Jenni 8
If you think Jenni looks good, try her with almost any BJ character skin preset. I guarantee you will be blown away by the difference. I would bet money on BJ Murphy's skin looking absolutely stunning on Jenni. Her realistic skin with a little shadow under her eyes would be perfect for a busy soccer mom character. Seriously, I'd like to see someone post that combination here, I'm sure somebody here has Jenni and a few BJ characters in their runtime.
I'll give that a shot if I have time this evening, as I own all of BlueJaunte's characters and the skins on them are, indeed, excellent. However, wth the exception of Amala, they are all also either teens or younger adults and those skins clearly reflect that. Murphy does have some good weathering and discoloration on her legs, but there's no significant age spotting, flawless neck and chest, and no laugh or frown lines, so the end effect will be quite different.
You get weathering from normal maps. So the answer is to apply the Murphy preset, and simply replace Murphy's normal maps with Jenni's. You can dial the value above 1 as well. You can also apply the HD morph if you have it. You can do 1 of these, or both.
I do not have Jenni. So I will demonstrate this with one of Edie's add on characters, Dorothea. I did Edie as well, but her toony shape might throw people off. I think Dorothea shows this better anyway.
So here is Dorothea with Murphy's preset applied, and no further changes. Edie's HD morph is on and her subdivision is 3.

She does look nice, yes, but her skin may indeed look too smooth. So lets swap the normal maps like I described for Dorothea's. I dialed their value up to 2.

BANG! She looks completely different, and pretty darn amazing IMO. So try this with Jenni, and I guarantee you will be impressed.
Eh, here is a bonus pic of Edie, with Edie's normal maps applied just like above.

Looking good Edie! If I went without Edie's normals, she would actually look quite young!

Whoa, Edie as a younger gal. So you can see just what a difference the normal maps make. So make use of the normals you have.
Additionally, you could swap other textures back in for Jenni as well. You could try swapping the diffuse back in, it might be interesting. You edit the textures in photoshop and get rid of those moles. You can do all sorts of experimentation using BJ's girls as a foundation. It is really amazing just how versatile their skin textures and material settings are. And of course they are among the best around. I think Daz would do well to give bluejaunte a nice stack of cash for help on some future Daz Originals, if not outright buying a model for DO, perhaps try to learn his form of modeling wizardry and wield that power for greater good. So even if they do crank out legions of white girls, they will be new and improved white girls! LOL.
I am not joking. I truly believe that doing something like that could propel Daz Studio up quite a bit. I think more people would notice what Daz is selling and doing, and it could attract a new base of customers. If they are done right, even the more snobby 3D modelers would take notice. The Daz Original lineup IMO should be the best of what Daz can offer.
Strange Hair deformationIs the character shorter? It may be failing to project the morph into the hair areas thata re more distant from the base sahpe. In general it's often better not to AutoFit - you can either use Edit>SceneID to make the hair directly compatible with Genesis 8 Female (I assume the 6 was a typo) or you can simply parent the hair to the head.
She is shorter and I transfered it by exactly the method you are suggesting. I even did a skeletal transfer And 6 was a typo. She's Gen8
I followed the standard tutorial to transfer the Selena hair from G3 to G6

I did. I use that technique extensively.
Vertigo ponytail doesn’t properly scale with the figure, meaning that if you shorten the character it’s on, the actual ponytail will just be floating in space, so it’s possible that this is just a failing of the particular hair you’re using. Have you experienced the same issue with other hairs?
It's probably the same issue because I've never had a problem like this before.

4-Armed Alien! There did used to be a product availble, Four Arms For Genesis, but it doesn't appear to be availble anymore.
http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/14259/start
I bought it when It came out. It was fun to play with, but there was almost no support, except for a few of RawArt's figures. They don't seem to be in the store anymore either.

I realize it's impossible to support every morph that was made for Genesis, but it would have been nice to have supported the morphs from Creature Creator that affected the arms and hands. I'm sure this was a niche product.
The big problem with RawArt's 4 armed character were the UV's; you could only use the skin that came with it and there was no easy way to manually edit a texture for it since vendors of textures don't add extra arms.
The skins for BarSoomian and Triclops worked fine on Genesis, even without using the character morphs, or even without the four arms graft. The UV for Four Arms was close to the V4 UV; I had good luck using a lot of skins with that UV on four-armed characters. Some didn't work as well as others, but often a little postwork, or careful positioning of the character, can hide texture weirdness.
I think that was the barrier: a lot of customers just want to apply a texture or a pose and render.... Nothing was unsurmountable but it was just fiddly enough to be a dead end....
[ANSWERED] Iray - Do PICe lanes matter once the scene is loaded into a graphics card?Gut check on my understanding...
During an Iray render, a "scene" is sent to the graphics card for processing by the GPU. The scene consists of geometries, textures etc. I will be replacing a 10 year old mother board in the near future. I currently use 2 Evga 1080TI's for rendering. Initially, I assumed that all LGA 1151 boards operate in a x16/x8 or x8/x8 configuration when two cards are installed. However, I did find exactly one LGA 1151 board that operates in a x16/x16 configuration with two cards.
So nuts n bolts question, outside of scene transfer time, is anyone able to speak for the impact of available PCIe lanes on render time? My assumption is that the difference isn't big since the bulk of the data is transfered when the scene is sent to the card, but that's just my gut and realize there may be more to this than meets the eye.

