How to fix graft?
How to fix graft?
If I just export the graft alone, the shape is the default. not the one that has been adjusted to the body.
If I export the whole body and the graft, and sculpt the graft, it can't be imported back as a morph.Adding Dual Quaternion support to UnrealEngine4 (Images inside)nabe said:
I downloaded UE54win.zip from the URL below and moved "DTU_DQS_Deformer" to my project, and it worked properly!
Thank you very much!https://github.com/daz3d/DazToUnreal/releases
However, when I changed the Morph Target values, the normals became strange and weird shadows appeared. So I combined "DTU_DQS_Deformer" and "DG_TEST." Since I did this intuitively without proper knowledge, other problems might arise, but the normals are now working correctly.
I don't recommend that version, it is very outdated. The fork by David Vodhanel, the original author of the plugin, is updated regularly and the last was just 3 weeks ago. The mainline version from Daz is over a year and a half old and missing a lot that David has done since.
Link to David's fork: https://github.com/David-Vodhanel/DazToUnreal
Follow the tutorial I linked earlier to install it correctly. You don't need to edit anything, just enable the Deformer on the character and it works. There is no performance hit if you are on the newest versions of Unreal, the Deformer has gone through major updates in recent versions. It may take time to process the first time you apply the Deformer, because it is making all the calculations, but once done and cached it is good to go. It does not do all the calculations on the fly as suggested.

If it works for you, great! It's just unfortunate that it's so badly implemented (slow). For every vertex, it converts all the LS matrices to DualQuaternions and then applies the weights. So if you have 100 bones and 100k vertices, you have 10 million conversions. In my branch, it converts it once (100 conversions) and sends it to the video card. So 100 conversions vs. 10 million. Now, there is the conversion back for the result, but that part is the same for both. It's been a while since I've checked the code in those graphs. Hopefully, if you have limited bone influences, it'll only convert 8 matrices per vertex. But that's still 800,000 vs 100.
I'll try to create a good branch for 5.5 soon. I'm just working on something else right now and don't need DQS atm. The problem is getting the deformer graphs installed. You'll have to manually copy them since UE has a separate script for downloading and installing engine content.
What you say may have been the case in 5.1 when it was Experimental, but have you tested it in recent versions? Deformer works great now and shows no performance impact. In fact it reduces my frame times by 1ms when applying DQS.
I made a fresh example to demonstrate. It has Kat, Laura, and Ty for G9 all subdivided at level 2 when exported from Daz. Unlimited Bone Influences enabled. Using the MetaHuman Lighting project on the Portrait_RT level. VT used to keep original texture quality with everything still default 4k. You can see enabling the DQS_Deformer somehow improves performance here. You can tell when it's disabled by the pointed deformity between the legs and flattened glutes during the jump landing. Then when enabled those issues are gone and it matches how it looks in Daz using the same animation.
Here is a raw screen recording with DQS Deformer off then on:

As you can see, I'm also running on older mid-range hardware as shown at the end- i5-9600k + RTX 2070. It would run even better if I wasn't screen recording.
And did you ever submit a pull request for your branch so Epic could included it in the engine? If you've got good code changes Epic will incorporate it, there is plenty of code attributed to users. If you did, it may have been implemented and could be why it runs better now.
Render your buys! Use buys from the current month and the previous month of salesI'm really quite cross about the gallery image embedding being broken, but I've gone a little bit nuts with the new version of Mechasar's Beverly (although I've mixed the morph around a little and thrown on Tara 9's Succubus materials) and have a load of renders that need posting, so let's struggle through with the attachment upload.
Most of these also have other stuff that I've not yet rendered properly (some recent purchases, others less so), so I'll link those too.
(I will note in the name of openness that I've also used some of my normal tricks to improve the fit of clothing; what you see here is not using the included solutions and isn't representative of them).

