Hello everyone, after hours and hours facing the same problems I really need your help. Nothing works for me on Daz Studio 4.15 on my desktop PC running on windows 10 64bits meanwhile everything is fine on my Macbook with Daz 4.14.

First of all I've got the famous Postgre SQL CMS error message, I tried 5 times to uninstall everything related to Daz including Daz Studio itself, Daz Central and Daz Install Manager and reinstall it through Daz center and DIM, I deleted every files in the %Appdata%, ProgramFiles and x86 folders, I tried to change my password to a complex one (because I read somewhere that simple password could create security conflict), I've read the EULA and signed it, I reinstalled everything with the DIM, including the famous Postgre SQL, I did open a Firewall Port for PostgreSQL and everything related to Daz, I deleted the CMS folder and all its contents, reinstalled it, it built all the folders and files that had been missing, but there's nothing to do I still have this error message that prevents me to have an access to the assets I downloaded. And my second problem is that when I try to login to my account in Daz Studio, I've got a Login Failed error pop-up, while I'm sure that my ID and password are correct because these are the ones I'm using to login in Daz Central and the website. I'm completely lost and desperate and I just feel that there's a compatibilty issue between my OS or computer and Daz, like everything I tried has come to nothing. I hope someone, or a developper himself could help me here because I think the only thing that could solve my problems is a screen share or a phone conversation with a developper following my issues step by step but I guess this is not possible. Please hear me and help me I'm running out of ideas and I've been following every steps I've read on the support, youtube, reddit and different topics related to this subject. I've got the application on my PC but I just can't do anything of it. Thank you, best regards.

The amount of constant corruption in Connect installed content, could be explained if the (Connect) source files at DAZ were still encrypted 

The files on the CDN are encrypted, to protect them, but they sre decrytped (against your account somehow) on download to leave plian (or rather, compressed plain) files on disc. Sometimes the process fails.

If you installed the starter essentials through Install Manager or Daz Central then Daz Studio should not try to log in when you open a product, the fact that you do and that you are also having issues logging in at that point suggests some kind of security software issue/conflict. What is your operating system, and what security software are you using?

Use DIM instead; it is imo much better than Daz Central.

Please be aware that running from an adminsitrator account is not the same as running as administrator - the latter, which is the thing that is not allowed, is a specific, non-default action even when using an admin account. There is no problem with running Daz Studio from an admin account.

I'm sorry richard, but you seem to misunderstand this issue on a fundamental level.

What you are referring to as an "Administrator account", is not what Alan bard newcomer and I are referring to.

There are three, primary, account permission levels in a windows operating system.

1. User/Standard type. Lowest permissions, has the most restrictions.

2. User/Administrator type. Elevated permisssions, fewer restrictions.

3. Administrator. Maximum permissions, no restrictions.

In consumer operating systems(7,8,10), the third level is hidden/disabled by default.

In server operating systems(2012, 2016, 2019), this is the default account.

If you enable the third level account, in consumer, and log into it, or you log into the default account in server, with UAC enabled, you CAN NOT run daz studio.

It will always produce the "Cannot be run with elevated permissions" error.

This is, AFAIK, because the UAC token, created at log in, defines the user with the highest level permissions available to the system.

As i said in my other post, it's the equivalent of having the "Run as administrator" box always checked, since you are logged into the account, at the permissions level, this is referring to.

Since disabling UAC(in the registry), a "high risk" activity, enables DS to run on THE Administrator account, well....

I'll let you come to your own conclusions on that one.

OK, because I'm installing a new CPU / SSD on my computer I've been busy all day re-installing 6500 DAZ 3D products in DIM. The problem was I wanted the newest version of DIM. I couldn't find it though on the DAZ web site. Instead DAZ3D.com made me sign up to download DAZ Central, which I did using my already existing account with my existing name. I did find DIM eventually by searching either Bing or Google.

After that, almost a day later, now I got an email like yours saying I would be getting free items from DAZ 3D. I don't think I will as I think that promotion is intended for people with no DAZ Studio account. I think they must match the email you signed up for DAZ Central download with your already existing account and say "no" to the promo for you even though they still send the email. Why they don't check to make sure they don't send you the promotional emails when you get flagged as existing customers already as well, well, I don't know.

So it's a mistake I think and we won't be getting free items from DAZ 3D.  

Hmm, yeah. I get the Whirling Beachball of Doom too (OS X 11.5.2, freshly-download DAZ Central). It's possible that it's just choking on my ridiculously huge DAZ library and it will come back eventually, but it certainly looks hung right now.

