Problem Uninstalling Daz Studio

I'm not a fan of Daz Central nor DIM. Have used DIM only when absolutely necessary for one or two items and then uninstalled it.
So. AFAIK you don't want all your content "on the cloud" [which is where W10 loves to put things]. That's a rather limited storage place considering how much content many of us have ;-) [? might have to also be signed in via whatever M$ uses to guard the cloud too]
I did notice with DIM that everytime I went to change something in DIM, ALL the "where to download to" links had to be reset. So be careful where all the links are leading to before downloading. A few items may need to be manually installed as W10's security will kick up its heels to protect the computer. DIM and whatnot cannot get past those security checks. Basically, anything that ends with .exe tends to install better manually in my experience. [and Hexagon to the C deck, not inside the program folders]
And then of course in D/S the Content Manager has to be told where to find everything.
{DIM is great for downloading 'everything it can' to one location {such as an external hard drive} - and then for to install content to the chosen place be it on an external harddrive, or the D drive or whatever - but set it not to remove the zip folders when done. This is then also your backup collection which is a good idea these days.}

What I downloaded from Kitbash3d were the .obj files. Those are not 'seen' - they need to be browsed for and imported into the program. A rather time consuming project then to separate out mesh and/or texture it as I recall too. But doable :-)

To uninstall a troubled program: this may or not work, has worked upon occasion for me:
1. reinstalling the program may uninstall the previous installation as it finds itself. If that does not happen, then uninstall that one and proceed to 2.
2. Close the computer. Boot it up in Safe Mode. [stay disconnected from the 'net]. Then try again to run the deinstaller for D/S. Reinstall the desired D/S edition.
3. Close the computer and open it normally. If D/S is working [hopefully it is], then proceed with dealing with the content, etc.

To access your console in Cinema 4D Either press Shift + F10 or go Extentions > Console
What the post above describes is the same for me. Stuck on "please wait..." Which path would I need to chenge on Daz Central?

If you press the gear icon you will bring up the paths. For Daz Central to know where to install the plugin you will need to change the path. I will look into the issues for everyone but, in the meantime, you can always grab an old version of the plugin directly off the GitHub.

I use both R21 and R23 (mostly R21 because R23 still does not recognize a LOT of plugins). Daz Central only allows one C4D path, and it's pointed to R21. Copying theDaztoC4D plugin folder to the R23 plugins is simple, so that's what I do. I am certain it's in the right place, it just does not show up in R23's extensions. I am wondering if it could have to do with use an older OS (10.13 High Sierra)? Unfortunatley, I can't use any newer OS on my machine, which is a 2010 Mac Pro with nVidia graphics cards.
Interesting. Let check a few things.
1. Let's see if you are running into an error. In the console menu (shift+F10), you will see a python section click there you should the words DaztoC4D ..:::> Started if it actually worked. If not do you see anything else?2. If you go to Edit > Preferences > Plugins You can add a custom path for your Plugins. I would try adding a completely different folder instead to make sure it isn't a permissions issue.

Yes weird, tried it in VLC, Windows Media Player, DVD FAB Player and Deo VR. None of them will play it. I'm guessing it's a codec issue. DVD Fab Player did report a codec error, the others just do nothing or shut down.

Don't, use DIM, Central is very simple a total mess for most.

This is the issue here, which has to do with macOS 10.15.3+ and changes Apple did to the default priveligies for folders under ~/Library. I made a little applescript hack that udually solves this issue, you can find it here. (DAZ Studio CMS Fix for macOS Catalina).
When it comes to installations, I do recommend using DIM over DAZ Central as it give you a little more control. Stand alone installers usually has even more issues whe it comes to the CMS and DS.Apple has not made it easy for developers lately.
If you want to remove, you should also delete the ~/Library/Application Support/DAZ 3D/ folder as well. not only /Applications/DAZ 3D/.

Mac installation errorSent the below to Daz 3ds support but after several days with no reply, I'm putting my hope to the forum instead.

