This is awesome!  Is this something we can do without HD morphs, or do you have to be a vendor to be able to make morphs like this?  I have ZBrush and do some morphing at base res, but this is obviously not that lol

HD morphs will allow more sculpted detail, it does not give you more options as to the kind of morphs you make. You can go extreme with base res morphs then add details in other ways. It is all about how the character maker approaches their concept. (don't want this thread to turn into another HD morph debate.....the ability to make HD morphs or will in no way limit a product makers creativity...just their approach)

Oh no I get it, not going that direction...  let me rephrase.  This is awesome, and I meant to as "How did you do that?". I was wondering if it's something I would be able to make with consumer tools at my disposal...  I'm sorry for the confusion.

Ok...sorry if I overreacted....cuz thats a topic that I forever smack my head about when I see it in the forums LOL

As for if it "can" be done...sure...but it takes alot of patience. When you get that extreme...things no longer play nicely and everything has to be tweaked.

  • Problem with dForce

    Hi

I created a skirt with Blender, for GF8.
I imported it and applied the Transfer Utility for Genesis 8 Female.
Then, I placed this skirt on the Genesis 8 Basic Female body.
With dForce, I made a simulation which worked very well.

Then, I placed this skirt on a Genesis 8 Female body which has several morphs.
I launched the same simulation with the same parameters, but the mesh of the skirt exploded as seen in the image below.

Perhaps you have encountered the same problem ?

  • More Non-photorealisitic Renders (NPR II)

We started an image in the class I taught yesterday. After it ended, I completed my post work and this is what I came up with. Figure is V4 with the Bettie Page morph and hair. Can't recall where I got the devil wings and horns, though.

Love Bettie Page and your image is a fine tribute to her...

  • How can I edit a morph graph?

    Hello everyone,
The issue I have is with Daz custom morphs. Recently, I imported an object to Daz and its morph with morph loader pro... It was a shape morph. The thing is, in that morph, the position A which is 0.0% is correct and position B, i.e, 100% is also correct, but in the transition, from position A to position B, the object shrinks, and when it reaches position B, its back to its original size. How do I keep the object at the same scale throughout the morph slider?

  • Error Message when Loading G8F Characters

If you are loading a base figure, you have a morph installed that was updated for G8 (manually), and a reference to G3 was not changed

This happens even when I load a G8 figure without morphs.

Even when loading the base character or the developer version, DS still goes through all of your G8F related morph-files = Characters, morphs, some expressions, etc... Everything you have installed for G8F, even when they are not activated at that moment.

You cannot load G8 figure (or any Genesis 1-8 figure) without DS reading all the figure related morph files.

The morph-files for G8F are located in ...\Data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female\Morphs\... - Depending on how much content you have installed for G8F, there can be hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands files and in one of those files the path to genesis 3 female has been left when "updating" the file manually for G8.

If the logfile doesn't give any more information, it is very difficult to track down the ill-behaving morph.

  • Welcome to Hatsune Miku Anime Manga Cafe ☕

Darling Deer! Wonderful work on the textures!

The texture is Pabu converted from A4 to A3 + a customized body texture. The morph is also an approximation of Pabu's. So thanks and a thank you to @Thorne.

Yeah, forgot the y-scale is hidden for characters.  If you type "length" or  "height" into the search box when you select "Actor" in the parameters does anything come up?   If you want to start adjusting characters, you should get the morph set FSMC mentioned.  There is a similar one for faces, which you should also get.  They're on sale a lot.

You won't get ALL these morphs with the basic morph pack.  I have a lot of other morph packs.

It depends on the morphs you have available.  The simplest is scaling only on the Y-axis.  If you have some basic morph sets, you can also try increasing things like thigh or shin length.

the thing is all I get is a single scale parameter that scales everything at the same time

  • pJCM Poses - For Clothing Creators - Questions

It would be cool if there was a way to have like weight maps applied to the pJCMs, and then the part where two or more weight maps associated with different pJCMS overlapped would cancel out to have zero influence.

Yeah that would be nice if there was a way to use weightmap to control the pJCM or even tell which certain selected vertices to not be affected.

