AIUTO...CHI CONOSCE L’ITALIANO? PARTE TREDICI
Per creare uno specchio in 3Delight ti basta aumentare la Reflection Strength e portare in basso Ambient color (verso il nero) e il gioco è fatto.
Per Filament devi aspettare shader specifici, il motore è stato implementato da poco.
AIUTO...CHI CONOSCE L’ITALIANO?

Didn't see a thread for this so popping one here.

First up - it's awesome and does wonders for old hair (and adds loads of options for new hair too).
Second: By way of a PSA: If applying to older (3DL shader) hairs,DS was hanging for me (waited minutes upon minutes before I quit). Converting to Iray Uber first (mere milliseconds) THEN applying FSL Hair shader (mere split-seconds) works just fine :) Could be just me but figured I'd mention it in case anyone else was having trouble.
Sadly no time for a render just yet, but I wanted to stop by to give it 2 thumbs up :)
Filament may not be a good choice for Daz StudioFilament also seems to borrow from Vulkan in some part. I do hope we'll be getting more features from the official standard, since not everything is implemented in Filament for Daz3D. That said the path from Daz to any other package is getting easier, for instance with Daz to Blender's Eevee.
There is a Daz Studio SDK that would allow integration with this renderer though, and the Daz filament implementation is on github, so a skilled programmer could perhaps look at the wickedengine and create a renderbridge.

+1 on that. It's so intruging but it only appears for a second or so on my system.
Filament may not be a good choice for Daz StudioFilament wasn't mean to be an alternative to Iray for production renders. It's a PBR draw mode designed to provide an instant, real-time Viewport preview of your scene without having to wait for Iray to process anything.
Filament may not be a good choice for Daz StudioThe main purpose of Filament project is for google can use 3D contents on mobile for VR, which doesn't request a good render result.
So, after some years' developing, Filament is still lack of a lot of features, and rejects some good features.
Which means, with Filament, Daz's realtime rendering will never as good as iClone or Eevee. Filament is not even as good as Cinema4d's OpenGL realtime renderer.
But, Daz Studio does need an open source real-time PBR rendering engine. So, if Filament is a not good choice, which one is?
Well, I did a search, turns out, there are not many choices for this. But, there is a good one!
WickedEngine: https://github.com/turanszkij/WickedEngine

It's a C++ cross platform game eninge, with some very good features, which Filament may never have.
* Screen space reflection (Filament rejects this feature)
* Voxel Global Illumination (A realtime GI, which is used by iClone, Unreal 5 and CryEngine)
* Realtime Ray tracing, path tracing (on GPU, not just reflection, also with shadow and AO)
* Area light
* Offer Both Deferred and Forward+ render pipelines.
(Deferred pipeline is used by all desktop games. Forward pipeline is used by mobile games.)Well, it's a game engine with sound, bone, particle and so on. But with C++ API, you can only use it as a rendering engine.
-----
Everything is good to go. There is only one problem: Filament is backed by Google, and WickedEngine is created by one guy.
But, WickedEngine already has every good features for rendering, it reaches the best real-time rendering result on Desktop as Unreal, CryEngine and Eevee. Even if somehow WickedEngine stops development, you already get everything you need. So Daz Studio won't lose the real-time battle with Eevee or iClone.
But with Filament, nothing changes. Without Global Illumination and a good reflection, Daz Studio is still gonna lose this battle.

OK, I had to use the Daz utility to uninstall then reinstall and it went back to normal. I think that when I originally downloaded it and it used DIM to install, that caused some problems.
V3Digitimes and I were just discussing this. It appears like Daz Connect is breaking our scripting products (or at least it is happening more often); there has been a ticket submitted about it. My recommendation is to uninstall the Daz Connect version, make sure you delete the files on disk, and install using DIM.

Rakshasi by oso - feline morph or costume?the materials and how it uses the textures are very iray specific though not even working in Filament let alone Carrara or export to iClone or Unreal.
one might be able to do something in Carrara using operators and layers, I sort of fudged it a bit.
his base is more of a puma, one would have to use a multiply or mixer operator to add the stripe maps
using the base and dark base in a mixer with the stripes as a blender looks like it will work

You could export the 8.1 figure at base resolution and load that as a new UV set for 8.0, but you would then need to split the head/body group in two or the maps would overlap. At that point what would you be gaining over using 8.1 itself?
well for a start being able to use it in D|S 4.11 to actually render it as an animation in iray in a reasonable time on my rig without an RTX card with other morphs such as visemes and expressions not just its own.
4.15 public beta in Filament just wouldn't do it justice
and don't get me started on autofitting clothes in 4.15 ...
Smooth animation in viewport ?I add any morph is playing smoothly, but things get laggy as soon as a movement is involved. The feature you need but that isn't in Daz, is for the timeline to record and play back the animation. Second best is rendering it to a set of .png using the OpenGL or new Filament renderer, then join the pngs using ffmpeg. I'm really not too sure why the performance is so terrible. I suspect like a lot of other issues in Daz it's the UI firing off a web of events whenever anything happens (I'm speculating of course).
Smooth animation in viewport ?I'm making tons of animations and it would help me a lot to visualize them smoothtly in viewport before rendering to make sure they look natural. Currently my 50 fps animations are more about 1fps when playing the timeline, whatever I choose filament or hidden line preview modes. Is it even possible to get a smooth animation with the best hardware ever ? Otherwise, how should I do ?

