3DU Problem Fitting Jordan Hair No Data for Shaniquah Hair
Could be that the Daz Central and Daz Studio content locations don't match, assuming the image with the block hair was current.
3DU Problem Fitting Jordan Hair No Data for Shaniquah HairShe used Daz Central to install and she just informed me she sent in a ticket. It's possible she was expecting answers as quickly as I was giving them, as were were talking real time on discord. Not quite the same here lol
She is probably going to need explanations how to to find where things are installed and how to fix any problems founds. I was using images to help.
JUST TRYING TO KEEP UP!I am forced to write this discussion. I have been a member of DAZ since 2014 and thought I had found my interest and growing talent. I purchased assets and watched videos to learn this craft. I was so inspired by DAZ that I went to Art Institute of Technology and got a B.S. in Game Art and Design. Daz and Second Life was my inspiration. I enjoyed many opportunities to see and use other designer works. Creating renders became a passion. I hungered for more skills. I upgrade my PC and laptops to support my desires and honor the upgrades to DAZ that up until 2020 made sense.
I am a front line medical worker that got thrown into the Pandemic of Covid working tirelessly to do my job. My only escape was DAZ. But what I am seeing and dealing with causes me to believe that you need to be a Tech Support, Software Developer, Photographer and more in order to just get a render. I have spent countless money on hardware to support Daz changes and have over 5,000 assets I have purchased.
What I am experiencing now is DAZ is eating up 2-4Trilibite of memory, not giving me assets that represent Genesis/Genesis 2 without Software skills of re-mapping. New Genesis 8.1 Models that are clearly made for Animation that require you to wait on supporting assets: Clothing, Poses, Animation to utilize because...Well! Sorry! there is just no crossover built in yet for Genesis 8 to Genesis 8.1. As if I needed a newer version when I have an extensive library of Genesis 8/3/2. I was happy using version 4.12 Pro but when I got a new laptop or PC was forced to download 4.15. In walks Filament to make my day even more challenging when all I wanted to do was graduate to animating my already existing models. I thought being able to use the Simulation feature for Dforce was such an accomplishment, never mind I had to wait based on software/hardware 3mins for the hem of a dress to fall in place. I thought I was keeping up. Still feeling proud I had found DAZ.
Really! it is now getting ridiculous to use this product. I am reading the discussion in the forum and it sounds like I am not the only one having issues. But the advice provided is starting to read like coding. I wonder if I am the only one getting lost in DAZ, losing that creative edge and excitement when my Genesis 3 Characters look like x-rays on 4.15 until I discovered I have to switch to "Textured Shaded" to see their skin is realistic normal. I must play with NVDIA Iray render lighting often because designers are adding their own lighting. Or dare I say Filament is best. I just want to understand why we are being forced to use some upgraded features and why we are doing our own mapping of older products. Has everyone exhausted all the features of 4.12 Pro except me. Am I so behind that I need to go back to school for a different type of degree? My B.S is my second degree and yet who needs storage when math may be that class that helps you with nodes/pixels.
I'm sorry you had to read this but who else would understand outside of DAZ why my downtime from the Hospital is stressing me more. I will now go back to trying to find out why my Daz Central is not loading my newly bought assets into version 4.15 on my new purchased Desktop and then find out why the mapping is off on my 4.12 version of Daz on my 1 year old laptop for assets purchased from 2016-2018. Hopefully, I will have the opportunity to create some animations before Filament becomes obsolete. Wish! me Luck! I am just trying to keep up.

Faulty product: How long does it usually take until a ticket is answered?I have always received a response within 24 hours but weekends could be longer, if you state exactly what the issue is and what is or maybe be required to fix the problem the issue will be shorted out in 2 or 3 days max, i have tested everything, refunds to store credit and back to original source of account.. there have been a few items in have purchased in the past that either did not work or turned out not suitable for my needs so i have always been delt with within 2 or 3 working days. any technical issues like not all files are being installed from the manual file through the file manager systems like daz central or install manager you may need to report in detail if you want those issued fixed, but then again i have reported those issues before & they fixed them then the next update undid the fix so some files may need a total manual installation to work fully and bypass there silly updates because it will install to another file area where it wont auto update via the manager system, that installation will install to another location in daz3d and not effect the product lists or catagories in that particular area of the editor, you'll install to the Mydaz3d library instead which links to that product content installed via the manager.