I noticed in the vendor's Marvelous Designer tutorial (the redux one), they did actually mention that possibility of creating pJCMs with Marvelous Designer itself, and showed the creation of a pJCM which affected the whole garment.  But they did not follow through and then show how that could be utilised and they did not touch on the issue that OP observed when combing two pJCMs that overlap.

That's upsetting then :\  Guess DAZ isn't capable of blending the two morphs in between.  I also wonder if DAZ is capable of knowing how to apply another morph if both arms were raised.

This happens even when I load a G8 figure without morphs.

There was a product that did that, I thought it had been updated - check DIM/Smart Content for updates, depending on your instalaltion method.

If you recently installed Daz Central it may have changed some of your settings.  Look in Daz Studio Edit_Preferences_Content_Content Directory Manager.  Click the + sign on each of the content sets and make sure they are pointing to the directory where your daz resources are.  You may need to look in DIM also to make sure everything is going where you expect it to be going.

This is a fresh install after I had to re-image my computer. When I re-installed Daz, I pointed my library to a large secondary drive instead of the primary drive. Everything looks how I expect it to. I attached DIM settings, maybe you can see something I missed.

    Thanks.

  • Stop putting heels on everything!

[Stop putting heels on everything!] Please?

Seriously, another three fantasy outfits for G8 that I would have bought, except for the high heels. Who wants to fight with a [blessed] sword in heels? Can we not please have at least one outfit for female characters that doesn't have heels? Or include two sets of boots- one with heels and one with flats- or a morph to get rid of them: I'd pay extra!

    Why does everything have heels?

This thread is called 'Product Suggestions', right? Well here's my product suggestion: Take any one of the fantasy warrior-woman releases for G8 throughout the figure's entire life-time and make a version without [blooming] heels. Slap on a five dollar mark-up to the original price if you have to. Is it harder to make boots that are flat? I don't know. Ten dollars then- twenty?

    Please.

    /Rant

AMEN!  I'm not buying the Age of Heroes bundle because of the bloody heels. Two great characters with useless outfits. It's a bloody joke.

  • DS (Not Responding) when Loading Assets

Yes, those are greyed out indicating that they are not instaleld according to the database. However, they are also tagged as user categories so it's quite possible that something odd is going on. Is this the system your content was installed on, or have you transferred from another machine? Have you changed the content directories used? A couple of ways this could happen with DIM - another copy of the files in a different content location, or the location of the files chnaged since DIM installed them - either way it wouldn't know to delete the duplicate/moved files and they would still be there.

Thanks for the detailed response! Yes, this is the only machine I've used DS on, and also yes I manually changed the location of My DAZ 3D Library and My Library to a dedicated SSD separate from the SSD where Windows and DS are (and Content had been originally installed to).

I've never needing to look further into Morphs beyond finding their Sliders and using them, so it seems difficult from what I've looked at to grasp the underlying Files, Locations and Organization within the packages...

They all seem to reside physically at:

    ...\My DAZ 3D Library\People\Genesis 8 Female\Shapes
That original physical location on my C: Drive where they would have originally been installed definitely doesn't exist any more. Though for instance the Natural Breast Morph folder only has an "Info.duf" and "Zero.duf", not any of the individual Morphs... Are those somewhere else outside of either My DAZ 3D Library or My Library? Even if so, it's odd that the "Body Diversity" folder there does have all the individual Morph .duf's and it's reacting exactly the same way (meaning if ...\My DAZ 3D Library\...\Shapes was where all of it's files really resided, then that set definitely shouldn't have an original copy of the files sitting somewhere to create the issue like the NBM package...)...

I'm guessing there's more to know about what files are put where for Morphs specifically? Everything else seems to uninstall fine via DIM, even in whatever state I'm in as far as having moved my Content, etc....

    ...\My DAZ 3D Library\People\Genesis 8 Female\Shapes

That location is just for the files you can bring into the scene, think of them as triggers.

The actual morph-files are located in ...\My DAZ 3D Library\Data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female\Morps\... and that is where DS looks to pick them up
