exporting Genesis 8 to Blender for morph making? How do I?
I just load the G8F, delete the eyelashes; then I set resolution to base.
You don't have to set the scale on export to 1%, but doing so sets it to the correct scale in Blender; whatever you do, you MUST make sure scales match. So if you do use 1% to Blender you will need 10000 coming back.
Not all the settings are requied as shown in the images, but when I was experimenting a few years ago, those worked so I left them. Changing some, may mess up the export and/or import.
If you're not using Morph Loader, but importing the mesh, the settings still apply around the parts I circled in blue.
Edit;
You'll notice the axis (X, Y and Z) don't match; this is so the rotation for Blender is correct, and the rotation when returned to Studio is also correct.
[Released] Character Converter from Genesis 3 Female to Genesis 8 Female(Now Conv JCMs) [Commercial]There is also the issue that, unfortunately, GenX is no longer actually supported. Apart from what video tuts exist, and people who answer questions in the forums.
Now, if something like this were available to transfer the morphs of pre-G3 characters, It would be *very* helpful for anyone who is maintaining characters in a series that they want to keep as current as they can.
Admittedly, it might not cover *all* of the bases that GenX did. I got reasonably good (certainly usable) results converting a couple of Sparky's anthromorphs to G1 and G2M, and those are pretty extreme. And I don't think anyone is going to expect it to handle geographs. But most of the characters people are going to want to transfer are likely to be human characters. We've got some pretty good solutions for the textures, but something that would handle the whole morph collection would make things a good deal easier.
Quick question: Does this depend upon metadata and products that were installed by some method *other* than manually? I remember that the first clothing converters wanted things that were installed through DIM.
That is a good point. Support, especially for something like conversion, is crucial, as there are a lot of questions

For the main character conversion script, the metadata is used like the other conversion scripts. The script uses it to collect a list of characters. By using unchecked "Check Content Type" and Add Files, you can add any file. You may have to use Force Convert for truly bad metadata (though I found no issue with that). For the custom character conversion script, it is just using what morphs are used on a character in a scene, no metadata needed.
[Released] Character Converter from Genesis 3 Female to Genesis 8 Female(Now Conv JCMs) [Commercial]I struggled for a bit on what I wanted to make at first. I decided I didn't want to make a convert-morphs product.
I don't understand. If this product doesn't convert morphs and not UV's, what does it do?
I have to admit this is my query as well, along with - will there be a G8 Male version?
It DOES convert morphs, but instead of "here is a list of morphs, choose which ones, (think GenX2)" it concentrates on making it easy to just select a character and it will convert the used morphs for that character.
Got it!

This looks like a really cool product! If this is going to be a series of products like your hair and clothing converters... I'd be very interested in a version that converts G2 and Genesis characters to G8! (Getting way ahead again, so sorry!
)Interesting. That is two people that have written that they are interested in earlier generations. I would have thought that that market would have already been fulfilled by other offerings and nobody would want earlier generations.
Do you mean that there already are ways to transfer preG3 characters up to G3? Perhaps I didn't do my due diligence. I'm aware of the GenX products, although I don't own them (yet). So by using your upcoming G3 -> G8 products together with GenX, I suppose one could get anything up to G8?
I meant this.
Or do you mean that there isn't any interest in preG3 characters? I don't think that's true. I find Michael 5 rather hadsome, I think it'd be fun to have him amongst my G8 characters. And I picked up Azumi for Aiko 5 when it was a bi-weekly freebie, she looks intriguing. Sure, G8 has its own share of white hunks and Asian women... but it would still be fun to also have those older models! I don't know, I guess I'm greedy like that :)
ITF Character Dev Kit for G8M
Installed it through the zip, works fine now.The explode teeth morph is not working. Please provide more details. Do any error messages appear? Did you install through DIM or manually?
I've just run another test on a computer with a fresh Daz Studio install, containing only Genesis 8 essentials and ITF Dev Kit - The Explode Eyes and Teeth morph is working without issue.
I installed through DIM, so that might be it. It literally did -nothing- when I pressed it.So the eyes and teeth don't move at all? Make sure you're zoomed out a bit, because the meshes get moved out to the side of Genesis 8 Male's head. And you need to have Genesis 8 Male selected in the scene before double clicking on Explode Eyes and Teeth, though it will display an error if you don't.
Please check if the morph appears in the Parameters pane under Genesis 8 Male -> Actor -> InTheFlesh -> ITF Dev Kit
I can't replicate this issue on 2 computers with clean Daz Studio installations installed through DIM using the same files uploaded to Gumroad and ShareCG. I'd like to correct the problem, but I'm not sure where to look if I can't duplicate the issue.
Can anyone else confirm if they are having the same problem?
Free Converter for Luxrender?Free for daz means using Daz 3delight, Opengl, or Iray. If you want to use Lux render engine free download software from https://luxcorerender.org/download/ follow instructions and install in Blender and use that way. You will need Mcasual script to transfer daz stuff over to blender to render. Good luck

