean Suspenders.obj, click "locate" with this one, navigate to Geometries\Star Wars\Gamorrean Guard and you'll find that file in there. Next one is the Gamorrean Sandals.pmd, again click "locate" with this one, and navigate to Libraries\Character\Star Wars\Gamorrean Guard to find that file.
That should be the last missing file, so sit back and wait on DS to finish loading, might take several minutes as you will notice a lot of warnings about missing deltas.
Once loaded piggy won't look anything like the other pics, that's because none of the morph deltas have loaded, but every single morph channel has been, along with all of their dial settings.
Make sure M4 is selected, he'll be called blMilMan_m4b in your scene tab, head into the Content Library tab, select a DS native directory and find some place in there you can save a preset.
Once you have someplace check the Content Library tab bottom left, you will see a + and a -, click on the +, deprecated, character preset and give it a name.
You can clear the scene now and load in M4, inject his ++ and creature creator morphs, now for the fun, Morph Loader Pro, easy to use for some, scary black magic for others.
Top of the window is Convert to DAZ Studio, make sure the button under it says Poser. Next Load Morphs for, make sure that button says All Groups/Bone Matches in Figure.
Just below that one you will see Choose Morph Files, click on that one, now navigate to Runtime\Geometries\Star Wars\Gamorrean Guard\Morphs, in here ther are nine OBJ all morphs, we only want four of them. The are Gamorrean Guard_Headmorph, Gamorrean Neck_morph, Lower Jaw_morph and Upper Jaw_morph.
Now easiest way to do this is to hold down Ctrl on your keyboard and left click on each of the four OBJ we want, this will select all four, click Open once you have them selected, all four should now show in MPL, we aren't doing anything else to them so just click Accept and let MLP do it's thing.
Remember that Character preset I got you to make, go ahead and apply it to M4, now you got one UGLy piggy, I'd save him as a scene subset as getting those morphs out in a form that can be used in DS and Poser again is a bit of a mission.
The rest of his gear might cause some issues but the only PMDs left are being called by CR2, which DS can use without issue.
[Released] Character Converter from Genesis 3 Female to Genesis 8 Female(Now Conv JCMs) [Commercial]What is the average time that people are experiencing for the scene transfer script? Since most of the characters I want to convert aren't "actors," I have to use the scene transfer script, and just some head morphs are taking at least an hour. Tried on two different computers, and both take forever to transfer the morphs.
It took just over 1.5 hours for me to convert 30 characters.
Wow, you cranked through them! I want your computer!

Is Genesis 8 really that good?@khyron555 "to my sense of asthetics, they all have this weird duck face at default."
You almost certainly have an additional morph loading that either saved over the default Genesis 8 or had an error with the specific file for that morph.
Load the base Genesis 8 Female, then look through the loaded morph list. Click the Figure, then Parameters>Actor>Head. Look for anything at 100% that isn't Genesis 8 base.
I never considered that, thanks a lot! I'll give it a try tonight; very interested to see if that is indeed the case.
Export a customized head and read it back in as a single morph? The quickest way to do it if you have Zbrush.
1 apply all necessary morphs
2 export to zbrush with GoZ (don't forget to uncheck current resolution)
3 zero applied morphs
4 import model back and use create morph option.
same can be done by exporting to OBJ
The figure can be in any pose with any other extra morphs on, all wahst patters is the difference between export import
[Released] Character Converter from Genesis 3 Female to Genesis 8 Female(Now Conv JCMs) [Commercial]Brenna genesis 3 to Brenna genesis 8 was quite successful, as you can see. (original right, genesis 8 left. You can really only tell from the funky eyes on genesis 8, as I didn't update those, and a slightly open mouth on the gen 3). Perfect, and looking forward to bringing over my g3 ladies.
OTOH, my Frankenstein's bride was... less so. Everything seemed to work fine (nothing interesting in the log), even if the conversion took 4 times longer than with Brenna. The body result is just as off ("original", ie. character using both a single dial gen x created morph and a bunch of genesis 3 dials to be as close to the original as possible on left, conversion on right).
I am not sure I understand your text on the Frankenstein's bride one (beyond that it didn't work obviously). Is the body result good? If you load it in your character, which morphs are non-zero? After deleting your first conversion attempt and morphs, how about trying the other script? It won't copy the texture or make the character preset, but I wonder about the morphs.
Sorry about the confusion here:
1) Bride of Frankenstein was an attempted humorous reference to a character of sketchy origin, ie. v4+genX+dials for face, g3f character and dials for body due to a disappointing genx transfer. I should have realized there is a "Frankenstein's Bride" (or probably several) in the store.
2) Body result was, well, about as far from the original as can be
3)... and I see now, why, as it looks like no morphs whatsoever were, in fact, ported. Eyelashes is the only "currently used" parameter or morph for the ported character.
4) The other script is, indeed, a lot better. Results below. In genesis 8, on the right, the nose is a bit broader, the upper lip larger and the jawline different, but it's certainly a lot closer to the original than the g3f was before I spent 4 hours playing with dials. Still not the same fidelity as with Brenna above, though.
LOL. Yes, Daz is one of the few places where if you say "Bride of Frankenstein" I immediately go looking for the product you bought! (which I did, but it didn't look like your "bride")

