How do I uninstall DAZ Studio?
I am having some issues with DAZ Studio, and I want to uninstall it and then reinstall it. How do I uninstall it? I uninstalled DAZ Central and then reinstalled that without any problems.
Daz CentralWhy is Daz Central showing my assets as install when they are already installed?
Alla Expressions for Genesis 8 Female Not Loading?Hey there! Just bought [Alla Expressions for Genesis 8 Female] and the expression pack that comes along with it, but whenever I go to the product in Daz Studio only the zero option shows up. I tried uninstalling and re-installing using Daz Central and DIM but nothing has worked so far, would really appreciate the help!
NOTE: Also tried manual install and all I could find was DSON support files for the expressions, I can't find the .duf files that would usually be files for the expression functions, see attached screenshots.
Alfan is the artist that I bought this from!

I also lost a TON of items, items I paid for in Pro Bundles. I ONLY bought Starter Bundles that I had the Pro Bundles of, nothing else. And now they've been taken out of my Product Library.
I put in a ticket, but that looks like it may take weeks! Is there anything we can do to get our items back?
I did the same thing, but I don't think any of my products are missing. Is this a Daz Connect or Daz Central thing? I'd rather not go through several pages(!) worth of my product library checking each item. Daz, what is the word on this?
It has nothing to do with either Connect or Central. No content was uninstalled from computers, the missing products are products which should show as purchased (and be listed in product library) but don't.
Check the status of your order from yesterday, if it's not listed as "returned" then nothing will be missing.

Ugh! This missing Starter Bundle thing is freaking me out! I've been going through my Product Library and I can still see all the Starter Bundle stuff that was "added" yesterday. When I go into the Content Library within Studio all the items from the bundles are still there. When I go to the store page for the Pro Bundles, it says I own all the items. Did I dodge a bullet because I keep my computer offline? That would be great, but now I'm paranoid to even fire up DIM. I'd feel uncomfortable buying anything until this is resolved. I'm afraid linking to Daz will result in getting my products deleted.
Again, no products were deleted from any computer, online or not.
A very small number of yesterday's bundle orders (including mine) were returned and items from those bundles are now listed as "not purchased" as a result, despite having been purchased in previous orders.

I just typed "[character name + generation number] Pro" and saw the Pro Bundles listed but the base and the Starter Bundle character gone. However, I was cautious enough to do this for a few Pro Bundles, not all of them. They're still missing and I never got an email about it. Sent in a ticket, but I have my doubts it'll get responded to quickly.mr clam said:Faeofthe3rdDimension said:

