Lately I've noticed that a number of items I purchased no longer show up nor work
How are you loading it onto your computer? There seem to have been a number of problems in recent months with DAZ Central and incomplete or failed auto updates wrecking people's content listings. Could this be your problem too?

SOLVED "Face Transfer" Plugin causes Daz To Crash When I Try to Save the FaceThanks for the reply. It's 4.15.0.2. Crap, I should have tried saving one of the faces when it was still the trial version and Daz Central wasn't installed yet to help narrow things down.
Daz to Unreal Bridge [Materials - Plugin FIX - Morph Exporting - Smooth Meshes FIX]Thank you. I managed to get the Plug-In running. The items which show up in Daz Central as "My Compatible Assets" work better, but in the case of environments, they still have a lot of issues.
Anyways, since it was not an easy task to get the Plug-In working in UE 4.26 and transfer an Environment and the fact that there are still many things to fix afterwards, i wonder if the marketing is not a bit too euphoric for this Workflow / Solution. How to start with Fluidos.Hi all.
I just bought Fluidos (1 not 2) and cant find how to create 'new fluidos domain'. there is nothing showing in my create tab that mentiones fluidos. I am a novice but can figure most things out, except this. I use Daz Central and it is showing as installed under assets and plugins. There is a setup failure pops up when i install the plugin for 'microsoft Visual C++ 2017' as it says there is another version installed. I have 2 newer versions than 2017 if thats causing the problem. I welcome any thoughts as I don't want to have wasted my money.
TIA
Essential Products (in your view)I was able to scan thru all my content in Daz Central and find them. I bought Eye Clock before I found Look at me II, you probably don't need Eye Clock if you have Look at me II, but both are good. Look at me II is gold. I'm a big fan of Riversoft Art. Light probes is excellent. I'm sure you can use point lights instead of buying this, and I'm sure you can use a screwdriver to pound a nail too. It just makes it easier. Skin builder is indispensable. And Biscuits Jam hair might not be a game changer utility, however, it is extremely versatile and replaced several other hairs I had (and wasted money on). Wish I'd found it before I bought them.

Here is the Directories.

Try uninstalling DS4.15 thru DIM and then reinstall
I would have thought Daz Central would have been able to uninstall it! Guess not! I used DIM as you suggest and got straight into 4.15 - Cheers!
Mirhelle's Fantasy Hair Pack not loading properlyI hope I'm putting this under the right section, but I recently bought Mirhelle's Fantasy Hair Pack but it doesn't load properly. I've tried using Install Manager, uninstalling it there, then Daz Central, uninstalling it there, and finally manual download and unzipping it...but I still get the same problem. Is anyone else having this issue, or is it just me?
ManFriday's Render Queue (the old one from 2019) [Commercial]I've clearly done something wrong here and am hoping someone might be able to guide me. I just purchased this and tried to install it via Daz Central. I was prompted to select my version (4.5, 4.x public, 4.x private), I selected public, selected the Daz3D parent folder on my HD, and it appears to have been installed. I then opened up Studio, and I don't have the option under the "Render" menu. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling (which now happens without a prompt as to which version I'm using), but it's just not showing. Thoughts?
EDIT: I was able to get it to install using DIM, although when running it seems to have trouble closing DAZ, doing a forced kill of the executable after 60 seconds.
I uninstalled Octane, now 4.15 just quitsI was finding Octane a pain as it took ages to convert the texture on the assests I would add to a scene so I uninstalled it via Windows. Now when I try to run 4.15 it just quits without warning and looking at the logs, it trying to find the octane.dll file. Annoying thing is, octane.dll file is right where the log is looking for it so I don't know what the problem is! I've even used Daz Central to reinstall 4.15 and it still has teh same probelm.
I submitted a ticket at the beginning of the week but not heard anythiung yet so any help on a solution would be appreciated. ThanksGenesis 8 loading with wrong shapekelly_mcallen_7bae4ac2a7 said:
It didn't work. She still looks wrong. I followed your list step by step twice and no change. I attached log file below.
Ok, but at least there is now some information on, which products are to blaim and with that information, we can check if the actual morph file does have the correct information and if it does, the only possible culprit would be the trigger file for loading Genesis 8 Female (One you see in your product library), which should have been overwritten with the reinstallation of the Genesis 8 Female Starter Essentials...
Just realized that you haven't told us, how your content is installed, is it installed with, DIM, DAZ Central, DAZ Connect (within DS product library) or manually or have you used several methods?
I ask this because apparently DAZ Connect and maybe even DAZ Central are installing the products in non-standard locations and when installed, they steal priority over the DIM and Manual installed files in standard locations. The fixes were written to standard locations, so there is a possibilty of DAZ Central/DAZ Connect installed files overriding them.