Whenever you want to use Daz to unreal: In the daztounreal pop up window, at the very bottom, make sure you select the daztounreal destination folder in your unreal engine project (You can actually just create one yourself in your unreal content folder) and make sure the plug in is enabled in unreal engine (The plugin VERSION DOES NOT MATTER) I never select the plug in version in the daztounreal pop up window. All that matters is that the destination folder is selecfed and that daz and unreal are both open.
Diffeomorphic & Blender 4.4 - Exporting Daz Facial Animations to Blender (Solved)I was able to figure it out in case anyone else has the same issue!
Diffeo does not import custom morphs, so if you used any expressions from vendors that are outside of the FACS, then you simply need to check off "load missing morphs" when importing an action or pose.
I was using a morph didn't touch any of the morph sliders in the Daz pose tab which was my issue.
How to make the back of a woman very curvy? In most of the cases, that curve comes from a pose rather than morph(s)... e.g. when Adbomen Lower Bend negatively, Pelvis Bend positively (both within Limits...)
If a Genesis figure (or even a human being) straightly stands in A-pose, you shouldn't be able to see that sort of curve ~~ unless that figure or human being has a pretty big butt and slim waist, or sort of "handicap" like Wendy said, etc...
How to make the back of a woman very curvy?Increasing Glute size would possbily meet your needs.
AFAIk,all the Body Morph packs for the various genesis series include that morph.
If you want something more specific, you could look into Glute control, or the metric ton of other glute morphs availble from various vendors and websites.
If you just mean to increase the lordosis curve, you can just tilt the pelvis back and adjust the legs acordingly. Though this may give the figure a strange look, referred to as 'swayback'.

Ah, ottimo!