Why do faces look lighter in 4.15? I'm using the 4.15 beta alongisde 4.12.0.86 and the first thing I noticed is that as soon as I bring a scene in from 4.12 to 4.15 it looks like the faces are lightly powdered in white? Whats going on? If I reopen the scene in 4.12 everything is normal, but if I try to render in 4.15 the face is noticeably whiter/lighter than the rest of the body. Also what the heck are these tonemapper and environment nodes? Can I safely delete these?
The "Tonemapper" and "Environment" [Options] nodes contain the settings from the corresponding panes in the render tab. The "Filament Draw" Options node contains the settings from the Filament "Draw Settings" pane. Deleting them in 4.14+ does the same as pressing the "Default" button on the relevant pane did in 4.12.
Check your "Render Settings" tab in both 4.12 and 4.15. Look at the "Advanced" pane; it should be "NVidia Iray" because that is the default. If it is you need to check all the sub-panes, "Hardware", "Canvases" and "Bridge" in both; they can be changed independently and aren't completely properties of the scene. Make sure they are the same. I think the "Defaults" button still works on the Advanced tab but I haven't checked that and I found the 4.12 behavior weird; when I loaded a scene it sometimes seemed to retain some of the settings of the previous scene.
Then check the "Render Settings" "Editor" pane and look for anything which is not the default. (Assuming you aren't in the habit of changing the defaults, as I am; if you do it is necessary to be much more careful...)
It this is all fine or the face/torso distinction still happens after making both versions have the same settings, I suggest posting renders of the neck from the two versions; someone here may be able to guess at what is going on, along with the exact Beta subversion number (since I think a couple of things might have changed in recent betas).
How long does it take you to load G8F?My times are in this comment:
https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/6541996/#Comment_6541996
Summarized for this thread these are load times for the Genesis 8 Basic Female with varying numbers (the # column) of G8 characters (both F and M) visible to DAZStudio (and no other changes; all my other G8 content was visible). The first number is for the first load after the DSON cache has been deleted, the second is for the second load when the DSON cache is fully populated. All tests involved running a script to insert the character immediately after starting DAZStudio, times are in seconds:
# no cache cached --- -------- ------ 0 17.075 10.919 78 25.903 19.910 636 100.807 91.726If I remove most morphs, expressions, poses and wardrobe items (my setup has some morphs and a small number of expressions always installed), I get to 2.649s to load the character with the cache, 4.169s without. The DSON cache saves between 1.5 and 10s, which is very significant for the base load time but ceases to be so as the load time increases. Apart from the load time increase caused by extra characters there are significant increases for some other items. The extra time over the 2.649s number is given below. The first column is what I added for the test, the second column is the increase in load time (with the DSON cache):
Add Extra time ----------- ---------- Wardrobe +0.379 Poses +0.833 Expressions +1.644 Morphs +4.009I've got about 1250 wardrobe packages. I've got 35 morph packages but 10 of them are in my base set (i.e. the figure for Morphs is just the for the additional 25 packages.)
Here's the script:
Scene.loadScene("[installation root directory]/People/Genesis 8 Female/Genesis 8 Basic Female.duf", Scene.MergeFile)Copy that line into the "Script IDE" tab, edit the root directory, and hit Execute; the output window at the bottom contains both the log messages and (at the end) the load time. I suggest using "Wire Frame" in the viewport; Filament takes several seconds to get up-to-speed after the load.

No, that is not something the script controls. That is all up to Filament.
Skin Builder 8 Merchant Resource for Genesis 8 Female (Commercial)Here is the original V1.0 (attached) that should save out the skins fine, except for the lashes issue that was addressed in version 1.2
This is the change log in versions so we gonna backtrack to see where the output got messed up.
Updated to version 1.1
Added fix for when viewport is in Filament preview which it is not designed for and causes issues. Script now auto changes to Iray preview while skin building process occurs if viewport was in Filament preview.
Added proper blocker to not work on 8.1 base.Updated to version 1.2
Issue with saving Eyelash preset resolved.
Please test again with version 1.0 to see if output on skin is working fine. Thanks
