[Released] Content Wizard [Commercial]
I noticed that about the dual file.
anyway, I shut everything down, cleared the log, then opened DS up.
I opened CW
I repopulated it with the proper files (no dup)
I repopulated the image icon and the names, et. al.
I Unzipped the folders
I then clicked Analyze
Got the same thing.
So, here is the Daz log

And to make matters stranger, I just tried it using a Renderosity product, and after figuring out that I had to unzip the original file into 2 zips, it worked fine.
The Hivewire files don't have hidden zips, so I don't know what the issue is. and why it didn't work.I don't think you posted the entire Daz log (not the log in the dialog). I would expect to see more messages. Can you check again? And make sure you run CW twice. Daz Studio has a tendency to not show the last 3 or 4 log messages until something else gets written to the log.
The one thing I see strange is that there are 2 zip #4s.

I am wondering if maybe the collision between two exact zips would cause a problem? It shouldn't, but I will need to think about it.
Genesis 8.1 / Victoria 8.1I had the hardest time updating to G8.1 because the essentials pack for G8 is mislabled in Connect. Not sure about DIM or Daz Central. I didn't look. In Daz Connect, it's now labeled Genesis 8 Male Powerpose Templates, only it's not. That file contains all the essential stuff for both G8 Male and Female. Something I did with G8.1 also crashed DS. So far, I'm not really impressed. That might change if I actually get to render her.
“DAZStudio” would like to access files on a removable volume. For some reason I am constantly getting "“DAZStudio” would like to access files on a removable volume." This started happening since I ran the installer in Daz Central for Daz 4.15.
I went back to working with the previous version, since 4.15 was also repeatedly crashing and getting the access message all the time made working next to impossble. Unfortunately 4.12 now gives me the same issue. I am sure it's an easy fix, I just don't know how.

Need a clean uninstall: HELP!!!As dumb as it sounds, you need to install Daz Central to uninstall Daz Studio
DazCentral keeps locking up.Just unboxed my brand new MacPro, updated the OS, then renewed my PC Membership. The DIM files and Dim from my old Mac Mini no longer work. I download Daz Central, which locks up in the middle of downloading and installing Daz Studio. After I get DazStudio installed, it hangs and eventually crashes when I try to bring down my content.

"Install Failed!"
Me, too.
Been a few years since I felt like doing the 3D thing, so I was wanting to upgrade from DS4.9Pro to the DS4.15 with the all the dForce and Gen8 stuff After several attempts with DIM, I got DS4.15 to install but ALL other content gives me the "Install Failed" error. I tried the Daz Central thingamabob and my installs get to 50% and then the process ends (fails to write anything to disk) with no message.
I CAN go from product to product and manually download the .ZIP files... but wow, that's a lot of work for the amount of new product that comes with the bundle.
So I have 2 networked computers and an external HD. DS is installed on each computer and the entire DAZ3D root folder is copied to my external HD.I synch the DAZ3D folder on each computer and the HD out of paranoia ( as I lost a TON of saved scenes when I had a hard drive die on me a long time ago.) All my directories are currently set to read from the external HD.
So yeah, ALSO seeking help for this.
DAZ CentralI re-installed DAZ Central with a newly downloaded version. Works fine now.
DAZ CentralDoes anyone know why DAZ Central keeps asking me to update the program every time I open it? I click on 'update" and it updates fine and runs properly. If I then quit the program and restart it, It asks me to update all over again. Every time I start the program this happens. I'm on a Mac running OS 10.14.6.

Because of your explaining about the differences in the way Daz Central, Daz Connect and DIM work with installing things my TAO which was not working at all now works by uninstalling all of UltraScenery and all of it's addons then reinstalling all of it with DIM everything now works with TAO also. Thank you very much for your help with everyone who has any question or problem using these products in Daz studio. I knew, I had a problem but had no idea of where to start to fix it. Again thank you.
That is great to hear! Thanks for letting me know. You are now at least the second person that has TAO working by using DIM instead of Daz Connect, so I think that will work for other people, too.

Wardrobe doesn't the CharactureI had been out of action for about 6 months,Just before Daz, added Daz Central and before Daz Studio 4.15.
there has been many changes during this time. Example If I load a Gen8 Male, when I try to load the wardrobe to Gen 8 male. I get a dropdown message to choose Gen 3male or Gen3 female. When I only have those choices and try to load it to a Gen 3 because that is the closest to the charature the shirt arms pop up, on a female the legs of the cloths spread. Something has change. what did I miss during this change

3. DS itself uses relative paths - just the location within the content directory - for saved scenes and presets, as long as the files were loaded from a content directory. If you installed your content through Install Manager/Daz Central then the installation data will have the absolute location. In DIM, if you still have the zips, you can chaneg the path to the new location, then select everything in the Installed tab, right-click, and choose the option to reinstall all selected using the current path. Otherwise you could back up the Manifests folder and then use a text editor to batch edit the .dsx files to change the paths.I think that is where I am going to run into issues. My library is a mix of content bought from the DAZ store, some from 3rd party stores, and assets from various sources that didn't necessarily conform to the structure DIM was expecting, so I had to installl them by copying the content over to my library. Now I do still have most of those zip files, but it would be almost impossible to figure out which of these are compatible with DIM and to reinstall the rest manually. But I'm still not 100% sure I understood the issue correctly, so maybe you could elaborate on this a bit further: If I understand correctly, any asset installed via DIM is recorded in the manifest with a record of the full path where the asset was installed, correct? Does this affect anything inside DAZ Studio, as in the database/CMS? If these packages are already in my library before I copy it over, will DAZ Studio not index them properly once I have pointed it to a new location for the library? I don't really use the smart content tab anyway and mostly use the content library tab, since many of my assets aren't compatible with smart content. Once I point DIM to the new library folder, shouldn't it download all assets I have bought from the DAZ store be re-downloaded into the new location, overwriting existing (identical) assets?
My apologies for the many questions, I'm just not really familiar with the CMS/DIM side of things yet and haven't really been able to find any resources that explain their relationship.
The manifest is sued only by DIM/Daz Central, so you need to worry only for content installed through those. Anything you have installed manually can be moved to a different content directory with impunity