Daz to Blender Bridge - Meet the TeamAfter mulling over my options, I finally bit the bullet and updated to DazToBlender Bridge 2024 v2.17.107; still using DAZ Studio 4.21 Pro.
It didn't solve the problem, but it did at least make it a solveable problem. The scaling issue persists, but at least the genitals aren't being ripped off of the character's body. The character imports properly into Blender, however it always comes in at 100 percent scale, even if it's not that scale in DAZ Studio. For example, if my character is 50 percent scale in DAZ, it comes in at full size in Blender. But then if I dial up a morph that overlaps the vertices of the geograft, it causes the figure to shrink by 50 percent. Some kind of weird hierarchy issue? I don't know. But it's solveable by just exporting the character at 100 percent and then scaling them down in Blender.
The only problem I'm noticing now is that apparently the new exporter does some funky things with the normals and smoothing angles. This was easy enough to fix (deleted custom split normals from Geometry Data, and cleared sharp edges in Edit Mode), but it's still weird.
Moving to a new PC: what's needed to keep all the Daz settings & contentjoanna said:
My brand new and shiny PC arrived, and I'm trying to make the transition as smooth as possible (half a day into reinstalling all the software, changing settings, etc.). DIM and Daz Studio are already installed, but I'm wondering how much I can transfer from my old PC (and search here and in the search engine seem unhelpful in that specific matter).
All my content library is on an external hard drive, so it could be easily plugged in, but I'm struggling how to tell Daz where to look for it: I set the install directory in DIM, and I added a path in DS as well, but it doesn't appear in the smart content, and DIM still considers this content as "uninstalled," so am I clearly missing something. Will the plugins work? Or am I just better off re-downloading everything?
Also, is it possible to transfer a saved workspace somehow?
You can almost 100% migrate everything / settings from old PC to the new one. You don't have to re-install any product with DIM at all. Here're the steps:
Preparation:
0) Install DIM, postgreSQL and Daz Studio in new PC.With your old PC, fully close DS and DIM, then:
1) Copy the application folders of Daz Studio: C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D to the SSD / Hard Drive where your Daz Library locates. (All plugins are included...)
2) Copy %appdata%\DAZ 3D\ to SSD (cms cluster folder with all metadata in Smart Content, as well as all workspace settings / layout, DIM settings are included...)
3) Copy C:\Users\Public\Documents\DAZ 3D to SSD (Daz Connect folder as well as all Manifest files of installed products are included...)
4) Open Windows Registry, locate Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DAZ, select the node DAZ, right-click to export registries to *.reg file, name it as... let's say: myDSReg.reg (All application settings of DS, as well as Content Directories, etc. are included... )
5) Copy C:\Users\your Win Account\Documents\DAZ 3D to SSD (settings related to Bridges / plugins, as well as your Render Library...)
6) Also, copy Download Archive folder if you need it. (optional)Migration:
0) DO NOT launch DS and/or DIM in your new PC !
1) Plug SSD to you new PC. Keep the same drive letter. If it's not, assign the same letter in Computer Management > Disk Management.
2) Copy application folders of DS from SSD to C:\Program Files\
3) Copy %appdata%\DAZ 3D\ from SSD to the very same path of C drive of your new PC.
4) Copy C:\Users\Public\Documents\DAZ 3D from SSD to the very same path of C drive of your new PC
5) Import (dbl-click to merge...) myDSReg.reg
6) Copy C:\Users\your Win Account\Documents\DAZ 3D to the very same path of C drive of your new PC.
7) Copy / set up Download Archive folder as needed....If there's any warning / confirmation to overwrite when copying / pasting, YES, overwrite !
The preparation / migration can be easily done within 15 mins. ( half an hour at most ). Then you should get everything migrated from your old PC on you new PC. Open DS and DIM to check them up.
Edit: just in case:
0) You get no Daz Library path(s) configured, set them in Content Directory Manager, or use this script to migrate the paths of Libraries from old PC to new PC: http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/scripting/api_reference/samples/file_io/save_mapped_paths/start
1) Plugins not registered, then register them via Help > About Installed Plugins... by using serial numbers.Daz to Blender Bridge - Meet the TeamDAZ Studio 4.21 Pro
Daz To Blender Bridge 2022.2Hello! I've been using an older version of DAZ Studio, along with an older version of the Bridge, for many years now and it's worked perfectly for my creative pipeline, up until now. I ran into a problem I had not encountered yet: Apparently, trying to export a character with geografts (specifically, genitalia) causes the graft to collapse into a singularity at the world origin. So far as I can tell, it seems to be caused by the morph exporting process. In Blender, many of the body morphs cause the mesh to distort, because they did not get written properly. Huge bummer!
Anyway, I'm considering upgrading to the latest version, but I really don't want to if it's not going to help anything. I tend to be reluctant about updating unless I need to, as I often find newer versions of things can introduce their own bugs or compatibility issues within my pipeline, or have features removed entirely. And like I said, DTB has worked brilliantly within my pipeline for years, up until I've run into this one silly issue. So I guess I just needed to know a few things before I take the plunge:
1) Is this a known bug in v2022.2, and has it been fixed in the latest version?
2) Will the latest version of Bridge still work with DAZ Studio 4.21 Pro, or will I need to update that as well?
3) Will the latest version of Bridge still work with Blender 3.6, or do I need to update to Blender 4?
Thank you for any help, and before anybody mentions it, yes I've tried Diffeomorphic. It's not for me. Honestly, all I really need is to get the character mesh and the morphs exported to Blender, because I completely re-rig and weight-paint all my characters anyway.

Hey a small heads up for the 5 people or so who like/use my free content: I am in the process of listing essentially everything of mine made with modern tech at RenderHub (including a few items that did not make it onto ShareCG or Renderosity). I am going to allow the very old Poser V3/V4 era content I made to fade into history.
!!!!!!!!!!
One of the 'A lot more than 5' here: I need to get your V3 stuff. NEED it. I find I'm using a fair bit more V3 now that I've managed to get a TriAx version of Jim Burton's Glamorous V3 working and set her up to autofit V3 clothes.
Regards,
Richard
I see you created a 69 page tutorial: https://www.renderosity.com/freestuff/items/96369/tutorial-triax-figures-from-old-parametric-figures
I'm not very good at learning via text, do you know if anyone has done a video tutorial on how to create a TriAx version of V4 or A3? Just curious, as it sounds like it would be a really neat figure, as I have a ton of V4 stuff that just doesn't transfer very well to newer figures, despite having V4 clones.
