Making image cards for expression sliders
I've added the parameter icons by loading the morph dsf file in a text editor and add the path to the icon in the "icon_large" property. If there is no icon set it looks like this: "icon_large" : ""
Just insert the path to the icon between the " and ".
Look at parameter dials that have a parameter icon set for examples.
Anilip and Amazon AWS do I need a subscription????I bought Anilip-2 on steep sale recently and the AWS is for additional [text to speech] voices. Windows or the plugin comes with 2 "robotic" narrator voices David and Zira. It reads the text you typed once and saves the animation in the timeline. You can save that T2S voice as a wav if you want.
You can opptionally tweak the timing and slightly adjust the strength on the visime frames, and add additional voice over later.
Easier use is useing a prerecorded wav file added to timeline with help from Animate 2 and then making small adjustments to that sync'd animation if needed. The visemes seem to have a little oddities or limitations when it comes to english P's and B's though where a strong PUH or BUH sound is used as IMO the cheeks dont inflate enough and the lips dont "duck" out enough. Sometimes you can trick T2S animations with tricks like "Poosh" instead of "Push". Even if was quick and dirty dummy mouth animations its a huge time saver over morph animating every sylable manually.
Havent tried it Mic'd yet to see if I can get better results or perhaps even add new viseme morphs.
You do need to activate the serial on this plugin though, and remember to unlock limits on face bones as suggested for best results.
What is the name of this character? It doesn't have one. It's a generic base skin for use by creators to make their own characters, so that exact skin isn't duplicated elsewhere. As to the morph shapes used in the promo... it looks pretty similar to a lot of that artist's commercial characters...my take is that it's a less defined variant of Leony https://www.daz3d.com/leony-hd-for-victoria-8
Genesis 8 Female weird face lookingHi
thanks for your reply
i did what you told me and the aiko 8 parameter sitting was at defualt 100% and changed to 0% but nothing happen , also i have this problem at all the genesis 8 and genesis 3 female character not just aiko 8.
aiko 8 was just example of the problelm .
i think it just like one Morph that effect all the characters but i just can't find out which one
do you have another idea ?
thanks everyoneHi - it would have been easier to help if you had shown your problem with the pure Genesis 8 female, not with Aiko 8 - so there was a bit confusion what you meaned as a problem at all. But I recognise these lips - it's Erevan Airy. https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/4946356/#Comment_4946356 / https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/4836091/#Comment_4836091
And indeed it is in your logfile, too:
2019-11-24 19:05:30.587 Loaded file: FHMErevan Airy.dsf
You can manually solve the problem if you search in the parameter tab for "Erevan" (to your surprise it will be there with 100; even it is not shown under "currently used") and set it to 0; or you can edit the .dsf-File, or you can delete the Erevan Airy character - or maybe there is finally an update which corrects the error.
A few to viewVery nice marble
Thank you :) It occurred to me that this one has something of the Susan Sarandon look too. Not deliberate - maybe Freudian?
I think all of these characters are great! Pardon the noob question but how does one 'mix' characters?
ANYONE??
Sorry, I lost track of this thread.
If you mean what I think you mean (and you have probably figured it out by now) it is just a matter of going to the parameter dials, click on Actor and then People. There will be a list of all of the characters that you can "mix" in with the one that is selected in the scene. Theres also parameters for body shape, face shape, limbs, etc. Especially if you have some morph sets to enhance your base characters. I buy those sets so that I don't have to buy lots of pre-made characters. I like to dial in (mix) my own.
For example, Here's my combination of Victoria 8 and a Grandmother 8 character - I think she's a lovely mature lady.
It's not exactly raining men....If you're trying to build a world, and you want your main characters to look convincing in closeups, and you don't want them to look like they came from two sisters who married two brothers, then you need actual diversity. But Daz evidently can't make enough money selling diversity. They need indeterminate-to-teenaged white women to make money. And only a certain type of teenaged white woman at that. However, it seems that Daz has discovered that older white women sell comparatively well too.
Yet, by increasing their output of Core figures, they have managed to give us the most diversity we've ever had in one generation as well as a plethora of teenaged-to-middleaged white women to move their bottom line. I'd really like an additional three or four well-made, exqisitely skinned men in this generation, but it looks like the men are getting smooth-faced (Silas, Diego, Sanjay). I still can't suss Elios' skin.
