[Released] Clothing Converter from Genesis 3 Female to Genesis 8 Female [Commercial]
As a suggestion for improving this, is it possible to add an option that will strip out the figure morphs for the DO base figures?
The FBMVictoria7.dsf morphs and the like that persist after conversion cause conflicts with things like the "Victoria 7 for Victoria 8" products; the latter uses exactly the same name for a morph that's very differently shaped, given it's now shaped as a derivative of the Genesis 8 base figure, so the clothing ends up the wrong shape*, meaning that it's better to just rely on auto-follow to do the job (unless you can contrive a better fix).
* Mendoman posted a picture example of the problem here, although he converted the item manually: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/352506/victoria7-for-victoria8-morph-problems-with-g3-items
I also discover from having gone through and deleted all of said G7 FBM morphs from my converted clothing that they were using up a good couple of gigabytes - given these are shapes that either won't be activated or are likely to cause problems when activated, being able to not convert them would be something of a boon to disk space.
Are you talking about the clothing converters or the character converters? The only morphs that should be transferred with clothing are the clothing morphs. Could you explain more please?
SereneNight's Sci-Fi Fun Thread 2While it is definitely realistic that the face is not symmetrical, I think this is a bug, or a morph which is being dialed in, since the girl doesn't have it, and it isn't visible in the promo art.
I am beleaguered from putting in service requests, but will probably do so one of these days. So far, none of the requests I've submitted lately have been completed but all have been escalated to bug tracker.
I actually sent 2 complete scenes and made 2 videos for 2 different bugs I reported. They can be even more work than trying to create a scene in DAZ Studio to begin with.
I only have a couple hours at night to do renders. Submitting tickets cuts into my render time, and takes me about 15 minutes. Plus the system is awkward with redundant questions, and captcha. It needs to be streamlined for user friendliness, and things like tagging things by problem type is something the helpdesk should do behind the scenes.
I think captchas don't happen if you submit the ticket logged into your DAZ account.
Creating a Genesis 8 character from a custom mesh? What does "derivitive" mean? Is there a way to make sure my own head mesh has the exact same amount of vertices as a genesis 8 head?
Derivative means it is derived from the Daz mesh, and so bound by the terms of the daz user license.
Vertex count isn't enough - it will let the shape load as a morph, but the result will look like a nasty transporter accident as vertex 1 of the model goes to the position of vertex 1 of the morph, vertex 2 of the model to vertex 2 of the morph and so on - not only does the global count have to match, but the order has to match too.
Creating a Genesis 8 character from a custom mesh?pretty sure any morph you create has to be the same amount of vertices as the base figure. Your best bet would be facegen and probably easier also. Make sure it is only for personal use. Retopology and shrinkwrapping are connsidered derivitive when used with DAZ figures.

If you login (upper right corner) on the Submit a Request page, you don't have to deal with captcha at all.
Creating a Genesis 8 character from a custom mesh? Thanks for the replies! That Shrinkwrap thing looks promising! Is there any documentation available on how to get genesis 8 into Blender, apply shrinkwrap an then get the modified genesis 8 shape back out as a morph? Also, could this approach work for just a head, instead of the entire genesis 8 figure?

ERC Freeze keyed from timeline - Relative to first keyHi!
I have a pose and want to precisly move the arm. So if I set this up in the timeline and do an ERC Freeze with the "Keyed" option turned on, I get the result that I want - at the first glace. Cause if I save the property or try to zero the pose - it simply stays on the pose of the first keyframe. I want to save the movement relative to the first pose - like the option "reverse deformations" in the morph loader. Is there some way to do this with erc freeze?
Alternatively, is there a way to compare two poses and get the difference as a result?
Thank you for the help.Shoe riggingHello everyone, I'm Collins modeled sport wear and sneakers for Genesis 2 female in zbrush exported as an Obj file to DAZ, rig both the sport wear and sneaks with DAZ after running the transfer utility the sport wear worked perfectly fine but, having a big problem rigging the sneakers once I hit Accept after running transfer utility the sneakers would jump out of genesis leg position and become smaller very tiny. Plz how do i correct this? Help plzSereneNight's Sci-Fi Fun Thread 2While it is definitely realistic that the face is not symmetrical, I think this is a bug, or a morph which is being dialed in, since the girl doesn't have it, and it isn't visible in the promo art.

