There is an 'Elaine Paige'; she played Grizabella in the Cats musical that got recorded and is available on DVD...

But you're probably right, and while I'd love to have an Ellen Page model (I could totally see her dueling with the Emma Watson model from 'rosity!), given the VERY recent flap with Naughty Dog about her likeness and 3D models, I'm afraid it's an area fraught with danger just now.

Thanks Cayman. There is something amiss with my DAZ 4.6 I think. For instance the only way I can get to DAZ Formats/My Library/People/Victoria 4/ Dynamic Clothing folder is first to go to the PRODUCTS list and type the letter "C" for CENTURY GOWN. That will display thumbnails of the gown. If I right click on the thumbnail I can goto the Smart Content Page. There I can right click and goto SHOW IN CONTENT LIBRARY, which finally will take me to the DYNAMIC CLOTHING FOLDER. With the FLARED DRESS I can't even do that. I need to type in FLARED DRESS in the SEARCH window and it will bring up the thumbnail of the dress and I can load it into my scene but DAZ will not let me access its folder location in the CONTENT LIBRARY. And for Sports Bra and Bettie Page I get nothing at all either in the Products list or when I type in their names in the Search window.

Anyway, here is the thing. If I goto the CONTENT LIBRARY and type in Daz Formats/My Daz Library/....I do not get an option for PEOPLE. (I gert Cameras and Figures and Hands and among others Poses and finally Props but I do NOT get PEOPLE (followed) by Victoria 4/Dynamic Clothing! This is the case on my iMac at home and my PC at my Studio. Weird and frustrating.

Anyone else having difficulty downloading products from Optitex? Optitex products sold on DAZ install ok (eg Century Nightgown and Dynamic Clothing Controls) and in the past I have downloaded successfully their freebee Flared Dress and My Boy Friend's Sweater. However, the other day I tried to download a couple of Freebee Sports Bra and Tank Dress I could not get DAZ to recognize these products even tho I put the files in the identical places that I placed the Flared Dress and My Boy Friends Sweater. (see below for more precise info about where those files are.) I thought maybe the problem was because it was a freebee I was downloading, so I purchased one of Optitex's Bettie Page products, but again DAZ 4.6 cannot locate the product. I tried to contact Optitex with this problem but they did not respond.

I am wondering if it has anything to do with DAZ's new Installer.(?)

The files for all of their products that I got directly from Optitex are all found in a CONTENT FOLDER. When I open that I find three more folders: DATA, PEOPLE, RUNTIME. The DATA folder: DATA/3.0/FLARED DRESS (or Tank Dress, or PantBettie, etc). The PEOPLE Folder is
PEOPLE/VICTORIA 4/DYNAMIC CLOTHING/ FLARED DRESS (or TANK DRERSS, etc.) and the RUNTIME Folder only has TEXTURE FILES:
RUNTIME/TEXTURES/OPTI 123/FLARED DRESS (or Tank Dress, etc.)

The only other files were a couple of jpgs (eg sportsbra.jpg and sportsbraV4.jpg. (Each procduct came with a couple of similar jpeg files and some with a "db" file but these files were outside of the CONTENT FOLDER. If these files need to be placed somewhere inside of the MY LIBRARY folder, I don't know where that would be.

Too bad I'm using Genesis. i decided to parent the corset to Genesis' hip and attempt to pose the corset into the same position as her torso. I tried using the smoothing modifier, but the corset just ended up looking warped and weird. I ended up using a combination of morphs to squeeze in Genesis' stomach and ribs and manipulate her hips and breasts so that everything fit inside the corset without any poke-through.

I was originally going to title my entry "Following in Granny's Footsteps" with the idea that she was my Bag Hag's grandaughter. Of course that offended the hag (who would believe she was old enough to be a grandmother?!) so instead I took inspiration from "the Spider and the Fly."

Here's what I've done for my little test:
1) load V4, some hair, Maiden5_Bra, Maiden5_Pants, and a light set. In this case I used the one that comes with "Paige for V4 / Genesis" (by Sabby and Seven, at Rendo).

2) apply skin and pose to V4, and a texture to the hair

3) apply the "default" DS preset to the bra and panties

4) select the panties, go to the surfaces tab and select the 3 surfaces for the pants in the editor. In the "bump strength" add the same map as the one for specular strength (M5Pan_Gr.jpg), and leave the value at 100%
Then modify the Negative bump and Positive bump values till you get a result that you like.
What I used in the render I posted was Negative = 0 / Positive = 0.05 for the lace, and -0.03 / 0.03 for the other surfaces.

5) select the bra, then all surfaces except the metallic parts (M5_Hook and M5_Metal), then add the specular map (M5Bra_Gr.jpg) to bump strength and up the Negative / positive bump values. Once again I used 0 / 0.05 for the lace and -0.03 / 0.03 for the other fabric surfaces.

I'm afraid I'm not much of a help here. Just went for a different approach:
First I used the Dynamic Tablecloth, when I realized that it's not a freebie, I used the Bettie Page Drape (freebie page 13).
Because it it no use scaling dynamic stuff, I parented the matress to Michael and scaled Michael to some 70%.

I get what you're going for. I've seen a handful of nice Garibaldi Hair examples, but IMHO, these products from 3D Celebrity, Naomi and PhilW rival them. You could make them even better by adding hair, tweaking shaders, etc. Both work similarly and Carrara's hair can be animated with some patience where Garibaldi can't be animated yet. Take a look at all the different promo pics in these links... some times the one main picture doesn't show you what can be done... different styles, shades, etc.

Carrara's built-in hair system can allow you control of styling, length, stray hairs etc. From what I've seen from James' videos, the way to create hair in Carrara is not that much different.