I downloaded the new Daz Studio and it now opens and works on my Macbook running Big Sur. The problem is Daz Central. Every time I try to Install something, it freezes up and I have to force quit. Anyone have any solution? I've already uninstalled and reinstalled it twice already.

Place the Target Helper where you need the hotpoint to be, and drop the object(s) into the Target Helper.

We can continue doing so as many times as we need to.

Let's make some terrain. I like having the control of using many terrain objects and blending them together, so I start by making my base terrain, then make a new, smaller one for detail. I populate the smaller one with detail items - trees, dead wood, fence posts, etc., then duplicate it, rotate, translate, move some things around to make it more unique and then repeat that to make a third.  Since they're still pretty darned big compared to the camera or people, and there's so much to see on each one, it never becomes obvious that the three are actually the same. If it does look like they're the same, change them up.

The base terrain I'm using has a lake in the distance with a river running through it. I place the three terrains into that base to shape the environment, keeping them far enough away from the camera to allow for the main attraction in the center. 

To complete the scene as something I can use as a 'filming set', I then group those three terrains together, then add a Target Helper. First select the group, then the Helper and Ctrl + K to align the Helper to the group, then drop the group inside the Helper (Let's rename the Helper Object to "Mass Control"). Then add a second Target Helper and leave that one in the default center of the scene and drop the first Target Helper (Mass Control) into this one.

Now I use Cntl + D to duplicate the whole thing and rotate the central Target Helper a little to make a new set of three terrains in another area of the scene, then continue to hit Ctrl + D until the terrain group duplicates fully surroung the scene, even if some end up where I don't want them to.

Finally I can now pull all of those (Mass Control, in the example) first target helpers out of the duplicated center helpers to streamline things dow a bit (or just leave them in - your choice) and do a more artistic job of rotating, translating, even scaling the individual terrain groups, having a centrally located Helper within the center of each group for greater control over moving them further, coloser, roating, etc., and still being able to do those things to each individual terrain within the groups. 

Within mere minutes, we have a very interesting landscape. 

Of course, we may still wish to add more things to the scene for interest, but we've just created a nice 360 degree landscape with very little fuss.

We can take this Much further, say with animated anything - distribute them around in very creative ways making vast differences to 'where they are in the scene' by tossing them into a Target Helper and using that to place them without messing with their animations.

Your GF3 to GF8 converter works without any problems. Great product btw ;)

In Daz Studio right-click on the product container (in Smart Content's Products tab or in the products list in the Content Library pane) and select Uninstall to remove that; if the content directories are correctly set up the other files will be used and those should work (unfortunately a lot of scripts have not been written to work when installed through Connect)

As Richard said, uninstall the Connect version, delete the files in "C:/Daz 3D/Applications/Data/DAZ 3D/My DAZ 3D Library/data/cloud/1_67659" and install via DIM.

(BTW, my scripts are written to include files the Daz approved way, but it does not work because I break up the scripts into reusable sub-modules (i.e., I have scripts in data/RiverSoft Art/Common that are reusable (if not installed by Connect) and shared by many main scripts, which is basic programming 101).  Daz has an open ticket to fix how they search for files from their API as it does not prioritize searching in the local directories vs all over the system).

On 3rd September, 2 days ago, I receieved a Daz notification titled "New Daz Studio: Mac is Back!", so at first I thought it was an update for Mac (I have Windows), but at the bttom of the notification it says "Download the latest version of Daz Studio for Mac and Windows today!" but when I go to download it I get that it's to be done through Daz Central which I don't want. Also, there's been no mention of a new Daz in 'Daz Studio Discussion' since November 2020. So is there a new version of Daz or not?
Part of why I'm baffled is because I've been receiving daily Daz notification emails for 8 years, but now whenever I go to sign-in I get a 2nd window come up which tells me to register in order to receive the emails I'm already receiving and to download DS when I already have it. Plus in July after making 2 purchases I never received the email notifications for those, which is the first time ever, so I'm not sure if the site is glitching.

The function in DS relates to Connect, the installation routine within Daz Studio, and is unrelated to DIM/Daz Central. I was expecting it to be Uninstall, indicating that the product was showing as installed through DS - if it were, and if the files could not be found, then you would get the complaint about their not existing even when attempting to load the DIM/Central install. That doesn't, however, appear to have been your issue.

If you are happy with the Connect install then you could uninstall the product from Install manager/Daz Central, the files will nnot be used in any event so theya re just wasting space.

There should be no reason to move the morphs if you installed them correctly in the first place with either DIM (preferably) or Central.

Not Daz Studio 5, Daz Studio 4.15.0.30 - they were able to get Big Sur compatibility without moving to DS 5.
