I tried to install via DAZ Central and Daz install manager...both same results.  Both preloads doesnt work either.

Assuming you mean Central and not Connect, just go to the folder you install to (e.g. My Daz 3d Library, then in that /Runtime/Textures/Fugazi1968/ and in that folder chnage the name of the FG Science Laboratory folder to FG Science Area and try reloading the scene file - assuming it isn't a mixture of good paths and bad that should let the product load. However, if they fix the issue by changing the paths in the user-facing files to match the actual folder in the zip then you will potentially end up with two copies of each texture, so you may need to manually remove the renamed folder after any update (if they leave the .duf files alone and chnage the folder name in the zip you wouldn't have that problem).

I just tried changing the folder's name, still getting the same error...

  • Daz Central Not Responding

    Hello,

Every time I launch Daz Central it just gets stuck in a "not responding" state. Also, I cannot find a download link for the actual Daz Studio. The link always goes to Daz Central download and there doesn't seem to be a way to download Daz Studio.

Any idea how to get Daz Central to work? I have a powerful PC.

    Thanks!

I have some questions. that seemed to be passed over .

    1)  Will Daz5 still read. DUF, ? or support pz3 like daz4?

Given the comments on compatibility I would say that was a clear yes for .duf at least

    2)  Will there be a offer for downloads of older version of daz 4 such as 4.11 or  4.12 ?

I wouldn't expect that to change, it will be the latest DS 4 on the DS product page and in DIM/Central

    3) Will the Daz bridges to blender still work?

That we won't know, but I'm sure they will be updated if necessary

    4) Will GoZ still work or a new zbrush bridge for us zbrush users?

GoZ is a plug-in so it will need a new file, to go to the new location, but I have no doubt it will be updated (though I've no idea if that will be immediate, or if the two will be different enough to have both GoZ afor DS 4 and GoZ for DS 5 installed at the same time).

    5) Will the animate2 timeline and the .GFA scripts for aniblock still work in the new daz 5?

Nothing has been said to indicate otherwise, though it is possible from what was said that not all features may be in the initial release.

    Thank you

  • How can I downgrade?

It seems that 4.15 has removed support for my video card.  I'm going to have to rely on a previous version.  How can I get one?  Will Daz Central automatically try to upgrade me if I do actually find an older version?

Can I ask, can the accelerator be installed manually?

It's in the fast grab at the moment, and I have held off thinking that it'd need installation through DIM. Having seen the problems that can be generated, I am NEVER letting DIM or DAZ Central organise the location of any of my stuff. What makes it easier is that the machine is offline, so manual installation is actually easier. Anyway, is it a DLL that needs to be put in the program directory, or is there more to it that prevents manual installation? If it's prevented, much as I'd like the accelerator I'll not get it and I've saved money that is otherwise guaranteed to be spent on the accelerator.

    Regards,

    Richard

I'm not aware that it needs to add anything to the registry or the like during the instalaltion stage.

I can confirm this from personal experience. I used DIM to install the dll on my test and set up PC and then copied it to the render PC manually.  It's been running happily ever since.

Ideally, DAZ need to supply two manual installers for this product, one for the Studio content folder and the other for the Windows system folder.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

Yes, it is a plug-in with a DLL file to go in the application folder. I've not tried a manual install but I'm not aware that it needs to add anything to the registry or the like during the instalaltion stage. In any event, using DIM to install plug-ins would have no effect on content.

I usually manually install but I ended up using DIM to install the Accelerator.  This managed to do the task without messing anything up.  I've never used DAZ Central but, from what I've read in the forums (and this thread in particular) it's best avoided.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

same here.... not sure whats up but its crash central with daz right now.  DIM will crash as well as soon as login.

I found a temp work around, manually install the 32 bit version of DIM so you can log in and at least download your stuff but yeah DAZ just seems so broken right now.

  • Why must be this so complex ?

I'm running 2.5.1.137. I prefer to use DIM rather than Central.

I did have a crash last night, but I was trying to do something stupid, HEX did display an error but as I knew what I did wrong (and I'd only saved a few minutes earlier) I did not bother to read it.

You can also try installing it manually, I normally go down that road when things play me up. Don't forget to turn off Local Redraw and raise your Undos.