Migrating DAZ Studio to new hard driveFirst, for figures a lot of the load time is not down to disc access but rather to hooking up all the relationships between the morphs - so the SSD may not make that much difference there.
1. You can just move the content folders across and point DS to them, but you can move the database too if you like.
2. Moving DS would somewhat speed start up (but again, not everything as many internal operations are performed in which disc access is not an issue)
3. DS itself uses relative paths - just the location within the content directory - for saved scenes and presets, as long as the files were loaded from a content directory. For some reason USC is not seeing the trees within TAO. I checked file location and the USC is in the same folder location as TAO - D:\Users\David\appdata\Roaming\DAZ 3D\cms\ContentCluster\data\data\cloud\1_35529 (this is TAO location
USC - D:\Users\David\appdata\Roaming\DAZ 3D\cms\ContentCluster\data\data\cloud\1_67835
It appears all the files are intact and in the correct place. I compared file structure to PINES, which works, and they are the same structure.
@daveso This looks like a strange folder structure to me. data\cloud\1_67835 is a Daz Connect folder. You must have double clicked on products inside Daz Studio and caused them to install with Daz Connect. That is the only way those "cloud\1_SKU# folders get created. I'm also wondering why your Daz Connect content folder is inside the cms\ContentCluster. I don't know if that is the default location or not.
If you accidently installed these products with Daz Connect and you also installed them with DIM, the Daz Connect version will always be used. So, to fix this I recommend that you right click on the TAO (and USC) products in Daz Studio and select Uninstall. Then go to DIM and install (or reinstall) them. AnEye4Art had TAO problems similar to yours, and this process fixed it for AnEye4Art.
An aside: There are several ways to install Daz content and some of the names are similar and possibly confusing:
- Daz Install Manager (DIM) is a separate application that downloads and installs Daz content. The content files are installed into the Content Library that is specified in the DIM settings. This is the installation method that has been most reliable and trouble free for me.
- Daz Connect is the name for installtion done inside Daz Studio, from the Install pane or the Smart Content pane. If you are logged in to your Daz account from inside Daz Studio, double clicking on an uninstalled product will install it. Daz Connect creates folders and files in a "cloud" folder on your hard drive. Some products don't work if they are installed with Daz Connect. Some product don't work with content that is installed with Daz Connect. File downloads are sometimes corrupted and don't work at all. This installation method has been very problematic for me and I have given up on it.
- Daz Central is the latest installation method that Daz has created. After hearing about nighmarish experiences of early adopters, I have avoided even trying it. I stick with DIM.
- Manual Download is done through your Product Library on the Daz website. You can download a zip file, uncompress it and move the files yourself. I have almost never needed to do this.
i uninstalled them from DS, but they were still both listed in DIM as installed. So I uninstalled them via DIM, and then installed. They were put into the same directories as before. In DIM, the Content Database Base is : C:/Users/david/AppData/Roaming/DAZ 3D/cms
As you state, within DS the DAZConnect install path is the one where the files are being installed. Not sure why they are going there through DIM and not to the psecified path. So they are being installed on D drive directory and not the C drive, but now I'm not sure either is correct.UltraScenery - new territory [Commercial]daveso said:

DAZ Studio 4.15 Crashing on startup....Hey Guys,
Just installed the 4.15.0.2, upgrading from 4.14.x.x.
It is now crashing, immediately after the splash screen appears. So the app never actually opens, and I now have no access to it.
Any thoughts as to what might be causing this?
FYI, prior, I had opened 4.14.x.x, and it opened fine. Upon opening DAZ Central for content viewing, I got a notice that DAZ Central had an update. So I did the update for DC. I then updated DAZ Studio from within DAZ Central. All seemed to go fine, but again, now Studio won't open at all.
...I'm on a Mac, running 10.15.7 (Catalina)
Thanks.

ok, but.... where do i find those default resources?
PS: I DONT use any daz-central nor any auto installer.. only manual installation.
Go to your "My Account\Product Library" here at DAZ site and search for "Studio 4.X"
The "IM00013176-42_DefaultResourcesforDAZStudio415.zip" can be found amongst the downloadable Studio 4.15 files and if you scroll down, you will find links to the Genesis 8 Starter Essentials
What is with the sorry state of Metadata?Interesting... Out of curiosity, do you use Install Manager? And, if so, did the fixes appear as updates in DIM? I'm starting to wonder if there's a problem on my end.
Some fixes come via DIM, some via a meta update inside DAZ Studio.
However, for some reasons, SOMETIMES meta data updates don't work for buggy reasons.
There are multiple work arounds, like reinstall the meta data via
Content Library->Content-DB-Maintance->Re-Import-Meta-Data (select there the products which you want to fix)
Sometimes I've to uninstall the product before:
Uninstall the product through Daz Central or the Install Manager > go into Daz Studio and to the Content Library pane > click on Products > click on the first letter of the product name (F in my example) > right-click on the thumbnail for the product > choose Uninstall (if it isn't already) > right-click on the product again and click Delete > go to the top of Daz Studio and click Connect > and Update Metadata. Wait for the metadata to load then restart Daz Studio > and install the product through Daz Connect. But NORMALLY reimporting meta data or uninstalling the product should not be needed!
If the meta data are after this steps stays corrupt, it's still an error on DAZ side.
