Why are Michael9's Emotional Expressions so much more expensive than for Victoria9?
"Emotions Expressions for Victoria 9" origin price $17.98 (https://www.daz3d.com/emotions-expressions-for-victoria-9)
"Emotional Expressions for Michael 9" origin price $24.99(https://www.daz3d.com/emotional-expressions-for-michael-9)
????? Why??????
Both " contains 24 detailed and versatile facial expressions to use in a variety of different scenes"
Is this an errror? or a joke?
Don't get it....
No thread on Michael 9. Really?I like the Bloodborne outfits. Shame they're g9 only. Michael 9, eh. He's all right. Wish he didn't look 15 years older than Victoria, but I guess that's just the way of things.
No thread on Michael 9. Really?Looks very good, and the items released with him all look pretty good of their types too. I'm more tempted than I was by Victoria. But I'm more tempted by the new Toons than either.
Still, I do definitely like the morph. And the promos do a decent job of showing variety.

I've purposely held off on buying much beyond the initial morph pack and the Victoria bundle. But I wonder if I should have bothered to buy anything G9 related at all.
Maybe return the bundle and just keep the morph packs?.. won't be that long until Vicky is 50,60,70% off.
Let's appreciate/discuss today's new releases - ongoing threadLike Gordig, I'm barely rendering anymore.
As I try to get other nagging persistent problems out of my hair, there isn't time, but I still, bored, nervous, and obsessive, check the DAZ Store daily, and like JoeQuicks' Toon Kids for G9, Toon Heroes for Genesis 9 | Daz 3D was purchased on release day.
I've really only plans to use them in games with the interactive license and get them in Blender to use in animation practice. I never originally planned on doing any DAZ Studio renders at all but I'm glad I did.
I'm very happy with JoeQuick's work on this product, once again.
However, this purchase came out of my store credit and I had enough to buy Michael 9 saved in there but no more, so now I will have to add that $18 back in at the 1st of December. I'm expecting Michael 9 to release during Thanksgiving week. It's not a big deal though since the unimesh and Genesis 9 Essensial Expansion already make male and female characters already possible. I don't even need to buy Michael 9 but the obssessive collector in me likely still will. I don't feel the same obsessiveness with buying the other characters, just Michael & Victoria as I've bought them for so many years.
dForce FailYou sure it's not 4.10.xxx? I didn't think dForce came out earlier than version 4.10. I know it was talked about as a future enhancement while I was playing with version 1.2 many, many years ago (2006 or around then), but I gave up on DS due to having inadequate hardware shortly after that.
I do have a question. Is the hair disappearing off in the +X direction? If so, you're lucky the hair didn't explode. If it is the case that it's shooting off in the +X direction, and the hair has been dForced by you (as opposed to being sold as dForce hair) I think the hair isn't suitable for dForce. I tried to dForce some Victoria 3 hair myself, and, due to the way it seemed to be blown in the +X direction I had to make the image below instead of the one I wanted, where there was apparently a fairly strong wind from the character's right:
If it isn't going in the +X direction, I have no idea, sorry.

Richard
Dartanbeck's Journey - CG FilmmakingDimension3D's Genesis Generation X2 is one amazing friend to have!
I'm still using some of the amazing morphs I've bought for Victoria 4, now on my Genesis 3 figures, and they come across to the target figure so perfectly... I just love it!
I had originally bought it to add Genesis 2 and 3 shapes to Genesis, along with my V4 morphs, and that is crazy-awesome as well! It's such a powerful thing, and it works on the fly - any time we want a new morph dial!
Since Dimension3D has entered the next part of the journey away from this plane, I happened upon Riversoft Art's Character Convertors to and from Genesis 8 and so forth and, while they work quite differently, those things Rock too! So with a bit of patience and forethought, we can run our shapes from Generation 3 (Aiko 3, etc.,) through Genesis 8 (Genesis 9 coming too, I'm sure) and back again - which is really cool!
EDIT: ...and I want to try the Discobob/Zev0's XTransfer character convertors too. I really like having tools that help me to make the most out of my entire product library of character products. I liked them when I bought them, and they look really cool with these more modern figures with their Iray surfaces and so on. Really having a lot of fun here!
The version of Rosie in the two images I posted earlier uses V4, S4. Genesis, G2F and G8F shapes on a Genesis 3 Female version of the amazing Sol for G8F/G3F

Getting on the 9 train, or notI got on the train but only bought the Genesis 9 morph package. I still haven't bought Victoria 9.
CARRARA CHALLENGE #64: Old egypt..... WIPYay. I managed to actually render a scene with Genesis 9 morphed to the shape of the G8 Male Mummy and Victoria 9. The wrapped male mummy with the ankh is a prop from a Daz Egypt set, as is the open sarcaphagus. Created a procedural skin shader for the G9 Male Mummy instead of trying to figure out how to get G8 maps to G9. The skin is a mixture of the skin that comes with Carrara in the organic folder and some 'freaky skins' Carrara product and some of my own playing around. Lost a lot of the bump/normal detail by not using the maps that come with the G8 Male Mummy.
Another note when using G9 in Carrara. Always check conformed items when you change a pose. I had to unfit and then 'fit to' the eyebrows, the eyes, and eyelashes to G9 a couple of times. Ditto for the bandage wrapping I modeled and attached to the G9 skeleton.
The title is a Carrara text object with a bulge modifier applied.
Will probably be making some more adjustments but here is the raw render from Carrara, and the scene setup.
Recommendations for at home 3D Optical Printers? In response to a PM, and to show how good a 2k optical printer is, I have attached three photos I took of my 90mm high Victoria 3 based 'Glamorous Vickie' by Jim Burton prints. The character is still for sale in the DAZ store, though the V3 Las Vegas hair is not.
I am allergic to the resin, so haven't been able to touch to dust them for 3 years. Please realise that these prints are pretty much untouched after the supports were removed. And the camera was only 3" from the print. In reality the microstepping in the print is practically invisible to the naked eye even under the closest examination. They detail of the prints is exquisite compared to commercial cast metal models.