  • Why must be this so complex ?

    Last year I changed my PC to a new Ryzen 7 + Asus Turbo GTX-1060 6Gb + 32Bg RAM + Windows 10 64

Hexagon was running ok ( you know.. from time to time a crash but letting work ).

As side note of something interesting: A curious thing in Win 7 and Win 10, was that if you had Hexagon crashes clicking on an object, or as example you had holes in an onject making impossible to sculpe this, you always can select all objects and save a an OBJ file. Later, you load the file, and there are not problems. Not crashes and sculpe the object. Nice !!

Now without know why, a HXN draw that was saved / exported to OBJ without problems in the past, is crashing Hexagon ALWAYS that I try to save / export as OBJ file.

I tried to download the new Beta but DIM and DAZ Central always install the public 2.5.2.109. Including a new purchase of the new beta that didn't change the list of updates in DIM and Central. Always download the same.

Anyone knows if some update in Win 10, or other can cause this so many repeated ? ( Of course from time to time continues crashing by other reassons )

Is a Windows error. Not an Hexagon error. First was "Windows detect a problem and the porogram will be closed..." but in lasts only is closed without any warning.

  • Brand new i9 - RTX 3090 crashing BSOD when rendering Daz PNG Sequence

Hey all - I'm running out of ideas on what might be wrong with my brand new PC (specs at the bottom). I have a very simple scene with a Genesis 8 female (surface shaders reset against low opacity text - example attached) that rotates 360 degrees over 1200 frames. I'm exporting as a PNG sequence. I have an old machine with an i7 1080 combo that will render each frame in about 2 minutes. That old machine will run nonstop with no issues for 24 hours to do all 1200 frames with no crashes.  This new machine can render a frame in less than 30 seconds, but then it randomly blue screens the machine. Some times after 9 minutes, sometimes after 2 hours. I leave the machine alone to do the rendering. Everytime is the same BSOD "CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT". I updated all the drivers for the machine upon receiving it, GPU is on the latest nVidia Studio driver. I've re-seated the RAM and the GPU. I've seen others with crashing issues being advised to look at the Event Viewer, but I must not be savvy enough to de-code what I should be looking for there. I see that the machine restarted when it didn't plan to, but I can't determine the cause. I ran HWiNFO64 to see if the VRAM was overheating as some have experienced with 3090s, but it never goes over 92C.

    • Daz was installed via Daz Central
    • Hardware accelerated GPU Scheduling is ON
    • CPU Fallback is OFF and CPUs are un-checked
    • I've limited the CPU Affinity to half capacity and left it at full capacity, crashes eventually in both scenarios
    • The DAZ application is NOT on the C:\ drive, its on D:\

Made an over-the-shoulder video that shows the process. Crash starts around 8:26 on frame 35 - https://youtu.be/EQBDeVbcY2w

    Any thoughts anyone has?

  • A REALLY FRUSTRATING PROBLEM WITH DAZ3D + CENTRAL

The base path in Daz Central is used by everything; that is part of the simplification of the process. Install Manager will pick up the paths from Central if it is installed afterwards, but they can be chnaged in its Advanced Settings as usual (gear icon at top-right). You can reset DIM's paths to the defaults from the right-click menu, but you will then need to uninstall/reinstall the content and applications and set the current paths used in Daz Studio - there is a sample script that you can download and drag into the DS Viewport to make sure the current DIM paths are included in DS http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/scripting/api_reference/samples/file_io/install_manager_config_import/start

  • A REALLY FRUSTRATING PROBLEM WITH DAZ3D + CENTRAL

Hello everyone, Im facing a really big problem with daz installation.

I have installed the program the first time using central and tried to set the BASE directory thinking it was where the content is downloaded as I have a 265TB SSD and a 1TB HDD where I want the software to be installed on the SSD for performance purposes and the content on the HDD for space distrubition management..... To cut it short, everytime I reinstall daz a new directory appears and every content downloaded is corrupt and to add insult to injury I downloaded the old fashioned DIM (cause it is what Im used to ) and tried to install from there and it is getting worse! That central just screwed the whole thing and cant seem to reset everything back to original state....

I tried searching online for a solution and couldnt find anything.

    Please help!
