One element I dislike though are the baked-in expressions: I would prefer to be able to apply only the pose. Outside of that, I usually like 3DSugar's poses.

Yeah... although I do like that the expressions come as a separate option. They don't always look great on my characters (typical of any expression set), but I have a few that are go-to choices from other sets.

I agree expressions can be an issue, but that is why I buy products that zero specific areas of the body. But for this PA, I generally just modify from what shows up, just as I do if I am using the pose and the character is not quite what was planned for. It is a starting point for me.

Even though I'm migrating back towards Iray after my current long-term project ends, I have to say that Easy Filatoon is the best of the Filatoon helper products out there. No disrespect to the others, but this is just better.

I have an ongoing problem with a product I purchased from DAZ3d, I have notified Sales Support, they have acknowledged the receipt of my complaint, acknowledge that it is legit and said they would get back to me - well nothing has happened.  I recontacted them - and silence.  Are they shutting down, or are they so understaffed that they can't address ongoing problems.  Has anyone else experienced similar problems?

Similar situation. Still waiting. Initial ticket submitted fall of 2023.

I was told that staffing transitions and transfers of caseloads caused the delay in replying to mine, but I did get a reply. I wasn't happy with it, but after waiting a year and a half I decided to accept their resolution. I hope yours fares better.

non-complaint: The driveway is finally down to just pavement!!!

complaint: "Wintry mix" of rain-ice-snow scheduled for the next three days.

...similar forecast for here today.  So much for the two weeks of "fake spring" we just enjoyed.  Only 39° (F) currently at a bit past noon. Breezy as well. Will be the first time this year I need to break the heavy coat and scarf out.

The roads are predicted to be slick enough that they're preemptively canceling public school due to concerns over bus safety. Not common.

On the bright side, the beautiful weather is no longer taunting me. Hard to be sad about being stuck inside when it's doing that nonsense out there.

On the less bright side, we now have to make a judgment call on whether people who appear to be stranded motorists are actually stranded motorists. Because over the past weekend there were reports that such people in the city that shares our eastern border were not.

When I was six years old, 1960, living on remote island, Newfoundland,. and schools closed, we (six siblings) would hold hands and weather the storm, trudge up the driveway, snow to our thighs, and knock and knock and knock. The harder we knocked the louder she (housekeeper to be step mom)  dialed the TV volume. We huddled outside with our German Shepperd, until Dad got home. Next day at school we said a prayer for the people who died in the storm, thankful it was not us, and wondered if tomorrow it would be us  that did not survive. Storms are never friends or friendly.

I'm glad you had each other, and that you survived.

Our districting was nonsense. There was a school within very reasonable walking distance, but we were put on a bus and driven 20 minutes across town to a different school. Even aside from the closest one, there were at least three others that were closer than where we were sent. More now... seems like you can't throw a stone without hitting another one.

Does anyone know why this product is not included in sales like the Top-Notch sales right now and other sales this week that had a prominent number of DAZ Original products.

    https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-81-female-centaur-and-Violaine

Is it because it is a Daz Originals and Colm Jackson product?

ERm... I could say it's because DAZ hates you devil, but actually the number of DAZ Originals that are in the sales are usually a pretty small percentage when compared to the number of DAZ Originals in the store total that COULD have been in the sale - ie: for the Top Notch sale there are 1385 D.O.s in the sale Vs. 32382 D.O.s in the store in total, which  works out to less than 5% of the total DAZ Original Inventory. So it's realy not that odd that this particular happened to end up left out as it's just one of the over 95% of D.O.s that didn't make the sale, but it will eventually cycle around.

By comparison, the next two largest vendors in terms of number of products total are Zeddicus and Out of Touch, and running the same comparison shows that both of those vendors had a much higher percentage of product in the sale vs potentially eligible, with Zeddicus having 777 out of 1009 items (roughly 77%) in the sale and OOT having 716 out of 761 (just a smidge under 95%) in the sale.

Not to put to fine a point on this, but the user base of studio is microscopic compared to Adobe products.

If Daz shut down tomorrow, there's no amount of "backlash" that's going to change that.

That's not entirely true. Victoria, in her various iterations, is the most widely used 3D model in the world. She appears in movies, advertising, etc. If Victoria were to disappear tomorrow, I think there would be major backlash.

That would be relevant, if eightiesisenough's comparison was the discontinuation of a certain base figure or program, and not the complete cessation of operations.

If daz3d shut down, there's no amount of online complaining that's going to bring it back.

@SilverGirl I heard about that. Be very careful.

For good or ill, that one only applies to me minimally... the kids and I haven't left the house since we got back from my folks' place on New Year's. I had to warn my parents, though... Dad especially. He can fix anything that could go wrong with a car, and he'd absolutely stop. And being an older white straight cis-dude who's always lived in reasonably safe places, he's not used to having half an eye out for threats. Mom's more likely to smell a trap. Dad also has some hearing loss that isn't fully compensated for with hearing aids, as well as some mental processing lag from other health issues, so he's likely to have trouble parsing what's going on in a situation like that (whereas at home we know what the tricky spots are and just work around them. He's still firecracker smart, he just needs some extra time and a reduction in distractions.)