For clothing, buy all of Luthbel and as much of IHKang and Mada as you can. Mada's sci-fi/adventure gear for men works/looks great when stripped down to shirt and pants for everyday wear, and she supplies morphs where we need them. Luthbel's Genesis 2 and 3 stuff autofits exceedingly well, and if---underneath the clothes---you morph a Genesis 8 Base male body for the shape you want (rather than using a shape that's going to cause pec hug or some other artifact), then your results will be even more lifelike.
I'm telling you, things look pretty good for men around here. Unless you compare them to females. Don't do it: Apples and oranges. Compare Genesis 8 Males to Genesis 3 and 2 Males, and you'll get a truer perspective. Genesis 2 had 3 superlative skins (Darius, Gianni, Michael), but there were only 6 of them. Genesis 3 had 5 superlative skins (Kimo, Michael, Lee, Darius, Elijah), but there were only thirteen of them.
Genesis 8 has 10 superlative skins (Nix, Floyd, Ollie, Vladimir, Michael, Edward, Christian, Darius, Mr Woo, Owen) and most of the others are decent (if you edit their SSS maps). But we've got 20 well-done morphs and skins to work with (19 if you don't count Lucas, which I can understand if you don't). And this is basically due to Daz affirmative action, since they make half as much or less off the male releases.
We're not doing too badly in Genesis 8, and all the guys from Genesis 3 still work just fine next to their younger brethren. But just look at them.
XTransfer Module 1- Genesis 3 to Genesis 8 Morph Converter (Commercial)I installed XTransfer yesterday and after doing one morph, DAZ studio (both 4.12 and it's beta) would suddenly close (crash) while loading any G8M figure. Today I went ahead and renamed the folder where morph was at, along with another product "Character Converter from G3M to G8M" since that was also causing the figures to take a long time to load. I then uninstalled and installed both of the Daz Studios, and now after two minutes or so, the G8M figure loads but it is deformed (see attached). Is there a way to fix this? I already submitted a ticket yesterday, but now being able to load it all deformed is new.
Thank you in advanced.
Sheaths?Just bought it. Works great and looks great, with every body shape morph I tried. Even the orc with the big muscles.

Thanks for the support, and I'm glad you like it!
Tim
What do you wish was more popular?I'd really like a ponytail for female characters which is attached at the base, rather than half the way up the rear of the head, but without fashionable accessories attached to it, so that it could be used for female military characters. Especially if the length could be morphed to different lengths.
Been really waiting for something like this, hair all drawn tightly back for one (military) G8F character and tail low down, and for another G8F character a hair roughly like the old Midnight Prince Hair but to modern hair standards (tied into a tail at the nape of the neck, but with long bangs framing the face)..
And some other wants:
For PAs making boots/shoes/trainers/hiking boots etc with laces to actually finish the laces off, not just have them mysteriously vanish at the top (which automatically stops me buying them, whereas I will often buy a whole clothing set just for good footwear I want). With a morph for the laces tied and untied would be good.
Female fantasy and sci-fo outfits that are otherwise reasonable 'action' outfits to come with practical footwear instead of or as well as the ridiculous spike heeled boots many come with. (Long spike heels or platform boots and no practical footwear = lost sale to me.)
Practical female fantasy/historical adventure outfits that do not have a bare abdomen (the most feared wound was a belly wound that almost always meant dying slowly and in agony from peritonitis before modern medicine and antibiotics - if you could only have one piece of protection it was for the abdomen) but that ALSO don't involve a corset.
A decent female leather motorcycle jacket that can be opened and closed but which comes down below her pants belt rather than stopping halfway or all the way to her diaphragm. (Honestly, there are many female motorcycle jackets, but they are ALL short apart from one that doesn't open ... and the matching open one from the same PA barely comes down to her sternum. Grrrr.)
Leather jackets, both male and female, with POCKETS. Just the angled slit type is fine. There are a ridiculous number of jackets with no pockets = automatic no sale to me.
Some relaxed, comfy, jeans for G8F to go with the current large number of spray-on skin-tight ones.
A historical/fantasy type sleeveless, below hip, open fronted leather jerkin, for both male and female figures, that just hangs loose and open and does NOT have a wide sash and two leather belts over it tying it closed the way all the ones for all the figures currently in the store do.
A snow leopard for the DAZ Big Cat 2.
As others have asked for, some proper military uniforms with all associated gear for both male and female figures - like the old D3D ACU and ICE expansion packs and the matching Marine Corps ones for M4 and V4, but they are very low poly and low rez. Like that, but for G8F and G8M and higher detail.
