GenX2 and Genesis 2 AddOn released! [Commercial]Melissa Conway said:Mari-Anne said:Melissa Conway said:Well, here I am again requesting a step-by-step Tutorial for Dummies. I bought Genesis Generation X2 and the GenX2 add-on for Genesis first thing this morning and have read both manuals from beginning to end and then some, and I’ve read over this thread, and yet I am unable to suss out how to do what I want to do. Which is: transfer the Michael 4 character Rafael to G2M. I own V4 and M4 Shapes for Genesis (if that matters, and I think it does). So far in the many experiments I’ve conducted over the course of the day, I’ve only been able to transfer Genesis morphs to G2M.
Anyway, I’m at a loss and could really use that step-by-step…
Thanks.
M.
P.S.: in the product description for Genesis Generation 2, the links to the product pages for Gen 4 Legacy shapes and V4 and M4 shapes are mixed up (each link goes to the other product’s page).
Hi Melissa - if this will help, you can substitute Rafael & G2M where I use A Little Love & G2F as necessary & use these steps that I ran by Dimension 3D:
1. Open D|S and Load V4 via Power loader2. Load A Little Love - Body & Face
3. Save A Little Love as a CR2 file
4. Open GenX2 and Load A Little Love.CR2
5. Select BODY, CHEST, LHAND, RHAND, but only ALLHEAD under Head
6. Right-Click and click All > Transfer ON
7. Click Transfer (use Create Single Morph)
8. Name Morph and click Accept
9. Close and re-open Daz Studio
10. Load G2Female
11. Set Parameter to V4 = 1
12. Set Parameter to A Little Love = 1
To which Ralf added the following comments:1. Usually, it should work to load the base V4 in GenX and then use morph injection poses to add all necessary morphs.
6. "Transfer: On for non-zero values" should select all morphs used in a character.
9. It should be enough to start a new scene. And even this should be only necessary, if the figure you created new morphs for was loaded in the scene.
Maybe that's where I went wrong...I don't know how to save as a CR2 file. I go to File/Save as and I'm given several options, all of which seem to save as a .duf file...
Click on File > Export instead of File > Save. Then create a new folder under My DAZ 3D Library > Runtime > libraries > Character
That should do the trick.

Also the Property editor is now Property HierarchyYou can use the ExP exporter for the fourth generation figures.
Coming back to this, I found I can GOZ M4 in Daz and out of Zbrush just fine and create a morph no problem I just cant save it as a morph asset.
But following your suggestion to use a Genesis model I cannot Goz back into Daz from Zbrush without an error...

Basic UV and Materials QuestionsGenesis can use the fourth generation textures by default, Genesis 2 requires the add-on V4 for G2F or M4 for G2M set to use Victoria 4 or Michael 4 textures respectively (there's no support for using Kids 4 textures). The main benefit is that you can use textures that you like which don't have an equivalent using the native mapping. Clothes can also be AutoFitted, with varying degrees of success, in the same way (and there are products to enable the use of clothing from the third generation figures on Genesis, but not textures other than by using Texture converter 2 to convert them to fourth generation maps). Morphs can be converted between generations using GenX 2 and the appropriate add-on.
Yes, applying one set of materials will overwrite the existing, and usually applying a morph pose will zero the existing settings.

Also the Property editor is now Property HierarchyRight thanks, probably should use this instead for just saving a morph http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/userguide/creating_content/packaging/tutorials/saving_morphs/start
however in following these instructions in order I am running into the first error. Then trying to save as called out leads to this error.
The introductions dont mention that you would need to do either in order to create a simple morph
Any help would be appreciated..