Hello there,
running macOS Catalina v.10.15.7 and have tried to install Daz 3Ds several times with "DazCentral_1.5.0.20_Mac64" without success. Initially it installed the software but with heaps of error warnings; "A valid PostgreSQL CMS connection could not be established.", No Smart Content etc. I uninstalled and tried again - this time installation got stuck at 25%, uninstalled again and when re-opened the installation it started at the previous 25%, even though the previous files would have been deleted after the uninstall action. Figured it was some files left behind, that messed up the new installation. This time I used the "App Cleaner & Uninstaller" to remove the installation, and went into the mac /Library/ and deleted Daz connected files - restated my mac and tried again - this time it went up to 50% and got stuck again. 50% is the level the DazCentral starts at every time now, no matter how I uninstall. Have now used several ways to uninstall; the DazCentral Uninstaller, Several uninstaller apps, Mac's own way etc. for about 30 times over the past couple of days and nothing works. Some of these tries I also used "DAZ3DIM_1.4.0.67_Mac64" with issues as well.
It is annoying that software's are leaving files behind after an uninstallation, because uninstall should mean uninstall, and not a surface uninstall where heaps of hidden files are lingering around - feels very unserious and is troubling since most software's do so.
! However I would like to know how I can completely remove any trace of the software as well as how I can install a functioning copy of it.
Is there a stand-alone Daz 3D installer that I can install the software with, and once working connect it to Daz central? Would have been a better option since searches online is revealing heaps of issues for others trying to install and use the Daz 3D software.
Had Daz 3d installed on another computer years ago and would like to see if it meets my current requirements.

How can I completely remove any trace of the software?
How can I install a functioning installation of Daz 3d?
Is there a stand-alone Daz 3D installer that I can install the software with, and once working connect it to Daz central?

Im a complete newcomer to Daz and I wanted to know how the store works. I bought a model and could not find her. Finally I had to uncheck 'filter by context' and then it showed up in Lost and Found. How do I install so that it just goes to the correct catefories. Please explain like Im 5.
I used Daz Central to Install
sql and product loss.Okay so sine the last Daz central update, it deleted manager. I had to uninstall the whole thing. Now i have no smart management and it blocking me from my paid products also. How to fix, I did lodge a ticket with daz..... they said can take 5 weeks to reply, we on week 4. I attach the errors images to this.
Can the house cat figure actually be ported to Blender? What are the limitations?My question regards the house cat with dforce hair. According to the product listing, I can use the Daz-to-Blender Bridge to use the figure in Blender. But I have never successfully achieved this.
When I attempt to do so, I'm treated to the Error Has Occured message. I receive this message whether I attempt to port just the cat or the cat plus the hair.
Are there some additional considerations I am not aware of? Has anyone actually used the bridge successfully for this figure?
A sort of follow-up question is that, even when I export as an FBX (with animations completely in tact), the fur is missing. I'm assuming that this is because I need to use the relevant software's particle system to recreate this, but is that correct?

Where is link to download Daz Studio? (NOT CMS)Daz Central is an install method, the CMS is a Content Management System is a database of installed content. Daz Central, like Install manager and daz Connect and saving files from within DS, adds data to the CMS dataabse but other than that they are not related - you can install through Central/DIM and not use the CMS, you can use the CMS even if you do manual installs.
Where is link to download Daz Studio? (NOT CMS)When I look to download an update I can only find links to DazCentral.
I have ZERO interest in any CMS including Central. I manualy manage all my own content the way I want it.
Where is the link to the actual DasStudio program updates for download?

Version C here, making use of what you sugested about the geometry editor to light part of the ammo on the leg armor of the right hostile, but also using a somewhat rough luminance map in the same area to light some spots on the same armor piece. I also located a light source that I hadn't know about in the surfaces of the set which I used the same settings as the main lighting before increasing the intencity to compensate for the fan so we get some effect from the new source.

Have you downloaded and isntalled daz Central, or Daz Install Manager? If you obtained DS by going to https://www.daz3d.com/dazcentral I think you should be guided through the steps (click the link to download, tell it which drive to use, and it will start).

I also can't seem to reproduce the results could you share the file when you have a moment. I will need to see what's different.

To do this you will first want to grab the Unreal 4.26 bridge file from wherever content is installed to on your machine; this should be similar to "...Users/Public/Documents/DAZ 3D/InstallManager/Downloads". Once you have manually installed this file to this location, you should be able to locate the plugin and enable it within Unreal the next time you launch it.