Cityscapes Backdrops 'Cannot Open'Whether DIM or Central doesn't matter if they are not configured to install to a proper library Studio knows. Smart Content will gleefully show content that is not installed properly because it is a databased system. As Sevrin asked can you see and load the file from Content Library pane?
Cityscapes Backdrops 'Cannot Open'Sevrin said:
How did you install it? Does it work if you try from the Content Library?
I installed with DIM a long time ago and have never had trouble with it, so it sounds like an install issue.
Hi Sevrin, I have tried installing through Daz Central.
How to import a Rigged Daz model into Blender when none of the tools work?I got a solution from tech support and it worked:
There have been some compatibility issues reported between the "Daz to.." bridges and Central, and I would recommend that you uninstall this bridge via Daz Central and attempt this install process through DIM after you first ensure that path file is properly mapped to 2.92 under your Applications path within DIM. To do this:
1. Open DIM
2. Click on the gear icon in the top right-hand corner of the window
3. Locate the path for Blender and ensure that it is similar to C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\2.92
4. If no path is defined for this application, I would recommend using DIM to define this path
If you are not familiar with this process in DIM:a) Go to the Daz Install Manager Settings (gear icon in the top right corner.)
b) Now, go to the Applications tab.
c) Here, click the '+' icon in the bottom left-hand corner.
d) Select Blender
e) Choose your Version number (2.8 is the highest available)
f) Click '...' next to Path and browse to the respective path (listed above)
g) Click Accept Folder > Accept > Accept. Once you click that second green Accept, you will be taken out of the Install Manager Settings.
Anyway, if anyone else has a problem like this, then this is definitely a thing to check. Solved my problem outright.
problem with HowieFarkes Ultrascenery acceleratorDr. Fork, I will try to help you. I use UltraScenery a lot and I know a lot of troubleshooting techniques.
My first guess is that you previously installed all of your UltraScenery products with DIM or Daz Central and recently accidently double clicked on the UltraScenery product thumbnail in Daz Studio and let it Install. That will create a second incompatible installation in another location on your hard drive. Addon ecologies and features need to be installed to the same folder hierarchy as the main UltraScenery product to work. Installing from inside Daz Studio is one of the known failure modes for UltraScenery and its addons. Let's see if that happened:
- Open Daz Studio.
- Open the Content Library pane. In the Content Library pane there will be a list on the left that has DAZ Studio Formats, Poser Formats, Other Import Formats, Product and Categories.
- Expand the Products section by clicking on the small triangle to the left of the word Products.
- Expand the U section of Products.
- Scroll down to UltraScenery - Realistic Landscape System and left click on the product name.
- The files in the product will be shown in the right side of the Content Library pane.
- Right click on the thumbnail for UltraSceneCreator.dse and select Browse to File Location.
- A Windows Explorer window will open. (If it doesn't open automatically, it may be highlighted or blinking in your taskbar waiting for you to manually open it.)
- What is the full file path of the folder that opens in that Windows Explorer window? If the file path has the word "cloud" in it, that means that the product did get installed from inside Daz Studio. That is a problem, be we can solve it.
- In that same Windows Explorer window, double click on the Ecologies folder to open it. Are all of your purchased ecologies there (e.g.TA TAO 01)?
- Go back up one folder level and double click on the Features folder to open it. Are all of your purchased features there (e.g. TA Stream 01)?
With the answer to these questions, we can move to the next step.
Fresh Install of Daz Studio ProbsSo with the first question, & avoiding Daz Central, which of the exe files should I use then, or order of install if both as I've done to get started?
I have older Scenes saved off to a different drive ( as well as duplicated on another system) so don't mind clearing everything at this point on the main system.
So after clearing the Content Db in DS itself, DIM should then install as expected?
Cannot open DAZ Studio on Mac with Big Sur OS.WHen I launched Daz Central today, it automatically updated DazStudio. However, after installation was complete, I tried to launch DazStudio, and it just kept crashing. Is DazStudio not compatible with Mac OS Big Sur, yet?
Thanks in advance.
Fresh Install of Daz Studio ProbsI've been wanting to clean out my Daz Studio for awhile now; barnicles since 3.x I think. Been out of town for awhile & seemed like a good time to do that.
I uninstalled via the Win10 Apps manager then deleted left over folders, but didn't go after the C:\ remnants.
If you really want to start from scratch, seems that starting at the Daz3D page would be a logical start. Yet when you & click Download Studio, it takes you to Daz Central and no other option. I'm hesitant to use that frankly from some mentions of issues with it in various forums.
But I was able to find the .exe files for both Studio & Install Manager:
DAZ3DIM_1.4.0.67_Win64.exe
DAZStudio_4.15.0.2_Win64.exeIf you install Dim First, there's no separate Windows App Installer. So, I tried installing DS as well. It runs showing just the basic items as would be expected.
I exit DS & Run DIM again, and DIM still shows all of my account files ready for D/L and I get this message panel:
I select those & install (even though I just saw them in DS). I've set paths based on my working Laptop install to equivalent D:\ paths on the Desktop. Yet no matter what, a selected item in DIM shows getting installed, but then next time DIM is launched, it shows everything I just installed as right back in the Ready to Install & none Installed. I just Exit.
I did go ahead & let it install ALL ready for download, (fiber optic is nice in such situations). Sure enough, ALL is in the Ready to Install column, none in the Installed.
Yet launch DS & it shows most in Smart Content with 70 or so items in Lost & Found.
What am I missing here with DIM?
Can't install nothing!I woke up this morning and had to reset my windows 10 computer cause for some reason my computer wouldnt start and instead gave me the blue screen of death. when i resetted it, i tried to instal daz central and it gave me this:

tried downloading DIM and it gave me this:
. tried installing daz standalone and it gave me this
:So right now im at a loss at what to do at this point
PostgreSQL problem is causing None Of My Content to Show DAZStudio4.15.0.2PostgreSQL is the database used by the Content Management System, which is used for Smart Content, the Presets tabs in proeprty panes, and Cataegories and products in the Content Library pane. If you installed using Install manager or Daz Central your content should still be accessible through the Content Library pane under Daz Studio formats (or Poser formats for some, mostly older, items). Lack of the CMS can cause a few other issues but you shouldn't be totally locked out.
Is postgreSQL still installed? Does it start? If you open task manager by right-click on the Task Bar, enbale More Details, and look at the list of background processes under the list of running applications there will usually be several postgresql entries. Does it run when Daz Studio is running? If you do chnage the port number in Edit>Preferencs>CMS Settings and restart Daz Studio does the change persist or does it revert to the original setting?
Install Issue concerning "Package Archive"Don't use Central, it simply does not give the user enough control. DIM is still available at https://www.daz3d.com/get_install_manager/
DAZ Studio 4 Installation Guide Windowskillerwolf666 said:
hi,
hoping for some installation help.
Had Daz on my machine ages ago and uninstalled it. so i thought, was a lot of Daz stuff left despite WIn10 telling me it had been removed, it seems this is a known issue, from a quick google.
anyway, i zaped what i could, website says now to get Dez central which will get the daz product. all seemed fine, i clicked in DC to get Daz Studio, and it said intalling, then the percentage kept dropping etc, at it appeared it was trawling through a lot of my assets and downloading them too. killed it, wiped everyting, tried under a new email, but somehow DC still picks up the downloads/purchases from my other email account.
simply, how do i get a clean install of DS?
TIA
This is the process I followed to re-install Daz Studio and DIM onto my Windows 7 machine last year (and wrote it all down to remember) -- keep in mind that your versions may be different than mine and I don't know if Windows 8/10 or Mac work differently and of course you may be installing in different drives and folders than me:
1) install DAZ PostgreSQL CMS_9.3.4.exe (success -- no hanging) (your version may be different)
2) install Daz Studio 4.10.0.123 (your version may be different)
- set program directory to C:\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4 (yours may be different)
- set content directory to E:\DAZ Studio Assets (yours may be different)
- open DAZ Studio and check "Work Offline" in the first dialog box so you can set preferences before it downloads anything
- check "do not show again" box
- enter serial number in next dialog box
- enter name and web address (optional) in next box
- uncheck everything in "import metadata" box
- check "do not show again" on HOME box
- close Daz Studio
- open Daz Studio again
- reset Content Directories to:
- DAZ Connect Data: E:\DAZ Studio Assets\Daz 3D Content - Daz Connect (yours may be different)
- DAZ Studio Formats: E:\DAZ Studio Assets\Daz 3D Content (yours may be different)
- ADD: E:\DAZ Studio Assets\DAZ STUDIO LIBRARY\Studio\My Library (yours may be different)
- Poser Formats: E:\DAZ Studio Assets\Daz 3D Content - Poser Formats (yours may be different)
- Other Import Formats: E:\DAZ Studio Assets\Daz 3D Content - Other Formats (yours may be different)
- add Hexagon location to Bridge preference (if you own Hexagon)
- Products list is completed by right-clicking ContentLibrary tab, run Content DB Maintenance > Re-Import Metadata (don't need to login) [15+ minute process] (your time may be different)3) install Daz Install Manager (updated to 1.4.0.58) (your version may be different)
- don't login yet
- set to Work Offline, enter email address and set up settings
- should process what is already in PC (few minutes)
- 5700+ items ready to install (yours may be different)
- check all and go through list to make sure to uncheck anything I don't want to install yet (video tutorials, photoshop brushes, etc.)
- takes a while [around 8 hours] to "install" everything (your time may be different)
- admin access is needed if admin user
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2017 ReDist 14.14.26429 will ask for permission to install
- fails because another version exists (0x80070666 error)
- login to DIM to check for new downloads and updates and reset items to hidden that you don't wish to install (32bit items, tutorials, etc.)
- sometimes the system may get stuck (so check on it once in a while)
- some items will ask to be installed (usually plugins)- REBOOT
4) re-open Daz Studio
- add necessary serial numbers for plugins
- close/re-open DAZ Studio
- have to enter login info to update metadata on items that are missing details (like thumbnails)
- there are lots of empty items and blank thumbnails -- blanks that are duplicates can be deletedHope this helps someone with a re-install.
ALWAYS KEEP EVERY VERSION OF DAZ STUDIO YOU DOWNLOAD. You never know when an update is going to be bad.
ALWAYS KEEP ALL YOUR DAZ DOWNLOADS OR DAZ INSTALLED PRODUCTS. Otherwise you'll have to download everything all over again and that sucks when you have 1000's of products like me.
Daz to Blender Bridge - Meet the TeamSpent all day with the new update 2.31...Install from Daz Central..and Installs in Blender 2.9...But you can't activate it as Blender doesn't know it has been installed. No sign of a zip file anywhere...
Made up a new zip from the DBT folder Central installed in Blender 2.9 and was able to activate it...first try to import Daz Character ended in this error...
PostgreSQL CMS Database.... huh.The database is the driver for the Content Management System, without it Smart Content and the Presets tabs of proeprty panes will be empty, as will Categories and Products in the Content Library pane. Some other features also use the CMS. Is the content visible in the Content Library, in the Daz Studio Formats list? That (aside from the daz Connect virtual folder) does not depend on the Content Management System.
How did you install? Did you in fact install PostgreSQL (if you are just updating an older version of DS you might conceivably have only the Valentina database engine, which is no longer used at all). If you are sure you have PostgreSQL installed, does it run when Daz Central, Daz Install Manager, or Daz Studio are running - check Task Manager (right-click on Task Bar), enabling Show More and then looking in the list of processes that appears below the main application list.
Very new to Daz StudioDaz Central and Install manager are the same for this purpose (theya re the same code under the hood/bonnet).
It sounds as if your DS paths do not match those being used by Daz Central - did you install Daz Studio itself using Daz central or another method? Did you chnage the base path after installing DS?