Does anyone know what folder I'm supposed to install Headshop 13 to? It doesn't show up in the Daz Central app to install. Thanks! - Ski
When you download the product [should be in your Product Library available for manual download AFAIK], there should be a .pdf or some type of readme file explaining what to run to where and where to place manually any addition files provided [depends how he set up].
Daz Studio 4.16[.0.x] Pro, General Release! (*UPDATED*)grafkdesigner said:
A little over a year ago (12/2019 to be exact) I made the horrible mistake of installing a Studio 4.14 upgrade into my then-existing 4.12 through Install Manager. Studio 4.14 wouldn't open, and if it did, would shut down within a matter of seconds. Tech Support instructed me to install the 4.14 beta. To do that I had to change IM's download and installation protocols. Those changes were irreversible; from that moment Install Manager completely ignored all the items I've been installing since around 2013. So, if I wanted to remove something from my library I had to do it all manually, a very time-consuming prospect. And instructions I received from Tech Support did not help fix the problem.
It sounds as if the paths you were using were non-default and were reset to the defaults - which should be simple to fix - or possibly as if you had nested content directories (one inside another) which might have led to the relative paths in saved files having a spurious extra folder (which can be fixed with a text editor, working on a copy of the files)
But the purpose for my entry is I'm stll shell-shocked, so to speak, about installing upgraded Daz Studio software (4.15 to be exact) and thus be free of the beta 4.14. How can I be guaranteed that all the work I've done for the past 17 months (character development and creation specifically) will still be there and accessible? How can I be guaranteed that history won't repeat itself and this updated 4.15 will work fine?
I can't offer guarantees, and you should not have had the issues you did have, but if it was an issue with the content directories then I would certainly not think it likely to recur. You could try using another system as a test, or save a scene using the base content and see if another person can get it to open correctly.
As it did turn out, some of the resource files of 4.12 were corrupted by the 4.14 upgrade, which caused the problems I was experiencing.
Which resource files?
And the last question, which I raised 17 months ago but never received a satisfactory answer - why can't the exe file for 4.15 (or any other version prior to that) be available for download by the artist for him/her to install as it used to be? Why does it have to be downloaded and installed only through Install Manager or even Daz Central? It was this, as mentioned earlier, that caused all of the problems I had, as well as caused the corruption of my Install Manager.
The general release does have a stand-alone installer.

I bought 8.1 male cos the mouse said it was for 8.1
Mouse for 8.1 means you need genesis 8.1 (it does not come with Mouse 8.1)
Genesis 8.1 male or female is NOT for sale. It is free, and part of the Genesis 8 Essential package. You can download them thru Daz Central or DIM (Daz Install Manager.
[Released] Osoview Arid Scrub and Pine Ridge Backdrops [Commercial]Ever feel you need to sort of... fill in that bit behind these trees or some other scene, but the prospect of plopping down an environment with a thousand trees is a bit... much?
Backdrops are perfect! Set up one or more backdrops at various distances, adjust diffuse overlay to create a sense of distance haze, and voilà! A credible sense of landscape and distance at a small fraction of the render load.
These backdrops are inspired by landscape here in California's central valley and some of the other fairly dry, evergreen vistas in northern California. The climate here is Mediterranean, and I believe these backdrops are familiar to a number of similar places in the world (northern Italy, for example).
This product pairs well with UltraSceneryPro, but can also add some depth to any outdoor scene.
Also, importantly, these backdrops are transparent masked so you can easily use them with skies of your choice (or further backdrops).Gen 8.1 missing posing morphsTsuba said:

How did you install your Genesis 8 Starter Essentials? (DIM/DAZ Central/DAZ Connect/Manuallly)
If your content is installed in a "traditional" installation path (No 'Cloud' in the path), this will get the expressions working;Making the G8 base expressions (and any expressions that are using them) work on G8.1 requires removing dummy/placeholder expressions that are installed to G8.1 morph folders - These dummy/placeholder expression files have no other function than to prevent the base G8 expressions from loading.
The dummy/placeholder files are located in;
...\Data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female 8_1\Morphs\Daz 3D\Base Pose Head\ (255 files)
...\Data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female 8_1\Morphs\Daz 3D\Expressions\ (24 files)
...\Data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Male 8_1\Morphs\Daz 3D\Base Pose Head\ (255 files)
...\Data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Male 8_1\Morphs\Daz 3D\Expressions\ (24 files)Please make sure you are removing the files from G8.1 morph folders and not G8 morph folders.
That worked, pose morphs are back. Thanks !

Sounds ominous, what's the risk ? :)
Increased load time (how bad will depend on how heavily loaded your character is already), there are a couple of overlapping labels (easy enough to fix). But there may be other issues that will crop up, and daz obviously won't be able to offer any suport if you've gone off piste like that (other than telling you to put the blockers back and see if your issue is resolved)
Glitchy Power Pose Panel?OK, so the face template is fine but not the head one. That's even more mystifying to me.
If you have used Daz Central then I would advise you DO NOT use Connect as well - it just duplicates the installation and may get you into a worse mess. I think PerttiA was just specifying which file you needed if you manually installed or used DIM.
DS 4.15 is the current release (DS4.9 is much older - they way DAZ numbers its releases they ran DS4.9 then 4.10 then 4.11 then 4.12, etc)

Glitchy Power Pose Panel?Yes, that's the panel I'm looking for. There must be something wrong with my install. I followed an instructional video that had me create an account on the Daz website. Download Daz Central then install Daz central from the downloaded .exe file. Then from within Daz Central, I installed Daz Studio, everything was from within DC that's for sure. I have the Genesis Starter Essentials. That and a few others came with the Daz Studio installation. I'll try to uninstall and reinstall them from your link.