A good, detailed AKMS (that's the one with the underfolding wire stock) and AK74M (with sidefolding stock). Every Kalashnikov making PA makes AK47s, but virtually all the AKs one actually sees on the news or in films and TV shows that aren't modern AK74s are actually AKMs, not AK47s (they stopped making the AK47 and switched to the AKM in 1959), and I reckon I've seen far more AKMS with the underfolding buttstock than fixed stock ones. There is, finally, an AK47S is that gunshop package, but it's a low detail small part of a big pack AND it's an AK47S, not AKMS. Will somebody, anybody PLEASE make a decent AKMS - THE most commonly seen 'Kalashnikov' variant on small or big screen.
And my biggest gripe, the thing in the DAZ store that has me tearing more of my remaining hair out at than anything else - can we PLEASE have some sci-fi weapons where the creator has learnt at least a little about and thought at least a little about what makes a practical weapon. I mean I know Star Trek from the movies and TNG on has ridiculous, unusable weapons (oddly TOS phasers actually have a weapon sight system, although in the whole run of episodes it was only glimpsed deployed in two scenes, but still if you added a trigger guard to the type 2 TOS phaser it is the only phaser design that someone could actually fire accurately), but come on - PLEASE give us a choice of weapons that are actually believably usable (given functioning caseless ammo or gauss/laser/blaster/disrupter/whatever tech). Currently most of the pistol/rifle type scifi weapons in the store are just truly awful. Many are severely un-ergonomic, with grips at very wrong angles (clue - modern handguns have he grips at the angle they do for serious ergonomic reasons that will not change just because it is a scifi setting (unless you are going to presume, and appropriately morph the DAZ figures' hands to reflect, evolutionary or genetic engineered change in human hand shape), and often just hard edged grips that would be terrible to hold (whereas the current move is towards molded ergonomic grips). And the weapons need some kind of SIGHTING system - so will the PA who keeps sticking power pack/bottles ON TOP of the weapon body please STOP because they are right in the way of even adding a sight onto the weapons. And ... just a bit of basic thought about how the weapon is supposed to work, PLEASE. The one that really takes the biscuit is the short but large calibre automatic pistol in one sci-fi pistol pack where the magazine is in front of the trigger guard ... with the front of the magazine flush with the front of the barrel ... so that a round feeding up from the magazine pops into the FRONT of the (tiny) barrel, with no breech in front of it to feed into, and no barrel to accelerate down as the front of the bullet is already at the front of the barrel! Sheesh. Look, if you are a PA making firearms, even - especially - scifi firearms, please either learn the basics of firearm design and why things are the way they are, or consult with someone who knows. (I'm happy to critique weapon design for the price of a free one when it's done.) It doesn't matter what weird thing the weapon is supposed to fire, human anatomy requires certain things of handguns and shoulder arms for a human to actually be able to hit anything with them. And if it has cartridges and bullets, the round has to be able to get from the magazine into a breech and still have a barrel to accelerate down, and ditto gauss/rail guns.
Endlessly ongoing... playing cards/casino chips/coins/banknotes scatter... hiatus time (still)I remember that - one of the best card games ever invented (along with "cheat") !
I've also modified the thread title slightly.

(Edit 6am UTC Sat 7 Dec) Of course, I'd forgotten that adding separate randomish x and z rotation morphs is fine, as long as you don't want to combine them or use any morph values other than exactly 100%.It's the old 'using linear morphs to create rotations' thing.
So useless really for my 54 card pickup deck.
Maybe I'll have to do a (couple of) 'Randomish Rotations' morphs that each include randomish x, y, and z rotations of each card. Morphs to be used at 100% only. Separate x, y, and z translation morphs would then be fine for adding extra randomish-looking-ness.XTransfer Module 1- Genesis 3 to Genesis 8 Morph Converter (Commercial)Can I see a screenshot of your genesis 8, and also what is being used morph wise via the currently used option? Deleting the Xtransfer folder removes it completely off your G8, so if something is left behind as you describe I need to see.
PM sent.
G8M Figure loads deformedYou are probably better off asking in Zev0's commercial thread: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/341526/xtransfer-commercial/p1
However, the temporary solution is to get rid of the XTransfer morphs folder, wherever you have put it. There looks to be an update on the way, as several people (including me) are working testing updates that Zev0 is developing. I had very similar problems to yours, and with the latest Beta of the updated XTransfer file, I can transfer morphs cleanly.