The explode eyes & teeth works fine for me
Thanks for this very useful kit - Will you be adding similar for G8F?
Glad to hear the morph is working fine for you!
Yeah, I do plan to create the same kit for Genesis 8 Female. I primarily work on male content so that was my priority.

Hylas' cornerSome really good characters. Muscular characters always make me wish there was a way to dial in a muscular morph on a limb-by-limb basis versus globally, since not every muscle is always flexed. The only way I would know how to do such a thing would be selectively with deformers.

Unable to fit a shirt (OBJ) to Genesis 2I did that now, but it still doesn't conform to the model. Now after exporting and importing it again, it stays where it should, but DAZ doesn't treat is as a conforming cloth.
I have uploaded the OBJ here if anybody wants to take a look: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1aqg__EoQ-5JLKCEPLQVE0Axt-r_fQZUf
Thank you very much!
Edit: I first made the mistake of exporting the shirt with the Genesis 2 model. I have now disabled the model by pressing the eye icon and then exported again.
After importing the nicely positioned shirt, it works now after Transfer Utility.
Now well though, but the shirt moves along with the upper body. :-)

Unable to fit a shirt (OBJ) to Genesis 2Hello!
I have created a shirt in ZBrush, and I would now like to put it onto Genesis 2 Female.
Therefore I have loaded Genesis 2 Female, then I clicked "File -> Import" and selected my shirt OBJ.
The shirt now sits on the model's feet ("shirt1.png")
I have then clicked the Transfer utility and set some options ("transfer1.png").
It didn't change anything.
How could I fit the shirt to the model?
Thank you!

Use clothing that doesn't use perfect A pose of genesis 8I have some OBJs of clothing that are not in the exact A pose of Genesis 8. The legs are a bit more closed. Its quite easy for me to close a bit the legs of genesis 8 character to fit, but then I use the transfer utility the clothing wont use this transformation but the default A pose, deforming the clothing.
Is there any way of temporally ask genesis to use the slightly closed legs as default 0 transfomation pose in order to fit the clothing? I think something similar is done to fit genesis 3 to 8 as both have arms in different positions, but not sure how.
ITF Character Dev Kit for G8MThe explode teeth morph is not working.Save Fit Control morphs to clothing figureSave as... then chose Wearable(s) preset, and follow the other prompts.
You'll select the clothing from a menu;) You could also save the clothing as a subset, you need to unparent the clothing first. And after merging the cloth into another scene you will have to re fit it to your character.
That will keep the fit control morphs intact? As far as I remember, yes. Why don't you try it yourself? Worst thing that can happen is you have to reload fit control;)
Going to give it a try. Too bad I only have the fit control for g2 (hence the reason I'm trying to save the morphs to the clothing for when I apply them to g3). :)You could also: Unfit the clothing, zero out all morphs/modifications except the fit control morphs, set resolution to base, hide everything except the clothing and export as .obj. Select the clothing and zero figure shape, import the .obj with morphloader to create a morphslider with your fitcontrol morphs. Now you can either save the clothing as a werable preset (need to fit it to a character first) or as a subset, or you can save the morph as a support asset/morph asset if you want to include the morph with the original clothing. Just make sure the default value is set to zero.
"Missing" item with Historical HairThere's no hat object nor any indication what hat it should be used on.
The "hat morph" is for the hair, it morphs the hair so it can fit under hats without poking through them.
Ah. Thanks for the clarification. Makes sense now.
Figure distortion when changing posture (genesis 8)The problem was in the buggy morph! Found, deleted and it all worked! Thanks for answers!