The 66% upgrade pricing for Genesis Generation X2 will end on August 15th, 2014. If you own version 1 of Genesis Generation X and intend to get version 2, please do so before the upgrade coupon expires on August 15th, 2014.
======================
Update on March 20, 2014:
Version 2.0.1.0 of Genesis Generation X2 is now available for download in the Product Library and DIM. It is highly recommended to install this update. It fixes the possible crash and the file read problem that were reported in the forum. In addition, it has new morph list search options for groups and values (including search for non-zero values). See the updated manual for more details about the update.
======================
Genesis Generation X2 (or short GenX2) - the new version of the morph transfer plugin for DAZ Studio - has been released to the DAZ 3D store. In addition, the GenX2 AddOn for Genesis 2 is also available now to extend GenX2 for transferring morphs to, from, and between Genesis 2 Female and Male. Finally, all existing add-ons for Genesis Generation X have been updated and improved to work with GenX2.
You will find the new products in the DAZ 3D store here:
* Genesis Generation X2
* GenX2 AddOn for Genesis 2Both products have an introductory discount of 20% off. (Because it's March Madness, you get twice the introductory discount than it was for the initial version.)
Customers who own the previous version of Genesis Generation X (either full version or upgrade from Gen4), will get a coupon for an additional 66% off automatically at check out, resulting in 72.8% off together with introductory pricing.
The manuals for both products can be downloaded from my web site:
* Genesis Generation X2
* GenX2 AddOn for Genesis 2
(The pages in the DAZ Documentation Wiki seem to be missing at the moment.)****************************************
Genesis Generation X2 offers the following features:
* Morph transfer from legacy figures (Poser) to TriAx figures (Genesis)
* NEW Morph transfer between different versions of Genesis
* NEW Direct morph transfer between morph-compatible versions of Genesis (including HD morphs)
* NEW Morph transfer from morph-compatible Poser figures without clone morph
* NEW Clone morphs are turned into full working full body and head only morphs with adjusted joints if required
* Translation of morph poses and expressions (Poser format) into shaping presets for transferred morphs
* NEW Translation of shaping and properties presets (DSON format) into shaping presets for transferred morphs
* Different transfer modes for separate morphs, merged morph, presets, and controllers
* NEW Improved transfer quality
* NEW Automatic corrections for differences in rigging
* Included support for generation 4 figures (Victoria 4, Michael 4, Kids 4) and Genesis (version 1)
* Support for additional figures by add-ons sold separately
* NEW Support for Genesis 2 Female and Male (requires GenX2 AddOn for Genesis 2)****************************************
GenX2 AddOn for Genesis 2 offers the following features:
* Morph transfer from Genesis to Genesis 2 Female or Male
* Morph transfer from Genesis 2 Female or Male to Genesis
* Morph conversion from Genesis 2 Female to Male and vice versa (includes HD morphs)
* Morph transfer from Victoria 4, Michael 4, and Kids 4 to Genesis 2 Female or Male
* Morph transfer from generation 3 figures to Genesis 2 Female or Male (requires separate add-ons)Morphs transferred from Victoria 4 or Michael 4 will work with any of the following base shapes:
* V4 morph in Generation 4 Legacy Shapes for Genesis 2 Female(s) by Slosh
* M4 morph in Generation 4 Legacy Shapes for Genesis 2 Male(s) by Slosh
* V4 and M4 morphs in V4 and M4 Shapes for Genesis transferred from Genesis to Genesis 2
* V4 and M4 clone morphs auto-converted by GenX2
* Michael 4 for Genesis 2 Male by Slosh (should work, but I haven't tested)
* Victoria 4 for Genesis 2 Female by MallenLane (should work, but I haven't tested)Note: To transfer morphs from Poser figures to Genesis 2, Genesis 1 has to be installed as well, because the clone morphs are available for Genesis 1 only.
Note: To use V4 or M4 textures with Genesis 2, you need an according UV mapping. To apply material poses or scripts for V4 or M4 to Genesis 2, you need to adjust the material names, which can be done with my free script Generation 4 to Genesis 2 Material Converter.
****************************************
Still available are the following add-ons for Genesis Generation X:
* GenX AddOn Gen3 for V3 and M3
* GenX AddOn Gen3 for S3 D3 and F3
* GenX AddOn Gen3 for A3 and H3
* GenX AddOn Gen3 BundleThese add-ons have been updated to work with GenX2. In conjunction with the GenX2 AddOn for Genesis 2, they also support morph transfer to Genesis 2 Female and Male. (The old version for GenX1 is still available as part of the download.)
****************************************
Owners of Genesis Generation X, please consider the following:
* You get a coupon for a reduced price of Genesis Generation X2.
* The old serial number will still work.
* It is not possible to run version 1 and version 2 of Genesis Generation X at the same time.
* It is highly recommended to uninstall the old version of Genesis Generation X before installing Genesis Generation X2.
* The generation 3 add-ons for GenX have been updated. Download and install the GenX2 version of these add-ons to work with GenX2.
* Because of improvements in morph transfer, there may be incompatibilities between already transferred morphs and newly transferred morphs. (This holds for morphs with conditional morphs and with automated joint adjustments. Morphs transferred with "create single morph" are not affected.)****************************************
Finally, I'm working on GenX2 add-ons for the following figures:
* Generation 3 Kids: Luke, Laura, Matt, Maddison (requires V3 and M3 Shapes for Genesis)
* Sam and Sadie by 3D Universe (requires Sadie and Sam for Genesis)
* Mavka by smay (requires Mavka for Genesis)If you like, vote in the poll, which one you want to be released first.
Bruise packs?The set was done for Victoria and Michael 4 and 4096 x 4096 texture maps weren't as common as they are now (they were named "elite" back then). There is a high resolution section on this set geared towards "elite" textures.
I have to specify the upcoming "update" is not a free update. Just like Wet Body and Wet Body Gen 5, the product is being updated as a new product for Generation 6. Going to a different set of UVs and in this case resolution (in some areas) means as much work as the first time, just (perhaps) less research work. Sorry if I've caused confusion about this.
content library issues with DAZ 4I did have a few issues in DAZ 3 with getting stuff to show up in the library, and it took a while to organize. But in DAZ 4, the content library is atrociously unorganized. I cant seem to organize anything because i cant drag and drop files in the library, and when i install a new model, it appears scattered around. Like for instance, i install a model, and its morphs and poses appear in the Daz studio formats section, but then i gotta dig through the Categories section just to find the main model itself. I actually put up the directory within the Daz studio formats section to be set to My Daz 3D Library.
At least the genesis figures are organized there, but when i installed the African Elephant it appeared burried within the Categories section. The elephant appeared within a folder named default, then from there it was in a folder called figure, than thats where i found the animal folder, then in the folder called land, thats where i found the elephant. So i had to dig, which was ridiculous. Because i cant drag and drop anymore in DAZ 4, i couldnt put the elephant in the animal folder that was already in the Daz Studio Formats section. I installed the Michael 4 and i had the same problem, only this time the main model didnt work for some reason. I dont know what this issue is, but DAZ 4 has made it impossible to organize. I install a model, and it gets scattered around the library, burried in random places. Its very irritating to go around and find stuff. I remember being able to organize easily in past DAZ studio versions, even in old poser i was able to easily organize, but now i cant do that. Can anyone help me out with this? Or should i get another 3D program that allows me to organize stuff in the library more easily with simple drag and drop?Urgh !!!mikechristia said:There are no separate horns to purchase.These sets have horns, legs, and tails.