Have you checked the log file (Help>Troubleshooting>View Log FIle) to see if there are complaints about bad formatting or the like after trying to load the content? Wheree xactly are the files, and what is the content directory they are in?
There are no error messages. These morph options for these charactes simply don't exist in the shape parameters for these Genesis characters. They were all avaiable and usable in the various other Studio intallations but not now with this bootcamp Windows set up, even though they show as having been installed by Connect and Central, they're unavailable in the shaping pane under Actor, Full Body, Real World drop down menu. These would include individual settings for legs, head, face, torso, glutes, young, old, etc.
Carrara Sale Email Message Alert threadin thier nice new DAZ Central the only programs they have it install seem to be Studio and Hexigon.
Why do I keep getting a "maximum allowable connections" error?Richard Haseltine said:

I can't stay connected via DIM for more than 6, maybe 12, hours. The only other "connections" to DAZ are a few (okay, several) browser pages. No Connect, no Central, one machine. If they're going to disconnect anything, make it a browser window or tab. I do not appreciate all the extra disk thrash as DIM re-scans everything yet again.
The browser doesn't use connection in that sense. Daz Central and Install Manager do, using the same type, and Daz Connect uses another type with a separate limit. There may be other factors in play at different times, and apparently there is a caching issue (curently being investigated) which may cause a connection to drop after it has been sitting unused.
So, one connection, then, and I have been disconnected while downloading, so it wasn't due to idleness.
Return of The Core (and similar)Many years ago, DAZ used to sell an early Stonemason product called The Core, which was a sci-fi building element with a central column and an extended walkway. Although it's very old now, if you were lucky enough to buy it way-back-when, it still works perfectly with DAZ Studio (after a quick conversion of the 3DL shaders to Iray) and looks great.
I'd love to see, if not necessarily The Core itself, some products along the same lines. In the same category I'd also include Stonemason's Skydock, another oldie-but-goodie that is still on sale. While Stonemason has done some impressive large sets on a sci-fi theme, I think there's a definite niche for smaller products like The Core and Skydock which (a) have a distinctive sci-fi look and (b) are small enough to be self-contained. They make very good settings for single figures, or for mix-and-match combinations with other products with a similar look.
We have endless choice when it comes to sci-fi interiors, especially corridors, but we don't have quite as many attractive, self-contained sci-fi exterior sets.
Of course if DAZ 3D brought back The Core as a PC+ item, with updated Iray materials, that might not be a bad thing either.
Purchased products not available in Studio libraryMoving Studio to a Mac bootcamp Windows partition and installing my extensive library to an external SSD hard drive has been extremely problematic. The latest issue is that items purchased from the Daz store and used for a long time successfully on my iMac version of the library have become invisible on the Windows version. There are more than a few of these items but I will use https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-8-female-body-morphs as an example. Daz Central shows this product is installed. Daz Connect shows it's installed. DIM shows it's installed and clearly indicates that it's been installed to the correct path in my library. None of these morphs however are available when I load a compatible Genesis 8 figure into a scene. I have the same problem with the Genesis 8 female head morphs, the Genesis 8 male head and body morphs, the Genesis 3 male and female body and head morphs as well.
I know someone may think that I'm using a Genesis 8.1 figure but that's not the case. I've tried uninstalling and then reinstalling these products. I've done drive searches for these products through the options tab. I've updated metadata, re-imported the metadata and still these products remain hidden and unavailable in my library or in the shapes pane.
Maybe there's a technical bulletin relating to this but given that the forums comprise thousands of threads dating back over a decade, finding such a notice wouldn't be easy. I'd create a tech support ticket but since it seems there's just one or two people handling these things, that often take many weeks to resolve.
Any ideas or information about this problem would be helpful.
Daz Studio Pro BETA - version 4.15.0.30! (*UPDATED*)umm,
I would strongly argue against the assertion that "it's the same people" that are suffering this repeated lesson related to updates and the backing up of previous installations/installers. Rather, I propose the repeated messages are coming from intelligent but confused *new* users, simply figuring out the "DS way" the hard way - just like the rest of us have.