BTW the fish is on and both cats are cuddled together and 'kind of' watching it. They are washing each other's head, pause, look at the TV, glare at me, close eyes. Repeat.

We are having crazy winds and because the topsoil is so dry, it was picked up and blown across the HWY 25 on the North bound side yesterday. Now 5 dead, many in hospital. The South bound side was reopened by last night, but North was still close this morning. And blizzard winds/snow up in the Rockies.

Holy buckets. I'm so sorry for their loved ones.

    V3Digitimes said:

    Updating information today with:

    • newly updated products (DS6 compatibility),

    • a clarified status for products that install scripts in menus,

    • a note about a temporary stand-by for updates: only one product remains, currently paused due to menu installation issues in DS6.

Further updates will resume once the menu-related behavior in DS6 is clarified or stabilized.

I so appreciate what you do for us.  Love your products and am so excited that you are working to make them usable in the the Alpha.  I was forced into a 5060 card (long story, and I'm not really sorry but jumping between studio sessions is a pain!) so it means a lot to be able to use stuff I already own.  And will most definitely make me want to purchase more of your stuff!

  • New Year, New Sales Thread: Report Issues Here 3 "Reporting Only"

Does the Flash Sale not work with Daz+ New Releases? I have both of yesterday's D+ new releases in the cart (which I did put on WL yesterday) plus an older dress from the flash sale selection that I've had wishlisted for a while. The dress appears to get the correct 75% discount for being in my WL. But it doesn't appear either the dress or the New D+ items are getting the extra 30% off for having those 2 New Releases. The D+ items should drop to the $2.99 floor price if the store was discounting correctly and New D+ products aren't an unmentioned exclusion.

(I don't think the screenshot shows it but the coupon was applied)

Flash sale up. TOP-NOTCH. 75% off wishlist. 50% off. A few more laughable offers.

I put a NEW item from my wishlist in the cart and it only discounts the usual 30%. It is not discounting at 50. It was put in my WL upon release day, 2-11. Then I put an older WL n the crt that has no discount. That one does discount at 75%. Who knows the key.
EDIT" again..i just realized the WL item  must be in the list of products in the offer.

  • Error Opening File

    Hey everyone,

I have been using Daz3d for about a month now and have run into my first major issue.
Tonight a lightning storm passed over my house so I quickly decided to save my scene and shut down my pc.

After the storm passed I opened up Daz and opened my scene, only to be met with this Error message.
After doing some research online I have seen some forums mentioning that this is likely due to a corrupted file from exiting Daz during a save, crashing during a save, etc etc.
I am 99% sure I waited for daz to finish saving before closing the program and shutting down but I cant be 100% sure due to the quick panic from the thunderstorm.

I cant find any temp file auto saves or anything that could possibly roll back the scene.

I use the Daz 2025 (6.25) Public Build to utilize my 50 series gfx card and thought It may be a compatibility issue with an asset thats throwing the error, but even trying to open the scene with Daz 4.24 throws the same error.
I can open all my other scenes with 2025 and 4.24 with no problems, its just specifically this scene that is erroring.

Here is the error Log ↓

  • AI in DAZ studio what makes sense what are the fears?

    daybird said:

I'm curious to see if the traditional DAZ method can compete with AI in the coming years. I'm noticing that my artistic skills are increasingly falling behind the quality of AI-generated images.

I think DAZ needs to consider how to integrate AI support into the program. There are so many ways AI can assist us in creating images without taking away all our freedom. Many good suggestions have already been posted here.

Just being able to sort and use my purchased products would simplify the workflow so much. I enter what I want to depict in the scene, and DAZ gives me a window with items that match that vision and that I already own. Alternatively, it could even show products that I don't own but that are available in the shop.

So the first part of that is certainly doable. I've written an app (and there are others) that allow you to search through your own product catalog using an AI based natural language search. For example, "Show me asian houses with a medieval style suitable for a horror themed picture". It wouldn't be that much of a leap to then extend the functionality to the next step of understanding a description of the entire scene and identifying products to place in the scene. The tricky part is integrating with Studio itself, since it's not necessarily set up to work as a tool that an AI workflow can use. Now that I think about it, I can already see how we might be able to do this... great, another project on the backlog. :-)

I second Wendy in hoping you will find and make available your products again somewhere... PLEEEEASE.

    Hard pass, just on principle.

You gave it more time than I did, as I was ready to pass as soon as it became apparent that there were no movement morphs. Are those bangs supposed to be covered in shellac to hold those shapes?

1000% Cybersox! With very few exceptions, I can't do anything with hair that doesn't move. There are several PAs on my 'don't buy' list for hair because they don't make it functional. And that's a shame, because the products look nice otherwise. frown

Yeah... I saw this morning's theme and was going "Wait, what?"

Yup, it gives the vibes of someone being off on vacation and trying to catch up with work after they return.

We're having day 4 of Valentines after the actual day, so I guess we still might get Presidents Day and Lunar New Year next week... and March Madness starting in April, I suppose?