4) I am glad it is better. Were any of the morphs HD? The script cannot transfer HD morphs as HD so that can account for differences.
I don't think I have any HD morphs used, none labeled as such, anyway. The base is still DMR Ella, a Victoria 4 character (and AFAIK a rather popular one) from the Daz store that I used GenX to port to Genesis 3 with rather limited success. As far as I know I just used the standard g3f head morphs package to fine tune the result to get closer to the original in G3F. In fact, (and that's something I still have to troubleshoot), I didn't even use the GenX Victoria 4 shape at all, as the result wasn't significantly closer and I preferred to use the minimum amount GenX considering the unfortunate situation with it.
The discrepancies are probably related to the GenX transfer, as lips/nose/jawline were the parts where I had to do most manual tweaking. Probably just shows the necessity for a V4 to Gen 8 tool, but I'll look into this further. It's coincidental I'm doing her among my first characters, as I just decided last weekend I want to be able to use that character in G3F and your product came out while I was doing test renders etc for her. That's also why I haven't managed to zero in where the issues are coming.
Ah! Ok, well keep me updated. Since I was never a GenX user, I didn't have any of these copy of copy characters to test.

[Released] Character Converter from Genesis 3 Female to Genesis 8 Female(Now Conv JCMs) [Commercial]So, I really was surprised to see this one. Ever since the tragic passing of Dimension3D the morph convertor-happy users like myself have been pretty much left on our own. Sure, there have been different techniques provided to us in tutorial threads us both on and off the forums, and even one of us have dedicated their time and effort to try and make a sufficient enough script to fill-in that gap, shout-out to SingularBlues. But this is the first time since the discontinuation of GenX that we're finally getting a solid, in-store PA product addressing this.
Thank you SO much for this, RiverSoftArt! :DYou are very welcome! I knew from spelunking through the forums that there were user efforts (though I never tried them, way too busy). After 2 years though, it didn't seem like there were any official products, and Sickleyield convinced me to try and make one. I had no idea if there would be a market for this. I was afraid the the "morph converter-happy" users would have already done all they needed to with home-grown techniques.

Wow, that sounds long, but I have only worked on one figure and, like your situation, it was converted using the Scene Transfer. I just finished my first character which had a V4 GenX figure dialed in and nothing else and it took just a few seconds. I did not include morphs such as Body Size, Body Tone, Fitness, Fitness Size, Fitness Details, etc since G8 already has those anyway. I haven't tried any figures beyond that since I have basically been drooling with delight it worked with GenX ( I was honestly expecting issues). I hope other characters don't take an hour.
I am glad it is working for you! If you do have problems, please let me know.

I just did one and I gave up waiting and took a nap...so about 2hrs I'd guess. And my machine is no slouch (dForce, etc is nice and quick).
Can you post a log?

Huh. I would not expect the convert custom scene character to be that slow, though the time will go up as you convert more and more characters. Can you post a log? EDIT: Did you try and click on the dialog while it was "stuck"? At one point, I remember DS had brought up a dialog but not really shown it so it seemed like DS was stopped.
How did you save your characters? Have you tried with the main script unchecking the "Check Content Type" option and Force Converting?
Flowscape And Daz Studio - So Many Backdrops!very nice composition 6R
I made it easy on myself importing RedHouse cottage to Zbrush and running UV master then using UltimateUnwrap3D repaint to transfer the texture over to the single mapped mesh
DAZ studio texture atlas acts far too unpredictably or that would be the obvious solution for simplifying texture import, I also made it a single mesh
Saphirewild's Randomness RendersI liker her face on that last one... did you change her face morph or is it just the expression?
Is Genesis 8 really that good?G8's expressions made it impossible for me not to adopt, and the expressions actually look better in practice than most of the promos of expressions. I did screenshots of my favourite actors expressions, copied them on G8, and I got exactly the looks I intended. That couldn't happen on G3 or earlier. Moreover, G3 does not have morph packs by EmmaAndJordi, Rarestone, HerYun, & 3DGHDesign. I often ran out of adequate morph targets when attempting to approximate faces on G3. This rarely happens on G8 (except the males) because there's a morph for almost every nuance of the face (E&J caught just about everything that was missing).
And now that Daz has filled out the 8 Core males with a couple of versions of the main types (presuming an Idris lookalike is on the backburner), I have enough high-quality skins for main and supporting characters without having to resort to Genesis 2 or earlier.
