DAZ Studio 4.12 ... Face creation abilities????
One can also turn the Face Transfer created characters into figurines.
I have used the excelent Sculptural - https://www.daz3d.com/sculptural-genesis-8-ultra-fun-kit - for the render below.
Anthropomorphic shapes for Genesis 8Can't you just take the melody head and put it on the Gemnesis 8 figure with Autofit from V4?
That would be easy enough. What's less straightforward is the body textures, I don't think there's any easy way to transfer a Generation 3 texture set onto G8F/M. If there's a transfer utility that goes back past Gen4, I've missed it.
[Released] Character Converter from Genesis 8 Female to Genesis 3 Female - Conv JCMs too[Commercial]Textures not a problem. Morphs not a problem.
I thought you were having a problem with the eyes? I was asking which, textures or morphs, are the problems with the eyes.
I transfer one character at a time, cause I don't really own that many G8F characters. The ones that I'm happy with (G3F characters) end up in the same folder as the origional G8F version aranging the folder structure similar to other PA products that provide a character preset for both G8 and G3 Female. Am I making sence? Anyways, it would ben nice if your script would also convert the materials presets from G8F to G3F

I only use 4 Content folders: 1. Which I call "Daz Essentials". That has all my scripts and default daz stuff. 2. G3&G8 Base female. I add or delete morph packages as I need. 3. The G8F character to be converted, which gets deleted when complete. 4. The Output Content library for the completed conversion. All the content in this folder gets added to the origional G8F character, for archiving.
This way I end up with a charcter with a minimal amount of morphs to create the character, cause the end result is used in Carrara which saves the character with all the morphs (applied or not) which results in a character that is 100mb + in size.

DAZ Studio 4.12 ... Face creation abilities????Is it possible, that there are different versions of Face Transfer out there?
My copy creates mostly reddish like monster versions of the textures
or the ghostly white ones
Anyhow, it is interesting to see, what details are created by Face Transfer.
And it all started with Genesis 8 Basic Male - just amazing.
Laggy Genesis8I think that the more morph packages (shapes, expressions, etc. the longer it will take. I haven't done a lot of testing, so this is a guess. That said, I have a lot of G8F characters and a lot of shape, expression, etc morph packages. G8F takes 2 minutes and 9 seconds to load from a new scene. Win7 64bit, 32GB Ram.
It looks like it takes about 2 minutes to "clear the scene", after a previous load, even if there is nothing in the scene. For example, after the deleting the G8F from the 2min, 9 second time, loading a different G8F took 3 min 46 seconds. After loading a new empty scene, the 3min 46 second character loaded in 1 min 46 seconds. This timing is repeatable.
Guy 8vwrangler, I didn't know there was a Guy 7. I can convert his base character to G8.That's brilliant.
Thanks!
Thanks to ALL you guys!
You may already know this, but just in case: if you want to use his texture, you'll either need to do a Map Transfer to shift it from Guy 7 UV to Base Male UV (tutorial thread here - also, Base Male will work on both G3M and G8M, so you'll only need to do that once), or you'll need to get RedzStudio's product that allows you to use any G3M UV on G8M.
Face Transfer missing DLL file? The Face Transfer plugin failing to load on some machines may be due to a dependent library (e.g., msvcp140.dll) that does not exist on the user's machine. If this is the case, until we update the package to either include the VS 2015 redistributable or we can get a 3rd party library compiled with an earlier version of the compiler, users that experience this issue can download/install "Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015" from Microsoft @ https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145 and this should resolve the issue.
Diomede's Notepad, Sketchpad, and Chilling Pad.Review - Modeling with LittleFox Part 3 - Getting to Daz Studio
OK, my bad, this tutorial is clearly labeled, but I didn't think it through. LittleFox shows how to create a detailed dress for Victoria 4. Well, that figure was designed for the legacy Poser CR2 format, and its rigging system. So, the tutorial is out of date for content for newer figures like the Teena dress I posted above. Lady LittleFox remains well organized and explains things clearly and with humor.
I'm still glad I went through the tutorial, and some of the lessons are useful, but the transfer utility has changed the basics or Studio figures like Genesis. I still create some of my own figures for Carrara, which still can accept the legacy Poser CR2, so I can still use a lot of the lessons. However, I think most people would prefer a more recent tutorial that focses on Genesis figures and Sudio's more recent rigging maps and brushes.
FACE TRANSFER UNLIMITED PROBLEMSError: Face Transfer failed to load the base material preset. The image will still transfer, but with reduced quality. What is the base material preset?
It is installed with the updated Genesis 8 Starter Essentials.