Kind of an ages-old initiation ritual at this point, you might say. heh.
Relative to end-users, the current DS Application update system is auditably anti-revision-control in its design. And I'm not saying or implying it is designed with malice or ill intent. This is a statement of fact, based on evidence.
It is simply impossible, as designed, for the users of DAZ Studio to engage in any serious form of *efficient* program/application revision control and rollback based on the installation file archive information available to them at any given moment.
Oh sure, you can describe for me the steps I should take to ensure a complete backup right now, etc. Please, spare me. Forum posts with that info abound for this very reason - and in spite of the good souls (myself included) who try to warn and prescribe the proper work-around to DAZ's refusal to help us protect our application history, the problem repeats at virtually every update. Again, and again, and again. This is also a fact.
Cure the problem, not the symptom.
I've got 30+ versions of "IM00013176-02_DAZStudio4xxWin64bit.zip" and all of the DAZ-sponsored plugins (like "IM00010673-02_DecimatorforDAZStudio4xxWin64bit.zip") that I manually copy and store in named and version numbered folders because *I* certainly can't tell exactly what version each file is without ripping it open and 'grep'ing through the files to figure out which is which.
And neither can you.
Outside of personal full-system backups before each update download session, the current DS file-naming system has no practical user-facing versioning of the files to be backed up.
And no, checksums or other file-parsing/diffing techniques are not viable 'end-user' solutions for this situation. Name the files distinctly and let the user keep or remove them at will - even if by using a checkbox in the DIM/Connect/Central interfaces. That's all it would take.
And based on the internal behaviors of the Developers, they *certainly* understand, and practice, great revision control! To that end, their own plugins that haven't internally changed code between versions, will choose not to load if their compiled in versioning doesn't exactly match the updated DS core application version. Nice. And, none of the PA plugins suffer this effect - DS4.x PA plugins that are 8 years old work fine today - go figure.
So, this system design isn't based on ignorance - it's an intentional choice.
Yet, while I may disagree with the DAZ policy that makes rolling back and access to older versions difficult, I understand it.
I understand that supporting 30 older versions of a 'free' program isn't cost effective for *any* business where costs like this will be accrued by the loss-leader (DS).
Perhaps I would simply make the older installers available in an archive, and release them with a clear 'no support' policy - but that's just me.
But never, across the industry and years of software development and usage, have I seen a system that makes it so difficult for
a) a user to even *know* that he/she should cover his/her interests (old versions getting silently replaced), and
b) make it so overtly difficult to actually do so, and to recover from errors in that effort.
No, the problem here isn't the new DS user who didn't back up his/her files.
Nobody can argue the fact that after all this time, somebody in the DAZ release management group has long-since made an operational choice and *still* thinks it's the right choice after all of these years, in spite of all of this constant/repetitive forum feedback from intelligent new users learning the same old lessons again and again, and in spite of all of these support tickets requesting rollback versions. But, perhaps the release team is right in their choice - based on what metric and what numbers - who knows?
That said, I would love to see see how many of their support hours are spent helping users roll-back to previous versions, and even *more* curious, how many of these new DS users simply went and installed Blender after witnessing how this all operates. Too bad we'll never know, eh? Based purely on forum participation, it's clearly a repeating pattern for those that would look - both the problem... and the 'solution'...
And FWIW, as well intended as it may seem, effectively calling the intelligent but frustrated DS newbie users 'stupid' for not backing up their files, rather than acknowledging and maybe addressing the problem as it really stands, probably doesn't generate as much community goodwill to the new users as one might imagine, but perhaps the composition of the community simply is what it is.
That many of us have reverse engineered and shared the details required to do the required backups may prove some tidbits of wisdom, it doesn't make the fact that we need to do so *in this way* any less silly.
The movie character Forrest Gump had a good line about stuff like this.
best,