Creating a Genesis 8 character from a custom mesh?Hi all,
I'm playing around with photogrammetry to try and recreate my own head in 3D. If I ever get a good result, would it be possible somehow to use that 3D mesh of my own head as a sort of "target" for a character head morph for Genesis 8? (Somehow create a genesis 8 head morph that duplicates the geometry of my head mesh?
Thanks a lot,
Me

Looking for Miku Miku Dance enthusiasts that like using DAZ as an MMD platformI wish there was a way to transfer keyframed cloth and hair animations into Iclone. I still can't find a happy medium I like for skin textures in DS or any other platform.
It depends on your personal preferences for your final output.
Iclone's native cloth& hair physics are realtime and its Maya human IK based motion building tools are far superior to what we have in daz studio even with the new manual IK node system in 4.12.However I assume you prefer the more "polished" look of the Daz clothing and hair.
I personally find it suites me better to create basic body animation in Iclone and bring that into Daz studio as figure specific targeted BVH
I too prefer Daz studio for my custom modeled clothing and, of course, the many morph options of Genesis in its native environment.I also prefer to do my facial animation&lipsync in Daz studio as I will ultimately be exporting my pre-animated figures out to C4D as/obj MDD files.
Or another way is to export alembic for deformations but this way you lose the rigging.
Since I tend to approach my animation projects like a "traditional" filmaker/Director I dont care about losing the rigging in my final render program because at that stage I no longer need it.
NO Genesis Character gets sent over to C4D, unless it has already been animated and had an openGL peview movie render from Daz studio to check for mistakes.
There is no re-posing/animating of Characters in C4D because that is all done in the Iclone& daz studio phase of my linear pipeline.
It is my view that a muti-application pipeline is better because there are some programs that will always perform certain functions far better than others.
Therefore I personally consider trying to completely replicate the JCM&posing Functionalty of a Daz genesis figure, in an external program is not worth the labor even with well intended plugins like Larson's or the various Daz to maya plugins on the market.
duplicate formulars found in filesThe could not find messages mean just that - there's a link, in this case to Victoria 8, from the Smoother V8 20L ansd Smoother V8 20R morphs which cannot be resolved as you don't have Victoria 8 installed. Since it's a correction morph that is needed only when Victoria 8 is installed and applied that is harmless.
The messages have nothing to do with the Duplicate Formulas alert, you should be able to find log entries for those too.
It's so strange
I don't remember that I have changed my content...
And why do a base G8F needs victoria 8 ...?
It doesn't mean that Victoria 8 is needed - it means that if Victoria 8 were installed that product would have extra morphs already in place to make sure it worked properly with Victoria 8.

Victoria7 for Victoria8 morph problems with G3 itemsI also discovered the same problem with Riversoft/Sickleyield's conversion scripts, except there you don't get the option to delete the additional morphs before the resource gets saved.
For anyone who later finds this thread searching for a solution to that variant for the problem, I eventually figured out that searching for Folder: "For Genesis 8 Female" File:FBMVictoria7.dsf (Or, similarly FBMOlympia7.dsf, FBMEva7.dsf, etc) in the "data" folder in the relevant content library in File Explorer should find just the variants on the converted outfits without finding the versions of the morph on the original G3F outfits. (Still, check the search results carefully before you just delete everything you find).
Removing all the redundant G3F correctives from the G8F versions of a few hundred converted outfits did actually clear up a couple of gigabytes of disk space as well, so potentially worthwhile from that perspective.

Flowscape And Daz Studio - So Many Backdrops!Could you describe roughly how you do it?
I confess the closest I have got to Blender so far is to download the MSI file on my tablet so I can transfer it to my off-line Win7 machine. Blender is currently a completely closed book to me and I'm going to need to roughly know what to do until I feel comfortable with it. I've been using DS4.10 and 4.11 since March, and still don't feel fully up to speed with it, even though I originally felt comfortable with DS 0.7/0.8/0.9 and 1.x when they came out.

Richard
AIUTO...CHI CONOSCE L’ITALIANO? PARTE DODICIMai vista quella funzione, ma sembra figa!
Assolutamente!

Victoria7 for Victoria8 morph problems with G3 itemsHi,
I'm having problems with this morph while I'm transfering items from G3 to G8. For some reason, some shirts and hairs are not transferring correctly ( shirts for example are positioned like 10 cm too high ). If I use Sickleyield's tutorial ( https://www.deviantart.com/sickleyield/journal/Tutorial-Convert-Clothing-G3-to-G8-G8-to-G3-686682065 ), items won't fit correctly even when I load them, and if I use normal Daz transfer by just loading G3 item to G8, then items load correctly at first, but when I save and load, then they are positioned wrong on my figure. Here's how it looks, when just V7 for V8 morph used 100% for G8 dev load. If I set V7 for V8 morph to 0%, all items work ok.

I have tried to set all Victoria7 references ( like FBMVictoria7 ) to 0% on the items, but nothing seems to work. I'd really like to use V7 for V8, so anybody has any ideas how to make that morph work with older clothing items?