Hope this helps,
Richard.
General question about how to shop on Daz3dIt may be easier to use the store search (upper right corner of page) for the basic stuff, e.g. "v4" or "victoria 4" (gives different results) or "victoria 4 elite". The Elite stuff is high quality shapes/morphs and textures for the Gen 4 figures, they are generally quite good. Store search currently has some issues but usually you can find what you're looking for. For a wedding gown I'd search on "wedding" or "bride" or other relevant words, product naming is often inconsistent so some things can be hard to find via search.
Old Gen 4 stuff goes on sale regularly though with big discounts like up to 80% sometimes so unless you're in a hurry you might consider waiting. DAZ+ club membership (also on sale regularly) gives you a 30% discount on all DAZ originals and 65+% on DAZ+ content, plus monthly coupons, you can save a lot there.
And you have 30 days to return products if for some reason they don't match your expectations.
General question about how to shop on Daz3dHello all,
General questions about how to shop on Daz3d. I am new to this and use Poser 12.
1. If I want to buy Victoria 4 or Michael 4 would I go to Shop/ 3d Models or Shop/ People and Wearables?
2. Next step on the Figure pull down I'm seeing check boxes for Michael 4 and Michael 4 Elite. What's the difference and why is it that when I choose Michael 4 I don't see anything that looks like a basic male figure?
3. Once I have bought these 2 figures, what is the best way to find clothes for them. Let's say I want a wedding gown for Victoria 4. How would I go about doing that?
Thank you!
Blunt QuestionVictoria 4 and Michael 4 are very good Poser figures sold here at DAZ, with an incredible amount of content available. Keep an eye out for Legacy sales; there was recently a 90% off sale on a lot of this content. Buy at least the base and Morph++ packages for each.
If you have them, I could point you to improved weightmapped versions of each which give improved bending......
Blunt QuestionVictoria 4, Michael 4, and their companions are Poser figures. Genesis was the first Daz Studio figure. Check the Compatibility and What's Included sections of the product page if in doubt - CR2, PP2, HR2 and so on are Poser-format files, .duf and .dsf are Daz Studio.

Argh, and more argh. I am just having all sorts of trouble this time around. Another scene, another crash. In this, I had 2 Genesis 9 figures, one set to my G8 Male Mummy morph and one set to Victoria 9. I had one Carrara hair for V9 which I liked and did not save (argh, that was very stupid of me). I had maybe 4 or 5 props with some tiled shaders of Egypt-themed texture maps. I had one vertex object to be V9's clothing/wrapping. Lighting was set up. All was well and I was getting close to doing test renders. I decided to try to add some detail to a prop by adding Carrara hair - and crash-o freeze-o.
Argh, argh, argh.

What a PITA - was hoping your troubles were behind you !!!

Oh, wow! I am relatively new to Poser (I user Poser 12). Am I right in saying that it doesn't look like I should bother in using the DAZ figures for now? That they are problematic... and take some "technical savvy?"
It would be possible to export the Gensis 1 and 2 figures from Poser in CR2 format, but that is fiddly and would lose some features 9such as morph following - though Poser does now have its own version of that). Older cintent (e.g. Victoria/Michael 4 and older) is already in Poser native format.

Is there any way to disable the giant flashing black and white video on the main page before we log in? Asking for a friend.
This type of UX design can literally kill people at random. And on top of that, it doesn't even make the models look good. Just fix it the cheap and easy and obvious way.
And maybe next time you launch a new marketing campaign, consider displaying the features of the content in a way that actually gives your users time to appreciate them. Steadly lighting. Sustained shots. Focus on one element at a time. Basically advertising 101. I don't understand why you decided this cacophonic nightmare needed to be the world's first introduction to Victoria 9 and, for some users, your storefront as a whole.
TL;DR: Blinking a light on and off under your model's chin while their face fills the whole screen like this isn't just dangerous, it's also bad marketing.

Sorry. Don't mean to make light of a serious situation, but your post made me think of this old show.
Victoria 9 Seems To Lack JCMs?I bought her yesterday (after an internal 'should I/shouldn't I' war). Seems she is without JCMs as her hip has some weird bend issues (top of bend distorted like a pinch, bulging at the side) that I would get if I made my own model. This seems quite rude since she costs more than most figures. What's the deal? Are we waiting for a Vendor to fix this? Am a little annoyed.
I used some of the basic body morphs from the standard Daz Originals pack for Genesis 9.