Making image cards for expression slidersI am planning on making icon cards for all the expression sliders that are lacking them. Do I have to go through and link them one by one with the property panel, or will just putting them in the same folder and named the same as the morph do it?
A workflow tip for anyone that gets here VIA Google:
Adding cards to a pose slider set:1)Create your slider cards at 147 x 185 px in .png format
2)Place all the cards in the same folder as the morph files, and name them so you know which card is for which morph
3)Click on the gear icon by the slider you wish to add a card to, and go to parameter settings. Click on the the dropdown next to card and go to browse.
4)On the first card you place, browse to the proper location
5)Once at the location, double click on the browser address bar, copy the path
6)Select the proper card for the slider and hit accept
7)For all the rest of those cards, instead of having to click through a bajillion folders again(some reson DS don't remember last directory in this context), double click address in browser and paste, it should bring you back to the right folder so you can select the card you want to link. You can resize the window to fit all of the cards, DS should remember that change and keep opening up big windows. Also, if you have to copy something else in the middle of the process, you can go to the previously done slider, and click on browse there to recopy the proper location.
8)When set is done, go to File > save as > support asset > save modified assets to lock in the save
9)Navigate to the folder the morphs are kept in inside the data folder. Copy the "icon_large" line from the morph to the alias and save the alias. If you can't open the morph and or the alias, you have to use the batch convert tool found in the windows > panes menu in DS.
A quicker and easier way is to use DSF toolbox to just edit the icon into the alias and bypass the part about editing the parameter in daz studio. It will fill the icon out correctly for you, it seems it only needs to be in the alias to show up.Darcy 8
I wasn't going to pick this bundle up as I've been way more interested in toon and anime like images in lieu of realistic looking figures, but this image mixed with Kaneda sold me on the figure and so I might as well get the bundle to fill in the other Kaneda morphs I'm missing. Great stuff!Diva's hair is absolutely awesome and Darcy's morph is incredible!!! I've been dying for her to be released so we can show the love! Some characters are just so fun to work with and Darcy's base shape was very detailed and well crafted it was impossible not to work with her... Made some of my most over favorite promos with her :) Siya has customized 3DL mats as well....
And this is just combining Siya/Darcy with a bit of Kanade because its cute
hexagon morphsUsing the Bridge in both directions should have avoided scaling issues. Was the figure posed and/or morphed when you sent it across to Hexagon?
it was morphed. tried it now with an unmorphed figure and it worked. so i guess the morphs that i used in daz were also save in that new morph and when i use the slider it applies everything twice. is there a way how i can send a morphed figure to hexagon and then make sure that only the morph i created in hexagon is transfered back to daz?
Problems Installing Plugins - VWD bridge, HD Morph, GMICCongrats, Philemo!!!!! Such great reasons to be away from Carrara.
I did the test with the primitive sphere. The menu option for your HD Morph is there in the modifiers tab, but I get an error message when applying it to the primitive sphere.
XTransfer Module 1- Genesis 3 to Genesis 8 Morph Converter (Commercial)You are a genius and your script awesome!
Here Mabel8 on a G3F garment, Pletaix by Powerage, with and without the Pose Control morph. I injected the morph that comes with the pantie over the G3F base and XTransfered
It's not exactly raining men....It bugs, but yelling about it does little and becoming bitter about it helps no one.
(Not that I'm accusing the OP or anyone specifically of being bitter... I'm just sayin')I've made my peace with it. And to be honest, while there is far less male content out there than female content, there's still a lot to play around with! I have a lot in my library that I've barely/never used for a render, so I try to focus less on purchasing and more on using what I have.
The only thing that really irritates me is the lack of a male counterpart to Sakura 8. Because of the geografts, and because her look is so specific, it's impossible to dial/morph/transfer a male counterpart yourself. Or at least I don't know how. If there is a way, please do let me know!
(I'm aware of Sasuke. I'm talking about a real male counterpart that can use all my male morphs and geografts!)
Problems Installing Plugins - VWD bridge, HD Morph, GMICI remember having this happen way back and have forgotten what caused it, it was if I recall user error in my case but what it was eludes me now
whats worse is I actually found the post and I had edited it and said NM user error
Hmm, maybe I'm placing the files in the wrong place?
I unzipped the HD Morph download. I copied the results to my extensions folder in Carrara. I also copied the scripts folder to my Daz Studio installation. Could that be it? Some sort of double script reference?
I have utterly no idea except it was something extremely stupid I did, so stupid I edited my post and chose to forget it

my brain now refuses to recall it
