Can earlier versions be used with Stephanie? Just wondering if they are form specific or if any of the previous female avatars can also be used with 6. If previous version add-ons can be used that would eliminate a lot of the confusion I have. Can this file be used with that file, or are they incompatible...things like that. Otherwise it seems like you concentrate on Michael 4 and ignore/avoid anything beyond that. However, if the can all work together, I can see a lot more uses from it.

Hello folks, brand new user. Well, to be honest I just picked it up and am overwhelmed. My name is Daniel and I'm a have played RPG's since the first incarnation in the early 1970's. I've always wanted a way to draw my character and I have no artistic ability. I have visions but can never get beyond the stick figure version. Hopefully this will help but the options are unnerving!

There are so many choices and I have no idea what direction to go. What is this Michael 4, or 5, or 6. Which should I buy, why should I buy. Will it be better to buy 4 compared to 6? I honestly have no clue and if someone wants to send me a private message I'm more then willing to discuss what I want to do and see if I can get some good pointers.

I have the time right now to work on my character, waiting to see if the VA decides to replace my knee or not.

Ken OBanion was happy to be home in Texas after a long cold assignment in the frozen Midwest. He got up and threw open the door to let in the warm sunshine. He gave his cat, Siegfried, the last of the milk and prepared his own usual breakfast of toast and martini.

Ken logged into the DAZ store to check on the new releases. "Wow! Stephanie 6. Man, she's HOT! I want her.", Ken exclaimed. Ken's musical taste leaned toward Wagner, for the most part, but the sight of Stephanie 6 prompted him to indulge in his guilty pleasure: Rick Springfield. He sang softly to himself, "Where can I find a woman like that? I wish that I had..."

Ken's reverie was interrupted by the RRRRoar of an engine and the squeal of tires. Alexis flew through the open door on her purple motorcycle. She wiped out as she hit the shiny hardwood floor and jumped off in the nick of time. "I've left Martin!", she yelled, "He's a sham! I saw the movie 'Roxanne'. I know that you scripted his every word - his every action. It's YOU I love, Ken OBanion! It's YOU!!"

A Huge grin spread across Ken's face. He finished his song. "I wish that I had Martin's girl."

Melanie (in the red dress) was feeling a bit annoyed. Her friends had talked her into a seaside holiday with glowing descriptions of a new nearby art museum with lovely gardens. The "museum" turned out to be very small gallery that showed stupid mass-produced canvases, and the gardens were a few pitiful imported palm trees. They decided to stroll on the beach and Melanie was not paying much attetion to anything, only thinking about going home. Overhead Bananaquit birds screached without mercy.

"Melanie dear, someone is calling to you," her friend Ardis said with a giggle. "Look, on that big rock behind us."

Melanie came out of her dark reverie and turned to see her old friend Merman Mike, a guy who often turned up in very odd surroundings. He seemed very at home here on the beach, supervising his step children and an old sea turtle. She spoke to him for a bit and he said he would be free that evening and perhaps she and her friends would like to join him at the tiki bar. That brightened her mood and they all agreed to meet that evening.

"What a strange chap," Morgan said as they continued on their stroll.

"Wait 'til you meet his friends," Melanie replied.

One of the packages with Victoria 4 or Michael 4 should eb the PowerLoader script that launches the dialogue - if it's installed you should see a scroll icon at top-left of the characters thumbnail in the Content panes. If you have the scroll but no dialogue you may have turned it off - hold down ctrl (Win)/cmd(Mac) while you double click to load a fresh Victoria 4/Michael 4 from the library to force it to show.

While this can seem expensive at first, you get your moneys worth since you're able to re-use most of your older textures to work fine on the newer figures.

G2M and G2F are separate figures in the exact same way Vicky and Mike were. That is to say, not much different at all on the surface.

Michael 4 was a direct morph of Victoria 4. The Kids 4 also fall into this category, being a direct descendent of the previous mesh. The have the same number of polygons, they have the same topology, and it's possible to make an M4 morph for Victoria 4 just by using exporting Michael and using him as a morph target. If you want further evidence, then look between the legs in wireframe mode. All the Gen4 figures have dozens of extra polygons presumably intended for genital morphs. Given the arrangement, it's clear those polys weren't intended for male genitals either.