Face Transfer missing DLL file?Seems DS lost something? I checked b4 buying, Face Transfer is included ( minus a license key ) according to what I understand.
When I look in /About/Plugins it says its there but failed to load. It provides a path to a DLL file that is not there?
I checked on three different machines with updates to 4.12 and every one is missing the DLL file?
Is there a place to download that separatly? Abesnt that your not even able to enter a license key.
Face TransferWanted to try the new plugin. It seems to be the only one that wont load. Any ideas guys??
You may need to follow these steps:

Problem with eyes using Face TransferI love this new addition, Face Transfer. I'm can create more models with it. The only problem I have (mostly, I do have another one) with it is the eyes. The 'whites of the eyes' are darker and sometimes dotted. I included two images, one of Daz's Elenora and the other, Shantell, I created using Face Transfer. Is this a bug with the program and I have to put up with it? Or is there an solution available?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
Wolfman and Wolfwomanbuy demon creator morphs https://www.daz3d.com/ej-demon-races-creator-and-morphs-for-genesis-8-females-and-males
and use strand hair for the body
I have Demon creator morph. Doesn't do the job.
Second, if you'd checked out the images you'd notice that the look I was suggesting doesn't have much in the way of extra body hair.
[Released] Character Converter from Genesis 8 Female to Genesis 3 Female - Conv JCMs too[Commercial]the first one was ChanelHD and then EsmeHD. And a bunch of my own custom G8F characters which were derived using the various morph packs(mostly Zev0 Morphs)
I don't have either of those. But looking at the pictures, neither of those should be giving you problems.
(BTW, if you are using the current process, e.g., "Use Legacy Conversion Process" is UNCHECKED, the tolerance matters a lot less. The current process does a better job for the majority of characters without having to fiddle with the tolerance, which is why it is the default. However, for some eyes, it is better to use the legacy process and fiddle with the tolerance.
The only thing I changed frome the default settings is the tolerence set to .001. I figured the tighter the tolerence the beter the conversion, but maybe I'm wrong.
Yes, the tighter tolerance is usually better. When you change the tolerance, are you deleting the old morphs? By default, morphs won't be overwritten so any changes to the tolerance won't matter. (BTW, Are you having a problem with the morphs or the textures?)
[Released] Ultimate Clothing Fixer Genesis 3 [Commercial]
Riversoft Art and SickleYield bring you the pinnacle of clothing fit that's fast, easy to use, and saves fixit morphs right into clothing!Where projection morphs require you to dial from the body of Genesis 3 and are limited to the figure shape, this product builds the morphs you choose from our list into a clothing piece right in your scene, then saves them so they can be used right from the clothes. Our innovative conformer-based morph solution also lets you add skirt morphs!
Not only that, but additional workflows also let you achieve "just for one scene" quick solutions if you don't want to save morphs in every clothing piece that needs clipping fixed. Our product comes documented with two enclosed video tutorials.
The videos show Genesis 8, but the procedure is identical.

Conform Clothes to Fixer Use
Face Transfer: weak sauceI was struggling to get anything worthwhile out of Face Transfer, so I thought I'd try an experiment; to give it the best chance of success I rendered a Daz3D character at 4000x5200 giving a nice high resolution source and allowing me to control the lighting, exposure, framing, etc., to eliminate as many potential issues as I could, then used that render as the source image for Face Transfer, and the results speak for themselves. The mouth is passable (lips are too thin, but the general shape is a reasonable match), but the rest of it is terrible: the head is completely the wrong size and shape, the nose isn't even close, the eyes are as generic as you can get, and the skin is really plastic looking.
If this is as good as it gets then it's a hard pass from me.
is there a Face Transfer threadAfter several hours experimenting, I have concluded that Face Transfer is largely a waste of time -- there's a difference between "simple and easy to use" and "dumbed down to the point of uselessness", and sadly this falls into the latter category. If your subject has nice smooth skin and a symmetrical face it may provide usable[1] results, but on pictures of real people with our skin imperfections, wrinkles, bumps, wonky noses, etc., the results are barely any better than if you just slapped your photo in as a texture and hoped for the best, and the lack of any tweaking means that if it didn't work first time you're pretty much out of luck.
[1] Usable in the sense of "doesn't look like a train wreck", not in the sense of "looks like the person in the photo" -- running a few famous faces through it generated a bunch of characters that looked like they were just really cheap lookalikes or maybe distant cousins of the subject.
is there a Face Transfer threadSorry if I missed it somewhere on the thread, but how are people getting the head shapes with face transfer? Every time I try It's like someone just peeled off the skin and slapped it onto the gen8 base model..Are you shaping the faces/heads manually? Or is face transfer supposed to be able to follow facial structure as well?
Actully face transfor will automatically structer the head morphs, though you have to choose a nice photo ( no Shadows or strong lighting )
it's simmilar to facegen - only face transfor will make it so easir to just copy and transfor it becouse it's pluging within daz it self
here is my first attemp to face transfer

the orignal photo

Right side, is a simple one click transfer
I had an iisue with the eyes and lips
On the Left side I've add a view things ( eyeleshes ,lips, some blushes )
and in poerpose function you will find a ( Face controler )

If you're not happy with the some structer, you can fix them
Note; this only work for G8 genration
but al in all, face transfor is really nice and easy to use.