As always, figure set-up in DAZ Studio 4.6 and final render in Bryce 7. Several of the items used here were untextured or dependent on Poser shaders for colors and effects. In these cases the models were either retextured in Bryce using .jpg images or using the Metal Shaders for Bryce given in the link above.
All 3DS format items converted to .obj format for import into Studio by using PoserRay, available at PoserRay Converts Lightwave and 3DS files into easy to use .OBJ format files. Free and easy to use.
As usual, you're raising the bar, LG... And that's one Bad cowboy hat. ;)The Rendo link you gave for Bonnie redirects to http://www.sharecg.com/v/23363/poser/Bonnie-For-DazV4.1-and-Morphs++ - you might want to replace that one in your list. But that's a quibble, not a problem.

http://www.renderosity.com/mod/freestuff/details.php?item_id=72972Welcome to the March 2014 Freebie Challenge: Just Like the GrownupsDanaTA said:nitehawk_ltd said:SheZow - Your friendly neighborhood Pre-teen super hero.This is based on a Australian TV show about a 12 year old boy named Guy Hamdon, who becomes a superhero when he puts on his late Aunt Agnes' magic ring. There's just one small (well, huge) problem- he turns into a FEMALE superhero named SheZow, much to the amusement of his (presumably) twin sister Kelly. To make matters worse, by putting on the ring he has chosen to be SheZow, and it cannot be removed. While the power ring does grant him super powers, it was only meant to be worn by a woman, so Guy must wear a female superhero costume.
With the help of his sister, and best friend Maz, he protects the city of Megadale from super villains and criminals.Nicely done! What a novel concept! I guess there are some fresh ideas out there.

No Count: Genesis Base Figure.
Purchased Rough M4 figure but wont show up on DAZ 4.6proOK, so you need to gring M4 into the scene and then apply the character pack to him. It is a morph pack only, so should appear in poser formats / poses
It does say :- Required Products:
Michael 4 Morphs++
Michael 4 Muscle MorphsSo it probably won't work too well, if it works at all, without those

You must update the poser (SR3.1 or SR3.2)?
Because without these updates, M4, Kids4 ... still works ... But genesis, M5 does not work, poser will crash
Amazing that, I'm sorry about your problem ... Anyway, I would check the update?
make sure you have the latest for PP2012
sr3.2
I did not understand ... your reinstall the backup mode, impaired genesis ...?
So ... you have the zip of the update RS3.1?
the installation of sr3.1 makes genesis back to work normally ...
But you could download the last update SR3.2 ...My Poser Pro 2012 crashes with talk designerI have the sr3.1, but now I'm worst that the begining, because reinstalling the program caused me I have problems with the genesis figures (which I had installed without problems) Anyway I decided once I finish my project I'll get the poser 2014, I hope I don't problems with that, I really hope so!