Genesis 2 differs somewhat in that they're using weight maps which helps with bending, and because they each have different weight mapping, each one bends more naturally. Genesis 1 on the other hand had 1 set of weight maps for both male and female figures, which is why there were a lot of behind-the-scenes morphs to remedy the androgynous nature.

Michaels 4 & 5 didn't have moobs, though

I don't have this character and the online readme is just a place holder.

Did you install this with DIM? If so select this item and right clck on it. This brings up a menu. Select show installed files. There probably will be an HTML readme file listed. Click on that file. This will open the file manger on this file. Open it in a browser. This is an old readme, but they usually tell you were to find the item.

If you did not use DIM, then look in the zip file you downloaded. You should be able to find the readme HTML in it.

It will probably be under Poser Formats -> -> Poses somewhere. You can also look at the installed files for .pz2 files under the Runtime-> Poses directory.
You will need to load Michael 4 in the scene with his Morph++ injected. There should be Head and body injections pz2 for this character you can apply to change the body shape. There should be skin mats to apply the skin and other options.

These are the most common places for character like this. If you can find the readme it will make it easier to find.

However... I purchased a character called "Raphael" in the store. He required the Michael 4 model and the morph++ of that. Got both.

My issue is that I cannot figure how to load that particular preset.

I've had problems with the “Michael 4 for Genesis 2 Male” morph set seeming not working at all with Jeans M4 and M4 Dynamic Polo Shirt.

Hi,
I've been able to use the Slosh plugin "Michael 4 for Genesis 2 Male" with other clothing items, applying them to Genesis 2 but "DS Dynamic Jeans for M4" doesn't seem to work at all.

There is no "Auto fit" or "Fit-to" option no matter which way I bring it in (with character selected or dragging and dropping or without character selected).

The jeans come in 'un-selectable' but even after I change this in the Scene tab nothing improves

Even with a geometry smoothing modifier it doesn't seem to work.

I'm having similar problems with "M4 Dynamic Polo Shirt".

Is there a solution? (other than buying Michael 4 Base...)

i have the M4 Morphs++ package with M4 however is there any skin color other than the default pink? to make it match the skin of Michael 4?

Is that something different than "Michael 4 for Genesis 2 Male"? I have that product as well as the M4 Skin Auto Converter. And I'm looking to see what else. I don't have the Generation 4 Legacy Shapes for Genesis 2 but it says, "*Note: This set contains only head and body shapes. It does not include UVs for skin textures or AutoFit clones for clothing." so I didn't think I needed that one.

No, you shouldn't have to rename anything...

These are older products, before the new file formats. They are made for 4th generation figures (we are now at 6th generation), so they are still in the old format. They need M4 or V4 to use (Michael 4/Victoria 4).

Thanks, after checking the directory paths and reinstalling once more the purchased character is working fully and I have the Shaping panel options back!

I don't know why I had V4 & M4 then, I'd never used or installed Daz before. Hopefully the “Michael 4 for Genesis 2 Male” plugin will work fully!

So can any manually installed content (eg free items) just unzipped to Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library ??

Hi.

I initially downloaded Daz 4.5x and built some characters, purchased some clothes etc. It was all working well.

I reinstalled Daz after messing up moving the libraries but the new version of Daz 4.6 does not have M4 and V4 characters (so the assets I've purchased are incompatible) and also there are NO SHAPING morphs included for Genesis or Genesis 2, the panel is blank...

Problems:

1. No M4 or V4 characters after reinstall from 4.5x to 4.6 (so assets I purchased are useless, although I have just purchased "Michael 4 for Genesis 2 Male")

2. NO SHAPING morphs included for Genesis or Genesis 2

3. A purchased character doesn't seem to work (textures do but morphs for body and head do nothing, even though advertised as being compatible with Genesis. I tried this with V4 before the upgrade but the morphs didn't work.)

Please help! :)