Matt Castle does some stuffTesting some of the shaping styles and embellishments. This is the high leg morph, the fuller cup morph (along with some other tweaking morphs to move the top corners down and out), along with some frills and (one of the) bow addons, at which point it transforms quite nicely into a fancier set.
This is one of the fairly powerful things I'm finding about dForce; Conventional rigging rather limits clothing shaping morphs (part of the issue with my original approach of reshaping existing meshes). Because the mesh keeps the same rigging even if it's moved, it doesn't move correctly in unison with the figure if it's too heavily morphed (even with smoothing modifiers trying to help out).
With dForce, that's no longer a limitation, and while things like not completely distorting the mesh and textures are still important, shaping morphs are much more feasible and the one mesh can theoretically be very versatile.
I know some people are staunchly opposed to dForce, but things like this aren't feasible with solely conforming rigging.
Beak geographJust create an accompanying head morph with big eyes and eyebrows. Those can do the heavy lifting of emoting while the beak stays mostly still. An extra long tongue might be a good idea, too.
Head distortions in FBX exportIn further detail after some experimenting, when I export my model from DAZ 3D, during the export process, the head becomes giant and falls out of place. It winds up that way no matter what program I open it in afterward (Blender, 3DS MAX). I did find a solution for that problem. If I export the character model as an OBJ, then the head doesn't turn giant and fall out of place. However, another problem occured. I need to replace my character model's head with another one once I get it into Blender. The only way I know how to do this is by using the Transfer Object Data method, which is where the problem comes in. When I do that, it changes the location and rotation, which causes the head to no longer be lined up with the rest of the model. Why is this happening and how can I fix it?My phone will not charge complaint threadMy frustration is that I can't be as tall and handsome as Jason Momoa.
Well, given todays medical technology you might be able to achieve it at great effort, great expense and great pain. And risk end up looking like a battered, scarred and torn sock monkey.
There are shocking TV shows about people who have tried that route and failed miserably.Personally though, I'd go for Dwane (The Rock) Johnson.

Would be nice if I could be placed inside DAZ Studio and someone could dial all the numbers that would make me Mr World-Class Handsome.
Dwayne's not bad, but I kinda prefer someone with facial hair.
....wouldn't mind a bit of the "Youth Morph" from Zev0's Growing Up Morphs dialed in on me.
Mountains and HillsToday's mountain uses a double simulation around a cone. The first scatter with larger spheres created the basic shape. That was saved out as a morph. Then a second scatter with smaller spheres scattered on the morphed plane gave more variation to the mountain form.

Fit Control Add-On (Commercial)Hi. I am a bit confused here. No G3 scripts work on G8. What Fit Control products do you have? And what figure are you trying to use it on? Can I see a screenshot?Sorry if my post was not clear, I'm still new to DazStudio. I bought two separate FitControl Bundles: (1) Fit Control for Genesis and Genesis 2 Female(s) and Male(s) as well as (2) Fit Control Add-On for Genesis 3 and 8 Female and Male.
I think that's probably your problem right there. You bought the "base product" "Fit Control for G and G2", and the "add-on expansion" for the "Fit Control for G3 and G8" version. You don't have the "base product" "Fit Control for G3 and G8" that is required to use the add-on you bought.
The Add-On - Expansion adds more morph sets to the base product for certain generations. It does not extend functionality to other generations of figures.
In other words, look at this product page: https://www.daz3d.com/fit-control-add-on-for-genesis-3-and-8-bundle
Under "Required Products" are all of them marked "(owned)" ?
What features would you like to see appear in dazstudio 5?When saving poses it is annoying to constantly uncheck the same things, I would like to be able to create a preference do that those same settings are constantly unchecked.
Have a look at the first few entreis under http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/scripting/api_reference/samples/start#save_filters
Also an easier way to disable content saved as poses when it is not or to remove morphs improperly saved by the pa. For example there have been recently about 6 products with content saved as body morphs or pose sets which were done wrong. It would be great to get rid of that since for example I do not need raw arts orc tusks to load at zero with my figures. Nor do I need hell ambassadors head morph to be saved with poses.
Communicating these bugs to tech support is very difficult and they don't get fixed so I end up uninstalling them. I would like a better way to disable morphs which are saved wrong to all my characters using the software since bug reports do not work well and I would like to use my purchases.

4-Armed Alien!Attached is my version of G8F 4-arms, static props ready to be geographed again. I deleted the ones I had already geographed because the rigging didn't work and thought that I needed to rig before making it a geograph, but that didn't work either.
My rigging consisted of attempting to transfer the rigging from G8F to the arms in various ways, but all ended in failure due to the arms being in a new location I think.
I can't share the actual arm geometry since they are actual G8F arms with a couple added polys to connect the arms to the new location on the G8 figure for geographing.

There is no problem whatsoever using Fit Control on G/G2/G3 figures, since there are icons named "Fit Control Activate Genesis Morphs" / "Fit Control Activate G2M Morphs" / "Fit Control Activate Female Morphs" available in the "Smart Control" tab. I also found a "Fit Control UI" folder in my Content Library under People>Genesis 3 Female (Male)>Clothing, where several "Add Morphs To Item" scripts can be found. But these unfortunately do not turn up in the "Smart Control" tab.
For G8 figures I am still trying to find any scripts/morphs that I can apply. There's a folder named "Fit Control" in my Content Library under People>Genesis 8 Female (Male)>Clothing, but it only contains one script "Add-On Product Support" that contains a link to this forum. That's why I desperately tried to use the G3 scripts on G8 figures.
So basically my question is: Where do I find the "Activate G8 Morphs" or "Add Morph to G8" shapes/scripts that I need to use your product on G8M and G8F figures? I naïvely expected them to turn up in my "Smart Control" tab whenever a G8 figure is active and "Filter by Context" is marked.
